“You’re delusional,” was Danny’s response. “And also still not over the fact that you missed May fourth.”

Mark lowered the potato. “Well, usually, I rely on supernerd Johannsen for vital dates like that. But since she’s gone, it was your job to pick up the slack! Haven't you seen Star Wars?”

“Of course I have!” Danny exclaimed, crossing his arms. It was almost offensive that Mark would think for a second that Danny hadn’t seen Star Wars. “But you forgot about May fourth too! Don’t try to pin this on me. I’m not your personal C3P-O.”

“No, you’re more of a Chewbacca.”

Okay, now his angsty mood had entirely turned into offense. “The hell is that supposed to mean?”

“Well, I’m Han Solo, obviously.”

“Why do you get to be Han Solo?”

It was as if Danny had just asked why rockets exist if Mark’s expression was anything to go by. His eyebrows shot to his hairline, and his mouth opened with a comical amount of confidence—or was it arrogance—as he gestured to himself and answered, “Well, duh.”

As if that were supposed to sum it up.

“That explains nothing!” Danny argued.

“It’s quite literally the only bit of explanation you need, Chewie.”

“I’m not Chewbacca.”

“And the sky isn’t orange.”

Okay, all the prying into Danny’s personal business? That was rough, Danny had to admit. But this?

I know that peach game is like. For kids. Im SO aware of it. But its. So fucking cheap???? This is like the bloatware of nintendo games. What is going on here ???? Not to give nintendo even an ounce of credit…but they generally treat their main characters better than this. And especially after seeing mario wonder, its really obvious how poorly put together and boring this game is. Which is such a shame. Bc Super Princess Peach is right there. Go play that instead.

#much ado about nothing #i am finally reading this play #the 29th shakespeare play ive read and im just finally getting to this extremely popular comedy #u can question my choices if u want im ok w that #shakespeare #beatrice #elizabethan literature #english renaissance #comedy #also i bought another edition of the shakespeare simply bc. i wanted tah. #this one has different supplementary material and it's not as chunky and unwieldy as the riverside (even tho the riverside is my beloved) #it was only like 14 bucks or so where i bought it #shakespeare: 23 plays and the sonnets revised edition edited by thomas marc parrott #it sparked joy #it's also so beautiful and has so many plated illustrations of performances over the years #it makes me soooo happy i have no regrets #as im getting closer to finishing the plays i haven't yet read im realizing that im going to want to reread them all my life #like i just have an inexhaustible love of shakespeare. unfortunately #so rich in magic and wonder and meaning. he really is one of The Greats #i like a lot of old dead people who wrote poems very specific to their time and place #and shakespeare belongs very firmly to his own time and place but the complexity and richness of his work really is so eternal #his stories and characters are fundamentally human and i do think upon a proper acquaintance just abt anyone can find smth to love in them. #the praise of shakespeare is not hollow. he's Really That Good #ive read so much literature in my life from various times places and cultures. only a drop in the bucket are Really That Good

#we finally painted the exterior of our house. bought it over three years ago and it needed so much work #but we finally got enough done that it made sense to paint. #since it all took so long we had pleeeeeenty of time to pick a color #i painted huge swatches on the back of the house and we stared at them for over a year #i was terrified of picking something ugly lol im not a designer and my wife DEFINITELY isnt #but anyway ever since we had it painted a few weeks ago I've been OBSESSED WITH IT #it literally looks so fucking good like SOOOO GOOD #we picked the PERFECT COLOR. its blue but its not too dark and not too light #not too saturated and not too gray. a tiny hint of green but not a lot #it looks amazing with the red brick of the chimney and the reddish stain on our front door #it looks amazing with the green of all my wife's plants in the garden #it looks amazing in every lighting at every hour of the day #well someone just showed up at my door like 'hi i live in the neighborhood and we're gonna paint our house' #and 'my wife and i love this color and i was wondering if you remember the name of it' #YES. i don't mind discomfort* but my shoes came apart at the seams so i had to buy a new pair and they are the same type as my old ones (that i dismissed after eight years of service because they had genuine holes in the leather) but they really don't flatter my always bad look and they weren't cheap but i needed them but it was a big expense i wasn't expecting to have right now but it was kinda necessary but now i am running down a semi-suicidal spiral

What's your interpretation of the weird/annoyed look Five gets on his face when Tegan announces that she wants to rejoin the TARDIS at the end of Arc of Infinity? I know it was probably meant to be played for laughs, but it annoys me every time i watch that episode and i'm curious what headcanons people have about it.

My favourite thing I've read about it pointed out that the cybermen specifically used Tegan as a weakness against five, that she's what it took to manipulate him (and through no fault of either of them, Adric's death was part of those consequences.) The novelisation really goes in to the descriptions of the doctor transfixed with the blood running down Tegan's chin from her bitten lip, the building tension as the cybermen get closer and closer to killing her and he's shaking trying to hold himself back from admitting his hearts are so easy to twist, just by threatening his friends. (Does Nyssa ever leave the TARDIS when it's on the spaceship? The cybermen don't even know she exists til they come onboard do they?)

As for why he looks so annoyed? hmmm. Does anyone want someone around that constantly needles them? Really, I think pre Arc of Infinity that even though Tegan had chosen to stay, they still had that power imbalance or even just tension between them that she had not come on board willingly. So five is expecting that to be the continuing, I don't know, continuing manner between them and it hadn't been good. It had its moments (mainly in the audios) but as an arrangement it was not ideal as friends to explore the universe together, all that terrible beauty and awesome monsters.

But it doesn't continue on in that manner - oh they bicker and make faces at each other, sure, but Tegan's conscious decision to step back onto the TARDIS irons out those imbalances, removes that bitterness and the past of her aunt's death. So when he makes that wee face, it's in expectation of the previous status quo. And never let it be said that Tegan's one to do exactly what's expected of her.

Anyway I really hope this makes sense and I may add some more thoughts later but it's 1:50 am Christmas Eve and I couldn't sleep for thinking about this.

It's 2am I'm back. I feel like there's also this uneasiness in five about tegan, that mirror that no one likes being held up to themselves. Their similarities but the starkly different ways they express them must be exhausting to five. and here she is back again. To push and prod and challenge and be brashly beautifully glorious. wait. that last bit was the two am shipper coming out. Anyway they draw strength and resolve and anger from each other and Tegan was vital to five, from his first moments till his very last.

#long depressing rant in the tags incoming ig? take warning!! #maybe it’s bc it’s 3am and i’m tired or maybe it’s bc of the 8-9 hour old fried vermicelli that i just gave up on eating but my head hurts~~ #or maybe it could even be bc i spent like 3 hours unpacking my boxes (note: my fam moved last month) instead of chilling like i wanted to… #either way i saw some things while unpacking that i really should’ve left in the distant past and i’m feeling as empty as my stomach pre-米粉 #though i did uncover a dogtag i had engraved years ago with nothing but a ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) on it so that was pretty funny #but other than that… i remembered all the weird things i had given up on in the past via the things i unearthed… #like cooking! i unpacked this huge 1k+ page thick cookbook thing and remembered that i had a phase where i liked to cook #then i remembered that i had mistaken salt for sugar while making some meat dish with a ton of soy sauce and byebye cooking confidence :( #and to add to that i also read a past essay of mine about my culture and i remembered my grandma and i. yeah. #and i also saw stuff from my old hobbies that i had to give up on due to money/time constraints and i just. yeah. #and not to forget all the stuff from my former friends… i swear i always get ghosted the moment we affirm that we’re friends lol #am i a walking maxed social link or something? lol? yeah i have no irl friends. none. #i’ve gotten used to it though~ i don’t mind having no friends. it leaves me with more time for myself and my sleep~ #it’s just that… sometimes i get the urge to hop over the country border for some ~chewing gum~ shopping… but there’s no one to go with lol #or like when i see interesting-looking events going on at local attractions but there’s no one to check it out with… or something. #and that got me wondering… am i just wasting my life or something? it’s a new year right? so i should make some lifestyle changes too right? #…​and so i bought a hairdryer for the first time a few days back. yeah. that’s enough change for 1 year. lol #who needs friends when you can have a nice warm hairdryer? blast away good pal!!!!!!!!!!!! #anyways yeah. that’s my 3am rant of the day. sorry if you read this lol #sunday’s 🧂saltfest🧂 #h e lp i forgot to disable rbs on this for a bit i hate 3am brain smmmm </3
