Though the adventure bible says Falin hardly registered the villagers fear and harassment, I still think she sensed something about their unease about her and her classmates avoided her, being othered from people at a young age is a very isolating feeling that sticks with u and could definitely lead to having low self esteem. she doesn’t really think much of herself, especially if she thinks she wasn’t worth saving if it puts everyone else in grave danger.

She understands why her father sent her away and she understands why her brother got angry and left that’s why she doesn’t seem to bore any grudges against either of them. But to me, that just seems like she rationalizes any hurt she’s experienced at the hands of her loved ones. She probably suppresses any feeling of loneliness and betrayal she may have felt and immersed herself into her own interests, similar to laios.

People with low self esteem are also often influenced easily. I do think falin’s interest in dungeons and magic are genuine, but it’s a wonder why she never really explored anything outside of it. I think it’s great that we see a snippet of Falin’s character growth with her response to Shuro. Falin is finally able to explore herself, her identity, outside of being laios’s little sister or marcille’s friend.

Screw it, lemme post about my transfem!Genie headcanon. I have an entire multi-chapter fanfic planned for her that I one day hope to write, but for now, I'll just ramble.

This headcanon started because I was coming up with an alternate timeline where the Professor befriends the Genie, and as part of them getting closer, the Professor decides to disclose his actual name (which some people don't know... it's Concupiscence McNasty btw, Connie for short). Then, when Connie asks for the Genie's name, the Genie realizes that he, well, doesn't really have one!

Because he's a little devious, he forces Connie to guess his name, planning to use one of his guesses as his new name. At one point, Connie joked that the Genie's name is Sara (which would be a nightmare (/lh) for him if true because imagine if the person you're flirting with has the same name as your nemesis-slowly-turning-bestie 😔), but then something happens inside the Genie... a new feeling he isn't very familiar with before. He... likes being called a feminine name?

(Okay I'm gonna be so honest while I'm typing this, a lightbulb clicked in me and I'm aAAAAA-) So yeah he decides to steal Sara's name lmao much to Connie's horror, and that moment starts an entire character arc where Sara realizes that he - or rather she - is a trans woman!

About that lightbulb moment: I was gonna have her named as Yazrin immediately after the Sara joke via the Professor helping the Genie find the name through a bunch of googling, but I'm now thinking that Yazrin can get her actual name later in the fanfic 'cause some trans people, like me, go through a period of choosing different names before they settle on one that really speaks to them.

Part of her character arc is not just becoming a woman but also transforming (hah) from an edgy little misanthrope who uses sarcasm and distance as a deflection tactic to one of the most genuine, optimistic beings who loves the world and everyone in it, and maybe she can get her name from talking with someone she meets on the street after helping them?

Maybe that person has a friend or a daughter named Yazrin who passed away, and as a sort of tribute to them, that person suggests Yazrin to name herself that, and Yazrin is very honored to do that in a way. Also, Yazrin is just a really good name, y'know? :>

I'm gonna stop for now since this post is getting very long, but YEAH if y'all actually read this post, thank you thank you so much. Hope I'll get everyone on board the transfem!Genie train.

I am heavily contemplating on buying myself a dvd player soon and buying all the DVDs for a ton of movies and tv shows I grew up watching cuz I miss the magic of dvds

no y’all don’t get it, the reason Jenna doesn’t connect the dots and figures out that Leverage is secretly being her guardian angels is that the dots connect to make an absolutely ridiculous picture!

Like! She’s very smart and very willing to throw herself into risky situations to do what she thinks is right and I love her, but no matter how clever you are “a bunch of super thieves/vigilantes are also trying to take this guy down and are now secretly helping me by making a bunch of random but not that incredibly unlikely shit happen” is just. like. c’mon. if you say you’d figure that out while in a ridiculously stressful situation in which you constantly put yourself at risk of worst case getting raped and best case losing your job and possibly getting sued, you’re lying.

Yeah the team’s cons are obvious to us! bc we know them! but normal ppl don’t connect “venue shut down bc food poisoning” and “randomly found a singer at a completely different venue” and “there was a fire alarm” bc all those things can in fact happen, for them all to happen in quick succession is random and lucky but it’s not “omg someone is spying on me and??? giving me?????? things i need?”

#BEGONE!!! *wizard beam blast leaving a black smoking crater in the middle of the tumblr dashboard*#I think another downside to everyone doing everything on phone apps on shitty tiny screens nowadays is the inability to really see details #of an image and thus its easier to share BLATANTLY fake things like.. even 'good' ai art has pretty obvious tells at this point #but especially MOST of it is not even 'good' and will have details that are clearly off or lines that dont make sense/uneven (like the imag #of a house interior and in the corner there's a cabinet and it has handles as if it has doors that open but there #are no actual doors visible. or both handles are slightly different shapes. So much stuff that looks 'normal' at first glance #but then you can clearly tell it's just added details with no intention or thought behind it. a pattern that starts and then just abruptly #doesn't go anywhere. etc. etc. )#the same thing with how YEARS ago when I followed more fashion type blogs on tumblr and 'colored hair' was a cool ''''New Thing''' instead #of being the norm now basically. and people would share photos of like ombre hair designs and stuff that were CLEARLY photoshop like #you could LITERally see the coloring outside of the lines. blurs of color that extend past the hair line to the rest of the image #or etc. But people would just share them regardless and comment like 'omg i wish I could do this to my hair!' or 'hair goallzzzz!! i #wonder what salon they went to !!' which would make me want to scream and correct them everytime ( i did not lol)#hhhhhhggh... literally view the image on anything close to a full sized screen and You Will SEe #I don't know why it's such a pet peeve of mine. My motivation to write essays has been waning lately BUT I do have a big post about theories and facts on Chilchuck’s family planned, his wife and daughters plus some Chil’s dad and siblings, the whole package. On top of more marchil crumbs to post oof… Ideally I should also rework the first part of the marchil crumbs to make it more streamlined and dare I say convincing. Also fanart and fics which I hope to get around to finishing up… I def want to make more marchil content, but I honestly have no clue which idea to work on next… (I take requests and prompts btw~). I want to make more fluff but I also want to make more hurt/comfort, ahh dilemma

One idea I have that’s particularly relevant is a fic that I’d call Locks of Hair, about blonde hair and the key to his heart. I’d love touching on his attraction to blondes and how that might affect their relationship in a neat lil introspective oneshot like I like to make. LOCKS of hair? Being the KEY to his heart? I love the english language. There’s sorta this trope where if a character loves money has a liking for blondes it’s because like, the hair is "golden", and I’d find playing with that so funny too.

Another that really has my heart right now is Marcille’s mom visiting them to see her daughter and meet her new partner Chilchuck, and it throws them into a frenzy to prepare for it, Chil being entirely too stressed and dreading. And seeing them her mom’s eyes soften and she tells them they remind her of her and her late husband… The bittersweet pride mixed with anticipation at how her daughter has grown into someone who can accept loss, and is willing to throw all of herself into loving despite them not even having 20 years together ahead of them……. I think about marchil proposals and marriage a lot. Hey hey did you know that in Japan "I want to drink your miso soup every day" is a way to propose, because that’s so Dungeon Meshi. The way proposals are so meaningful with these two because it truly is like "i want to give my lifetime to you, knowing all that it entails, but I believe that it’s worth the trouble. That it’s worth it." I have so much proposal dialogue between them written up oogh they make me so emotional
