One thing I love about Princess Mononoke is how Lady Eboshi is not the stereotypical evil villain who doesn't care for anyone but themselves, it would have been so easy to turn her into a villain like the Onceler, but instead she helps people with leper and give girls a chance to have a life without having to resort to prostitution.

Not only that, but she also gives the women a safe place to live and means to defend themselves in the case of an attack where the man are not around. She's an antagonist, but still a great lider for her people.

Of course what she's doing to the forest and it's creatures is wrong, but even then I can't fully hate her cause her actions are not moved by greed, but by the need to protect her people. And in the end, when she says they'll build a better town, I fully believe this time she tried to do things right.

I also love how San didn't just forgive and forget everything in the end just to stay with Ashitaka. The humans took so much from her and she has the right to resent them.

Mario Movie Credit Scene Theories

OK

I have three theories for the end credits scene of the super Mario bros movie (assuming there is one) and the potential cliffhangers they’ll leave.

1 - Hint of other classic characters

Similar to the first sonic movie credits scene where we saw tails, I think we could see a classic character make their first appearance here. My guess is either Princess Daisy (which I really hope happens cause I would love to see what Sarassaland looks like) and she asks for their help defending her kingdom from some threat (second movie plot) or Wario and Waluigi and it’s some random rival challenge with the two secretly working for some evil guy but switch sides halfway through (again, second movie plot).

2 - Next boss

While I hope Luigi plays a big role in the movie defeating bowser and saving the Mushroom Kingdom, I think Mario will still be the main hero of the story. Therefore, what if the next movie focuses on Luigi’s hero arch by introducing King Boo? (or E. Gadd). There roles would be reversed essentially. I think it would be great (and plausible) if Luigi doesn’t get a hero arch in the movie (and considering it’s roughly 1hr 30min it’s likely he won’t :C). I mean, I would love if the next movie was Luigi and Daisy working together to save Peach, Mario and the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom from King Boo.

3 - New Game

The trailers show the movie having several references to the different Mario games that came before it (which is awesome I need that soundtrack now!) but one I noticed wasn’t heavily referenced was the Super Mario Galaxy games. Now, it may be referenced in other parts of the film, but what if we see Rosalina in the end credits asking for their help? Maybe Mario threw Bowser into space by his tail 64 style (so long gay bowser >:) and he ended up in Rosalina’s territory and took over her kingdom (or kidnapped her lumas/stars).

I've been totally fixated on the fact that gwen stays with hobie when she's not on spider-team missions so here's some fun notes

gwen says that hobie lets her crash in his universe- not "house" or "place" or "apartment", because hobie is homeless

she wears his chucks (how is she fitting into his shoes?) which is funny because hobie's original spider-punk costume included him wearing chucks, but in the movie he only wears boots

in the comics, the gwen stacy of earth-138 was, in hobie's words, "the greatest artist of [their] generation" who died a punk-rock legend, and hobie was/is a big fan of hers. gwen thinks his universe is cool and thinks it's extra cool that she's famous there, so his universe is probably something of a comfort place for her

gwen is apparently in his band (possibly his friend group which he calls the spider-band despite the fact that they're not actually a band and the others are not spideys), though gwen once rejected hobie's proposal of making an album together because his singing voice is awful (still, this was after they saved the world by playing punk rock together)

also, it's interesting to read "coming out as a superhero" as a queer allegory and it works in this situation as it parallels queer kids being kicked out of their homophobic homes and staying with friends in the aftermath

anyways. support the gwen and hobie besties agenda <3

my one (1) complaint about the barbie movie is that they showed the only horses in Barbieland being horse head on stick toys when really there should have been a representation of the direct doll to horse girl pipeline of barbie pegasus.
