Prince for Hire D2 updates:

25 Dec: Did a complete read through, not changing anything except spelling mistakes/similarly minor goofs. Noted the lag areas. Set markers in my timeline for where it felt like each act ended. Started working on listing open questions-closed questions (tension shortcut), especially for the first half.

26 Dec: ctrl-f’d for my triangle brackets to find the “insert conversation about xyz here” notes--found 10 instances (not including continuity, beats, etc.); starting to work through those today.

What's stopping the possibility of a ceasefire is pretty simple. Hamas is holding 239 Israeli civilians hostage including children and the elderly. What's happening in Palestine is a travesty and horrendous. But Israel can't initiate a ceasefire from the position they're in, so we need to be agitating for Hamas to release the hostages and call for a ceasefire instead.

I never wrote about winning the cosplay contest at STSF (lol wild), but here's the prize certificate:

On the one hand, I (almost didn't enter and) didn't think I was going to win, but on the other hand, they kept talking about a cash prize. And ok, cash prizes have weird legal issues or whatever, but this certificate is bound only to the Creation merch tables, where they sell t-shirts and bags with AI art on them. I asked what I could use it for and the lady said "maybe" I could put it towards a photo op, but it also says no tickets, so that's still up in the air.

That night, Eugene Cordero was hanging out with us at the afterparty (lol hey Rutherford (!!!???) you're super chill) and someone mentioned I'd won the contest/I probably said something about my $500 worthless prize. So he signed it to make it worth "less"

ANYWAY, all this to say

If I can use it towards a photo op (doubtful), and there is a group Voyager cast shot (cause hello expensive and I am, how you say, not formally employed), I think it'd be hilarious to do Threshold mutant Tom Paris

It seems highly doubtful, but it's a thought that at least keeps me quite amused

#status update #i'm gonna try and tell them why that's stupid #they took him to the doctor but the doc just said he had a cold #well I'm concerned with how badly his body is fighting it off!!! #plus they didn't give him any medicine all day #i gave him some before I left for work and after I got home #his fever is still 102 #i don't understand their thought process whatsoever #like yeah school is imoortant but so is #A: not spreading illness!!!!!! #B: actually being able to focus in class because you feel good and not like shit #he even said that he'll probably be sent home anyway BECAUSE HE'S SICK #the issue I think is mainly he doesn't have a lot of symptoms #he said his throat felt “gummy” which no one - not even himself - can make heads or tails of #his stomach hurts and he threw up pretty recently #and his vision dimmed a few times but my mom doesn't really believe that one #I tried looking up the symptoms but it just said “eat a turkey sandwich” so thanks for that google #I don't know #i'm just worried about him #and I think it's stupid my parents want him to go to school when even by their standards he has such a bad fever #by the standards bit I mean they consider 100 F to be “low grade” even though 104 is danger territory #and that's just a hop skip and a jump away #AND ALSO HE IS LITERALLY ON THE PRECIPICE OF THAT RIGHT NOW #AND THEY DIDNT GIVE HIM ANY TYLENOL #he was home all day what did they even do #they also didn't give him medicine yesterday until I got home from my ap test #OKAY I'm done ranting I'll be here all night if I keep it up

#hey I've been on a bit of a hiatus with writing and other projects #answering this cause ive had some anons asking for updates on drabble requests #leaving a toxic job that I endured for a year #getting a new job and new enviornment #finding out I had a whole ass other family I didn't know existed #and trying to keep up with the cost of living has taken a huge toll #on my mental health and wellbeing #to the point where I had to take time off my new job and go on a peer respite #i got back the other day and I'm doing better #but my mental health isn't 100% #and my chronic pain has been fluctuating a lot cause of stress #i know i don't owe anyone details about what i go through #but i like being transparent #and this makes it easier than answering 6-10 anons asking me for an update #i am not sure when im gonna fulfill drabble requests but they'll come when they come #and you can keep sending in stuff i dont mind it at all #just know i gotta take care of me right now #and I'll be slower answering stuff #take care of your mental health and bodies the best you can #im always rooting for ya #and to end on a good note #i got accepted into a masters program for clinical counseling and therapy #only 25 people could get in and somehow i got it #idk how im gonna get financial aid for it but im gonna try #im excited and nervous #i might have more vo stuff coming too idk yet but im trying not to do too much at once #if yall could do me a solid and drop something cool in the comments and let me know how your life is going id love that #especially if you got good news to share #i could use more of that right now #love you guys and here's a hug and a biscuit from me

op: <3 hours of sleep, refreshing the EHR to see if the guy she coded for 30 minutes last night is still alive, just ate half a pint of icecream, going back to work in 4 hours and somehow still writhing in guilt for not putting out a fanfic chapter in >1 month

#he did live. i'm. very surprised #i think the issue is that that automatic CPR device kept sliding to his right so we were not getting adequate cardiac contact #because when we switched back to manual compressions around min 20 we started getting monomorphic VT and a shockable rhythm #got pulses back pretty soon after. and he's relatively neurologically intact. #it was a little weird because he is a cardiogenic shock pt who has no further treatment options and i was literally about to call it #i'm just curious because i think it was a cardiac event. of some sort. in-stent thrombosis maybe? but he's already s/p PCIx3 #he had a PE earlier in the hospitalization but it was teeny tiny and his RV looked ok-ish on echo #certainly not bad enough to be in 4-pressor shock #maybe just good old VF/VT due to severe heart failure and myocardial injury resulting in ischemia to the electrical system #anna you might say #you literally complain EVERY TIME you're on night shift. #you know you're like... voluntarily doing this to yourself right? #....... :( #what is my life if not constant self-flagellation? #ok i'm gonna go lay down will keep you updated with what the dude's cath shows

#song of the day #it's been two weeks + two days since the last song of the day #the issue is you see that I started the songs up again in December because my insomnia was fucking up my perception of time #and I wanted some kind of regular marker to help me keep track #and then what happened two weeks + two days ago is that I lost all track of time and subsequently the songs of the day failed #I'm gonna see if I can keep up again for a bit now that I've re-restarted without an alarm on my phone #but if I miss any this week I'll just give in and turn the alarm back on #updates from the last two weeks are going to sound so chaotic let's see #I got a new project at work /and/ I got demoted /and/ I got added to a higher access level /and/ I'm in charge of a new database #yes all of those things together. I'm to be an accountant now! not instead but in addition to my other stuff. should be interesting #I didn't get April Fools off like I was scheduled to because all my scheduled vacation got unapproved #(I was here for about twenty nonsequential minutes to boop people and I'm glad I made time for it. extremely fun to boop) #I lied shamelessly to get eclipse day off and we went on a full-day roadtrip and it was wonderful. everything I dreamed and more #I killed one of my baby succulents through clumsiness and rabbits ate my pea plants but my sage and cabbages look promising #got a massive pot of mint flourishing on my porch and the horseradish is gorgeous #got Duncan lights and plants and a filter system for his frog tank but we haven't set up the substrate yet #so there's just potted plants sitting inside a terrarium. very amusing honestly #I've been playing a little Stardew and eating a /lot/ of hot sauce and tofu #drinking tons of klass aguas frescas--especially the soursop one. holy shit is it good. the mango and hibiscus also #and these past few days I've been sleeping better #for most of those two weeks I was getting a handful of twenty-minute naps each workday and then crashing unwillingly on the weekend #I haven't read any comic books since February :'( this weekend we're going to costco and then I'm reading comics until Monday #what have y'all been up to? i've nearly added a thousand words to chapter 2, and i'm not even done yet 💀 the words are actually flowing for once on this project?? yes, it's not words on a new chapter, but i feel like i'm starting to get back into the swing of things with writing this fic, rather than just editing it. adding nearly 1k words to MTB is more than i've written for it in three years, even if it is just on my revamp of the posted chapters. i didn't really plan to flesh this new scene out so much, but i'm currently incredibly happy with it. chapter 2 isn't as long as some of the other chapters either, so i feel it won't throw the length all out of whack or anything. i'm happy i decided to try and expand this section today. i'm feeling accomplished :^)
