Chapter 10: Bedtime, of The Place We Call Home, the fourth and final part of your “Built to Last” series is, and I mean this in the very best way, a literary sedative, tell us about it? Thank you!

I certainly hope that's in a good way! 😅

Chapters 10 and 11 were late adds to the story - which seems to keep happening to me. I'll outline a story, start writing it, and realize I need more of...something. In this case, it was more family moments, and specifically a chance to show T'Pol being a mom.

It's pretty widely known that Trip's dad energy is unimpeachable, and while I absolutely wanted to just dad!Trip the place up in this story, I didn't want T'Pol to be overshadowed. So this chapter, short as it is, was part of me giving her more of that, letting her and T'Mir have this quiet moment that's just the two of them.

Of course, there is a little plotiness peeking in, establishing Trip's work from home situation that will...develop in the next few chapters. But mostly, it's just T'Pol, reflecting on how much she loves her husband and their kid. She's earned it.
