Cora Sakamaki - Backstory Part I

– Someone told me stay away from things that aren’t yours

The night was still young when the woman stepped out to take a breather. She wasn't the biggest fan of parties but when the Vampire king invited her and only her she couldn't just say no. With a sigh she looked up into the sky, the stars reflecting in her golden eyes.

“You look beautiful Cora.” the soft voice of the king came from behind her.

Quickly she turned around, her pupils growing big when she finally saw him. He wore a dark brown suit, perfectly contrasting her violet dress. He looked mesmerizing. 

“You too, your highness.” she whispered and walked towards him. 

“Don’t call me that,” he laughed, they have known each other for years “call me Arnold, my dear.”

Cora and Arnold had an ongoing love affair while he was married to his first wife

Cora repeatedly wanted him to divorce his wife but he couldnt do it, not so easily. For years she tried and got into fights e´with him over that 

when his wife couldnt give him a son, he decided to get rid of her but the public wouldnt approve of this

he staged an accident and send his daughter Penelope to live with the founders

lived alone for three more years until people began talking why he wouldnt marry again

under the pretence of finding a wife he threw a ball and invited Cora and her sister 

Cora however never loved him

she is a very good manipulator and didnt wanna be a disappointment to her family so she pretended to be in love with him

eventually really fell in love and they married

after their death she would be known as Cora the first, the first Vampire queen

Arnold erased his first wifes and daughters existence 

– a pair of cursed twins, bound by bloody destiny 

Arnold walked towards his wife's room with a steady step, he was already too late. The negotiations with the founder King took a bit longer than expected. Not only because his daughter kept pestering him about meeting his grandchild but also because Gießbach didn't want to cooperate at all. 

When he finally arrived, he flung the door open and found Cora laying on the bed. She was peacefully sleeping and beside her a maid and two beds. She doted him to be quiet. 

Now more carefully he walked up to the beds, in them laid his children, eyes closed and hands beside their heads.

“Two boys.” Coras voice spoke from behind him, still sleepy. He turned around, slight tears in his eyes. Finally he would have an heir and with the women he loved too. 

“What are their names?” Cora smiled at him. “You decide. They are your sons after all.”

Now he turned around again, looking at them. Their white-pinkish hair just barely visible.

“Karl-Heinz and Cecil.”

Cecil and Karl were sold as the saviors of the still struggling Vampire clan

Karl was heavily favored by his mother 

she taught him everything about manipulation and how to get your way in the world 

she also focused on his intelligence and how to be perceived as the perfect prince 

Cecil was supposed to be the next Vampire king 

he got sword fighting lessons and training in magic 

his father took him to every meeting from the time he was 6 years old 

politics were one of the main things he taught even though he had no interest in any of this 

he was engaged to a young girl named Elizabeth

this changed when they found out that Cecil began researching stellar magic 

a forbidden magic that only founders practiced 

when he was 15 he also said that he didn't want to marry Elizabeth and it made rounds over the entire demon world

his father didn't want to disown him but threw of the the engagement and ignored Cecil from then on, only focusing on Karl who really enjoyed the new found attention 

in an last attempt to still make Cecil the next Vampire king he let them fight for the throne

Karl won and Cecil was officially forgotten 

he buried himself in his studies, earning himself the attention from his mother 

their bond began getting stronger and they remained in close contact until she died 

– here I stay, all dressed within the lies I can’t escape 

Cecil stood in the observatory, nervous. Today he not only turned 25 but he would also propose to the love of his life. For months now did he plan this, every detail. She knew about his feelings but they never made it official until now and if she said yes everything would be perfect. He had no doubt she would say yes, they were meant for each other. 

The glass door to the room opened, letting in a fresh breeze. There she stood, in a black-orange dress. Her beautiful blonde hair framing her face perfectly. She smiled a sad smile that Cecil, in all his nervousness, didn’t notice. 

He walked up to her, taking her hands in his.

“Beatrix I wanted to ask you something,” he began with a shaky voice “I always had feelings for you. From the first time I ever saw you”

“Cecil” she politely tried to interrupt him so as to not make it too painful but he didn’t stop.

“I knew I was in love with you, so.”

“Cecil!” this time it worked and he stopped, a confused look on his face. She freed herself from his grip and stepped backwards.

“I-” she took a deep breath to collect herself. “Karl proposed to me this morning.”

Cecil was speechless. Only now did he notice the small diamond ring, perfectly matched to her style. The guilt in her deep blue eyes and the way she avoided his gaze, something very untypical for her. 

“And I said yes. I am very sorry-”

“Go.”

“Cecil please don’t be dramatic-”

“Go or I will kill you.” tears began building in his eyes, why was the world so unfair. Cecil heard the door closing before a depressing silence overcame the room. How could she, how could Karl. Why was the world so unfair.

they get along great from the first second 

she is the first woman that could meet his intellect and he soon falls in love with her 

they often look at the stars together but after she met Karl, who had just married Cordelia 3 years prior, they see each other less

he was afraid Karl might try to marry her and wanted to propose as soon as possible 

but it was already too late 

Cecil was only half present the entire wedding and developed depression at the fact his brother took yet another thing from him 

Shu’s birth was probably the most straining thing for him, chasing the prince into the hole more and more 

the announcement of Beatrix being pregnant again finally pushed him over the edge 

at the same time he also began to decipher spells, finding one that promised a fast death 

he tried to kill himself on the day Reiji was born but the spell was wrong, it only promised death when you had committed no sin. If you should have then you would be cursed 

Cecil was cursed with the body of a woman, one that resembled his mothers and immortality 

whenever he should die, a blue mark would appear on his body 

this mark becomes bigger with every death until it fully consumes him and takes control over his body

first he really struggled with that but came to terms with it in the end 

he changed his gender and name 

from then on she would be known as Cora II Sakamaki. Karl-heinz younger sister

I need to talk about Minecraft AU for a sec and how the difference between our world and their world makes for some of the most humorous but also interesting differences in how people act about certain subjects.

Like the trans thing right. Steve and Rana are both trans I've talked about that before. And neither of them are on hormone replacement or anything (there is an in universe explanation as to why Steve has a beard though I promise I can talk about that if anyone wants) but like that's fine bc it literally Doesn't Matter to them or anyone else. Like as spawned players they already don't have any pre-existing gender roles or ideas of what something "should" be so gender and presentation is what they make of it and there's no real solid idea in anyone's mind about how a "boy" or "girl" behaves or looks like. These are labels that exist but they barely mean anything. It also helps that any preexisting culture that WOULD have ideas of this was almost entirely destroyed like 5000 years ago (thanks Groda) so it matters even less than it already did.

And its funny bc the only two people alive from that era, White Eyes and Groda also just don't care. Groda maybe asks why Rana's voice sounds deeper once and nearly gets torn apart by Alex bc of it (Rana isn't offended or anything she just has a defensive girlfriend), bc she doesn't really understand because she never experienced anything like this first hand but very quickly comes to understand it and accept it. And on the other hand White Eyes is just like "I've seen weirder things than this" which yeah. Yeah honestly I think the person who was previously one with the undead would not care about gender in the grand scheme of things.

And then u have Kai which I've joked before that they may as well have been spawned in nonbinary. They rlly just said "I'm not really anything" and everyone was like yeah makes sense I vibe with it. Good for u.

Steve and Rana are both fairly open about having been the opposite genders previously (because that's how they view their experiences and that's valid!) and don't really shy away from the subject but also never really have much reason to talk about it since there's rarely a need to. In the modern day pretty much everyone who met them had met them post-transition. Even Alex had met them just before Steve started growing in his beard. The only people who ever knew them as Adam and Eve were Efe and Sunny but they never really thought it was weird or anything. Like the weirdest part to them was Steve saying he got his epiphany from seeing some guy in the distance on a foggy day who looked vaguely like him but that's its own subject manner that they aren't going to pry on.

Also Steve did DIY top "surgery" previously with a sword but we aren't going to talk about how messy that was for everyone involved.

People hating on a literal child because she doesn’t physically look like a character in a book who we only ever saw in concept art and fanart vs me who was kinda sad when I realized book Percy wasn’t black because the description of a young boy living in New York who’s close with his single mother parent who is constantly seen as stupid troublemaker by both peers and teachers and his moms awful boyfriend and who’s only friend is the only other Outcast (non white) classmate who’s only ally is the literature teacher who then he finds also has doubts about him felt very if not fully black then at least mixed coded.

But then I moved on and enjoyed the story for what it gave me, can some of these people say the same 🤔

eh, I get having a project and losing motivation to finish it. there's so many instances of that, and I got a shit ton of projects I never finished because of the lack of motivation or art/writer's block

there's really no problem with not finishing a game or taking years to do so. it's not an easy task in any way

BUT I do think you should be able to be annoyed at how long a game is taking to come out, you can be impatient, it's fine! I hate waiting a year for another season of Rick and Morty (and the next season's only coming out next year due to grinding too hard or something), and though I do complain about the wait, I can recognize that it's not an easy thing to do — ESPECIALLY when it's an indie show

indie games will take a long time to make, and that is perfectly fine. I'm impatient but am fine waiting years for a good game. I'm pretty sure the main reason why people are verbally impatient with the development of Your Boyfriend, is because the creators have no idea who Yb is and continuously change his character's lore for some reason. not only that but they're just TERRIBLE people

I had a dream that it was moving day and I hadn't packed anything, my parents were in the city to help me move and I wasn't prepared at all, and it didn't inspire me to work on cleaning and packing but it did make me super anxious so. That's something.

#it was more terrifying than most of rhe nightmares ive had tbh #(in the dream) i was out relaxing at a park in the nice weather and my parents suddenly appeared and asked if i was ready to go #and i was so confused because its march and im moving in may. but in the dream it was suddenly may #so i like rushed back to my apartment and was trying to get my shit together but im super not prepared to move right now #i woke up fucking hyperventilating because i was so anxious at the thought of not being prepared to move lol #in my defense. that happened last time i moved kind of #i was moving by myself. and the day i had to move i wasnt fully packed and i had to get rid of a lot #it was an hours long endeavor and it really sucked to try and get my stuff together #that was actually such a bad dream. moving is going to suck because I'm moving with a dog a rabbit and two rats #and then all of my shit. and a lot of my sibling's shit. and then driving it eighten hours #eighteen hours with four pets and all of our stuff. and its just me and my dad for those eighteen hours. im gonna die #fuck i have to get packed. im moving in oess than two months. that time sneaks up on you #and then suddenly its moving day and you havent packed anything and its taking hours longer than expected #i think i have trauma from my last move tbh

You wanna know something weird? You just did in a few weeks what 12 yr old me could never do.

My first Pokémon game ever was Black. Unfortunately I was also an idiot that relied on my starter, the Sawk that I caught for the second gym, and the Excadrill that I leveled up for vanity’s sake. So once Ghetsis took out my beloved Splash, there was little else I could do.

being 12 years old is a solid excuse for pretty much everything man. i don't blame you you know how hard i struggled on some of these fights? how stressful it was? even with greater skill and preparation i had a rough time of it. i say major props to you for having even three solid pokémon bc a lot of the stories you hear about this kind of thing are people who literally only have one pokémon, their overlevelled starter

Yarny YouTube reccomendations

So I like watching yarncraft-y videos while I do my own yarny crafting (because if I watch them when I'm not crafting it'll just make me want to craft and procrastinate on work and that ain't good), and I kinda just wanted to give out some yarny channel reccomendations especially since some of these channels are on the smaller side and deserve more views

Now I want to give out a disclaimer that I really like watching videos about people making things, like, "I wanna make X item, come with me to make the thing and let's see what might go wrong". I'm not really into podcasts that much, nor am I into tutorials. There are great channels that do fantastic videos that fall into those two categories, but since they're not the kind of videos I personally enjoy watching, I'm not including them. These are my reccomendations based on my preferances, nothing objective etc

BTW I've linked the videos I'm reccomending on this video in the channel names so if you want to go watch the video immidiately, no need to go looking for them, already there

(Formerly known as Fancy Dinosaur Tea Party) Absolute Queen, has a funky vintage style that makes her crochet creations super interesting, and makes the exact type of videos I love. Her videos are the backbone of my crochet video needs.

She does also make thrifting and sewing videos and other content, and all of it is great, but man, those crochet videos just hit different

Kayla (Alt Knots)

Kayla does a lot of haul-type videos, reviewing yarns and hooks and those are the videos I go to them for. They also do occassional DIY projects (with an alt twist for my fellow gothically inclined friends) and tutorials, just a lot of community content, like if you enjoy having crochet-alongs or watching movies or chatting streams or doing book clubs while crocheting, Kayla has you covered, they do a lot of content.

Also god damn I have never wanted an ergonomic crochet hook before but Kayla is going to singlehandedly convince to buy one from Furls sooner or later out of sheer FOMO

Retro Claude

Around July of 2022, Claude uploaded this video of her sharing her yarn stash and what a Problem it had kind of become for her. In the video she goes deeper into the stash to figure out how much yarn she has and has since been uploading monthly videos in her Stash Busting series, where she tries to use up all the yarn she has.

Claude mainly does vintage knitting, some of her projects getting their own videos while others only get shown in the stash busting series. She also does (vintage) sewing and, what else can I say, her videos are great, go watch them

Shaiyeh - Witchy Knits Podcast

Like I mentioned before, I'm not a podcast person really, but Shaiyeh's knits tend to have a very whimsical twist to them that appeal to my gothic ass so I can't help but to be drawn to her yarn-videos. They're very chill and cozy so I really want you go check her videos out, they're painfully underrated and she deserves way more views than she gets

Engineering Knits

I'm not really a knitter but vintage knitting is just facinating and Engineering Knits does a lot of that, as well as other videos that're either knitting or vintage clothing related. Go check her out!

Wool Needles Hands

Wool Needles Hands does mainly podcasts but between her podcasts she often does either pattern reccomendations (mainly for knitting) or some wonderful, extremely informative videos about yarn-related subjects, and it's those informative videos (like the one I've linked above) that I always find myself looking forward to

TL Yarn Crafts

I'm sure you already know Tony, she is an Absolute Goddess and her tutorials are a godsend. But I'm not including her on this list because of her tutorials, no, she's on this list because I love watching her reviews, be it for yarn or gadgets, they're all great.

But also if you ever need any crochet tutorials, Tony has you covered, she is without a doubt the best crochet tutorial maker on YouTube and if you haven't watched her videos yet, you're missing out (which is why she's at the bottom of the list, because surely you already know her)
