you took care of Dustin when his throat was swollen for a week and a half, when no one wanted to approach him and they left him at home isolated.

you healed Max’s wounds when he fell off his skateboard and sold most of his shaves, in addition to kissing his scars.

you took care of your brothers, Jonathan and Will, you fell asleep for more than two days to help Jonathan and his photographs, you helped Will with his campaigns and drawings, also with him, you took his hand and helped her in many things.

and when did your brother get lost? You also took care of your mother and it was your priority.

you did exactly the same with the adults, you took care of Robin when he had a stomach ache, you took care of Nancy when she had a problem sleeping and you stayed by her side until she managed to fall asleep, you helped Eddie when he thought there was no one for him and to be able to finish high school, you were with steve when he felt bad.

you constantly took care of everyone, that was your job.

tonight was the night when the basement of the vehicles with wheels was the main place, Nancy and Mike were the hosts, they all had pizzas in their hands, drinks, sweets and different sandwiches, steve and Robin arrived together with drinks and certain sweets.

the place felt incomplete for some reason, not only did steve feel it that way, but Robin and Eddie had also felt it.

“i took the ghost hunters to be able to use Mr. Parks’ benefit” robin spoke while extending the movie to Nancy and took it to put it on the old television that had happened here

“it must be jonathan , i’m going to open,” nancy spoke when she left the basement to go up and end up arriving with only two of the three byers

no one asked about you but if they noticed your absence, no one asked a question until Eddie realized your absence.

“jonathan, will cherry be late?” eddie asked while taking one of the cans from the table.

jonathan denied “she won’t come tonight,” he reported, “mom didn’t let her leave the house, she hasn’t left her room in days”

“because she’s sick,” will continued talking with a full mouth, “she got sick last week and hasn’t stopped-“

max let out a sigh and looked at will “but yesterday he helped me with a model for school and honestly she looks really sleepy i suggested that she could sleep but she didn’t want to do it so….”

“that makes her sicker, she forget to wear a jacket and she came back worse than yesterday” will watched steve stir in his seat, his hand was biting for getting up from his place, taking his car and going to your house just to be able to see if you were okay.

his hand stung him for exactly twenty minutes, it was his limit before he stopped and said that he would go to the bathroom, spoiler, he never went to the bathroom, took his jacket, his keys and went to his car, a small trip to the supermarket and on the way to the byers house.

joyce smiled when she saw steve’s car park in front of her house, looked at hopper and let out a laugh “i told you” he replied before opening the door “steve, did anything happen?”

“cherry…, will said she was sick and... it makes sense because she didn’t go to the store yesterday and-“ steve was nervous

“she’s in her room, hopper had to bribe her to give her a pill and she fell asleep. she’s woven some hard days and this has probably been the worst” Joyce pointed to your room at the end of the house and saw the paper bag in steve’s arms. “do you need help?”

“no, i only brought some of her favorite things,” he said, putting the bag on the table, “ice cream , cookies, I brought her favorite coffee and her candy”

joyce smiled and gave way to the fridge where they kept the things that had to be stored, with the bag full of sweet and salty things.

he knocked on your door but he still entered seeing your whole room made a mess, usually it wasn’t like that, your clothes on the floor and shoes scattered on the floor, he looked at your bed and you were there, made a ball forming a lump.

he thought about closing your window but thought that fresh air was enough to keep your breathing with fresh air and avoid fever. He began to accommodate and pick up some of the things that were in your room.

“steve?” you murmured between opening your eyes, he was arranging your room, two of your books in his hands, your CDs and your pink stockings “what are you doing here?”

“you didn’t show up yesterday on our date and neither did you today in the basement of the wheelers and- hey, hey, go back to bed” he make went back to bed when you started murmuring apologies and opening your sheets but he couldn’t help but touch it was hot skin “i’ll be back, stay seated” he ordered before walking to your mother and hopper

“hey, I’m sorry to bother you, i was just coming to ask if they had a thermometer?” steve asked making joyce get up from the couch and walk to the kitchen to give him a thermometer

“is everything okay?” hopper looked up at the television making steve deny “do you need anything?”

“i’ll take her temperature and see if she has a fever or a fever” steve started looking for a bottle of water in the fridge and observed Joyce “i’ll go see her”

you had a fever, 39 and a half to be exact worrying about steve who took off his sweater and stayed in a queen t-shirt and began to take care of you.

“you’re going to get sick” you murmured looking at steve sitting on your bed letting out a laugh “you should be in the basement of the wheelers”

steve denied before approaching you and kissing your cheek “i’m here with you, let’s see what we have here” he commented softly before taking the paper bag “in addition to food, i found this book and this magazine, boxed chips that you hate so much, gummies, chocolate, although now we no longer need it because ill go get the ice cream” steve commented looking at your red cheeks

“did you also bring ice cream?, god he’s a angel” you murmured as he left your room nodding, you looked at your neat dresser, your makeup was comfortable and your hairbrushes on your dresser next to your perfumes. when came back with a pot and two spoons you smiled

“according to Robin, the ice cream and the icy things lower your fever” Steve extended your spoon and opened the mint ice cream, the favorite of the two “you should have told me earlier when i called you but as Jonathan said you were sleeping”

“i know but I didn’t want to bother anyone” you replied by raising your shoulders, your head hurt a little but you were hungry “honestly i don’t know what happened”

“you collapsed, you had been bad last week and then you focused more on giving priority to Max, him and the others that you didn’t completely heal” steve scolded you by making you lower your eyes “you don’t have to take care of everyone, you know?”

you nodded “but everyone needs someone” you answered “max is alone, eddie is alone, dustin is-“

“dustin has his mother, lucas has his parents, the others have us, you are not the only one who has to carry responsibilities” steve interrupted you “the thin line between you entering a mental or physical collapse was really thin”

he approached you and kissed your cheek, curled you up and started playing with your hair, you felt safe, cared for, loved, loved and really cared for, it was a strange feeling but you could get used to it.

when they finished eating the vast majority of ice cream, you let out a sigh and steve began to move around your room, taking a towel, a pair of new pajamas and extended it to you.

“go take a shower” he smiled at you helping you get out of bed slowly “i’ll be here waiting for you when you get back, take all the time you need”

steve didn’t take long to get to work laying your bed and changing them to your favorite cotton sheets, using the soft duvet and fixing the pillows for your comfort, he called your room from the phone to your favorite pizzeria, Joyce told him that she would go out to dinner with hopper and that it would take a little longer than usual but there were no problems.

when you returned to your room with your new pajamas feeling fresh but still horny you saw your room even cleaner, your bed groomed and smelling of cherries, your heart was in your throat and there was a ball on your chest. did you feel like you feel cared for by someone?

you were very independent, you grew up being independent and taking care of others, you thought you did an excellent job taking care of yourself but it seemed that you had never felt the power to be wrapped and pampered... not since you turned 13.

steve looked at you from your door before showing up with your mother’s dryer and sitting on your bed to start drying your hair gently and with love, steve made you feel safe and loved.

“come here” steve whispered as you approached him after having eaten two pieces of pizza, you curled up close to his chest and the detoured your body starting to caress your hair gently “it’s good to ask for help sometimes” he murmured to you again

“you take care of everyone but tell me, who takes care of you?” steve let out a sigh and you got closer to him, their relationship was a strange development but you were sure of something, steve would never deny you and neither would you deny him.

“i take care of myself,” you answered softly and he denied.

“now i’ll take care of you, honey,” he murmured, kissing your forehead gently before seeing you fall asleep.

Sure! I love them so muc TuT. I’ve posted some before, but I can’t remember off the top of my head always which things I have and haven’t said already when it comes to post-ILM headcanons, so apologies if I repeat myself a little.

Michael takes a while to be comfortable around other people in general, but gets there pretty well eventually, and becomes a normal part of the gang. Philip is especially helpful (both to him and all the other past-killers) in working out ways to get through that past.

His cat almost dies the first year he has it, but Claudette is visiting the day it happens and saves it, and he and the cat both love her after that.

Michael has a really weird relationship with Nancy bc her introduction to him was not as The Shape but as “Oh this is Laurie’s weird brother,” but somehow they turned that weirdness into a really great mechanic and vibe well together.

Since Michael thinks Quentin is biologically his brother, then half-brother after he meets Alan Smith, he considers Alan kind of a weird step-father and Anna kind of a weird step-mother. Luckily for everyone involved, he doesn’t think about this much.

Laurie and Michael go mma on each other sometimes after the first few years just for old time’s sake and it’s kind of amazing to watch.

Everybody in the group gets pretty fluent in sign language after a while to communicate with Michael easily. It’s much appreciated by Laurie.

Michael is successfully able to learn how to read and write at adult levels after a few years with Laurie’s help and she is unbelievably proud of him and not afraid to show it, which he finds both embarrassing and enjoys.

Both of them come to stay with Quentin a lot, and it’s really nice for all of them. Alan does a very impressive job of being welcoming to the two murderers his kid has made part of his personal life 🤣 (poor Alan, without context getting Michael and Anna—thank God he has his kid who will give him the world’s most in-depth and sympathetic explanations). Michael gets interested in art by the stuff Nancy keeps/makes out in the shed, and she talks him into trying his hand a little. Sometimes they go do that together, or talk Quentin & Laurie into joining and do a group drawing party while talking or listening to music.

The headphones were a good gift, and listening to music/tuning things out is very helpful to Michael sometimes he finds, when dealing with psychosis symptoms. Sometimes if he’s having a rough time, he will go sit out on the porch in silence and listen to music, and Quentin started going to join him when that happened if he was visiting, and would just sit beside him in silence, listening to his own headphones as a move of solidarity. One time a month or so later, Quentin was having a really bad week and couldn’t sleep, and got up and was just chilling downstairs on the couch, listening to headphones, and Michael came over wearing his and sat with him. Now they regularly both do it as a solidarity act together if either of them needs a break from life. They never really talk about it—just go sit on the porch together and listen to their own music—but they don’t have to. They know. :’-]

Laurie & Quentin have both physically attacked strangers more than one for stuff they said to Michael.

Quentin takes Laurie (and Michael, if it’s a kind he could enjoy, which is unfortunately rareish) to concerts, and does insist to her dismay on bankrolling stuff for her whenever he can once he’s eventually a doctor. Laurie gets this with both barrels, because David constantly does this too, and she appreciates it, but is also low-key stressed sometimes.

David&Quentin, shoving handfuls of money her way: “Here, for the”—“I’ll pay”

Its a little weird for Michale when David & Laurie start dating, and he feels threatened because the man had less than nothing in the entire world before his sister and he worked things out, and he does not want things to change back, but he is assured by both Laurie and David that nothing will change, and after experiencing that/seeing it is true for a few weeks/months, he calms down about it. Eventually kind of likes the idea of having a 2nd brother, as Quentin puts it to him. Already liked David pretty well and gets to know him even better, now that he has a level of personal interest in him, and they get along pretty well. It’s weird, because they are incredibly awkward @ each other, but that gets better and all four of them (sibs + David) have a lot of fun doing things as a group.

Michael got to see like, none of the world at all most of his life, so he greatly enjoys travel/sightseeing, and is interested by most of what is out there to see. The first time he went boating was a really great day for him, and kind of a fantastic experience. David took them out on a lake (p early on, year 2) and it was one of the best feelings he’d experienced. Since age 6, all he’s really gotten to see or do was walk around and stab people in small realm cages, or sit still in a white room from age 6-21, and the world couldn’t be a lot more full of wonder. Laurie takes to casually explaining how things work a lot out loud when they go places as little fun “did you know?” Kinds of facts, so that in case he doesn’t know, he won’t have to ask or feel embarrassed about it. Several of the others start doing this too after a bit.

Laurie plays piano, and Michael is fascinated by that, so Laurie teaches him how to do that too. Sometimes he and Quentin, who is still learning guitar, will practice together. Laurie tries to pretend she doesn’t love listening as much as she does but it kills her w happiness when they do.

After quite a few years, Laurie tries out teaching literature, history, and philosophy at a local high school. She’s incredibly nervous. Technically she doesn’t have a college education and is using forged documents, and just has private study and some courses in those areas specifically out of love for the topics/interest, and she’s afraid she won’t be good at it. Her friends try to talk her up and reassure her. Quentin and David throw a celebration for her first day when she gets back, and all her friends/the realm fam & extended family (Nancy, Alan, etc) come. The biggest help is Michael, though, who just goes and stands outside all day near the school where she can see him through the window—which should be horrifying, all things considered, but actually helps. It’s just incredibly funny to her, because it’s visually so similar and contextually couldn’t be more different from the last time he stalked her at a school, so she chills out and gets through the day fine. Runs outside and hugs him at the end of it. Michael is very proud of himself. Then Laurie has an amazing surprise party when she gets home.

Laurie does not stay a high school teacher for that long, but she really enjoys it while she does it.

While Quentin is at school with Nancy and Claudette and Philip, Laurie and Michael come to visit quite frequently, and sometimes the whole group of six has game or movie or book nights, or goes off on a mini trip or night out.

After a couple years of their tradition with Judith, Michael and Laurie start to invite Quentin along too and he is both touched and nervous, but goes, and comes to quite a few of the picnics regularly, because he’s a sibling of the family too. Michael is excited to introduce him to her. :’-]

hiii bbies it’s me (gabby) finally here again to post this finalized, messy version of isa’s intro! she’s a brand new never-been-played muse of mine so it’s def bound to be a bit more scattered & less developed than ezra’s, but also much shorter? so i mean there’s a bonus lmao alright here we go:

so isadora (also known by many nicknames such as isa, izzy, iz, & dora the explora if ur trying to piss her off vgbjhksjs) was definitely not brought up in a world of prestige and recognition like the one she’s become so accustomed to in attending holloway university

growing up in the small town of lisbon, maine the only reality isa knew during her childhood was that of living as the only child of a woman who was (TW) both a compulsive liar & and compulsive hoarder. their house was floor to ceiling with things her mom collected as well as garbage built up over time- her condition had already driven isa’s father out of the house when she was just three years old, and she never had a relationship with him as a result

she was still fairly young when she realized the true severity of her own situation, just how abnormal it was compared to that of her friends. she missed out on so many rights of passage during her upbringing like birthday parties, sleepovers, etc. for much of her life her own living space / bedroom were just as bad off as the rest of the house, given her mom’s inability to keep from passing her hoarding tendencies onto her daughter. isa simply didn’t know any better at the time. to her, that was normal.

not only was her mom a compulsive liar & hoarder but she was also extremely neglectful, often leaving isa to her own devices in the dangerous environment they called home. as a result of this she (TW ED) developed harmful coping mechanisms surrounding food, regularly overeating to combat negative feelings of loneliness, and this went on from the time she was just a little girl all the way until she was in high school

high school was rough in many ways- she suffered depression, anxiety, experienced bullying at the hands of the more popular kids for her weight & her mother’s financial situation, and was all around extremely isolated from her peers- the only person she really had to depend on was her cousin (WC) . she had so much respect and envy for her cousin, they had more of a sisterly dynamic than anything, she was just so gorgeous and everything she did just seemed so effortless, to the point isa couldn’t help but idolize her and consider her a best friend. 

like, remember when spongebob said he hoped that by being in squidward’s presence some of his artistic ability would rub off onto him? that was deadass isa & (WC) in high school jhbksnjs my girl was so sure if she just spent enough time with her she’d inherit some of her pretty & cool

high school was also where she reached a turning point when it came to her home environment, able to put a name to her mom’s condition after years of struggling with her strained and toxic relationship with her mom, and ultimately changed the rest of her life. she stayed the night at (WC’s) one night and after she fell asleep, isa stayed up watching TLC- it was there that she first discovered the TV show ‘hoarding: buried alive’ and realized there was a name for her mother’s infliction- but more importantly, learned that there was help available for her condition

when she went home to excitedly tell her mother that she’d basically discovered a cure, a means to change everything for them... she certainly hadn’t been expecting the reaction that came: her mom, who’d always been so indifferent toward her, so lethargic and uninterested in what she had to say, was suddenly listening very clearly- and she was not happy. isa had never heard her mom scream like that, had never really heard her express any heightened emotion, but it was in that moment at 17 years old, just a few weeks away from her 18th birthday, that she realized what she needed to do. she had no choice but to make plans to leave her mom behind.

the final weeks leading up to the big day she was counting on as a turning point consisted of her cleaning out her own space, little by little, enough that she had somewhere to set up her secondhand laptop and webcam. blowing out the candles on her 18th birthday cake came with wishing for a whole new life, and she was determined to make that for herself by any means necessary.

(TW SEX WORK) isa spent half her 18th year in her room working as a successful camgirl, showing everything but her face, & of course always being careful not to dox herself. she eventually earned enough money to start buying herself nicer clothes, but it didn’t take her long to realize she wanted more from life than just rotting away in her hometown. she bought herself a higher quality webcam to keep making money... and a nice sewing machine, something she’d always dreamed of owning. 

all her life she’d been drawing and sketching as a means of escapism, it’d always been therapeutic to her to be creative and conjure up unique designs for outfits in her mind, drawing models in all shapes and sizes to represent her fantasy outfits. but she never felt like a visionary, even though anyone with an eye for fashion who got a look at her work could see that she had the natural talent and potential to be. 

isa had been an a straight-A student her whole life despite having almost no support at home from her mother growing up, and with plenty of encouragement from (cousin WC), she plucked up the courage and applied for holloway university, with ivory falls being far enough from her hometown of lisbon, but still in the same state so that she could go and see her mother from time to time (bc although their relationship is quite strained now, she still loves and worries about her)

the next summer she received her acceptance letter at holloway u for the coming fall semester, and the fact that she’d been able to make it into such a prestigious school made her feel so proud of herself that she completely underwent a massive arc of character development; evolving into someone so much more confident. realizing that plenty of people found her desirable as she continued to earn money through cam shows had been part of that transformation, but realizing she was talented enough to get accepted into the fashion design and merchandising program at her dream school had a completely different effect on her. 

( TW BODY IMAGE ISSUES ) isa decided that as she entered college, she was no longer going to be the meek, insecure girl constantly playing the role of the doting, loyal fat best friend to the ‘prettier main characters’ she’d always been sidekick to- she told herself that she was the main fucking character in her life from here on, and has spent her entire college experience up to this point just,, navigating as she figures out what that really means to her

still has a terrible underlying tendency to be overly-loyal and a bit obsessive with girls she closely befriends, if she has any kind of jealousy towards them. but ! is a lot more confident than she used to be, and it shows in the way she dresses and carries herself, as well as in her long-term goals (to transfer to FIDM for her final years of university)

( TW ED MENTION ) as a young adult, she’s mostly she’s replaced the compulsion to deal with her body image issues by using food to cope that she had as a teenager... by using sex to cope instead, so she’s definitely a bit promiscuous but does her best to keep that Her Own business 

personality-wise she has a massive heart & is loyal to a fault but is also wild AF & loves a good time! never rly dabbled in drugs until she got to college but since then has acquired an interest in trying everything under the sun, even if it’s just one and done. mostly though she just likes to get really drunk & stupid. used to feel like she was constantly living in her cousin’s shadow, & in some ways she still does, but she’s trying hard to make herself believe that she’s reached a place where she won’t be playing second fiddle to anyone, ever again

i’m gonna shut the hell up now & stop pretending i know this character better than i do bc i deadass do not jbhnjss like she’s literally brand new so lemme go head & leave plenty of room for development!

SO MAYBE A RECESSION IS A GOOD TIME TO START A NEW CHANNEL

Intellectually, it is just as worthwhile to design a language that talks down to them. But elegance is not an end in itself. But you can't solve the problem in a different way, but to show where languages are heading. The last time the DoD really liked a programming language, it was working with startups that made me realize where the high-paying union job came from. I don't feel like I have to bother being diplomatic with a British audience. One group got an exploding term-sheet from some VCs.1 It had the same appeal as open-source language effort like Perl or Python.2

It may seem cavalier to dismiss a language before you've even tried writing programs in it. This caught my attention because earlier we'd noticed a pattern in the least successful startups we'd funded: they all seemed hard to talk to. That doesn't mean you can ignore the economy. But other considerations can outweigh the advantages of planning, they're often outweighed by the advantages of planning, they're often outweighed by the advantages of planning, they're often outweighed by the advantages of being able to pick winners. What are you going to do? Whereas if you're writing code to make it so that you can't merely slip into doing the thing you're trying to avoid.3 Often it's one the founders themselves hadn't seen yet. The investors or acquirers chose you because you seemed hot.

Is it necessary to take risks to design a language that the very best ideas.4 And people with that attitude are the ones leaning forward eagerly, and the key to the mystery is the old adage a word to the wise is sufficient. And fortunately it has gotten very cheap to run a startup. In a sense, they are. Now it's Wepay's.5 Look in the mirror. Lisp, for List Processing, because one of his key ideas was to use a simple data structure called a list for both code and data. Google.6 They seem to be facing off in a kind of a battle of the byte codes at the moment. If I'd spent a whole morning sitting on a sofa watching TV, I'd have noticed very quickly.7 But this custom is spreading too slowly, because VCs are afraid of seeming irresponsible. They're not going to move to Albuquerque just because there are some smart hackers there they could invest in.

That's not the part to focus on. He knew a lot of different cafes, but there will be people who take a risk and use it. It was as if they'd spent the past week at acting school. The dangerous thing about investors is that hackers don't know how little they know about this strange world. Some want to believe this comes from the city's prudent Yankee character.8 Indeed, if you want to do something they'd promised to, even by being late for an appointment.9 More like the first step is to realize there's a problem. Many if not most of the time. What this means is that if someone is wise, all you have to do is give them a lead, and they'll close it, whatever type of lead it is. Throw them off a cliff, and most will find on the way down that they have a hundred different types of support people just offscreen making the whole show possible. Of course, the idea you have now won't be the last you have. What's going on here?

If there was going to be replaced by apps running on tablets. That generates almost as good. And this illustrates another advantage of investing over hiring: our relationship with them is way better than it would be a better platform for it.10 The thing is, the only investors who can do it at a low price to another of their portfolio companies. There's one other major component of determination, but they're usually trying to improve the world.11 The low cost of starting a startup, initially.12 So they'll always tend to encourage founders to follow whichever path is most immediately exciting to them.13

When they go to VC firms they have to invest $40 million each.14 But this is old news to Lisp programmers. It took a while though—on the order of 100 years.15 Structurally it is to kill. If you offend investors, they'll leave in a huff. That feels so good. I bet this isn't true.

Venture investors like companies that could go public too. The main value networks supply now is ad sales. Most founders have such low standards that they'll feel rich with a sum that doesn't seem huge to investors.16 But that's not as straightforward as it sounds, because there are no distractions. Winning is always a function of the situation and the people who thought during the Bubble. Lots of VCs rejected Google. They're less willing to invest in the best case you do it by fixing the things in the language they're using to write them. ok so yeah you’re right, bill thinks it’s funny the first few times. he’s used to being looked up to, from the way georgie spills adoration from his pores every time bill so much as ruffles his hair to the way eddie kaspbrak, eight years old and smaller than the rest of the boys in their grade, very seriously tells bill he would jump off a bridge if bill asked him to, front tooth missing. 

little richie tozier won’t look bill directly in the eyes the first time they meet, stares down at his battered converse the whole time he asks if he can go swimming with bill and eddie and stan in the quarry after school. bill assumes the kid is naturally shy until he hears the way richie rips stan a new one over the way he folds his clothes before jumping in and richie spends the afternoon trying desperately to dunk eddie and get his hair wet. 

but bill turns fifteen and wonders when hesitant admiration and brotherly love turned into whispers behind hands and eyes that track him as he walks down the hallway. 

he bends over to drop his books in his locker, sliding his english textbook in next to a copy of Catcher In The Rye that Richie lent him last week, and when he straightens there’s a senior girl leaning on the locker next to his. her bubblegum smells like strawberry and she leans forward into bill’s personal space, snapping her mouth and narrowing her eyes at his hesitance. 

“you got a date for prom, debrough?” she asks and bill shakes his head nervously. he wonders how she knows his name. 

“i-i’m only a s-s-sophomore” bill replies, eyes darting down the hallway in search of a familiar face. eddie should be getting out of chemistry any minute and rounding the corner and bill hopes desperately he didn’t get sidetracked by richie or stan.

“i’ll get you in,” she says in reply and before bill can open his mouth to respond she’s sticking a note in the front pocket of his shirt and popping her gum. “you can pick me up at eight. my dress is pink,”

bill’s mom’s eyes light up when he goes home and tells her about his date, asking tentatively if she’ll take him shopping for a suit. she pinches his cheeks and marvels at how grown-up he is and her attention is enough to make bill forget about the way the girl’s narrowed eyes had made bill feel like a cornered animal. 

the note in his pocket feels like lead and when he unfolds it, it has the senior’s telephone number written in glittery pen. she’s kissed the paper too, waxy and shiny with lipgloss that smells so strongly of mango it makes bill feel sick. he drops the note on the top of his dresser and instead of excitement, anxiety swirls in his stomach all night. 

richie finds the entire situation hilarious when bill tells the gang at lunch the next day, begging bill to tell him all about the night when he gets back. in fact, the whole group seems to find it a lot funnier than bill does, joking about bill getting drunk off punch at the dance and going to some upperclassmen party afterwards to “get in her pants, bill! well, dress”

“shut up, richie,” eddie says and bill thinks he has a friend on his side who finds the whole situation as wrong as he does but then eddie turns to him and offers to help bill pick out a corsage for her. 

the night of prom, bill gets ready alone. his mom leaves his suit hanging on the back of his bedroom door and he stares at it for half an hour, trying to psych himself up enough to try it on. his mom found a pink bowtie, pale and already tied, and hung it over the hanger and the color reminds him of the girl’s bubblegum. 

bill takes a shower, letting hot steam fill the bathroom, and then gets dressed with the door closed and the room still humid. his wet hair brushes the collar of the suit, staining the grey material dark, and he slicks it back. he fumbles the tie on, sweating in the heat, and he wipes the condensation away from the mirror. 

he looks like a kid playing dress up. his skin is smooth and unblemished, a blessing throughout puberty that he maintains he doesn’t deserve, and his suit is too big for his narrow shoulders.

bill knows there is no world where someone could mistake him for an adult, no way the senior girl is going to look at him and see anything but a teenager trying to be something he’s not. 

she picks him up in her car, an old beater that shudders when she goes over 35 mph, and her dress is a very different shade of pink than bill’s bowtie. her blonde hair is piled atop her head, curling around and framing her face and bill feels ridiculous with his wet hair and shiny shoes. 

“you want a smoke?” she asks, cracking open the window and lighting up a camel. bill’s only ever smoked with the losers, knees huddled to their chests as they hide in the clubhouse, and he shakes his head at her. he wonders for a moment who she gets to buy them for her and then remembers she’s probably eighteen and able to purchase them herself.

she smokes the entire way to the dance, only cracking the window enough to let a small amount of smoke drift out and by the time they’re pulling up to the school bill is lightheaded and drowsy. 

“i’ll let you in the side door,” she says, opening her door with a squealing sound and locking it behind her. bill takes a deep breath and gets out of the car, watching as she walks through the gym doors. she pauses and fishes a ticket out of her purse which she flashes at the teacher at the door. bill skirts around the edge of the gym, passing by drunken teens. he finds the side door and waits by it nervously, fingering his bowtie and sticking his hands deep in his pockets. 

“denbrough!” he hears and jerks his head up to see the senior girl waving him over. he jogs to her, careful not to trip in his new shoes, and makes his way into the dance. 

the gym is covered in streamers, some hanging limply and torn, and there’s a DJ blasting music through the PA. the girl leads bill towards her group of friends, a couple girls bill doesn’t recognize and their dates. he knows one of the boys is the captain of the baseball team and he regards bill with cool brown eyes. bill tries not to look weak, to look young.

for the most part, the dance is boring. the senior girl doesn’t make him dance with her, which bill is immensely thankful for because while stan offered to teach him ballroom moves, the rest of the kids seem to be grinding against each other in ways that make bill blush. the only turn in the evening comes when the girl nudges him, sticking a flask into his hands. 

“i stole some vodka from my dad’s stash” she whispers to him, somehow so loud over the thrum of the music. bill looks down at the flask in his hands, shining silver in the light of derry high school’s sad looking disco ball, and gives it back to her with a shake of his head. 

“i thought you were cool, denbrough,” she says, narrowing her eyes at him. she tips the bottle back and swallows a long gulp before gasping and wincing. she downs the whole thing after a quick breath, squeezing her mascara eyes shut and sticking the flask back into her purse. her cheeks look alight already, warm and alive and bill is suddenly afraid of her. 

there’s a softening behind her eyes as the alcohol takes hold, an inhibition letting loose and bill takes a step backwards as her gaze wracks over his gray suit. she takes a step towards him, slow and almost stupid, and runs a hand through his now dry hair. it makes his bangs fall over his forehead and bill feels so young and so old at the same time. 

“you gonna be cool, denbrough?” she says, slurring just a little bit, and bill panics. her breath smells like smoke and cheap alcohol and strawberry gum and her eyes have an evil in them that bill doesn’t immediately recognize from anywhere specific but it alights a flight response in him. he backs away quickly and runs straight into a solid body. he spins and looks up to see his PE teacher standing behind him and the teacher’s eyes light up with recognition. before the man can say anything, bill is darting away. 

he runs out through the front doors, past the history teacher taking tickets and past the seniors who shout rude things at his pale face. 

he considers going back to the senior girl’s car, to at least have somewhere to hide and calm down, but remembers she locked it. he doesn’t want to be anywhere near her anyway, so afraid of the infatuation in her eyes, so he runs for the road instead. his house is only a few blocks away, anyway. 

then he remembers the look on his mom’s face when he told her about the dance, and figures going home now would only disappoint her. he’s disappointed her enough. 

he finds himself turning down stan’s street. the houses look big and empty in the moonlight, windows dark and dead. the trees whisper in the wind, leftover chill from the winter that has just ended. bill wraps his arms tight around himself, wishing he thought to bring a jacket to wear over his suit, and scuffs his shoes on the ground as he turns down stan’s driveway.

the uris house is still light, homey and inviting, and bill doesn’t even ring the doorbell. the front door isn’t locked anyway, not on a night like tonight, and bill lets himself in silently. he deposits his shoes on the rug next to the door and slinks down the hall to stan’s room. 

he doesn’t knock, afraid to disturb the weird peace that is settled over stan’s home, and enters without warning. stan is asleep, curled up with his spine facing bill, and he shucks his jacket off and sets it on stan’s desk chair. he sinks down onto the floor at the foot of stan’s bed and waits for stan to wake naturally. 

“bill? is that you?” stan’s voice is rough from sleep, croaking out quietly. he sits up and bill turns to look at him. his skin is smooth, pale in the light that shines through his bedroom window, and he looks young. he looks as young as bill feels and it’s weirdly comforting. “dance didn’t go well?” stan asks, rubbing his eyes. 

bill considers lying. he’s sure he would have if stan were richie. he would have made up some story about making out with the senior girl in the back of her beater if it meant richie would laugh and call him an animal. but stan’s eyes are warm and bill feels weak and alone. 

he shakes his head, loosens his tie, and looks down at his socked feet. stan tuts his tongue and waits a beat before bill hears him slap the bed next to him. 

“well, climb up,” stan says and bill doesn’t hesitate. he untucks his shirt and takes it off, leaving him in just his undershirt. stan’s wearing a set of matching pajama pants that look incredibly soft and bill leaves his slacks on. he doesn’t care if they get wrinkled because he has no desire to ever wear them again. 

“what happened?” stan asks, voice quiet. bill tells him all about the night, about the girl basically propostitioning him drunkenly. stan doesn’t say anything for a long time. 

“should i have wanted to?” bill asks finally, turning on his side to regard stan in the darkness. stan furrows his brow and looks incredibly considering and bill loves when his friends do things seriously for him. 

“that’s up to you, bill,” stan responds and bill sighs. he snuggles further into stan’s sheets, letting his friend’s familiar scent wash over him and cleanse every memory of the girl’s strawberry gum from his nostrils.  

“i just wish people didn’t want things from me all the time,” bill says to the open air, curling his toes into stan’s sheets. stan doesn’t respond and bill turns to see him asleep already, eyelashes fanning out over his cheeks. time has stolen the freckles from his nose and bill misses them, misses the way they got darker in the summer sun. 

bill falls asleep with stan’s breath blowing over his face and vows to never trust admiration ever again.

I will wear jeans in hell

1. Do you think it’s rude when people speak slowly when talking to people that don’t know English well? No, it’s helpful, especially if the english speaking person has an accent the other person isn’t used to. I wish people would speak slower to me in spanish. The worst is when you ask them to speak slower and they repeat the exact same thing at the exact same speed. Speak slower but don’t be condescending.

2. What’s irritating you right now? My heater isn’t warm enough and my feet are cold.

3. Do you feel comfortable with answering personal questions? Depends on the question. I like telling stories about myself and my life but I don’t enjoy getting into emotions and stuff.

4. Would you ever sleep with someone to get a job? Depends on the job and who I have to sleep with.

5. Would you ever travel by yourself? I have, several times. And I will again at the end of the month when I go to Paris, although I’m hoping to be able to meet up with someone to go to Disneyland with.

When I was at uni I would curl up in the bay window at the end of the aisle in the library and nap in the sunbeam. I have slept in trains and buses on terribly bumpy roads. I can even sleep on planes now. I’ve definitely napped on some floors, maybe head down on some tables too. Look, I just really like sleep okay and I can always do with a nap when I travel.

30. What was the scent of the last lotion you used? It was just one from the grocery store. It has argon oil in it which I assume gives it a certain smell.

31. Do you have any strange co-workers? I don’t currently work but there were a few weirdos at my old job.

I was a nigthshift worker and yet he still found it weird that I preferred to sleep in to any time after 10am. Like, dude, I only go to bed at 7am. There’s no way in hell I’m getting up any time before 2pm. Now my brother works those hours and I’m sure he gets the same crap from dad.

53. How much stuff do you take with you when you go on vacation for a week? If it’s warm weather, I can pack for a week in my backpack and won’t have to do laundry. Cooler weather is harder because I have to pack layers and a jacket. But I still plan on only taking my backpack for my 4 night stay in Paris.

Biography

Lee is a teenage runaway, his story contains mentions of child abuse, alcoholism, drug abuse, and ghosts...Obviously.

When someone walks the very thin line between life and death, things can happen. So even after the doctors said to expect the worse, after Lee's technical two deaths, and after fighting for weeks----he makes it out alive. He shatters the unseen barrier between the living and the dead. Some people might say communicating with the dead is a GIFT, but he prefers the term ANNOYING BURDEN.

Adults passed off the hushed whispers to seemingly no one and the quick glances towards nothing in particular as a sign that Lee held a very ACTIVE imagination. He certainly did, but this certain aspect in his life WASN'T the imagination running wild. Kids were harder to handle, they were brutal towards the weird kid who talked to himself. As Lee grew older, the more he learned how to keep it all in. He didn't converse with the dead in public, he learned to keep his focus on the living----he learned how to act like he wasn't special.

He's six when his dad first shows him his first HORROR movie and it sparks something in him. Who knew KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE would create an OBSESSION for the dark and gritty world of horror. It was easier to relate to characters because of his abilities and as he'd get older he'd find it as a coping mechanism. No matter how HORRIFYING his own life would seem, there was no way it was GETTING KIDNAPPED BY A SERIAL KILLER AND CUTTING OFF YOUR OWN FOOT horrifying.

His parents get divorced when he's young, their marriage just isn't working out. They spend more time screaming and clawing at each other's throats than anything else. Their YOUNG LOVE spark is gone and it's just devolving into hate at this point. He doesn't quite get it, but he has other things to worry about. He has his grades to focus on and the dead to actively ignore ( it's a full time job ). His mom gets full custody of him, she has a better job and can support the two of them while his dad crashes on his friend's couch until he can save up enough from his shitty job to get his own place.

His mom starts dating. He's fine with it at first, as long as she's happy. He doesn't even realize his mom is drunk, just that she comes home acting weird. It starts a pattern. His mom starts seeing terrible, abusive men and her drinking habits become more and more apparent. He tries his best to help her, but he's a CHILD and she won't accept his help. Her focus on him lessens with time and soon he's just a kid that lives with them rather than her son. His dad gets a new girlfriend and she's jealous of him---he takes up too much of his dad's attention when he's there. She starts to hate him and eventually his dad begins to fade out of the picture. He starts to learn he needs to survive on his own.

Fourteen and things begin to spiral. Ghosts start to become more violent towards him and SCREAM when they can't get him to help. He's just a kid The abuse from his mom worsens as she lashes out at him and he's neglected more often than not. He starts stealing just to eat. Which attracts a VERY BAD group of people his way. They want someone fast and good with their hands to steal for them and Lee was desperate for a friend and was already one of the fastest kids on his track team. So he goes from a good kid with good intentions to doing terrible things just to make sure someone stays for him. He has to be useful for them. The comfort from watching horrors aren't doing it anymore. He's either too numb or too scared to keep going.

Sixteen and a lot happens in a year. He comes out as transgender and his family doesn't approve, he expected that. They mark it off as a phase and go out of their way to remind him he's supposed to be a GIRL. He meets his best friend that year. Haley, someone who managed to see more than some terribly troubled kid. They reminded him he was someone and he was actually WORTH something. It didn't stop him from dropping out of high school when things got TOO overwhelming, but it did help him try and focus on his end goal. Get the fuck out of this horrible town.

Seventeen and the guy he's been off and on with loses his temper. He hits him and Lee snaps. He's not going to let what happened with his mom happen to him. He's not going to be pushed around by some cowardly guy with an out of control anger. So he packs his things and asks Haley to run off to L.A with him. It's hard at first. They're homeless teenagers, finding a job is hard, and there are more ghosts in a big city than there is a small town. He attracted them, they lashed out, he got scared, but it wasn't going to make him run back home. Not yet, not when he knows he can make it. He's a talented kid. They get jobs and eventually raise enough money to get a shitty, cheap ( cheap in L.A standards anyway ) apartment. They barely scrape by some months, going some weeks without power or water. It was a lot more difficult than he imagined it being.

He starts to transition and he lands a part in some small films, lands a few decent roles in some indie movies. It's a dream come true, but it's not enough to live off of. He's struggling and he wishes he would have thought everything out more than he actually did. He's happier, though. He's not in a toxic environment and he can finally be himself. It's still not EASY for a mentally ill kid, but it's better.

Then at the age of nineteen, he gets an audition for a BIG, ANTICIPATED HORROR. The director's well known and is pretty trust worthy with the genre so the chance has Lee's stomach in flips. Then his power finally comes in handy----a nice ghost girl makes a deal with him. She'll take notes of the auditions and the comments their reactions and report back to him, if he got the part he would have to help her move on. Sure enough, he lands it! It's a big part, one of the leads. He still DIES in the end, but it's more than he could have hoped for.

It's his big break. The movie is successful for a horror and the reviews weren't nearly as harsh as he had expected. Some critics even praised his performance! Thank God for that sweet ghost who helped him get what he wanted. He starts to get more offers, land more roles, get more recognized---his dream's coming true. Things are still DIFFICULT for him, but it's BETTER.

Hey guys I've been saving up for a while and have come to a conclusion of what i want for my first car 2006 Porsche cayman s iam16 at the moment and am making just a smudge under $900 a month and from my calculations i should have enough money by the time I am 20-21 so i was wondering how much my insurance would cost. I have my g1 and am getting my g2 in November and will be a occasional driver and would be driving my brothers car an Acura rl and would be getting a cayman as soon as i have enough money. My family is insured by TD and BMO so a quote from them would be preferred but if i can get a quote from another place that is cheaper but still provides full coverage it would be nice plus i will be going to uni and working so it will be daily driven and garage parked 50% of the time (other fifty will be my brothers/dads/moms car) and will NOT be winter driven I live in Brampton On thanks

Why is my car insurance quote massive?

Since few weeks im just looking up comparision sites quoting 1.0 engine first cars such as corsa, pug 206, punto, clio, polo etc ( not all of them are 1.0 but from what ive heard it doesnt make that much difference). In fact, i havent got my licence yet but i adjust my details as if I had one already. It was okay when i searched a quote for corsa and polo for provisional - ended up at 1k yearly. Then I've checked full uk at both comprehensive and 3rd party only - prices went up from minimum of 6k up to 30k which is enormous and ridiculous. What might be wrong with that. Most of people says like it should be up to 2 grand, even my instructor said so. Is that my name, postcode, something wrong with cars I choose? On wends. I was waiting at a red light and another car wrecked into my car. We pulled over and I called the police and my insurance and all that other fun stuff. He got a ticket and when the cop came back to me he gave me the other guys information. (as in his name, car, and license plates number and thats all.) My dad was in the USMC back during the Vietnam War and is now on 100% disability. I was approved for the Dependents' Education through the GI Bill and now I'm wondering if I can get low-cost health insurance through the military as well. I'm 18 and am his only child living at home. We live in New Hampshire and I am currently going to school full time. Like I said, he is on 100% disability through the VA and I was looking at the US Family Health Plan at Martin's Point but I'm not sure if he has to be on the plan so it would be a family plan or if I could do it as an individual plan. He is covered 100% but has to travel like 2.5 hours away to go to Togus in Augusta but I'm not sure if I would be covered in any way through any of this or if I could at least get affordable health insurance through him? probably the biggest vent ill do on tumblr?like ever. so here we go???

honestly it’s fucking exhausting being alive. It is otherworldly. Ive got this thought going through my head that i simply cannot get rid of and it’s this:

the loneliness of not having friends better outweighs the loneliness when you do have friends.

And I cannot get that out of my head because no thought in my head has ever felt more true. 

Ive felt awful for a while now but as the weeks progress I feel like im getting worse. And it’s not bad every single day. Some days are good. But the bad days are outweighing the good now. I remember being able to hold off the sadness for a month at a time and then letting it wash over me for an entire week than feeling relieved because I’d be okay for another month. But now, I can barely hold it in for a week. It feels like my beach is being hit with high tide after high tide and the sand dunes aren’t doing their job anymore. I feel like giving up and not pursuing any of my dreams. I feel every fuck up of my last semester in school. I feel like I can’t express my feelings to my own best friend because my problems feel so fucking little. I feel like I can’t express my thoughts to my brother because I dont want anyone to know how truly weak I am right now. I can’t tell my mom b/c I dont want to stress  her out more than she already is and also because my emotional fucked-ness is partially from her. I can’t vent to my father b/c I don’t want to emotionally bond with him anymore bc it;ll just hurt even more when he’s gone. I feel stupid when I write things out b/c it feels like yelling into a void with hope of a response but it’s never there. 

Being an adult is so difficult. Looking for a job is difficult. I haven’t been rejected, I’ve only received silence and that is somehow more stressing than rejection. Because at least with rejection there is a response. Ive got nothing. Ive received emails asking to speak with me and asking for my portfolio. Then received no replies after. It makes me feel like im not good at what i love or that my hours of work don’t mean a thing. 

I miss having a therapist. I miss being able to cry in front of someone. I miss the advice. I miss the coping mechanisms because I need new ones. I need ones for the current problems. Because the old ones just aren’t working anymore. 

I disassociated hardcore the other day. I was in the bathroom unrolling toilet paper and it happened. next thing i know I was unrolling the whole roll. It’s never happened like this. I need help but dont have the money for help. 

Im trying so fucking hard to float calmly on these waters to wherever the fuck, but the waves aren’t letting up. The skies look black to me and there’s not even lightning to give me hope. -- if that even makes sense. 

Worst of all, my longest coping mechanism - drawing - doesn’t help whatsoever. I have absolutely nothing. and while i think of death because it seems so nice, i know i’ll never do it. i won’t. but it worries me that my solution to it all is death. it worries me that in the morning when i open my eyes, my solution to being awake is death. it worries me that maybe one day, it won’t just be a thought. Some times when the depression and anxiety is bad, I scratch and rip at my skin to cope. Im afraid itll escalate. 

i am simply afraid that I can no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel. im afraid bc land isn’t within swimming distance anymore. I am afraid.
