i think tarot interpretations of the winners is cool but im sorry Grian, Scott, and Pearl r NOT the fucking Sun, Star, and Moon tarot. if ur gonna choose Martin and Scar's by how they played and won then do it for those 3 too dont pick them based off imagery bc if u look a bit deeper i dont think they fit those cards much at all...

i assigned them based off how ive seen them play + some other assignments ive seen around and think fit! i havent watched Scott or Martyn's pov the full way through so this could be a bit off in relation to their winning session, so sorry bout that :(

this is how i see em:

Grian: Justice, a card about consequences and law vs trickery and unfairness

Scott: The Lovers, a card about relationships and love vs self love and disharmony

Pearl: Strength, a card about courage and outward strength vs inner strength and raw emotion

Martyn: The Tower, a card about upheaval, revelation, and chaos vs averting disaster and personal change

Scar: The Magician, a card about resourcefulness and power vs manipulation and untapped potential

My reasons for why The Sun, Star, and Moon r not rlly applicable for the celestial trio in a tarot lens:

The Sun is about abundance, optimism, and vitality, im sorry none of that fits Grian at all??? in any season?????? what even????

The Star is about hope and faith, arguably applies to Scott but not like the best? imo? it CAN fit but I think that would work better for someone else, tbh Martyn 3rd life fits this more

The Moon...is about...fear, anxiety, and intuition...brother that is NOT Pearl in ANY season?! Especially not in DL where she was her most rebellious and confident??? I think a few fit her but definitely not the Moon

tbh imo its a bit...lazy...to just apply them tarots based off their celestial theming when they dont rlly...fit? if Martyn and Scar get actual thought put into their cards the celestial trio should as well especially when u cna get rlly interesting applications when u step outside of the celestial mentality :D!!!

Fandom's weaponising of "-coded" to mean "my interpretation (headcanon) is factual and correct and anyone who disagrees with it is [something]ist" is deeply annoying and also... yeah it probably is a bit problematic that we've so muddied the waters on what is and isn't intentional in media works and on whether an interpretation is automatically correct because it appears to tick whatever boxes are currently popular.

#“coding” is a verb which as you know from school is a Doing Word and so coding has to be Done by someone #what you mean in most cases is “this characters comes across as” or “this character can be interpreted as”#coding also *usually* happens when openly making a character a thing is impossible for some reason (social stigma for instance)#i am *convinced* that Default Hawkeye is bisexual but i've never seen anything to suggest he's “supposed to be” you know?#and i feel like by now someone involved would have said if he was #you know?#all this is even leaving aside that “word of god” can be a very tricky topic with a collaborative medium like television #if a writer says something about a character but the actor and director disagree then who's right? etc #literally saw a tumblerite attempt to win an argument with “but Loki is PoC-coded” believing most marginalised = winner #and i just... look if a 21st century movie franchise “coded” that and hired a white actor to do so... is THAT not massively fucked up???#it's bollocks but if that WAS a thing i don't think it'd be the automatic win that you seem to have thought it would be u kno??#basically not everything SHOULD be coded at this point anyway

Headcanons that can and will make up how I write the Marvelous Bats AU I’m trying to actually write

Everyone has a minor upgrade or addition on the powers they have. Eugene has his technokinesis, Pedro is physically stronger than Billy even though they have the same blessing, Darla is faster, Freddy has some minor telekinesis and is better at flying in practice, and Mary’s courage is infectious to the degree of getting people out of being scared frozen in an emergency and getting them to rescue themselves and have the bravery to help others along the way.

Billy and Mary are still twins, she’s adopted by the Bromfields and Billy is newly fostered by the Vasquez’s but they all work and spend time together as a family unit despite the separate home lives

Billy knows how to make portals anywhere with doors, the place just needs to have a door. (He has tried getting the Batcave that way but apparently the car doors of the Batmobile don’t count)

Yes all the Bats know the Marvels identity’s and vice versa, the rest of the League? Nope. Just think Batman mellowed out in his crusade to learn Caps identity

Yes Bruce wanted to adopt Billy, Billy said screw that and Jason pointed out how bad of an idea it would be to have a kid named Batson in the public eye of Gotham. “The Joker can and will try to make a bad joke out of the kid Bruce.” “Yeah Batman, you want me to die in a robin costume of all things?” Bruce just stayed silent for a moment and almost started crying (it’s was only a week later Jason took a good look at the kid and realized Billy is a mini him and Bruce probably didn’t like the Robin comment)

Damian, Darla, and Jon are the true kid hero trinity. Their mission? Chaos

Freddy just about passed out when he met Barbra, the super amazing Batgirl is the super cool lady behind the monitor that’s one of freaking Batman’s most essential teammates? Oh the feeling of finally seeing a super like himself

Tim met Billy and Mary’s parents through his own when he was little, the 3 of them had a very long discussion about cool archeology stuff for a good few hours

Because his hero form is his “full potential” and is very big Pedro asked Jason to help him get from how he is now to his hero form, seeing as his body type was closest. Now they work out together every Tuesday and Friday (school and vigilante work permitting) half of it is actually working out and the other is building Pedros confidence

Batman and Captain Marvel make a point to block and argue heavily against any other Marvel joining the League, Billy is the only one until the rest of the family does meet the age requirement they have. Billy does the heavy lifting expected of the actual Champion of Magic and his siblings enjoy the small town hero life and look out for Fawcett and the Rock when he’s off world, Mary is the defacto leader when he’s gone.

Like how every Bat has their designated Super and sometimes Wonder, they all have a Marvel they hang out with more than others. Mary and Dick hang out and bond over being the unfortunate voice of reason siblings, Darla is the childish influence making Damian act more his age and love doing it. Billy and Bruce are the respective “heads of the family” and Bruce checks in a lot on how Billy’s life is going with the occasional leadership tip thrown in to help with hero work. Jason tutors Pedro when they’re both visiting, if they cross paths on the job they’ll talk sports a lot. Freddy and Eugene talk a lot about strategy’s, games, gadgets, and superpowers with Barbra and Tim.

Tawny and Alfred are golfing buddies, they also build miniatures of flag ships together and talk about their weird family of supers over tea

Eugene has hacked the Bat-computer on multiple occasions, each time to make an edit to any files Bruce makes of the family, mostly something childish like adding “the amazing” or “the super awesome” before their hero names in the files. But one hack he did was into his contingency plans files, which nearly gave Bruce a heart attack thinking there was going to be another accident that would almost kill his friends.

The hack was the change of “Further research needed to figure out a strategy for neutralization, for now the best strategy is to trick or force them into using their trigger phrase to de-transform before incapacitating them” to “let their siblings deal with the situation”

The Justice League’s first introduction to Captain Marvel was during a “Superman is being affected by Red Kryptonite” situation. By the time they caught up to him in Fawcett their resident hero was helping the man up and panicking over how much he hurt him trying to wrestle the Kryptonite off him, they offered him a seat with them by the end of the week after satellite imaging showed that he led Superman into the air after he knocked down a building and delt with him without further damage and Superman’s account that he broke his arm and bruised multiple ribs trying to stop him. Billy was 9 at the time and only had his powers a few months at that time so he had no idea how much he needed to reel his strength in and was panicking too much to properly do so either way in that fight.

Damian was jealous that Billy got into the league so young and Bruce still won’t let him on despite his capabilities but realizes Billy only got so far because of a lie of omission and one event where he severely harmed Superman, he’d call his father an idiot if he hadn’t tried to keep an eye on such a worrying individual

The Vasquez’s know their kids visit the Wayne’s every other day, as do the Bromfields, but only Vic and Rosa know about the superhero part of it all. The Bromfields just think Mary is visiting a girl friend and having sleepovers every so often, they aren’t entirely wrong since she does hang out with Cass and Stephenie but they don’t need to know her whole superhero life. It’s framed as a mentorship so that their kids can do their best with the powers given to them with a healthy amount of encouragement in still being kids and attending school, it’s mostly just the two families spending time with eachother though.

Black Adam used to antagonize the Marvel Family but after a fight with Billy 1v1 he saw he was a child and stopped trying to actively kill him, he’s now their weird uncle figure who pops by to show them some fighting moves and try to tell Billy to stop being the champion until he’s older.

Black Adam is closer to the movie version solely for the purposes of expanding the family size, he looks like his classic comic self but has to shift in morals and backstory he had in the movie

The fight happened in a empty patch of dessert outside Khandaq when Billy was 11, no one on the League knows why they suddenly stopped fighting or why Cap officiated the guys wedding but their happy he figured something out so his city didn’t get torn up every month by their fights anymore.

The hero names and nicknames for the Marvel family are as follows

Billy Batson —> Captain Marvel (Cap, the Captain)

Mary Bromfield —> Mary Marvel (Mary)

Freddy Freeman —> Lieutenant Marvel (Lieu, Captain Marvel Jr. (by one annoying reporter))

Pedro Peña —> General Marvel (The jolly green giant, Greenie)

Eugene Choi —> Chief Marvel (Chief, Master Chief (self proclaimed, never used))

Darla Dudley —> Ms./Princess Marvel (Ms., Missy Marvel, Missy (Used for professional purposes) Princess (Used every other time as her choice of code name))

Adriana Tomaz —> Isis (/got the amulet of Isis as a wedding gift from Darla from the Rock, she didn’t know what it was but is happy she got cool powers with the rest of the family/)

Amon Tomaz —> Horus (/name changed from comics to coincide with the change in family dynamic between him and Adriana from siblings to parent/child/)

Theo —> Black Adam/Khem Adam

I'll scream my little head off about this forever, but any post still mad about the 2016 election fundamentally needs to note that we fucking outright won that one for the email lady except that our allegedly democratic system of government does not award the supreme executive role to the person with the most votes. As much harm as Trump and did and is still doing, the people to blame aren't the marginal voters who didn't like their choices it's the fuckers who built the electoral college and senate, we need serious systemic changes to our voting to undo the damage, which is a lot harder of a fix than yelling at people about how they didn't vote enough when so many of us fucking did but live in a fundamentally undemocratic system that doesn't reward the winner of the vote with the office they were running for.

I'm enjoying this lower decks Trip/T'Pol thing, but don't worry, we may be getting some fluff soon.

Her fellow Engineering ensign, Ali Hauser, had saved Nguyen a seat in the mess, which was a good thing, because the place was packed. The babble of overlapping conversation was a steady drone, and it was only because their table was nearby that she even heard Commander Tucker snort, "Sez you!"

T'Pol looked at him over the rim of her mug with what a human might almost call an innocent air, while Tucker pointed his fork at her. Apparently she was winning the argument today.

Nguyen looked over at Hauser. "Okay...they're a thing, right?" He looked down at his plate, unexpectedly reticent. "Did I say something wrong?" she asked.

"No, it's just..." His voice trailed off, and he leaned over the table. Instinctively, she leaned in as well. "Obviously, Rosa. But...we give them space about it. Like, do NOT let the LTs or any of the senior crewmen hear you asking about them."

"Oh...sorry, I didn't know senior staff gossip was off-limits." Each ship had its own culture - she'd been told that before her posting. Best to have stepped on this landmine in good company, at least.

"It's not that," Hauser said. "I mean, if you wanna gossip about how Lt. Reed is always getting in bar fights on shore leave or the captain's water polo obsession, go right ahead. But at least in Engineering...we're kind of protective of Commander Tucker. So when it comes to him and Commander T'Pol..."

"We give them space," Nguyen finished, understanding now. She glanced back over at the Commanders' table. T'Pol stood, inclining her head to Tucker, who smiled at her warmly. And then, so quickly that an onlooker could almost miss it, she reached out her hand, first two fingers extended. He mirrored the gesture, and touched her fingertips with his. And she departed.

Yeah, okay. Space. She got it now.

Ok too bad you are gonna get both sides of the argument (I should be a politician I love arguing so much!)

Soft Tessa: more rare because she has a quieter personality. Because often people assume she is cold or even worse- assume her love for Scott doesn’t equal his love for her. She is soft in her own way that is the least noticeable- more often than not she is on the receiving end of a lot of physical affection but what we don’t often see or appreciate is how much she gives him just by being there. Being an anchor for him. Absorbing his more extroverted personality and being his reason and purpose in life. Keeping him alive. When we do get the more obvious soft moments it’s more or less when she is super overwhelmed: ie the laugh-cry, or she is so invested in a program she allows herself to be taken away from reality. Just because it’s rarer for her to show those qualities, doesn’t mean it’s harder for her or they aren’t honest.

I think with this question too, it’s all in the context of their partnership. They have very different personalities but the flow of the two of them is so natural- their softness I feel extends from them being so receptive to what they are feeling in each other. It’s like they share a nervous system and can easily sense where the other is and what they need to be feeling to keep the natural flow going. Like currents- they don’t always stay the same but the natural cycle is what keeps everything moving in harmony (deeeep)

Soft Scott: well , what can I say. To quote Tessa “he’s such a feeler, he just feels so much. He tries to be so technical but really he is just this big open heart”. I just think Scott is so rare. A rare talent in terms of his athletic and artistic harmony. His vision for his sport and art is so rare, and his heart; his humanity is so rare. I know it’s easy for women to say that men are trash.. obviously not all of them are but I can safely say there is not another Scott out there. And he’s not perfect- sure he can be obnoxious and make dumb jokes but his freaking heart and the way he cares for Tessa is just something I have truly never seen. I’d seen someone else write that he has this commanding presence/ like he is so assured of himself and has this incredible masculine energy that’s not at all toxic or macho or a turn off- it’s incredibly attractive. But as soon as he is in Tessa presence he’s this incredibly gentle soul with her, it’s like he’s trying not to scare her. And I kinda think it’s this constant reminder for her that she is always, always going to be safe with him- he is always going to be a home for her.

Here’s something reeaallyy soft I’ve been wanting to say for a while. Obviously they have different personalities and T is more introverted and S more extroverted- but of course they both have the opposite existing in themselves as well. But what I like to think, and I feel there is enough evidence to support, is: I feel as though, even if not quite literally, Scott speaks very softly and calmly to Tessa in certain situations. Not saying he whispers to her..(but also yes in a way- you always see that they are communicating but it’s silent, we may not see their mouths moving but they are always communicating) .. he brings his energy (even a little bit) down when he’s around her. He is quieter for her. He knows she’s a quieter person and I again I don’t mean this literally, but she has a very fragile heart and he knows he has a responsibility to take care of it. He knows her better than anyone and what she has been through, and for all the struggles Scott would have faced in being a straight male figure skater, he has seen first hand everything Tessa dealt with: bullying, body shaming, injures etc.. not to mention how young she was when they moved away. He doesn’t give all that affection because she asks for it, but because to him she is so special and sacred and he wants to do everything to protect her and ensure she knows how loved she is.

He’s always been very protective over her, so yes all the physical affection is lovely and soft and makes me weep uncontrollably, but even softer is the invisible stuff. The stuff that as I write this I don’t even know if it’s true, but I feel like it is- it’s what I feel when I watch them. And that goes for both of them- her presence is the softest thing - the way she calms him just by being there and allowing him to hold her hand or hug her to touch her to feel that comfort, and then him, understanding her so well and always caring for her happiness and safety..

So i don’t know.. you all decide this one
