the close friends of it all... it's a great marketing tactic. It's keeping people engaged with their social media presence, and promoting the movie using the actors, without them breaking the strike
like its genius, for amazon. And honestly, it makes me hate it. At the end of the day we're falling for another capitalistic ploy for bezos to make more money.

i love that the mileapo trailer was so full of silent tension, dramatic stares, rich historical details, and yet i've just scrolled past five posts in a row with a variation on the theme of boobs. we, as a fandom, truly are unable to process anything but the siren's call of a man with his tits out.

I hate hyperfixations.
They make you buy stupid stuff like a glow-in-the-dark spaceship pillow that you saw in the corner of your eye while going through a store.

It’s one thing to believe in conspiracy theories that may seem plausible like JFK or the Denver airport (I don’t believe in them but that place is creepy) it’s another thing to harass folks who lost their kids in a horrible tragedy and have suffered the worst grief imaginable I hope Jones has a heart attack in prison
On that last line: yes, but I do think it's important to note that like...even "innocent" conspiracy theories aren't really that innocent. There are enough things we know in the world that are fucked up but true and proven to be true (like...anything the CIA has ever done) that throwing in mud and bullshit just makes everything less clear and more suspicious, and then we have a one in five Americans believing in QANON. It's something I dislike about fandoms constantly looking for easter eggs or imaginary queer coding. This often starts with shit like Ancient Aliens and JFK and I'm not saying there aren't genuinely shady and suspicious things, but if you look for shady and suspicious things everywhere, you will see them. And it's deeply unhealthy and literally dangerous to oneself and others. I'm not trying to lecture you specifically, it's just something I've had on my mind lately and something that gives me the ick about internet culture lately.
