A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

I’ve been reading a lot of Tim/Kon lately since I’ve been in a batfam mood and Tim is my blorbo. Core 4 poly is also up there is good shit whether it’s platonic, queerplatonic, romantic, or sexual. It’s not right now but my other batfam ships are Tim+Cass siblings and Tim/Jason romo.

I just started Dunmeshi and yeah I can see why Farcille is good. This too is yuri.

Uhhh *does a quick backscroll through tumblr and my ao3 history* Luke+Leia is just *squeezes* so shaped. There’s a reason they’re both blorbos. Murderbot and Art are in no way romantic and I’m not sure I’d classify them as queerplatonic but god those two are just… look they’re very important to each other and are each others most important relationship but they’re both non-human sentients so it’s hits different in a very non-romo way.

B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.

I mean unless the show or story itself is pitching a ship I tend to need to be convinced. I’m very aroace-spectrum where unless the show is shoving the blorbos together (hello miraculous ladybug love square my beloved) I usually need fandom to hold my hand and explain why the blorbos go together. I think Ez may have sold me on Tristan/Teddy or at least taken it from “I think they’re neat” to “yes yes yes.” A lot of my strongly held shipping beliefs can trace back to someone in fandom going “I care a lot” and me going “hell yeah I’ll join you on this hill.” So yeah. I’m pretty easy to convince but I don’t always get there on my own just from canon itself.

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?

The answer is yeah of course I do, I love shipping. Live and let ship all the way. The problem is that while I believe in one ship above all others I also believe in both polyamory and the inherent joy of the fandom bicycle. So while I may fully believe in Stucky — for example — as soulmates, Steve is bicycle-blorbo shaped and thus I will ship him with anyone a fic or author makes a compelling argument for. Which undermines the whole “one true” part of OTP. Love to hold multiple conflicting OTPs in my heart and know them to all be true. Love even having OT3s.

As for my oldest? 🤔 I’ve been talking a bunch with the gc about Ranma 1/2 and how my gateway into fandom early on was Ranma+Sailor Moon. I’m pretty ship and let ship with SM but I do genuinely like and enjoy Usagi and Mamoru together even though I’m from a fandom tradition that paired Usagi with what seems like everyone else. I guess the early ship that I was like no these two belong together in a romo way and shouldn’t be separated or shipped with other people was Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase. I’ll vibe with most Harry Potter ships except Drarry but I read HP and PJO at around the same time and was like no these two demigods are meant to be together, do not interfere.

Rules: Post 10 of your favourite movies and tag 10 people! Thanks @glamorouspixels for the tag. I’ve actually been thinking about this of late because I’ve listening to Brett Goldstein’s podcast Films To Be Buried With. These are in the order I watched them:

1. Lord of the Rings

My favourite films of all time, based on my favourite book of all time. Also I consider them to be one very long 11.5h movie (yes, I refer to the extended editions).

2. Chicago

One of the first movie musical adaptations I ever saw, which left an indelible impression on me. To this day I could probably describe the Cell Block Tango scene shot by shot. Catherine Zeta-Jones! 

3. Once Upon A Time In Mexico

This bonkers finale to Robert Rodriguez’s El Mariachi trilogy has everything. It has Antonio Banderas as a brooding guitar-playing hitman. It has peak Johnny Depp in the era when it was not weird to have a Johnny Depp phase. It has Salma Hayek looking absolutely smoking. It has Enrique Iglesias, whose guitar has a flamethrower. It has Danny Trejo! Willem Dafoe! Eva Mendes! Mickey Rourke! all playing these absolutely unhinged roles. I adore it. 

4. Sin City

So there are two Rodriguez films on this list, but I don’t think I could do without either. Sin City is perhaps one of the best graphic novel screen adaptations of all time. I was obsessed with this film from quite possibly too young an age, especially with Rosario Dawson as a dominatrix with a machine gun. It’s utter pulp and I’m not sorry.

5. Brick

I maintain this high-school neo-noir with baby Joseph Gordon-Levitt is still Rian Johnson’s best film, and this is despite the fact it was so low-budget they had to fake a transition by pulling a garbage bag over the camera and then playing it in reverse. It also contains a scene with a chicken jug that will live in my heart forever.

6. Singing’ in the Rain

Do they make them like this any more? They do not. I can’t begin to pick what I love most about this - the hysterically funny script, the OT3 vibes, the fact that nearly every musical number is a colossal achievement of its own (Donald O’Connor running up the walls in Make ‘Em Laugh! The tap-dancing in Moses Supposes! Cyd Charisse in that green dress in Broadway Melody!) or even just the comic genius of Jean Hagen, which could sustain an entire film on its own.

7. Inception

This film managed somehow to be both a cinematic masterpiece and fandom catnip, which is rare. As an architecture/urbanism geek who also loves heists and devastatingly competent men in suits, I feel like this film was made for me. Also, Arthur/Eames! One of my all-time ships. 

8. 28 Days Later

Best second-generation zombie film, for my money - both stunningly shot and horrifying. The way the final mansion massacre is filmed while John Murphy’s soundtrack builds on that eerie four-note crescendo - chills. Also, young Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris! really the most beautiful zombie film ever. 

9. The Maltese Falcon

I dithered over whether to put this or The Big Sleep in the bracket of “classic book-to-film noir adaptation starring Humphrey Bogart” - I love them both equally - but went with this because it is, marginally, the better film (and the better book - Raymond Chandler could write the hell out of a novel but he could not tie up his plots). It also has the fantastic villain duo of Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet, as well as a young Elisha Cook Jr as the gunsel who gets played for a sap. That ending! “If they hang you, I’ll always remember you.” 

10. In the Mood for Love

This is, hands-down, the greatest film on this list. Definitely one of the greatest films ever made. Every single shot is a work of art. That iconic scene of Maggie Cheung buying noodles in a dark high-collared cheongsam, walking down a smoky alleyway swinging her tingkat to the strains of the plaintive violin of Shigeru Umebayashi’s theme, brushing past Tony Leung in his steam-rumpled suit - it gives me shivers. I’ll never be over the ending of this film. I’ll also never be normal about buying noodles.

So I’m not going to tag 10 people because I’m too tired but like talk about your favourite movies if you want to!

 What is one WIP you think you may never pick back up? I genuinely can never say never! Like it is possible that I’ll get inspired and pick something up approximately a billion years later honestly but I think if there was one, it’s the OT3 verse modern au - brain just not having it in it’s current form but I might actually rewrite as an in universe romance novel retelling of the OT3 because I think that’s very cool.

What is the hardest part of writing fic? Finding titles. I HATE IT SAVE ME MUSIC COLLECTION ETC ;) (although the very few times when I just know a title it’s AMAZING). I’d say it’s actually that I’m allowed to write things that I want to write, that like, that’s okay and I’m not being awful by doing so (see also Talking About Them At All. It’s always terrifying, every time). Which is actually part of why I’m stuck on my big WIP at the minute - I think my brain is like No You Cannot Write That.

Do you spend more time reading fic, writing fic, or do you do both equally? I’d say this one varies depending on my mood/if I’ve found an author I really love/spoons - sometimes it will be one, sometimes the other. Lately I’ve been determined to leave a comment on every fic I read which does lessen it somewhat - even if it’s just a very short comment or a ‘I reread this recently and it’s such a comfort’ (I do a lot of rereading at the moment - like @cosmonauthill You And I Conspire To Split The Ground is The Comfort Fic Of My Heart and so is So Do They Like, Like You? by @findingfeather - re writing I think about what I might be writing A Lot (at the moment I’m plotting out bits of fictional interviews with actors in my head + another thing for the id fic) but actual writing is Somewhat Less.

MULTI-CHAPTER

komorebi by tomorrowsrain ─ okay, i know you said preferably no ships (we’re already off to a rocky start FDJFKSJ) but this is literally my favorite team 7 fic ever, it’s impossible for me not to include it. it’s kakaobi, and team 7 doesn’t come in until ch. 3 of the first part, but i highly HIGHLY recommend it. seriously, this is my absolute favorite characterization of the members of team 7 & their dynamic, the author does such a good job of building their relationship from teammates to family. i will say the first chapter is a little disorienting (it’s in first person POV, which i usually tend to avoid when it comes to fanfiction, but the author does it so well and it does shift straight back to third person POV for the rest of the chapters). the author is currently writing the chuunin exams arc and it’s literally everything i wanted. 

tides by edenfalling ─ omg, this was one of the first team 7 fics i ever read waaay back on ff.net when i was like, 12 years old. unlike most of the fics on this list, this is set in shippuden, but it’s very much AU/canon-divergent. good character dynamics with team 7 learning how to work together again<3

how to make a team by Pleasedial123 ─ basically, kakashi gets his head out of his ass and actually invests time into strengthening the bonds between the members of team 7. don’t get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE canon!kakashi & i know he did his best (he was traumatized + not ready to be a teacher, i get it)... plus, if he was a good teacher in canon, there literally wouldn’t have been a plot. basically this is me saying fuck kishimoto because LOOK at what we could’ve had!! 

and so, the sensei supports his students by ihopethelightwillshineupon ─ this is really more kakashi-centric and it focuses more on his relationship with each of his students than on the dynamic between naruto, sasuke, and sakura (but kakashi is technically part of team 7 so it still counts!!)

ONE-SHOTS

for warmth by magnificentbirb ─ a scene i wish we would’ve gotten in canon.... like you’re telling me there are literally HOURS of filler episodes and we couldn’t get ONE soft, genin team 7 moment?? kishimoto & studio pierrot, you’ll be hearing from my lawyers. 

believing in heroes by guycecil ─ another moment i wish we got in canon because like... can we talk about how, in their genin days, these kids are 12 years old. are you fucking kidding me. also, now that i’m skimming over the fic, this may be more sakura-centric than team 7 centric, but i’d still highly recommend!

the pretty one by theformerone ─ it’s tagged as ot3, but i promise there are no ships! like maaaybe if you squint? but i honestly read it as platonic. one of my favorite fics ever tbh. answers the question that i’ve been thinking about since the manga was released all those years ago: what could have happened if kakashi was too late?

take the fight from the kid by theformerone ─ someone tell me why these 12 year old kids aren’t allowed to process anything on screen.... like, right after the wave arc, everything just went back to normal. like okay, yes, naruto had that moment to grieve for zabuza + haku, but i really just wanted to see a shift in the team 7 dynamics and we never really got it. so take this beautifully written fic instead!! god bless fanfiction. 

pray my name by Chancy_Lurking ─ ok so this is a fic that i found today and i’m OBSESSED. i do want to warn you, since you asked for no ships: it’s not tagged as ot3, but it could be if you squint. or, you could argue that team 7 is just very affectionate/very codependent. either way, right after i finished reading it, all i wanted to do was curl up in my bed and cry (but like, in a good way). 

just killing time by edenfalling ─ a very short but cute little one-shot that i also just found today! same author as tides, so if you read that first and you like their work, you should check this one out! (or vice versa)

did you inherit a sickness? did you blame god? by hotgirl ─ i literally recommend this fic to anyone and everyone because like?? it doesn’t exactly match what you’re looking for but it does have team 7 moments (heads up: it’s implied sns). this is honestly one of the best sasuke characterizations i’ve ever read. 10/10 would recommend.

of bruised brains and dog baths by sweetpotatopie ─ okay so these last three fics might not be exactly what you’re looking for but i’m adding them if/when you’re in the mood for cute, feel-good team 7 one-shots. this one is just a happy, post-canon piece where they actually get along<3

another day in paradise by ohthelinsanity ─ modern au where sakura and naruto bully sasuke, sakura and sasuke bully naruto, and kakashi is weird as shit. the friendship between naruto/sasuke/sakura that i wish i got in canon. hints of past itasaku and implied inosaku, but it’s very much a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.

gotta see! finally know! kakashi-sensei’s true face! by Lolistar92 ─ my FAVORITE face reveal fic EVER. episode 101 from naruto is the only filler that deserves rights (and maybe the curry arc because i love team gai, the ramen episode, and all the episodes with konoha 11. but mostly ep 101.)

What do you rank your personal fav Reggie ships and do they differ between digests and the show?

ooh a very good question 👀to start with your second question, yes they do! not all of them, but there are definitely some things I ship in the comics I'm less keen on in the show or vice versa, it really depends on the dynamics and interactions in question. and then as far as rankings go... they tend to fluctuate a bit tbh depending on what sort of content we've been getting lately and my overall mood, but I'd say this is more or less accurate for most of the time:

riverdale:

usually it's between archie/reggie (/rarchie) and keggie (and sometimes they're just tied)

varchiereggie (veronica/archie/reggie throuple which yes i'm counting in this because it's just, excellent)

munreggie, rangs, keggangs (kevin/reggie/fangs) are roughly about tied

regpea

mcmantle, veggie, moose/reggie + toni/reggie all hover around similar levels (toni/reggie has really grown on me in s4 and s5 especially tho I ship it hard in the comics) and reorder themselves differently depending (again) on recent canon events and/or my mood

beggie and reghead which is a bit complicated for me because there's obviously potential to both (and I ship both a lot in the comics) even if I don't find their dynamics inherently conducive to shipping with reggie as-is in canon, but i've also written both with friends and had it been excellent so for me it's very much dependent on how they'd develop

chuck/reggie

and also ethel/reggie don't even ask me why because 🤷🏽‍♀️but ❤️

+ i'm trying to think if I'm forgetting anything or anyone but that may be it...?? there's other ot3s/throuples I didn't mention but I ship a lot of those

honorable mention tho to spellmantle (sabrina/reggie) because I ship it sooooo much in the comics and, y'know, it'd probably be fun in the show too if they ever actually allowed us our crossover episode 😞also reggie with nick and/or prudence would slap HARD

polly/reggie is okay I guess but it would REALLY depend on how it was written for me

+ bear in mind most of these rankings are very very close together and do often swap places, sometimes even from several numbers away (for instance I was fairly apathetic to rangs before s4 and now...?). like especially everything between #3-5 all tend to switch places semi-regularly. or how I don't ship regitha yet because there's nothing to go off but if/when I did it'd probably land somewhere in #3-6

(also a lot of them I ship for slightly (or very) different reasons, so that's why my mood can sometimes affect what I'm shipping most at a particular moment because I'll be more in the mood for [x] dynamic over [y] or whatever)

honestly though I like most reggie ships to a certain degree (and/or dependent on the development). the only one I don't particularly care for is midge/reggie (well and I guess cheryl/reggie...) but others I haven't listed such as jason/reggie or dilton/reggie etc. I'm more just apathetic to

I swear every day my muse is like let’s do this!!! Or this!!! Or even this!!! And I’m like okay, but then as soon as I try to start, it’s like eh never mind. I just want to finish something man. Even if it’s off brand, actually especially if it’s off brand. It’s interesting to see where my brain wants to take me, though I suffer because of it too. Still don’t angst well, but I guess I’ve been in a mood as of late. What’s new?

Adding this: I always said my life would be easier if I was a multi shipper (I was wrong), really I should say and be okay with the fact that I multiship. But imma repeat my mistakes and say that my life would be easier if I could ot3, but I’m gonna add and be okay with it. Honestly I Only Lie When I Love You would be so different if that were the case. And I would never have to write a part two. Am I only thinking about this because I’m find myself in a similar position cause I’m thinking about the what if? Yes, yes I am, but I don’t ot3 and I don’t have the energy to start. My main problem is I just do not ship Shinichi with anyone else. Like I’m just not here for it. He’s either with Shiho or no one else.

The saw cut through the wood with too much jagged force. If Eravin didn’t stop to take a second and breathe, he was more likely to lose a finger than trim the branches off this fallen tree. But pausing might mean he’d start to examine why he was so angry, and Eravin didn’t do introspection. Better for the feelings to boil and seethe like a pot of water over a fire and then fade away like steam as they always do.

One of the branches cracked under his hands. Eravin lowered the saw and brought up his leg, snapping the branch the rest of the way off with a swift kick of his booted heel. That felt good. He definitely hadn’t pictured anyone’s face he was stomping in instead. The leaves rattled and sighed as he dragged the limb away from the trunk.

“I’ve been meaning to ask,” said a bright voice through his tetchy mood. “Are wood elf tempers more behavioral or cultural at this point?”

The briefest chuckle huffed out of him. “Shouldn’t ye know?”

He tossed the limb, watching it land at the foot of a rough tangle of trees behind his property. It would be able to rot there peacefully. Eravin brushed his hands off on his pants and returned to the tree. Riven was there, a foot against the trunk and inspecting his saw between her hands.

“My temper’s better than yours,” she answered lightly.

“Your temperament, maybe.” He tugged the saw away from her and crouched down to get back to work. “When you’re angry, though, up in arms doesn’t cover it.”

“You’re supposed to say it makes me fiery and exciting.”

The tips of his ears were hot. “Del might say that because he manages to be worse than ye. And he’s a fool. Me, I know a threat when I see one.” 

Arms straining, Eravin pulled the saw back and forth through a thicker branch. For a moment, that was all the sound that was between them. Finally, Riven asked, “What’s made ye all fiery today, then?”

Eravin’s neck was warm, or maybe that was the afternoon sun beating down on it. He paused to wipe the sweat off his brow. “Nothing,” he said gruffly. “Tree fell, is all.”

“Aye, trees fall,” Riven agreed, “but it didn’t fall on your shop or anything. No wasps around to sting ya or owls to bother ya. So what’s wrong?”

He sighed, contemplating leaving the saw stuck in the limb and retreating to his workshop. But that would just confirm Riven’s suspicions, and she would follow him anyway. Instead, he sat back on his haunches and insisted, “It doesn’t matter, so—”

“It matters to me. Who did it, then? Did Del say something to piss ya off?”

“Wasn’t Del.”

“Tell me who I’m beating up then! We can get Del in on it, too. It’s important for new, uh, triples to have bonding activities.”

Right, and have Del disappear his own men the way he used to terrorize Riven’s suitors. Absolutely not, not for something as idiotic as this.

Aye, Eravin thought the whole thing was idiotic. His hurt feelings, Riven’s concern, all of it. But she wasn’t going to drop it. Eravin resumed sawing with abandon. Maybe she wouldn’t hear him over the noise, his words directed at the wood chippings falling to his feet. “Just a few of the lads acting the maggot.”

Silence fell again. Eravin didn’t continue. Riven didn’t ask. The beats stretched on and on.

A rough, impatient sigh. “And?” Riven sounded frustrated, probably with the both of them. She hadn’t quite learned how to force him to say more than he wanted to. “What did the worms say? I’m hoping it’s good. I haven’t gotten to throw as many punches as I thought I would comin’ home.”

“It’s really not important, Riven.”

“Oh. So it was about me then.”

She’s pretty, all right, Cashal had said, but Delethil’s had plenty of pretty. He’ll get bored with her soon enough, and me arms will be right here, wide open.

The saw snagged on something. Eravin was distracted. “No! No, it wasn’t that. They were just…” He left the saw stuck in place and rose to his full height. Swiped a hand over his face and dampened his hair with even more sweat. “They were just being arses, and it got on my nerves. Tha’s all.”

“Was it about Del?”

“If it were, he wouldn’t give two shites.” He leaned over the tree, looked deep in her eyes, and said, “And if you’re not gonna help with this, ye can go, lass. I’m busy.”

Riven glared right back at him and slowly drew a dagger from behind her back. Rather than plunging it into his chest, she crouched down and started carving something on the other side of the tree.

Eravin cursed under his breath. Well, he hadn’t specified how she could help, had he? He yanked the saw free and stepped closer to where the break had occurred at the base of the trunk. He cut away the thin strips that still tethered the tree to its stump, keeping time with the steady thunk, thunk of Riven’s blade on the wood.

“Well, whatever they said,” Riven continued nonchalantly, “it’s not true. Or it’s not worth gettin’ into a twist over. Or maybe they are right, but fuck ��em. Who cares?” She shrugged at him from the other side. “Hard to know which sympathies to give when I don’t know the details, but… I had to hit one of them, aye?”

She looked at him so hopefully, it made him embarrassed, ashamed. Not for the first time, he wished he had Del’s eloquence, only without the bullshit. He wished he had Riven’s warmth, her willingness to be vulnerable over and over no matter how many times she got hurt for it. He wished he could see himself the way these two people so clearly could.

He wished he could tell them everything he thought and felt easily, without any embellishing, or self-deprecation, or stumbling. But he couldn’t bare himself like that, not yet. Eravin didn’t want to make trouble, especially not to the two people who, beyond all reasoning, had chosen him over everyone else.

The words he’d overheard came back so loudly, he nearly flinched.

But what about Eravin?

You’re taking the piss. Boss got his throne. What’s he gonna need with Glenmere after this? I’m not even sure why he bothered with ‘im in the first place. We’ve better archers—and better looking.

He doesn’t even want to be here, does he? Wants to just live and die in that little shop of his. I say, let him. No fun to be around, and the drink makes him worse!

Eravin picked a few young leaves off a scraggly vine growing up the trunk, flicking them to the ground one by one. “Del’s gonna stay true to ye, y’know? He’s wanted ye so bad for so long, he’d never think about another lass.”

Who is the most affectionate? Out of the three of them all capable to indulge one another, the affection between them is very high. But out of all three I feel it might just be Hanzo in this regard. He has been confirmed to be a cat. While he will be the larger affectionate one, Ryou and Yang will have him in the middle of a cuddle puddle.

Who initiates the handholding? They each will more than likely take turns on who is reaching for the others hands first, and will absolutely rely heavily on the moods and what the touch can convey. It more than likely would end up with snuggling in the end and quiet conversation. But if they were just going for the hand touching, it might just be Yang.

Who worries more for the other? It's three varying levels of dangerous choices and getting themselves into danger. Hanzo is at the top who will do literally anything for those he loves and won't hesitate to throw down. Then in the middle is Yang, she will protect the other two adamantly and without fear while carefully debating if she should snap someones neck or not. Warning: She just might. And of course, while he is just as dangerous as the others, Ryou is the more collected of the three. And he is no doubt the one that worries the most.

Who is more likely to ask for help? So what happens when you have a room of stubborn people trying to do things on their own? A lot of frustrated grumbling with one calm one sighing. Okay but seriously, all three of them are quite capable in their own way and can handle a majority of things on their own. But in the end it is possibly Yang that would willingly ask for help first.

Who is the one always losing the keys? Between three of them, no keys are lost, ever. And if anything should even remotely be hard to find then one of them will be able to locate whatever the lost object might be.

Who leaves little love notes for the other? There would be a series of notes left around to communicate too each other. Little loving comments and gentle reminders of the simple things. Maybe one day they are all grumpy and moving about the house a lot, so a series of built up notes ends up in this long ridiculous line on a table at some point, of arguing and grumpy one liners. Yang would be the one to crack and burst out laughing at how utterly silly it all is and the three of them doing this.

Who can’t sleep unless the other is there? A problem with sleep is a trait all three share. And becoming workaholics is only made it worse. But while two of them might be able to rest, it wouldn't be entirely peacefully until the third is there to climb into bed, to be immediately snuggled and enveloped by the two who have been waiting. But I see out of all three of them, Ryou and Hanzo would be the worst of them with being unable to sleep.

Who is more likely to propose to the other? Being in a poly relationship such as this one means that if the prospect of marriage came up, the three of them just might propose too each other with simple, yet heartfelt rings that reflected the ones they were meant for. First there would be deep conversations about it, and then keep it a secret what rings they were getting one another.

Who introduced the other to their family first? Again, there is no real family left here for any of them. But the friends of found family is absolutely a thing, and potentially adopted children they each have. It might be a lot of the same circles of friends, but still. This would be something they wouldn't exactly keep a secret I feel, and absolutely tell those close too them.

Who is more likely to play with the other’s hair? TWO partners with gorgeous hair? Yang is spoiled! Once again she'd be at the top of this list given the chance. But more than likely it would be like a rotating door of a sort of just who was stroking whose hair the most on the given day or hour. But if it is very late night and Yang awakes, while the other two are still sound asleep, then she will softly stroke their hair and tuck it back, enjoy the quiet moment, before snuggling back in.

Who makes sure the other has meals/stays hydrated? In that home there is no one going without food or drink. The kitchen is very well kept, stocked on groceries, and has enough space for them to cook together, or take turns.

Who is more likely to stand up to anyone for the other? If it's the random public problem or nuisance, someone trying to be judgemental at all on Hanzo and Ryou or all three of them, then Yang is going to square the fuck up. Ever seen someone murdered with words? Now you will here because that will happen, unless she needs to throw a punch. However if it is a truly dangerous situation that involves a fight, then I feel like the one going to go off the most and stand up is Hanzo, complete feral territorial and protective cat, while Ryou is ready to play the defense to pull him out if he goes too far, keep him safe even from himself, while Yang can tap in and give them both cover.

Who is the most likely to prepare a surprise for the other? I can see any mix of two planning a surprise or gift for the third, and this often times swapping between them all in some way. But honestly, Yang would make a small whittle carving made from wood of the three of them together, as to surprise the other two.

Who makes the other pinky promise not to do certain things? Between all three of them, it is no doubt a need to make each have their own individual pinky promise depending on moods and events that could set one of them off. But Yang would certainly have to make a pinky promise not to let herself go too far.

Who puts a blanket over the other when they fall asleep on the couch? All of them. There is no when or why reason, there more than likely has been at some point, one of them each has fallen asleep on the couch, and one gets a blanket, while another gets a pillow. But they will make sure that each other doesn't sleep too long there in the end.

OT4 with Johnny/Hanzo/Ryou/Yang

Who is the most affectionate? With an entire Quad Squad, the most affectionate can vary with the mood and demands or needs. But I feel like in the end it would be Johnny with his words and flirting, or Hanzo with his poetics and warm touches the most. But be careful, Yang and Johnny will feed off each other in the flirting stage and turn it on both Ryou and Hanzo. More than likely making Ryou take the reigns to turn the tables back with Hanzo taking initiative real fast. But in the end, it will all become a very content loving group together to just enjoy the safety each other brings in their warmth.

Who initiates the handholding? This is a wild card, and it's anybodies game! With so many hands to hold, this changes throughout the day and depends on whom ever happens to be closest and near by. But with the currently events and three of them together, more than likely it will be Ryou taking the initiative on hand holding, a reminder they are all here together, and ground them all.

Who worries more for the other? Yang probably worries most about the other three, even though all four of them absolutely can take care of themselves. She will still be very worried over their welling being. And on the flip side, the paranoia all of them have of even coming close of loosing each other, oh the fear is real if things get critical.

Who is more likely to ask for help? It will be a toss up between Johnny and Yang more willing to ask for such. There is a lot of stubborn energy with each of them in their own varying ways, but it is not impossible for opening up and admitting a need for assistance.

Who is the one always losing the keys? With all of them, this isn't exactly a problem. Even with each of their own lives outside of the home, someone can help, even if loosing keys is rare. But between all four of them, Johnny Cage is probably the most likely to loose his keys. Only to find them later rather quickly.

Who leaves little love notes for the other? The most likely to do this is Hanzo and Ryou, leaving messages and notes for all of them. Yang would leave lyrics or poems, while Johnny will send cute as fuck text messages.

Who can’t sleep unless the other is there? Someone is missing? They will be questioning where the hell they are if it's not the usual times they are back or around. But if schedules collide and clash, there will always be at least two capable at any time for sleeping together. The worst out of all of them would be Hanzo or Ryou more than likely. Followed not far behind by Yang, and then Johnny. Cage looking at the other three and going to make sure they sleep one way or another damn it.

Who is more likely to propose to the other? Johnny Motherfucking Cage. Because if he doesn't do it, then it might be too slow, and not all of them have eternity to wait. If it isn't him, then Hanzo would make that leap himself.

Who introduced the other to their family first? Again here we have Johnny doing this first. All of them introducing their close friends and adoptive family in whom they have found, but Cage want's to gush about his family, and he will show you pictures too. But keep in mind, he will also probably show his followers on twitter or instagram, or whatever he might use, just who he is involved with. He'll share selfies with all of them.

Who is more likely to play with the other’s hair? If I could post a gif of overwhelmed I would. Because here we are, Yang will run her fingers through each of their hair, letting them lay in her lap as she does so to help ease away stress, nerves, anxieties. While taking great enjoyment in such. The next one after her would possibly be Ryou I feel. That calming nature he has with the soft touch could make any one of them just sink into it.

Who makes sure the other has meals/stays hydrated? Ain't no one going hungry or dehydrated in this house, not at all. Someone will be cooking and taking care of each other, or even taking responsibility on meals. Even if it is Johnny noticing the other are tired or drained, then he's going to god damn order a take out feast to spoil them. Yang can handle the dishes after, she will insist to do that much.

Who is more likely to stand up to anyone for the other? Depending on the situation, it will vary. Someone being rude or assholeish either in public or online? Then Johnny Cage is going to put someone in their place real fast of Yang doesn't first. But if it ends up coming down into Kombat, then this Quad Squad Team won't leave anything standing by the time they are done. Wildly different skill sets and varying fighting styles they can change between, someone is going to end up on the ground real quick.

Who is the most likely to prepare a surprise for the other? There are always going to be sweet little gifts and surprises left from one another, heartfelt ones and carefully thought out. But if a real surprise is going to happen, Johnny is going to be the one to do it. This is a man whom, even despite his age and wisdom, still knows how to go all out and awe someone if he wants to. Even if it's something simple and not extravagant, he will go out of his way to make sure it's a good one.

Who makes the other pinky promise not to do certain things? Ryou will absolutely make the others promise not to go feral or do something completely stupid or off the wall. He probably has to worry the least about Johnny doing that, but there are still moments where he could get himself into trouble. However if things were to get bad enough, then it's the Edenian making the promise instead.

Who puts a blanket over the other when they fall asleep on the couch? It rotates really on whom is on the couch, but it will more often than the other two, be Johnny or Yang that gets found snoozing on the couch. But this scenario pans differently. While pulling the blanket over is all well and good, more than likely one of them will be picking up who ever is sleeping on the couch and carry them too bed instead.

The excavation field trip is such a brilliant idea - I love River Song’s name enthusiasm and ways of promoting inter-house cooperation - a trope that never fails to hit me with warm nostalgia and feels. Their voices are spot on and I particularly loved the Ron/Pansy/Hermione sexy OT3. This is a drama-free, soft, clever and fun mix of domesticity and bonding moments, with delicious Drarry pining and hot smut. What are you waiting for?

Whinings of an Author

(This is me pissing and moaning about writing and small readership, and everyone who follows me should feel free to skip my self-indulgent bitching.)

So, hubby and I self-publish fantasy novels. In July, we’re putting out our 8th novel (we will also soon have 5 short story collections in print), after which we’re taking a break from producing content to focus on the business side. (This is a fancy way of saying we’re going to try and figure out how to convince folks to, you know, buy our shit, because so far, that’s not happening.) This also means that soon (late May/early June) I will only have to write when the mood hits and I can work on anything I want. The problem is 1) deciding what to write, and 2) trying to find anyone who wants to read any of it. Here are the projects currently in the running.

Literary fiction love story—This novel is the only time I’ve ever written something with no outline and no idea where I was going. It contains some of the most lovely writing I’ve ever done. I also don’t know how to end it, and it’s a structural nightmare. I’ve been working on this for several years.

Regency M/M Romance—I was actually lucky enough to submit the novella version of this to an editor during a Twitter pitch event. She quite rightly said the couple doesn’t spend enough time on page together to earn their happily ever after, because the damned story always needed to be novel length. An outline exists for the novel length version, I just need to write it and then…do something with it.

Original novel version of Beguiled Again—For folks who haven’t read this as a Turn fanfic, it’s a May-December romance between a college senior and his advisor set in the 1990s. I’ve reoutlined it as a novel with all the stuff that needs changed, and there’s maybe 20% of the fanfic I can repurpose, but the rest will be brand new.

Joe Abercrombie fanfic—I have an idea for a multi-chapter fic for his First Law ’verse, but I suspect it will appeal to no one, not even the tiny corner of this already small fandom that reads fic. Kind of want to write it anyway. It fits between the most recent book published and the one coming out in September, so it’s now or never.

Peter McLean War for the Rose Throne fanfic—If there’s a smaller fantasy fandom than Joe Abercrombie, this is it. It literally doesn’t even have a tag on AO3. Have two one shots I’d really like to try anyway. Also, I chat with the author on Twitter occasionally, and he’s straight up said it would be awesome if someone ever wrote fanfic of his world.

Le Comte Ory OT3 fic—I have an idea for a 5 Times fic, and the tiny pocket of the tiny opera fandom that digs this opera and reads fic would probably enjoy it. Assuming I write it well.

There are other original novel ideas I have floating around (series of M/M Romance novels set in Renaissance Italy) and fanfic (super vague notions of a Roberto Devereux fic, a continuation of my Pearl Fishers fic, continuation of my Jane Austen fic), but anyhow, this is the stuff I’m contemplating, none of which will have more than a handful of readers at best. If I were a better person, I would just write for myself, which I do sometimes, but dammit, it’s nice when people actually want to read your shit, too.

A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s)

To much of a multiple shipper to get into everything but, Dick Grayson and Haruno Sakura are my main ship bicycles at the moment. So one of them slash almost anyone really!

Castiel/Meg/Sam is my spn ot3 that never leaves me alone when I'm in an spn mood.

Been in a bit of a cablepool and Loki/Verity mood lately as well.

Finally I've also started to shift back into an oc shipping mood. So various video game ocs and their love interests of choice.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)

Nope. Some I have no interest in creating fic without them showing up but other than that no.

R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships

My first thought is Castiel/Raphael but I've got two people who consistently like my posts about them so not quite alone.

I have some crossover fic ideas but I don't really feel random crossover ships count the same?

All the rare pairs coming to mind have at least one other person I've run into who likes the idea.

I know I’ve talked about this before but I find it so fascinating there’s so many ways people approach shipping.

Most of my ships I just happen to be consuming some media and think to myself, hm! I like whatever is going on there! Sometimes I get influenced by friends/artists but for the most part I just kinda go with whatever attracts me. And of course to me there’s always so much potential, I can see the appeal between various connections and what they can bring between different characters. I loved characters together that literally no one else cares about and have mixed matched more ways than I can count.

My friend likes [Ship A] with [Character 1] and [Character 2]. Chances are it’s a popular ship, therefore she can find a lot of content. I might mention [Character 2] is also interesting with [Character 3] for [Ship B]. Sure, she might agree, but ultimately [Ship A] is the more interesting ship so therefore the only ship for her for that set of characters and won’t ship anyone else with them cuz it ‘feels wrong’. She might have multiple ships in a series, but they don’t cross over.’ She either feels very strongly for a ship or not at all. I don’t think she’s ever surprised me with a rarepair.

Then of course there’s people who have like, definitely an OTP of a series and maaaybe like a few others here and there. Maybe. But that ship is the ship for them and they’re good.

And again people who won’t touch ot3s at all?? There’s too many hands!!! I’m going to link them all together, who cares.

OTP - I will draw it and I will dig through to find content. Love it - Will draw it here and there, will dip in the tag if the mood strikes. Like it - Miiiiight draw it for myself? Will reblog if it comes across my dash. It’s Alright - Probably will only draw it on requests, it’s not an active ship interest of mine, only reblog if I really like the piece. ‘Ship-In-Laws’ probably at this level too, when I know way too much about a ship because a close friend really likes it so I share content to them that i find. Ehhhh - I can see the appeal if I squint, but probably not going to get any interest out of me. Will probably skip it as a request.

Idc what other people are shipping, whether its popular or not. I think Sam/beth was the only one fandom influenced me on but it’s always just kinda been a filler ship. There have been a few ships I liked initially but the fandom just...grinds on my nerves with them. If I like an artists style I’ll def follow them regardless of what ships they like. Again, most of the artists I follow idk even what series they’re drawing but it’s pretty, so, here I am. Really funny how many artists I am stumbling into their old fandoms late.

But yeah some of my friends I feel like take it too serious! They have very rigid things they’re looking for. I like to like things. But I also don’t feel the need to push myself into liking anything. I never go into anything with the intent to ship really. Most things I do not care. Romance is usually badly written but I do love me a good canon one. Different pairings have different dynamics!

It’s also so stupid that I can see two characters being dumb softies together and I’m like, yeah, that’s the good stuff :)

22. if you could write your own TV show, what would it be like?

HEY HOLLYWOOD COME HIRE ME I HAVE WRITTEN ZERO SCRIPTS BUT I AM A FONT OF AMAZING IDEAS.

It would not be an adaptation of a book or other franchise, to start! Hollywood can have those back when it has come up with some Goddamn Original Ideas. Definitely spec fic of some sort, probably with a found family involved.

Usually I say the fairy godmother bureau sitcom, but I’ve been in such a science fiction mood these past few years! Actually, one thing I deeply want is a fake nature documentary show in a science fiction universe, and it would be hard as hell to write, but it would be so good. Just, that soothing narration over absolutely wild science fiction scenery, either deeply exploring one planet or hopping from one to another, and you start picking up things about the documentary crew from the narration.

30. what’s one show you could probably write a 2,000 word essay on, and what would be your topic?

I already answered this one for Killjoys! The other essay I’ve got in me is the one about how Merlin’s real villains were Uther, the Dragon, and Gaius.

37. which TV show setting would you most like to visit?

TV show universes tend to be so stressful to live in! But for a visit, I really do think I’d love to pay a visit to Xena’s version of ancient Greece. Can’t walk five steps without stumbling over a myth! That’s my kind of scene.

45. do you own any TV shows on DVD?

Yes! My internet kind of sucks, so it’s good to have options for when it’s misbehaving. I’ve got several seasons of Futurama, Xena, and Doctor Who, the first season of Merlin (I got rid of the rest but couldn’t weed those halcyon days) and the first of Killjoys, since I hadn’t ever bought that streaming and I like to be able to watch.

49. who are your favourite couples on TV?

Currently? Mmm, not a huge amount, it’s been a while since a ship caught me hard, and I’ve lost a lot of canons in the past year or so, so few of my canons are still airing! I am fond of Geralt/Jaskier from the Witcher, predictably. I am looking forward to the Leverage OT3 being on my screen again someday. In a theoretical I-haven’t-watched-it-yet way, I ship Eve/Villanelle? I don’t know, everyone! I am rather fannishly adrift lately!
