I’m planning on moving soon, so I’m gonna be slowing down my production for a while! Once my current queue runs out, updates will be more sparse but I’ll be around to answer asks/post doodles/chat etc. so please keep sending in ideas and interacting if you feel like it! Hopefully all goes well and I’ll still have plenty of time to draw and write, because I’m still really enjoying these little projects 😌

My mom getting a new place is kinda making me anxious I think she thinks I’m gonna move in w her instead of my dad 😭 and I’m not sure why I don’t want to. Cuz she’s way better. But I don’t. And I feel responsible I think and plus my sisters will never favor my mom over my dad… so we’d live apart. but I’m 20 years old I can live whatever I want. But. But but but

#idk I really like our house too. it’s great. it’s exactly my style. I would miss it LMAO #but again my mom is just.. she’s so much more organized and she and my stepdad actually get stuff done #and take care of themselves. living w her would be more like we’re roommates and not how it is w my dad #who needs to be taken care of and doted on like a child. my sisters too but I don’t think they’d survive living without me at my dads 💀 #or they’d be really pissed at me. at the least #my dads house is constantly horrible so messy so so so bad no free counterspace anywhere can barely walk thru the house and cat vomit #everywhere. unless I take care of all of it. I can’t have company over unless I know a week in advance so I can make it look like a normal #house. and at my moms it’s never like that. it’s messier than average sure but it’s never disgusting like that #people are always telling me not to do anything and let my family learn to clean up after themselves but if I don’t it will just get worse #and worse. they’ll wait weeks before doing anything. it’s embarrassing. and depressing. if I let it go long enough I am miserable every day #after being homeless or on the verge of homelessness for 10 years my dad can’t even appreciate the fantastic house we have 😭 #he has to fuck it all up. it’s not 100% his fault bc my sisters do fuck all but he DID teach them to be this way. the only reason I do #anything is because I snapped out of planning to kill myself and realized that I needed to be there for my sisters. so I started being like #their parent more and more. but they still never learned to unload the dishwasher or take out the trash without screaming about it. #I’m just very overwhelmed and nervous about this move. I also feel horrible as if I’m disappointing my mom if I don’t move in. I don’t want #to disappoint her any more than I already have.. #she is soooo excited about giving me a room the basement so I can have my bunnies there..

hello new self portrait just dropped which means this is officially what i look like now

#i have glasses now!!!! i’m not very good at drawing them but i sure have them on my face at all times shdhdf #and i recently started growing out my hair!!!! my distinctive bowl cut had a good run but i’m officially moving forward #i’ve also started exaggerating my big droopy sad eyelashes a LOT in pictures lately it’s part of my core identity now or something #(that’s not true shdhdf but i think my face knew about my puppydog destiny long ago and gave me puppydog eyes) #anyway i just haven’t drew anything in forever like i think i’ve drew four things that weren’t JUST notebook doodling. all this school year #(and one of those was vent art on paper and the other one was coloring with my little sister. so i’ve drew two things on ibispaint at all) #anyway i think my glasses suit me really good and i’m also really excited i can see the world really good now #i still have some vision problems from POTS that aren’t fixed but like. i can see detail in brick walls now and i’m obsessed #house fucker behavior i’m so sorry shdhdhdff (THIS IS A JOKE AND LIE. #i am proud and happy about it because this blog came from my moving blogs in 2021 #and on my past blog i had about 1000 followers so it’s like i finally regained that reach #which i’m specifically excited by because this blog (contrary to my previous one) is ONLY about the witcher books with no n*tflix talk #like ik ohhh ‘you are a fandom blog you have no rights’ but it makes me happy that we’re all gathered here together for the same thing :) #i don’t think fandom has to be an inherently toxic or immature space i think it can be a meaningful place of discussion and participation #the elbow-high diaries #updates #it’s kind of an interesting thing the witcher books fandom in english in the 2020s i am really very curious where it goes from here #it’s interesting to me because it’s such a specific and unique situation of media spread #it’s not like the witcher is unpopular or indie—it’s extremely popular. a mass pop culture phenomenon #at the same time the english-speaking (and in my case specifically american) fandom is primarily built around tw3 and then now n*tflix #even if the books were read and successful in the english market i mean they did not have the same kind of cultural impact #so it’s particularly of interest to me to boost visibility and yes indeed—fandom—conversation around the witcher books #and for me i like thinking through what that looks like— #an english-speaking (including not limited to american) fandom without anglifying or americanizing it #or at the very least *trying* to not anglify or americanize it. because some amount of it is unintentional yet necessary (i.e. translation) #but even in translation for example. the kind of translation and how it’s gone about. there is potential for cultural learning and #the most faithful translations will not make total sense so as the readers you go and look for that context and learn something #all part of a larger discussion and i kind of got lost typing these tags but this is why this milestone is special to me #it shows that people are interested in what this blog posts about and that means we have a future to explore

Finally got caught up on my notifs! I usually spend time here each and every day, but I’ve been gone for 3! I’ve been working really hard lately to make some extra money because I’m moving to a new apartment. Moving is expensive! As I was working, my iPod broke, and that was the device I used to keep up with Tumblr. Now I’ve gotta do it on my phone, which I was trying to relegate strictly to business. Oh well.

The biggest annoyance is that all of this extra work is taking time away from my art projects! That’s the classic issue I guess; I need money so I can’t work on art.

Idk, I felt the need to vent a bit but I’m really not feeling to bad. I’m actually quite excited! Lots of work to do, so I’d better get back to it!

Do you plan on getting any non millipede friends

I do! I’d love to get some more isopods and raise some beetles from larva again. I’d also LOVE to get back into fish keeping my faves are bettas, shrimps, corydoras and kuhli loaches! Maybe a snake or gecko further down the line? But those are what I know the least about and would be most hesitant to get as I want any creatures I get to have the best care I can give them.

I’d say the only creatures on my never list are spiders, roaches, centipede, anything else that moves overly fast or has a bad bite/is venomous/poisonous. Probably turtles too just due to their life spans.

But millipedes and isopods are what I’m able to keep right now as I’d have to get some new tanks for anything else, as well as all the research I’d need to do to be comfortable keeping them.

Oh also I do have two cats I just don’t post about them here, and I plan to possibly get a third next year but we’ll see :3

#bug babbles #I’m pretty much up to keep anything once #but I’m also very aware of myself and I get excited about new things and then often get board about 4 months later #which is when I was fine getting isopods and millipedes as I thought ‘we’ll bugs only live like a year right #so even if I lost interest I’d only need to care for them a few months more I know now that some millipedes can 10 years but that’s alright #as Millipedes have become a key interest of mine so I feel comfortable getting more long lived species and more in general #for fish it’s just the money investment of all the stuff and then the time it takes to set up a planted tank as I just love them more than #fake plants I’ve done it twice before successfully and probably failed about the last 4 times #so I’ve not gotten to the actual grtting fish part yet due to that #I know I could fork out £200 and get the tank and fish tomorrow but that’s not what I want I want a planted tank so it’ll be on going #as for why no spiders my dad used to catch them and out them in my bed as a kid for years so I just can’t handle them as an adult #he thought it was funny and would toughen me up it sadly only made me nearly cry anytime I see one now #for roaches I’m just not interested #centipedes can have a nasty bite so I’d like to avoid them and anything that moves fast reminds me of spiders so it’s a no go
