the one thing that always gets me about everyone slowly turning on jack at the start of absence isn’t that they think he’s dangerous. he is dangerous, even by his own admission, and up until now it’s just been kind of in the background because hey. he’s really pulled through for us a lot. we’d almost indefinitely be fucked without him. and he’s a good kid, so like whatever. it’s not that they think jack is dangerous.

it’s that bobby and whoever else followed him just decided that this is jack’s “true nature” finally and inevitably coming out now that kelly’s humanity and goodness is gone from him. Like. they fully react to the situation like Jack’s a sick cornered dog who they always knew was sick and who they always kept in the corner, waiting for him to inevitably go rabid and lash out, and they act like it’s so pitiful and tragic, because he was so good and helpful and held out for a while, but he was clearly helpless to fight against his true nature forever.

my relationship with buffy is so strange because i've rewatched it every couple of years since i was 11 but i've still never made it past season 5. the first time i watched it i stopped at passion because my mom thought miss calendar's death was gonna be too upsetting for me (which, fair). the next rewatch i made it to some point in s3, but then faith was frustrating me so i stopped. then the next time i made it to season 4 but this time it was riley who was annoying me so i stopped. then the next time i made it all the way to joyce's death and i sobbed non-stop for the entire episode, so i obviously needed to take a break after that and then just never returned. i know what happens in the later seasons, i've seen the one off banger eps (e.g. once more with feeling), but every time i think of rewatching and going past mid-s3 it's the trade off of the high highs (anya, tara, good-ish guy spike) and low lows (faith bums me out, no cordelia, riley sucks, dawn is whatever but i'm an only child so buffy suddenly having a sister pulls at zero heartstrings).

#i just realized i've never actually seen when spike and buffy get together which is kind of bananas #this post brought on by my mom talking about watching some eps for halloween and making me want to rewatch again #even though i still have spn to finish and i just started rewatching adventure time as well so where am i gonna find the time
