Saving a universe was nothing new to you, only the Spider-Man you just met was. Miles Morales, a young boy who wore a black and red suit and was amazed by the people he just met.

It seemed he already knew Gwen, but Hobie and Pavitr were yet unknown to him as were you. For a while you just observed them before holding out your hand for him, introducing yourself. You adored how excited he was, “he looks yummy too,” a voice in your head-butted in. “Venom, stop it!” you giggled and turned all the attention to you.

Miles tilted his head up in confusion, “who are you talking to?” he questioned looking around.

“Oh, my symbiont Venom, because of him I have this cool suit,” you gushed showing off your suit. Your whole body was covered in black, with one huge white spider on your chest and unlike most your mask only covered your eyes, making them look white.

Your hair was slicked back to prevent any loose strands from falling into your face. The rest of your hair was open with dark strands of black.

“Yeah, she got this weird thing inside ‘er,” Hobie said and pointed at you as behind you a tentacle emerged, Venom heard exactly what Spider-Punk said. As a result, he lunged at him, which Hobie could duck, “come on, mate!”

“You know better than that!” you gently scolded him with a grin as Venom retrieved himself.

Jessica interrupted the moment, telling Miles that Miguel wanted him in the HQ, with excitement you jumped up and down. “You’re gonna love it in the HQ, everyone’s so cool,” you explained and followed Jess, “he’s already waiting for you,” she whispered to you. Her words made your heartbeat faster.

You all walked through the HQ, though you had a tad more speed on you than the others, “someone’s got a pap in their step,” Venom teased you, but he was already aware of how much you loved Miguel.

“Well why wouldn’t I? I haven’t seen him in forever,” you spoke out aloud, “yesterday, you saw him yesterday,” he told you. Playfully you rolled your eyes at him, smiling to yourself at the thought of your boyfriend.

No one paid your conversation any attention, besides Miles who was still amazed how you talked with Venom.

Quickly he caught up with you, “so that thing in your head…what exactly is it?” he asked you. “Thing? I’m not a thing!” Venom got louder in your head, you chuckled at his actions.

“He’s an alien who was brought to earth, at first he wanted to kill everyone,” “still kinda do,” but now he wants to fight the bad guys,” you told Miles and ignored Venom’s comment. It wasn’t true, he was just being protective over you.

“An alien? That’s so cool, but is he like a parasite?” Oh, no. Venom hated the word ‘parasite’, “what did that little shit just say?” “Hey, calm down, he didn’t mean to be rude. Miles is just curious,” you tried to smooth Venom and excused yourself for a moment.

Miles stood back dumbfounded, processing what just happened as suddenly an arm wrapped over his shoulder, “you’ll get used to it,” Hobie shrugged.

When you were a few more steps away from them Venom’s head came from your shoulder looking as dangerous as ever. “You can’t take to heart everything that people say,” you said with a smile, “but I’m not a parasite,” he argued. You noticed him pouting to which you giggled, “don’t be sad, you’re not! Ignore it.”

Venom could be a real drama queen but enjoyed it just as much, he was just too cute when he was mad.

After he felt better you rejoined the group who now stood by Miguel’s platform, with one jump you were next to him. Miguel looked as grumpy as ever, once he saw you however his face lit up a little.

“We finished our mission successfully,” you told him with a proud smile as you came to a stop in front of him. “Mhm, I saw that…you did an amazing job mi amor,” the last part was only meant for your ears, whispered just loud enough for you to hear.

You interlocked your fingers with his and looked up at him with heart shaped eyes. Your expression held pure adoration for Miguel and his was no different.

Miguel would do everything for you - does everything for you. Because for him you were the apple of his eye, the one he got a second chance with and would never lose again.

“Miles meet Miguel O’Hara,” Gwen introduced the two, Miguel glared at them. He knew Miles already - hell he knew everyone - and wasn’t fond of the boy - okay there were like three or four people Miguel liked.

Suddenly Venom decided to make an appearance and stick his head out, moving between you and Miguel, “he called me a parasite,” internally you smacked Venom, that little drama queen. Miles jumped back once he saw what came from your shoulder, Venom did his usual scary face.

Miles caught himself and started telling Miguel how he could speak Spanish too, that he got him an Empanada. Long story short, Miguel didn’t like it and threw the Empanada across the room. From the corner of your eye, you saw Hobie snatching the Empanada which caused you to giggle lightly.

The sound made Miguel relax a little, but he was still in rage over Miles which was interrupted by Peter Parker, “go easy on him Miguel, he had a terrible teacher.”

Excitement overtook you as you saw him, “Mayday!” you shouted and jumped from the platform, “ten cuidado cariño,” Miguel called after you, concern laced in his tone. The toddler reached her hands out for you, and you gladly took her.

You walked with her back to Miguel, “hold on tight yeah?” you told her and jumped back up to Miguel.

“Oh, of course that would explain why he blows holes into the multiverse,” Miguel snapped at Peter, his words made your ears perk up. You thought you had ended the mission with success, but if there were holes then that would mean the opposite.

“I thought we were successful,” you voiced your concern to your boyfriend who looked at you. Suddenly he was at a loss of words, how could he tell you that saving the people was wrong? It tore his heart apart when he saw your disappointed expression, he decided on the only thing he could bear.

“You did, the mission you had was successful,” assured you, the answer had you confused. Was your mission different from the others?

When he spoke to you his voice turned softer, more considerate as when he talked to Miles and Peter. He didn't want to hurt your feelings hence why he couldn't tell you.

For a moment you studied him, you weren't stupid you knew something was up. The look on his face told you that saving the people was wrong, the canon had been broken. You pouted, you hated upsetting anyone, especially Miguel.

Miguel’s body language drastically changed, his once confident and intimidating posture faltered. His expression was helpless, “mi amor, please don’t pout, you did the right thing. It’s what you do,” his hand rested on your heated cheeks. You looked up at him, teary eyes and not knowing what to do.

“You don’t need to sweet talk me, we should’ve let the canon event happen and not stop it…,” you said, all of a sudden not being able to meet his eyes, instead looking down at your feet.

“Hold on, why is what she did right and I did wrong?” Miles questioned, pointing at you. He was offended, Miguel had lectured him and Gwen but you get away with it? “Shouldn’t she know better as well?” he added, taking a step forward.

Miguel turned back to the boy, face hard and a cold stare. He stood tall, posture back with a hint of possessiveness.

“It’s not the first time you blew a hole into the multiverse and you think you can just come here and act as if you didn’t do anything?” Miguel’s rage picked up with every second he looked at Miles.

The reason why he didn’t lecture you wasn’t because he loved you – though a part of him didn’t because of that – but because you went on the mission last minute. You weren’t supposed to come with them, you didn’t know what event had to happen.“Miguel, I’m sorry,” you said, trying to calm the situation, “don’t take it out on Miles,” you lifted your head to meet his eyes, hand gently touching his forearm.

Everything was wiped away the moment he heard your soft voice, felt your touch. His blood pressure calmed down, relaxing slightly when turned to meet your gaze. No, it wasn’t your fault, you shouldn’t have to apologize.

“This isn’t over, now go,” Miguel snapped at the three Spider-Man variants before giving you his full attention.

You felt guilty, maybe you shouldn’t but you did. You have been in the society almost as long as Miguel and should’ve informed yourself about the mission. Now here you were the reason Miles and Gwen got a lecture from your boyfriend while you thought the mission went well. Apparently not.

“Stop it, mi amor. I can see your thoughts running. You did nothing wrong, I could have told you what needed to be done,” his tone was soft, quiet.

Miguel laid his hands on your cheeks, thumb stroking over your temple and resting his forehead against yours. That was when he felt the first tear running along his hand, “vYou wrapped your arms around his middle, hugging him as tight as you could.

“I disappointed you,” you mumbled into his chest, fingers interlocking to keep him as close as possible. He closed his eyes, his heart burned with pain.

He hated seeing you fault yourself for something that wasn’t your fault. You also didn’t disappoint him, it was an impossible task, “mi amor, if there is one thing you could never do is disappoint me. Yes, you broke the canon, but you didn’t know what was canon and I will not fault you for that.”

You sniffed, his words only made it partly better but his hug. Oh, his hug made everything better. Miguel O’Hara gave the best hugs in the world.

Miguel hated eating in the cafeteria. Everything and everyone was so loud, they wanted to talk, sit next to you and make their "funny" jokes.

You loved eating in the cafeteria. Everyone would tell their stories of whom they fought or just something funny.

If it weren't for you, Miguel wouldn't set a foot in there but you liked eating there so here he was. Sitting with you on one of the tables, as far away from everyone as possible.

He had his usual grumpy expression on while you told him about the cows you so the other day. Occasionally slipping Venom some of your french fries. The story of how you feed them warmed his heart, he could listen forever – until unwanted guests came.

"Hey, sunshine," Peter B. greeted you with Mayday sitting in front of his chest. The nickname was a common one amongst the spider people.

"Miguel, my friend! See I just wanted to come and ask you some things," he enthusiastically said and sat down beside him. Mayday escaped him and crawled towards you, Venom who had one of his tentacles out started playing with her.

"So I was thinking," Peter started and Miguel already let his head hang low, "why don't we make like a little get together to celebrate-," "dios mío, no," Miguel instantly shut down the idea.

"Come on, it will be fun!" Peter continued to try and convince Miguel, but it was no use.

"It's dangerous, we have missions and we can't ignore them," Miguel shook his head and went back to eating his food. Peter pouted and looked at you for help, you didn’t immediately notice him as you were busy with Mayday.

Once you did your eyes widened, quickly it downed on you what he was asking of you. “I think it could be fun, it doesn’t have to be big and nobody has to come.”

Miguel stopped eating and looked at you with a cocked brow, his expression was one you got often when you asked him for something because of someone else. Well he couldn’t exactly say no to you.

“Mhm, can’t say no huh?” Venom said to him as he showed his face, Miguel grumbled something under his breath which no one could make out.

“Fine,” he stated and got up from his seat to leave for his office, Venom turned his head to you, knowing you’d follow him. “You’re welcome! I’m already excited and we would love to come. Oh, you know what, I'm gonna bake some cupcakes with little spiders on top, they’re gonna look so cool!” you gushed at Peter with a huge grin before skipping after Miguel.

“Miguel this is gonna be so much fun, we gotta have music and food! Maybe you could bring some decoration, like these spider garlands you can get on Halloween,” you ranted, telling him all the ideas you had.

Your eyes were filled with excitement, it made Miguel happy to see how much you enjoyed planning this. He knew it was dangerous but maybe for one little moment it could be okay.

“Stop frowning,” you commented and nudged your hip against him, in response he rolled his eyes sitting down in his chair. Slightly offended, you gasped, “did you just roll your eyes at me.” Miguel chuckled and pulled you into his lap

“Don’t act as you never roll your eyes at me,” he argued to which you gave a huff, “I do not!”

His hands traveled along your waist, head leaning into the crook of your neck, “mhm, I seem to remember how your eyes roll when I have you filled to the brim with my cock,” his words made you shiver and cheeks heat up.

You whined when you felt his lips kiss along your neck, “Miggy,” he was teasing you. Arms wrapping around your waist to keep you close.

“How about we recreate that, mhm mi amor?” His voice was deep, filled with lust and you could feel his hardness pressing against your ass. Your panties were already drenched, thighs pressing together.

RL Story

Liam had a nice day with D. & me... I think? I mean... our cat was not really pleased about the short Baby-visit, but well, the little man survived it. 😬

An hour after we arrived home, I got a call back from my doc. He said my results were fine, my Baby's fine. I shouldn’t worry. So we went out with Liam. I played with him in a water puddle next to a kids playground. Under that water puddle was a..... small fountain into the ground. I thought it was off.

But that... water-thing turned on, just as I was standing in that puddle with Liam. Of course I got wet. Daniel couldn't stop laughing, but I admit, it was funny.

Once we were back home, I took off my wet clothes. Daniel head back down to the supermarket to buy groceries. Liam slowly got hungry. Our little stinky started to cry. I didn’t have time to go up to the bedroom to change, so I ran around in my underwear almost all day long. To prevent Liam from starving, I gave him half a banana while I prepared his baby food. Only 5 minutes later Daniel was back. I asked him to help me with Liam, so I could prepare our food. But Daniel, he.......wanted something else, me! He got horny. Just because I was in my underwear. I mean, I didn’t mind. I was glad he... liked me. Still, it was odd. This morning he got out of my way. He barely spoke to me, but now suddenly, he can’t keep his hands off me? And secondly, we were not alone! But Daniel didn’t care.

Liam that little stinky got totally dirty while eating. But agh, who cares? The main thing he had fun and felt comfortable with us. Only Lucky, our Cat, seemed to have something against Liam’s cheerful, curious mood of discovery. The little one crawled through our apartment. He opened all our drawers he could reach.

He really enjoyed it, until Lucky came along and decided to push Liam. The little one rolled to the side, but he didn’t complain, looking for another quiet corner in our apartment to poop.💩

After Liam took a dump, he just fell asleep on the floor in his pooped diaper. 🤣Daniel and I didn’t get it right away. We were....... busy, but the smell of baby-shit forced me to let go of him. Also, maybe I should finally get dressed?

Anyway. I went back to the kitchen to check on Liam... Oh my, our stinky needs to take a bath. 🤢🤭

While Daniel was cleaning Liam, I went to get dressed. Now that I was no longer naked, I could help D., without him touching me all the time. Of course he was a bit disappointed, but still pretty horny. 🤨 As soon as Liam fell peacefully asleep, Daniel could finally........... vent a bit? 🤭

Ngl, I wanted him too. My hormones were partly responsible. I was pregnant and seeing Daniel with a Baby today, made him even more irresistible to me than usual. Besides, he's hot! I was curious if you still have hope for Portwell? I saw that some portwells still have hope. I personally lost all hope mainly bc r*na is so popular and I don't think that Tim won't make them endgame... It's sad that, nowadays, many ships happen bc of fanservice... You don't even have to look from a storytelling perspective to see where things are going, you just have to check what the fandom says and that's prob gonna happen... One thing that I don't get tho... If Tim really wanted for r*na to be canon since ep 1x5, why did he spend all s2 to make us not ship them? In the second half they didn't have any interactions. Gina was still annoyed with him in ep 2x11. Why didn't Tim plant some seeds for them in the second half of s2? Why is Gina most of the time the one who does sth in that relationship and when Ricky does sth, it's bc Gina asked? And the only time when he has initiative they ruin that (taking his role seriously for her (ep 3x4) and later they reveal that he didn't even read the whole script on the opening night day). I personally could never ship them. I saw potential in s1 but after that they were ruined. S3 just tried to hide the s2 mess under the carpet instead of cleaning it (Ricky still does the bare minimum for Gina and he wasn't held accountable for how he hurt her in s2, he should've apologised!!!). Idk but Gina deserves so much better... They'll prob make Ricky the best bf to her in the next seasons, but that won't change the way they got together (with Gina putting in most of the effort)... That means she is ok with the bare minimum as long as she is with Ricky which is really sad... She deserves so much more... Portwell deserved so much more... s2 Portwell would've def survived that summer... I hate fan service for ruining them...

I’m shocked to hear anyone still has hope for canon Portwell, ngl. I do not and can’t imagine ever having any ever again tbh. They not only effed them up pretty bad but the writers have lost me entirely. At this point I’d dread seeing what this team would do with them if they tried again.

To answer the rest of this ask, I will die on the hill that Gicky was not actually the plan or endgame or any of this nonsense backtracking Tim’s been doing. I can believe that when he put them together in season one it ended up intriguing him more than he had thought, but considering what they did with season two clearly it wasn’t enough for him to switch up the plan at that point to put them together or set up something in the future - quite the opposite soooooo tell me again how this was always the plan? Sure, Jan.

It’s so obvious to anyone paying the tiniest bit of attention that Olivia left, so they shifted everything to give Ricky another love interest that they thought could compete in any way with Rini and lose the least amount of viewers upon her departure. Gina was the only real option. They didn’t even do it WELL cause they cared more about doing it as quickly as possible.

I admit that during season three I don’t know if I would have claimed it was fan service, but after seeing that Tim had a version of that final scene where he jumped on that entirely unfounded and random Gicky theory about the chocolates, unfortunately, I have to agree with you.

I will never not be disappointed that this show that brought me such joy, was written so well, didn’t do all the garbage you would expect from this kind of show, and boasted about being proud that they were telling stories of good people being good to each other, has turned into such trash.

S2 Portwell will forever be one of my favorite ships, winning me over completely (as an anti and Gicky fan going into that season) because of how well they wrote it . Alas, another casualty of outside factors switching up the plan and terrible choices being made by those in charge as a result.

The Summer of Portwell was one for the books, but now, for that HEA fanfiction is where it’s at, friends!

Ranking the 10 Showtime transformations because why not

Note that this is based on gameplay. If it was based on design, this list would be widely different. Mild spoilers as I mention the number of levels + a few elements in some of them.

10. Swordfighter Peach: The more trailers I saw the more I expected this one to be rather dull and repetitive, and yeah it was. All you do is run and press a button, sometimes having to wait before pressing it. It probably doesn’t help that I’m not into beat 'em ups. The design and aesthetic are really cool, but the gameplay really gets dull.

9. Mermaid Peach: Ok so while I absolutely adore this game and would buy a sequel/DLC in a heartbeat if Nintendo released one tomorrow, there are two big issues I have with it. You can’t skip the in-level cutscenes and dialogues (which makes going back to collect everything very tedious) and the game is way too short.

Tbh I would’ve loved to have at least eight levels per transformations, but regardless I do think we should have had at least five, that way not only would the game be longer but we could also have had more game mechanics for each transformation, as there was a lot of potential here and it feels like the game only scratched the surface of what could be done with them (ngl I’m very curious about the scrapped content of this game).

The way I see it, the first and second levels stay the same, third you start in the transformation and it introduces a new mechanic, fourth is the Sparklas rescue level, and fifth is a play done fully with the Sparkla by your side, as I feel like having one long/full level with each Sparkla would have made one specific cutscene more effective since we would’ve seen more of them as a result.

Going back to the topic of Mermaid Peach, thing is, while each transformation had more potential, I’m still very satisfied with what we ended up having for all of them, including Swordfighter. Mermaid is the exception tho, as unlike the others it feels like an actual waste of potential, not helped by the first level being a complete slug in its first half and the Sparkla level being ridiculously short.

Like that transformation is just a whole lot of nothing. You either move some fishes or do a not-actually-a-rhythm-game concert, both of which aren’t the most interesting thing. Tbh I should probably put it below Swordfighter but I do like controlling the fishes, especially in the second level, so it gets some points for that. But it’s still a very “nothing” transformation.

I think the issue is that they didn’t fully commit to their ideas for it. Like we get a few puzzles but they’re way too short and easy, same with the concert that isn’t much of a minigame. I feel like had they pushed for longer or more complex puzzles and done something different for the concert, it would have been a better transformation. Or at least make the puzzles of the first level better, as I do like the way they handled the second level’s fight-oriented section.

And unrelated but huge props to whoever did the opera singing bc some of the notes they hit are high!

8. Mighty Peach: It’s basically the same issue as Swordfighter. You run around and attack, rinse and repeat. But this time it’s more satisfying and there’s more gameplay variety. Also the boss of the second stage had so much effort put into them and I can’t help but love it for it. Still all about running and punching, but it’s more fun.

7. Kung-Fu Peach: Same deal as Swordfighter and Mighty. Now I’m putting it above the other two bc they do try to give you different ways of fighting on top of some platforming, and going down the polls is very satisfying when there are tons of enemies. I also find the bosses to be better than Swordfighter, even if in both cases it’s just “press the attack button at the right time”. I think it’s the animations, it’s just more fun. The boss for the Sparkla rescue is especially enjoyable. But yeah ultimately it’s still a lot of running and punching.

6. Figure Skater Peach: This one was weird to rank bc I do really like the gameplay, they did a really good job at mixing up minigame with fighting, plus the boss is fun. But at the same time the levels themselves aren’t all that good imo.

I think this transformation might suffer the most from only having three levels. Like I wish we had more exploring/"platforming" the likes of the first level (the section after the performance but before the boss), but at the same time I like the parade float idea of the second level. The first level also has a fairly long “tutorial” (the performance section) but at the same time I get why it’s there. So yeah, I guess the issue is moreso how little levels they are, making the flaws of what we have stand out more.

On that note, I found the controls to be a bit janky at times, especially when it comes to turning around, but I’m willing to forgive some of it since it’s ice physics + gives some more difficulty (even though I’m not the biggest fan of when the difficulty comes from jankiness rather than lack of skill)

The sparkla level is amazing tho!

5. Patissiere Peach: The transformation I expected the least of and ended up genuinely surprised by how enjoyable it is. You don’t even do that much, there’s only two minigames that are played out three times, but for some reason I still love it. And I like how tight the timing on the cookies is on the second level, in general they don’t leave you much room to mess it up which I like.

4. Cowgirl Peach: It’s basically the opposite of Figure Skater. I don’t find the gameplay itself all that interesting but the levels are so good and manage to use said gameplay very well, which really makes up for it! The second and Sparkla level in particular are really good, I really enjoyed them!

3. Dashing Thief Peach: Look I grew up playing Mario games, of course I’m going to enjoy the 2D platforming levels. But yeah those are really fun! Love the vibes, cool levels, and I especially like the Sparkla one as it really feels like they’re testing you on every ability with the four different rooms + the escape. Really enjoyable transformation!

2. Detective Peach: I had no idea what to expect of this one and am still surprised by how much I love it. I don’t know if this is the mystery angle, the fact you can skip dialogues and even go straight to the answer if you want to without needing any clue (which makes replaying the levels way less tedious), the Junior detective that I can’t help but love, the fact you can check on everything which makes my monkey brain happy, Peach’s “I’m smarter than everyone else” face when getting the answer that I find hilarious, or level 2 as a whole (especially the very beginning and “cutscene” at the end), but yeah I adore this one!

The only negative I can say is that there’s little replayability once you know the answer, which I’m assuming is an issue with the genre in general so it’s not like the game could have done this differently, and the Sparkla level which is way too short and easy. Other than that, love it!

1. Ninja Peach: Like I said for Dashing Thief, I’m a big fan of platforming. And this level is all platforming on top of really fun infiltration. They also somehow managed to make auto-scrolling sections fun, which I really like (I think it’s the speed that makes them enjoyable).

Speaking of infiltration I’m also a big fan of all the silly animations Peach has when sneaking around (the two branches clearly not made of grass, the wall disguise that doesn’t hide her hair, the bamboo, the shoes when walking on water, the log with hair when spotted, trying to walk sneakily in that one section from the second level), you can tell the people working on the game had fun with those!

Also the “scroll usage” sections are incredibly satisfying, especially the one from the second level. The Sparkla level is also very fun, tho not my favorite. But yeah, it’s just a very fun and satisfying transformation!

(Note that I’m aware of how dumb it is to complain about some transformations “not having much going on gameplay wise” or “only being two buttons to push” when literally every single one of them is just pushing two buttons, but the difference lies in how much variety they were able to get out of each transformation on top of the genre for each, both of which make for a more or less enjoyable experience depending on the transformation.

For example, both Swordfighter and Dashing Thief only have two buttons you can push, but Swordfighter ends up being exclusively about fighting enemies, while Dashing Thief has a few puzzles, some quick action moments, a gliding section and some “rail sliding” (no idea what else to call it). It’s still just pushing two buttons, but they got more variety out of it, hence being more interesting.)

Do you like NejiHina more than NejiTen and NaruHina? NGL I hate those two ships sooooooo much I literally throw my computer across the room whenever the fan art pops up.

First of all I need to apologize for it took me so long to reply.

Anyway I‘ve been waiting for a question like this, ahaha.

The short answer is yes, i do like NejiHina more than both NejiTen and NaruHina.

No, it doesn’t mean that I hate NaruHina and NejiTen. Hatred is too strong an emotion, and there are not many things in my life that I really hate and fictional ships are definitely not on the list. Various ships exist and it doesn't trigger or offend me as far as I prefer to concentrate on things/ships that I like.

However I do not “like” them either, because I’m not a multishipper and these ships don't give me the emotions, inspiration I want to receive from the shipping experience. (Compared with NejiHina that gives me everything I need).

I prefer to think I’m neutral about NejiTen and NaruHina.

The ships themselves are not bad and don't deserve to be hated. I see many talented artists who create for these ships and I think it is great that the ships inspire other ppl as much as NejiHina inspires me. It’s a good thing that there is a diversity of content for everyone.

But ofc I need to warn you that I wrote my honest opinion about the ships and you may not like it if you are a NaruHina or NejiTen shipper. I’m not interested in ship wars as well, so stop reading here if you are not sure you can control yourself.

Dislaimer: when I write that I ”don’t like” something about a ship, it means that either I like these moments more in NejiHina or that I just don’t like some exact things. Don’t like =/= Hate.

There is something about NaruHina and NejiTen that irritates me and makes me uncomfortable. The fans.

It surprised me that NaruHina fans, who have tons of official content, manga, anime, movies, novels, Boruto above everything, are so hostile towards fanships. Like, chill, dudes, your couple IS canon. This fact doesn't make everyone like it and it is natural, but everyone knows it is canon, there is no need to prove it to anyone everywhere. What is even more strange to me is that it seems there are many NaruHina fans who feel threatened? offended? by any other fanships with these characters (other ships with Hinata mostly). Such fans write offensive comments to fanships content creators and 'prohibit' creating it. This attitude is beyond my understanding.

The situation with NejiTen fans is quite the contrary but the result is the same. NejiTen is not canon, characters don't even have any canonical base for shipping except being members of the same team. But the fans keep insisting it is canon, mentioning it as a common knowledge under every post with Neji (I'm exaggerating, but I see such comments quite often).

Maybe I don't understand something in this life, but fans act like the 'canon' tag automatically makes the ship better. I thought that the ship is good enough if it makes you happy, if it inspires you to create, gives you the emotional experience that you need.

Being canon doesn't make everyone like the ship. Not being a canon doesn't make the ship bad. Isn't it like this? Can everyone just chill and enjoy things that make them happy and share this happiness with those who have the same preferences?

I'm creating for NejiHina that is part of the Naruto fandom long enough to make my own opinion. If I get the hate/anti comment for my NejiHina arts telling how gross this ship is in 98% the one who wrote it is a NaruHina or a NejiTen shipper :) or they ship Neji in Male x Male ships. Or they hate Hinata. Yes, I'm curious enough to take a look at accs that write such comments and it is not difficult to figure out which ship they like. In most cases righteous hate is only ship war mimicking the high morality :)

There are two points that NaruHina and NejiTen have in common that make both ships not appealing for me.

First is how both ships deal with the Hyūga clan. There are two variants. In the first one the problem of the Hyūga clan wouldn't be solved bc both characters that are supposed to deal with it, who have authority to change their clan for better, just flee the clan shifting the responsibility to Hanabi alone. But then what was the point of Neji's high-flown speeches during the chunin exams? Why did Hinata express her sympathy and understanding for him if in the end they both just give up on it?

Besides, I highly doubt that Hanabi can deal with it alone. I don’t believe that the clan’s problem can be solved that easily and that Hanabi will be enough for it. I mean, if the conflict can be solved with Hanabi saying ‘hmmm, let’s just ban the seal and the clan will live happily!” and the clan’s council will be like “oh, ok, thanks for suggesting this idea!” then it is a shitty conflict that is based on that the clan’s leaders as well as Konoha leaders are stupid or purposevly evil. I like to think that things are more complicated and that there is no easy way to solve it. That’s why all statements that it was 12 year old Naruto and his passionate speeches that changed the clan and made them solve their many centuries conflict overnight just make me smile sympathetically.

The other variant of this plot implies the end of the Hyūga clan. I know that there are many ppl in the fandom who hate the Hyūga clan, but I'm not one of those ppl and I see a huge potential for a story with Hyūgas. So I find it quite sad and pointless, because Hyūgas together with Uchihas contributed to making Konoha and the country of Fire the most powerful country. Not to mention that the clan wasn't developed enough. Their obvious setup as imba medic nins was completely ignored. Their combat abilities were downgraded as well for plot’s purposes. Is it a sly plan to get rid of ancient clans? Only that the Uchiha clan was massacred and the Hyūga clan will just go extinct , losing their doujutsu. This is actually a cool plot twist that may result in the political conflict between the clan and Konoha, tho in this plot I prefer Hyūgas standing as one and living on as a powerful clan we were told they are.

I started to simp for the Hyūga clan only more than a year ago, when I deepened into all canon and filler moments with them, after I filled the plot holes with headcanons and background story and invented Hyūga original characters to make the clan more 'alive'. However I always wanted to see Hinata together with Neji (or with Hanabi if Neji is dead) changing and reforming the clan for better. I was rooting for the full-scale arc about it. And I never got it in the canon, so for me the Hyūga clan conflict was not solved. I also want to see Hinata as a Hyūga head and matriarch. This would be a great final point for her.

The second weak spot of both ships for me is that both Neji and Hinata are of noble origin and they have a family - a clan that implies traditions, heritage and many other things that both Naruto and TenTen, orphans and low-borns, are not familiar with. And I see here some differences in life values and views that are difficult to overcome.

Oh, I above everything don’t find these ships aesthetically appealing either. NaruHina is too colorful, I prefer calmer and more exquisite color combinations. While NejiTen is the opposite, they are both too ordinary and neutral and their couple is visually nondescript.

NaruHina

I respect NaruHina being canon, I do not reject the fact Kishimoto made them a couple. I even think that with a proper development they would be a nice and attractive canon couple.

Personally for me the way the ship was built up is forced and clamsy. Like, seriously, there were 500+chapters of manga, Hinata nearly committing scide 2 times, one ignored confession, Neji dead, a movie where Hanabi was kidnapped, her eyes torn out, the whole world on the brink of destruction, a bunch of “out-of-nowhere” flashbacks and a genjutsu to make Naruto realize that Hinata likes him and he likes her. It doesn't sound like a well-written and reasonable lovestory for me, I can’t believe in it.

I do not like how the ship develops Hinata as a character and where the ship leads her (I won’t mention the Hyūga clan that was wasted one more time). I see a greater potential in her than being a MC girlfriend whose only function in the plot is to remind how important MC is. Their relationship is based on Hinata blindly fangirling Naruto, not seeing other ppl around her who support her (like Shino, Kiba, Neji, Hanabi, Kurenai) and only waiting for him to notice her. And she is ready to waste her life for it, literally. This is not what I consider an equal romantic partnership and I don't like the whole idea.

One more thing that I don't like in NaruHina is that I don't feel that Hinata is a special person for Naruto. Naruto is a man who cares about everyone, it is his basic character trait. And Hinata will never be the number one for Naruto. It will always be Sasuke, Sakura, Konoha, maybe his children (I’m not sure bc I haven’t watched Boruto), Gaara, Kakashi, Iruka, Konohamaru… whoever but never Hinata. It seems to me that Hinata differs from, for example, Shikamaru only with the fact they are married and she gave birth to his children.

Hinata was deprived of a loving full family, her mother died, her father was not the best warm-hearted and sympathetic father and he put the clan’s matters above his daughters, she was forced to rival Hanabi. And as an adult, as a wife Hinata gets the same. She can find her happiness in children, but is it enough? It's a difficult topic to discuss, and I see that there may be different opinions as usual. I’m just saying that I personally don’t like what NaruHina gives to Hinata.

Probably Naruto and Hinata had some chances if they were developed as a couple and had moments with each other like in s1, but it never happened. In my opinion the chūnin arc did more for NaruHina development than the rest of the story up till today. In Shippuden and later Hinata was stopped in her development and I don’t see her as a person, but only as a functional element that says and does what is needed for the plot. I don’t blame Hinata for this (she is a fictional character after all), it's bad writing to blame. And I don't even blame Kishi only for this, it seems to me he was forced to change the tone of narration starting from Shippuden.

NejiTen

This one is a more interesting case, bc ..... it was actually my first ship =)

This moment is the only one in the canon and in the fillers that shows interaction between Neji and TenTen that can be interpreted as slightly romantic and exactly this moment was the reason why I started to ship them (But then I grew old, rewatched Naruto and movies and realised that Neji is just a gentleman with all female characters. Except Ino, lol.)

Anyway, first things first.

I was 13-14 years old, I watched Naruto s1 and the beginning of Shippuden (Gaara rescue arc, the moment on the screnshot above) and I got access to the Internet. There I learned about 'shipping' and discovered 'fanfiction'. Guess what happened next. Neji was my fav character in Naruto so I was full of intention to find the best couple for him. I didn't like Male x Male ships back then, and even today such ships for Neji are not my cup of tea, so I needed a girl for him. There were two girls around him in the canon - TenTen and Hinata. I did not think much and chose TenTen first because of the moment above. She seemed to be such an obvious variant. They are teammates and there should be a couple in every team, right? So I started googling and reading fanfiction. But it didn't last long. I got bored with excessive OOC and standard romantic plots that could be written about any ship. There was nothing personal and unique about these stories.

And I came across a NejiTen fic where NejiHina was the secondary ship and I loved this secondary ship more than the main. It was so much more reasonable, sensual and tender. I tried more NejiHina fics and it was absolutely different level of storytelling. It is not that I had any prejudices towards NejiHina before, but it were amazing arts and fanfiction that made me take a closer look at them and showed the full potential of this ship. So, from that moment on, NejiHina turned out to be the love of life and here we are :)

Fun fact, but when I returned to Naruto 1,5 year ago and rewatched it, I saw more chemistry between TenTen and Lee. Rock Lee SD is full of cute moments with them, showing how they care about each other. I don’t ship LeeTen, I think there are better candidates for both of them, but I can’t deny that they make a better romantic couple then Neji and TenTen. Well I got carried away again.

There are several moments that make NejiTen not appealing for me.

First one is excessive OOC and canon divergence needed for this ship to happen, bc in canon they don't give a romantic fck about each other, they are just teammates. They don't have any personal moments with one another, there are no conflicts between them or a background story.

Personally I don't consider them to be even close friends, tbh, I think they are colleagues, but this actually doesn't matter.

There are two versions of NejiTen - either Neji is in love with TenTen, but I personally can't imagine it without making him OOC bc there were not even hints that he has any feelings or at least shows some interest for TenTen (and this is totally fine if you, the one who reads this, can imagine it. This is how the shipping works).

The second version is TenTen in love with Neji. But I don't see it being in her character as well. Moreover it makes her just like Sakura and Hinata and I don't like this. TenTen is awesome and unique right because she doesn't have any crushes. She is stubborn and she works hard to become strong just because she enjoys it and not to be noticed by her crush. I like that she is free from all this romantic bullshit about boys. A crush on Neji ruins her badassness and uniqueness for me :(

I like TenTen actually, she is kind, supportive, easy-going and cheerfull person. She also has a good sense of humor. And I like that she is independent and self-confident enough even tho she lacks abilities to be more than avarage-tier shinobi.

I can guess why this ship has so many fans.

First of all, Neji has only two het ship options that are reasonable, they are NejiTen and NejiHina, and NejiTen is not branded as problematic here and there. That’s it.

Above this, TenTen doesn't have an army of haters, unlike Hinata.

Second, it is so easy to assosiate yourself with TenTen because she is just an ordinary girl without any superpowers, any background story. She is perfect to kin yourself with. And I must admit that I myself have a lot in common with TenTen in comparison with other female characters in Naruto. I can understand that most girls will prefer Neji over Lee, because, well, you know, it’s Neji. He is handsome, noble, talented and has many other attractive traits. While Lee is not attractive, some may think he is ugly, he is too emotional that some ppl think is not manly, he doesn't have any superpowers and even tho he is hardworking, he will never be on level of chakra users. He is kind and caring, but just an ordinary boy. The one who is usually friendzoned speaking irl terms. Such boys are usually remembered closer to the age of 30, when there are already several unsuccessful relationships behind, maybe a divorce and children, and at that moment comes the realization that maybe it was worth giving this caring but not attractive boy a chance? He would carry you in his arms and would put the whole world at your feet. But you chose a cold handsome and now it’s too late.

One more point why I don't like NejiTen is that this relationship gives nothing to both characters. I don't see how they can complement each other. They are too different in things that could have connected them, and are too similar in things the couple is supposed to complement each other. The saying “opposites attract” doesn't work for them.

It seems to me that TenTen may wither with Neji, because he is Hyūga, by nature he is a much more closed and reserved person, and he, in turn, may get tired of her excessive emotionality, playfullness, her too emotional reactions, which are a part of her personality. It will be difficult for TenTen to understand why he cannot cut ties with the clan (and Neji the way I see him will never cut ties with the clan by his own will, only if he is exiled from it for some reason), while there will be no place for her in the clan and Neji would have to choose. And I don't feel that TenTen could be a special person for Neji (as much as Hinata for Naruto), someone for whom he could abbandon the clan, his legacy, one for whom he could sacrifice his life. Both are self-sufficient and independent, and if these traits make them efficient team, that can understand eachother with half words, the same traits make them an incompatible couple.

So, I can't imagine Neji and TenTen in a romantic relationship, being insanely in love with each other, dating, getting married and having children. BUT. I can imagine them as the first sexual partners. I think they would be the best candidates for each other and I support this idea with both my hands. I can see them starting this sort of relationship out of curiosity when they were teenagers to get some experience. They could probably try to date with each other in a romantic way but they didn't succeed so they decided to stay as friends with benefits for some prolonged period of time. Both of them are mentally mature and independent enough for this. And when they meet the one they fell in love with they would just stop it without any drama and remain good teammates as they were before.

Not all relationships, especially the first relationships, should end with love till the grave, with a marriage and children. NejiTen is a perfect ship to show that ppl can remain in good terms after having a sexual relationship. Some ppl are just better as friends and colleagues than a romantic couple.

NejiTen actually takes place in my headcanon and I'm ok with it.

To sum up, I’d love to say that we all perceive characters and stories through the lens of personal experience, emotional response, background knowledge and imagination. It is natural that there are different ships and interpretations. But “different” doesn't mean “bad” or “wrong”.

I’m not trying to convince anyone that ship A is bad and ship B is good, I just share my own story and opinion about the ships. So, pls, keep in mind that my opinion doesn't threaten what you like. You are free to ship whatever you want as long it makes your shipper heart bit faster 💜

I would love to see more ppl talking about things they like, sharing ideas, creating content and supporting those who create it and not spreading hate. This will help a lot to make our fandom a better place than it is right now. And we can do it together ✌️

man okay so i’ve been thinking about the ending and the ways i think it’s flawed/my frustrations with it, but also why it does still work enough for me to at least not ruin the series as a whole/how it still tries to fit with the themes?? and i’ve also been applying headcanon to make it work better for me and to make me feel happier about the series overall, so if you’re curious!! take this post lol. (under the cut for length + manga spoilers for the whole series below!)

What initially bugged me about the ending most of all, and I finally managed to put it in words lol, is that there was never an explanation for how Mikey and Takemichi managed to leap back in time and fix everything. Because of that, to me, the key message of “everyone can be saved” and more importantly/centrally, “rely on your friends/don’t try and take on everything alone” gets muddied a bit?? Because it feels more like luck that things happened to work out. Like, Mikey finally puts his full trust in Takemichi and as a result - he ends up killing him!! And seemingly only manages to go back in time due to “luck”/an unexplained miracle. So the message it seems to (accidentally) send is that Mikey was right to try and take on everything alone, because when he put his trust in Takemichi he like. ended up killing him/his worst fear was confirmed??

That perspective on it was enough to put me off the series for a bit ngl, but I still love Tokyo Revengers overall - it has so much good in it that I really wanted to keep liking it, and I do think that the series isn’t completely ruined by the ending! And the main reason I’ve come to think that is because despite everything I just said... even if it’s only indirectly, it is Mikey choosing to open up to Takemichi and trusting him (by releasing his dark impulses after Takemichi said he could handle them) that led to the chain of events that triggered the happy ending. Like, in the end, he believed in Takemichi and trusted him to save him, and was rewarded for that narratively by being given the chance to time leap along with him. The message of “trusting/relying on others” is still there, in the end, even if it’s not as strong as it could’ve been as a result of the indirect way it happens. Hopefully that makes sense, and I hope it can help people come to be at peace with the ending a bit more to think about how it fits the themes of the series!

But also, as for my own reading of the ending... I’ve applied some headcanons that make it work even better for me as well, without actually contradicting canon (I hope). Headcanons are as follows:

So in my mind, Shinichiro’s curse actually had two aspects to it. The first was the punishment for choosing to kill in order to gain the power - but that punishment was technically already paid when Kazutora killed him later on. So Mikey’s curse/dark impulses was, according to this headcanon, not actually a result of Shinichiro becoming a murderer at all - most likely it was just due to the old man’s malice, wanting to hurt the people around Shinichiro as well.

Shinichiro being punished was fair, Mikey being punished for someone else’s crime wasn’t. So maybe the universe (yes, i am giving the universe some level of sentience here lol) gave Mikey a chance to break that curse, if he chose to open up about his struggles and didn’t try and take everything on alone. That could’ve been the condition for breaking the curse for any number of reasons - Mikey has always had a fixation on being “strong” and a hatred of weakness, so maybe the universe just decided that that was a suitable condition, since he’d have to overcome his flaws to do so??

Of course, predictably, Mikey did try and take it all on alone and refused to open up. And I’m not blaming him for that! He clearly thought it was both the only way to protect everyone, and was also deeply afraid of rejection from the people he loved if he actually talked about his issues - on top of letting them down/burdening them. But the point is - if you interpret the curse this way, the final time leap at the end of canon makes sense - it was because Mikey choosing to trust Takemichi to shoulder his burdens fulfilled the condition for breaking the curse. That’s still sort of the case even without headcanons, but here it’s much more directly a result of how the curse functions to begin with, so (at least to me) it feels much less like luck that things worked out??

Hopefully that explanation made some kind of sense LOL i might just be talking nonsense or being pretentious, and if so I apologize!! But for me, I like the concept because it’s just expanding on themes that are already present in Tokyo Revengers just a little more. Personally, if I had to rely too much on headcanon to fix everything, I’d still be super dissatisfied, but since I can tell what Wakui was going for/that message of the story is still present canonically to some extent, I’ve come to feel decently satisfied with the ending overall now!

On another note, I’ve also seen people complain that the show loses impact by making Mikey’s actions a result of the supernatural and not trauma, since it turns the show from an explanation of real-life issues into just a convenient curse that explains everything. I actually think this is a completely fair criticism tbh, but I tend to imagine that what drove Mikey to violence was actually a result of the curse AND his trauma mixing together. Specifically, the curse caused the violent urges, but it was his trauma that led to him being unable to resist them, and his views on strength and weakness that led to him being unable to manage them healthily, if that makes sense??

The way so many modern comic book fans disparagingly refer to new characters as writers’ OCs, when like, yes, technically they are original characters but we can read the tone just fine.....

Idk, just curious when this shift happened and so many people became opposed to work-for-hire/shared universe writers introducing their own new creations into the mix. Like not to be all ‘back in my day’ but its just I do feel like this is a fairly recent thing, like only in the past five years that people started talking about ‘writers’ OCs’ instead of just....calling them new characters.

Bums me pretty hard, ngl. I’ve always been pro-OCs in general (I’ve never felt that like, introducing your own new characters was some kind of sign of ego like ‘oh my take is genius/better than what exists’ but could just as often just be a writer - either fanfic or professional comic book writer - appreciating and partaking in the inherently collaborative nature of building upon existing comic book source material in new ways, by adding their own contributions).

But I just mean....I’m an avid, diehard fan of so many obscure Z-listers in both Marvel and DC, lol, and I definitely get the sentiment ‘there’s not even enough room for all the characters we have already’ but that’s kinda the nature of shared universes as big as Marvel and DC? There hasn’t been enough room for all the characters they already have since before most of us were born. There will NEVER be enough room for all the characters we have. The solution to that isn’t just stop creating new characters or elements, we’re at full capacity....its just. Let writers tell the stories they want to tell with the characters they want to write and judge the resulting work based on how well they execute the story, how compelling it is, how enjoyable you find it, their reasons for using the characters they did and whether or not their cast choices add to the narrative or just take up space, etc, etc....not just....be dismissive because of the mere fact that a writer dared to add their own new creation into the mix.

i'm curious to know which ranking you agree with more, the drivers' or the team principals'? the drivers' is much more aligned with how i would've rated everyone's season. who do you think is more accurate and why? there's a few big discrepancies between the lists. certain biases from the drivers and principals both are definitely coming into play but i'm not sure i can pin down the motives behind those biases.

I'd like to start by pointing out three questions that came to me when I saw them and that I don't have an answer for but think are worth mentioning :

Is there an actual point to this besides creating headlines off-season?

Why do we have points totals for the TPs ranking and not the drivers' one?

Why are there so many ties in the drivers' ranking and none in the TPs' one?

Now let's take a look at the rankings and also add the WDC standings for reference.

The rankings actually aren't that different. Here's my analysis:

No surprises when it comes to Max and Charles.

Sergio Perez is ranked lower than his WDC result by both groups and especially the drivers. It seems to mean they think he's not actually as good as his car allows him to be, I guess. Must hurt. Carlos Sainz is in a similar situation although the difference is less steep. Still, in both cases, I feel like it shows that TPs and drivers consider them both as second drivers rather than big contenders.

They seem to also agree that Lewis' WDC performance doesn't reflect his actual abilities, but the other way around. That is not surprising. What I find interesting is that the TPs ranked him lower than George. George is very very good, that's not the point, I'm not surprised he's ranked high. Rather I think it reflects the fact that some TPs think Lewis has been lacking motivation (we've read such things during the year) and/or they might think he's past his peak. I think it's also noteworthy that there isn't a big difference between them as with the Ferrari and RBR pairs. It shows that nobody is quite clear on the hierarchy between them, we're all waiting to see how next year will go, performance-wise and relationship-wise.

Ngl, and I mean no shade whatsoever, but Lando has never stood out to me. I guess I should pay more attention as he's ranking quite well in all three standings and I know he's often considered as a future champion or whatever but in all honesty I've not seen it from him just yet. I also genuinely wonder if it would have changed something to his ranking if Daniel had had a better time at McLaren.

Alonso is such an interesting case. However much we like to hate on him, and no matter his lack of result for a good number of years, he's still consistently recognized as an extremely good driver by everybody involved in the sport. It's not a surprise to find him there. It's also interesting that although Seb is also in the rankings, he's rated lower and has not benefited from such consistently high opinions throughout his career. I'm not sure if I agree with that or not.

I was surprised at first that Valtteri did not show up in the drivers' top 10 because he's a very, very good driver, as both the TPs recognize and the WDC shows. At the same time, it's not easy to choose a driver in their top 10 that should not be there to make room for him and he did have a bad time in the second part of the season. I wonder if he’s been rated more severely because of expectations based on his time at Mercedes rather than adjusted expectations now that he’s in a less competitive car. Or maybe I’m biased because I’m currently watching past seasons in which he managed to be very competitive in a Williams lol.

I find it sweet that the drivers ranked Alex so high. I like him a lot, but tbh I wonder if it's really based on his performance this year or if it's also at least in part based on them just being happy for him to be back, because his results weren't great. He finished in the points two times more than his teammate in a bad car, sure, and he was coming back from a year out, sure, but then what about Magnussen, 13th in the WDC with twice as many points as Mick after not one but two years out and no time to train for the season? And didn't Esteban do a good job of outranking his very competitive and revered teammate? I guess it just depends on everybody's criteria.
