it's been pointed out on here before that a lot of terf arguments are actually rooted in sexist idealology that feminists fought and died to unnormalise decades ago and that's its own kettle of fish but one thing i also find very frustrating about this so called 'radical' feminism is that it's so... defeatist? like the moment you categorically label an entire section of society as Bad and Inherently Evil then there's also the implication that nothing can be done about it, and it completely takes all accountability away. saying all men are evil is just another way of saying boys will be boys. he raped her because he's a man. he hit her because he's a man. he didn't listen because he's a man - it's almost offensively oversimplified. there's no point trying to fix this issue in society because men are just Like That, okay! so now what? it's not like they're going anywhere, so you just accept that 50% of the population are evil and will forever treat you terribly and there's nothing to be done about it bc they're biologically predisposed to it? like is that fr the argument here? you're soooo radical for that

do new tumblr users know that in the past we couldn't directly reply to replies. we had to use xkit with a feature that lets you click the replies in your notifs that created a new post with the original comment and tagged the commented and you could add whatever you want to that. and we just lived like this. and that was before we had dms too so it was either that in public (and hitting post limit fast) or hitting ask limit or using fan mail that I'm not sure even exists anymore. you don't know how good you have it

So, I finally got the new tumblr layout and I checked the xkit extension thing. They haven't made anything yet to bring it back to the old layout? Or do I not have the newest version? Or do I need to read better?
Please, bring back the old layout!
Xkit guy, I'm begging you.
If I wanted to go on the site formerly known as Twitter, I'd go there.
It's so weird trying to navigate the buttons like this. I hate it.

wish ig wasnt so fucked i do miss posting art on there but itll never be like that again. how zuck managed to make it feel physically bad and gross to use an app is incredible. its like a corpse of the app i used to use. a bad puppet. a shell. parading around, empty and awful. came back wrong. i cant use it the way it is anymore. "reels" and "stories" and the algorithm. im not using those. im not using that. it feels gross. its sliming me. its oozing slime out of my phone. i just wanted to make posts. have all my stupid art in one place and chill with my mutuals. but no. its trying to sell me ads and pretty people. and now i cant view my notifications bc it sold pretty people too hard and broke teenager's brains. itstelling me to watch reels. all the people i follow are posting their posts in their stories that im not watching bc ive refused to evolve the way i use that app past like 2016. why dont ppl just make posts. what the fuck is the point of stories. is that not just snapchat? im not downloading that either

I feel like everyone on Tumblr is pro Lestat and anti Louis and everyone on Twitter is pro Louis (and Claudia) and anti Lestat 🤕
And I know that’s not necessarily true but god it definitely feels this way.. can’t praise Lestat on Twitter without getting called a white supremacist, and I can’t go three minutes on Tumblr without seeing someone downplay Louis’s trauma… it’s sad for me!

While Neil's suggestion of making you pay to have the blue check removed on Tumblr I don't think it embodies the spirit of the site.
Counteroffer: you can pay to GIVE someone the blue check. Tumblr is a PvP zone and this should reflect that.
