Intrudusing: Tntduo-based DSMP Glee AU

(Cuz why do one interest when you can have two in one)

The premise of this is that it’s a highschool AU but with singing and absolutely bonkers logic. You can have an aggressive sing-off in a parking lot, the glee club no one likes and has no budget can get any decorations they want and the only way to resolve personal conflict is singing it in front of a room full of people

Quackity and Wilbur are the leaders of two rival clubs. They meet without that knowledge and immediately take a liking to each other but when it turns out they’re competitors they immediately start the enemies arc, both feeling like they have been betrayed.

The only charecters then get direct correlations are the teachers with:

Technoblade as the coach of the football team and the only adult you can trust in this goddamn school

Phil as the coach of the Glee club/ geography teacher, as adult you think you can trust but no, he’ll give you some real dumb advice

Dream as the celebrity coach of the cheer team, ruthless and uncaring for the lives of others

Glee can’t really function without the adults of the show but they’re not what I really care about. So, the kids:

The New Directions glee club containing:

Wilbur Soot, default to leader of the club and most avid member. School’s resident weird guy who smokes upder the bleachers and got a freshman knocked up (that’s only a rumor tho). He’s a full-on mess, currently obsessed with the leader of the club they compete with, the Dalton academy Warblers

Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo, all honorary members that mostly just hang out in the club after school. They’re from the neighbor middle school and they do make a pretty rad quartet so that let them practice and even preform sometimes.

Jack, Eret and Nikki, actual members of the glee club. Talented, cool, that’s our supporting cast

Fundy, youngest member of glee club, I lied about no one having a direct correlation, he’s the Tina (poor girl doesn’t get a solo that isn’t interrupted for an entire season)

George and Sapnap, the evil cheerleaders in cahoots with Dream that infiltrate the glee club so they disband. They don’t really get the redemption arcs the cheerleaders in the show do cuz I don’t care enough about them

And then we have

Quackity, a Dalton Academy Warbler, which is the glee club of a lovely posh-ass private school where the glee club is actually cool.

Karl is also there.

Eventually Q transfers and has to fight with Will for leading parts or something. Also Q’s a cheerleader because duh.

ok i’ve discussed this with @covenofwives a lot. but in real life, sharks have this thingy alone their side called the “lateral line” which they can use to sense motion and vibration under water…

and to me (and to coven), it just sounds like this line would be super super tickly hehe. therefore i hc sides to be cfoosh’s worst spot, along with his nose!! because look at all those nerves up there!! plus google claims that sharks have canonically ticklish noses so 🤷🏼‍♀️

i like hcing foolish to just see tickling as something fun to do with his friends, and also just in a very simple way in general

like to foolish, tickling is a way to make someone laugh, and if he is tickled then he will laugh too. this means he overreacts to certain tickles, purely because he’s anticipating it to tickle

i’d say a good 7/10. like he’s got his spots that don’t tickle much. but then his spots that REALLY tickle hehe. he’s ticklish enough that he can be reduced to helpless cackles, but not enough that he can be tickled by the wind

i forget how much i have him mapped out omgggg

so for csappy, i hc his death spots to be thighs, armpits/chest and feet. like as soon as you get hold of any of these spots he goes ballistic, which makes the spots impossible to tickle for long unless he’s held down (or given a weakness potion hehe)

i also LOVE giving sapnap tummy as a melt spot omfg. like kneading into his tummy makes such bubbly giggles, and also turns him to putty. it’s the spot that makes him collapse. light skitters there also makes him squeak which is entirely embarrassing for him

5. do they enjoy tickling? if yes, is it a fun platonic/familial thing?

whether he admits it or not,, being tickled is something that calms him. pain and moodiness can instantly be squashed by a few prods and squeezes. it’s also something very familiar to him,, for i hc tickling to be prevalent within his relationships with both the dream team and karlnapity

he adores tickling his friends and fiancés 🥺 he loves tickle fights so much. it’s a fun way to prove strength and winning is so entirely worth any tickles that come his way. despite loving giving out rough tickles, being in relationship with karl and quackity coaxes out a much softer side of him. he can be such a comforting ler if he needs/wants to be.

9/10 like omg he’s the cutest little thing. good luck taming his feral-ness though, you may need someone to help hold him down coz he is squirmy

again,, i just have cgogs mapped out entirely. he has ONE particular rib that is his death spot, as well as the backs of his thighs and armpits. any technique works

the ball of his foot and toes are also super tickly, as well as his back and spine (thank you coven). i hc his tummy to be his favourite spot, and it produces the definition of sweet, melodic laughter. he can just lose himself to the tickles, and he barely fights back. he’s also super feather sensitive, particularly on the ears and sides. palms are also a melt spot (thank you @cayjno )

i had this fic i really wanted to write earlier this year but i just couldn’t get it down on paper the way i wanted it. it was about karlnapity and the apocalypse and god, and karl was the prophet of the end times who went missing right before prophesied doomsday so quackity and sapnap set out on a road trip with a deadline to find him and save him before the end of the world. it was a spin on the “last people alive in the apocalypse” trope because in a sense, quackity and sapnap are the only people alive in the whole story, seeing as they’re the only ones who know they’re going to die. the part i had trouble pinning down (and the reason i gave up 1.5k in) was balancing faith and horror. quackity is resolute in believing karl and his god, while sapnap begins to waver in the face of a cruel doomsday. the idea is that you aren’t sure whether to believe in the end of the world or not. the apocalypse is comforting, because it means you know the end, and if there is no end it means there is no god and the world is terrifying without the structure you’ve always believed in. there is no happy ending here. there’s just making your best guess and waiting to see if the world will end

Layered with richly written characters, a lot of emotions (that are very, very soul-searching), multiple points of view, mystery and tension, vivid scenes, beautiful motifs, everything on top of a compelling storyline, When The Sunlight Dies marks the beginning of the scarecrow universe. The universe is like a reimagined Dream SMP, filled with various Minecraft and Dream SMP lore-related references and characters.

This fic takes both imagination and soul and incorporates them into each line. I don’t think I can say this eloquently nor casually enough: this fic is beyond phenomenal. Each chapter draws 3-5 (not to exact number, but about there) scenes into one beautifully continuous story, and even now I could go on forever about each part of the story. The angst, the fluff, the description, all press ready and gorgeously done.

A special thing to note about this fic is that it is intensely emotional - I don’t think I’ve met a single person who’s read this fic and not cried - so be ready for that a few chapters in (for example, don’t read it in front of your parents like I did once 💀). And by all means, if the tagging is too intense for you, don’t read, as all the tags will probably hit very well. But if you do embark on this incredible journey of a fic, grab those tissues and your favorite plushie - you’re gonna need 'em.

I would recommend reading this with rain in the background or soft music from a classical music playlist. But even without music, this fic is unbelievably amazing <3

This fic is near and dear to my heart. Diamond Veins is one of my only exceptions to pure angst - yes, it’s all angst. Still, the angst is incredibly well done, one with the author’s style of voice that consists of raw but very well-structured prose. This type of prose feels like you’re casually walking side-by-side with the character, imbibing in every action and thought and emotion they experience for 7 progressing scenes, and it’s honestly cathartic to read.

This is one of the very first fics I ever read since joining the Dream SMP fandom. Not sure how I stumbled upon it, but when I did, oh, let me tell you what happened. This fic holds the record for the most gasps I made in the span of half an hour. Also, I have not failed to cry every time I read this story. Even after the first read, it is a beautifully written piece worth reading again and again.

Since it is a fairly short oneshot, I feel like this fic would be perfect to read aloud to someone to get their reaction, or your own, if it’s the first time. I also think that this fic is good to introduce someone to the fandom who likes angst and the Dream team side of MCYT. Also, have tissues ready for this one <3

I would not recommend music for this fic; I think that it’s short enough and sure to have you rapt to the point of not needing any background noise.

Jackpot by ceruleon

If you want to positively drown in lovely and colorful prose, this fic is perfect for you. Filled with nothing but amazing senses and color, Jackpot is a gorgeous angst and fluff fic based around lore with amazing balance and dialogue. The author clearly has a vision for each of Karlnapity’s characters, and the image that is displayed for each of them is confidently and wonderfully written.

Looking back at Jackpot and the High Stakes series it’s subsumed in, I realize that not one but two of my fics are heavily inspired by this series! The execution of emotion and description and story are all so lucidly written in this fic. My heart was also stolen by Karl in this one; he is very, very dear to me (on that note, I love how this author writes Karl period, so I encourage you to check out all their fics with Karl in it :3).

I read a lot of these fics on the list without music, but I feel like a little bit of soft, romantic music for this romantic fic could go a long way. Still, even without anything in the background, this fic paints so many enchanting pictures that you don’t need anything extra while reading.

I doubt that this one’s a tear-jerker, but you never know. It is pretty painfully sweet, though, and if that makes you emotional, then I think some tissues would be necessary, haha.

Iridescent Eyes by TwoozyZinc

Word Count: 4,451

In this humorously but beautifully written piece, we see through the eyes of Flint/Connor as Jack and Mason fall in love with a colorful stranger. The entirety of Iridescent Eyes hinges on an interrogation scene which quickly turns into flirting, and watching the pining happen from an outsider’s perspective is adorable, as well as done marvelously here.

I absolutely love the image of this dark cave with intimidating bandits talking to a bright, neon stranger. This fic paints that scene very well with lovely prose and also casual prose since it’s in Flint’s perspective. The combination of the two wordings makes this a solid read.

Be warned that the ending has quite an angsty conclusion, but I’ll be honest that it’s easily overlooked because of the fluff surrounding it, as well as a dear and hopeful ending. I didn’t cry during this fic, but given that it’s a Tales fic, I doubt that I could read this with a straight face anymore.

Iridescent Eyes is both heartwarmingly and heart-clenchingly good, and I think that it’s the perfect fic for when you’re craving Karlnapity and The Wild West story again. I’m not sure if music is necessary. It was fun enough to hear the characters’ voices in my head while I was reading xD.

This fic encapsulates everything my heart loves. It’s short and sweet with an air of levity in every word of dialogue but also utter depth that I adore. I love the headcanons slipped in and all the detail to the mannerisms. This author’s dialogue is a little humorous and a lot charming, and the scenario is so deeply amber with a lot of shading, for lack of better words other than colors. This fic simply feels like lovely, raw emotion, both in writing and in the scenario.

This fic is perfect for those wanting a soft moment that isn’t immensely emotional and yet is emotional all the while. Now, this is also kinda a niche thing, but my imagination is pretty selective when it comes to what I see in my mind, but this fic is unfailingly vivid to me in all its wording.

This is a cute and, again, short read, so no backing sound is necessary. I think a romantic song could be amplifying to this fic’s effect, though.

If you’re feeling a little emotional and need something comforting, I think that close watch on this heart of mine is a perfect little read.

With gorgeously shifting emotions and beautifully described inner and outer turmoil alike, I Hope That You Burn captures a richly tender moment in reimagined canon wherein Karlnapity meet again in Kinoko, packed with heart-clenching, lovable emotion in every word. The scenario and cuddling afterward are to die for, and each moment in this fic hits strongly in different and powerful ways.

This fic is the perfect sort of story for when you’re feeling numb - as I was when I first read it and nearly cried. Seriously, out of everything that I was thinking, when I stumbled upon this fic, I dropped everything and was rapt. To this day, I remember that moment clearly.

I’m not sure what to say about background noise, but I think that this fic is written so well that you don’t even need anything. Whatever you do, though, I think that this story holds a fair chance to make you emotional, so be ready for that!

Oh my gosh. I feel like those were my first words when I was done reading this one, because oh my gosh. White Wine, Fine Dine And Everything On The Line takes a beautiful ride through Karlnapity’s lives through loveable characterization and a well-thought-out journey through Las Nevadas as the three rediscover their love.

I have to point out how much I enjoyed how this fic recounted on a handful of sexual headcanons, all of which I think really fit in with the characterization of Karlnapity. As a whole, this fic provides several fluffy moments and culminates with an angsty but sure resolution, and the entire story feels like a perfectly untold future canon. Despite the warnings I gave, also, I believe that this fic handles each topic very well.

I didn’t listen to anything while reading this one, but I think that a well-crafted playlist to fit each moment might add to this story. It’s still an engaging read without it, though! This fic is perfect for when you crave a resolution in canon <3

One final thing to note is that this fic has a number of obvious grammatical errors, but they’re all quite easily overlook-able as the story is quite good.

This fic is 5/5 dtkq-centric, but it’s told through Sapnap and focuses mostly on Karlnapity, so I had to include this fic in the list. Affectionately called So In Tune, this fic has many affectionate moments of its own and lovely and consistent characters that will have you hooked like a hook line (haha get it, because music has hooks- I’m sorry). I think that this author has a very good grasp on their writing style, and because of it, the story is very balanced and well told, honing in on both story and certain tender moments, all while progressing relationships with little to no angst; this fic is a gift.

The roles of each character will make you so endeared to each of them, and the unfolding of music through words alone is plain mind-blowing. Also, as a little side note, the author’s update notes before each chapter will be proof enough to how sweet this story is, Cure is an absolute dear (I encourage you to check out their other works, too! They have more Karlnapity ;))

The author also made a specially crafted playlist to go along with the mood of the fic; I recommend listening to it in the background as you read!

This story is another non-oneshot, also wanted to make that clear. And finally, I don’t think that I shed tears throughout the reading of this one, but it certainly has its emotional and very down-to-earth moments that I adore.

We’ve all heard of soulmate AUs, but how about soulmate geese AUs? you had me at hjönk is an endearing modern-day AU with only one fantastical element: the day you’re fated to meet your soulmate, a big, annoying goose leads you to your soulmate (or in this case, soulmates ;)). Bogged by the goose’s insistence, Quackity does his best to escape the creature and runs into a big mistake that ultimately ends up being, well, not a mistake.

With charmingly annoying geese and three souls colliding, this fic is an extremely cute and creative piece. I’d say that it’s best to read whenever; it’s so sweet, hilarious, and lovable all around. The fated one-on-one and eventual 3/3 moments are adorable, also.

This fic has such a great storyline that I don’t think any music is needed. Maybe your favorite upbeat song will do well with this one, but overall, it’s unnecessary.

If you’re in need of a little laughter and some good writing, this fic is for you!

Last but absolutely not least, Big Daddy. I have to be honest, a lot of what makes this fic for me is the second chapter. The first chapter, though, is a loveable misunderstanding story wherein Quackity flirts with Bad (this fic is probably my favorite take on the trope as it’s quite chaotic and funny). The second chapter, however, is a movie in itself where Karlnapity take a journey to the nether. It’s a lot more deeply written than I make it sound!

Big Daddy is no misnomer as this fic uses extensive hilarious similes and metaphors to vividly describe each important detail. The description is positively laugh-worthy and overall a great feel-good fic that hinges on adventure and characterization.

I don’t think that this fic requires anything else as I was laughing so much by the end of each chapter that I wouldn’t even slightly pay attention to any background noise. This story is truly a delightful read that does not feel as kinda-long as it is.

I’d recommend reading this when you’re in the mood for comedy! This fic has tons of comedic fluff and great writing to go with it.

In this adorable thread of posts/tweets, The Karlnapity Sims (which I have somewhat unofficially titled) series aims to mend the separation of current canon and rejoin Karlnapity… but in another timeline! With wonderfully designed characters and compellingly sweet events, the threads take you through captions and screenshots like a storybook fic.

Even though we all know the ending that the three get back together (hopefully), I love all the moments of them discussing polyamory, learning about each other, and all the little ups and downs before they get there. The story is currently unfinished but it’s adorable - so much so that I recommend this before it’s over!

This fic is a perfect pick-me-up if I were to describe it. The author’s captioning and commentary is easy to read and the dialogue is also quite cute. Overall, I can tell that a lot has gone into making this. I can only imagine how long it takes to compile screenshots and give each set a specific context, so kudos to the author (since I can only give likes)!

I don’t even consider music or anything when I read this series, it’s so cute and I think the engagement of both pictures and words is enough to have you hooked.

i do definitely find toxic romantic relationships more interesting, in the same way i find toxic dynamics or platonic/familial relationships more interesting too. i think characters expose a really ugly honest side of themselves when they're around people who make them worse and as a writer that's way more fun to write !! i could go on about how much fun it is to write toxic dynamics in any capacity but i will. keep this as short as i can lol

i do enjoy found family / healthy relationships don't get me wrong !! but a lot of relationships people argue are healthy in fanon spaces actually make me uncomfortable - not for the actual ship itself, but for how fanon takes it as unproblematic when often there are actually loads of problems / toxicity within the ship. for example, ppl cite like. ckarlnapity as a ship without problems, or a ship that would work fine if they resolved their miscommunication - i fucking LOVE c!karlnapity and absolutely have written them this way (and will do so again dkjfkdj) but this interpretation feels like it's missing the core of these characters and how... incompatible i think they are with each other. that doesn't mean i don't enjoy it, but the way fanon media tends to gloss over the darker or unhealthy parts of this ship leaves me unsettled. at least w ships like c!awesamdream there's nobody pretending they're holding hands singing kumbaya in any situation other than being locked in a box with each other LMAO /j

also i tend to gravitate more towards unhealthy dynamics because it's more interesting to have conversations with fans without jumping through the disclaimers of "i know this is bad in real life and do not condone this behaviour and understand the consequences of reality etc"?? the people i've met that are also c!awesamdream shippers are so fucking talented and analytical and their aus are so interesting to me.

in all fairness this is MY disclaimer that i'm honestly not a huge shipper in the first place :') i've never been a ginormous fan of romance and it bores me a lot of the time (another reason i'm drawn more to relationships with More Than Just Sweet Healthy Romance TM), so i'm never gonna post loads about it or talk about my ships in any fandom in great detail unless asked about it XD. He the kinda fella to do evil science I tend to default Schlatt to villain sometimes, I do think he would be a pretty good Dr. Hill in this case, but Id like to talk to other movie watchers if there are any about this lol . Anyway yes I can see him and Wilbur having beef about this, the clashing of wills and both thinking theyre smarter and more accomplished than the other. Either way the Hill role gets shoveled, so yeah

Idk about having a love interest, I may cut Megan/Megan’s role entirely, but if she did exist id probably split her into two characters (Sapnap and Karl, karlnapity real) but... up to debate. I honestly think you could probably change the movie to remove her with minimal editing of the story, but whatever moving on.

Generally I’d say the plot stays the same. It’s pretty quick, if you get into it. I don’t know who Dean Halsey would be... if I remove Megan role it would probably be someone close to Quackity (and even if i dont I think that would be more appropriate). Still pondering this one!

Gotta say, as someone with three diagnosed panic/anxiety disorders and as someone who is one step from being on disability because of said three diagnosed panic/anxiety disorders, I always think it’s a bit strange how a lot of fan writers use panic/anxiety attacks as a sort of plot device? 

Like, okay. Look at any karlnapity fic from c!Quackity’s point of view. I can guarantee that 9/10 fics will have a panic attack scene. And that’s fine, I guess, like it’s whatever. It’s just that the panic attacks described aren’t... exactly panic attacks? 

Okay, so every panic attack is different. It obviously isn’t a universal thing. Not everyone will have the same kind of panic attack as me. 

But there is something a bit funky about the way that these attacks are only used to almost take away any kind of agency that, say, c!Quackity would have. Panic attacks are a moment of vulernability, yes, but they’re almost used in fanfics for that express purpose: to make c!Quackity vulnerable so that c!Karl and c!Sapnap (or c!Wilbur or c!Slime or whoever the fuck) can take care of him. It’s not quite fetishy, but it just feels wrong when it happens? Like in a weird way. 

And then there’s something equally as funky about the way that whoever-the-fuck calms the character down from a panic attack. Most techniques used (which generally do involve talking down to the character panicking) generally just piss the person having the attack off even further. I’ve seen this in dozens of people over the years (my family, friends, strangers, textbooks, documentaries, I was a psych major for a bit of time, etc.) Don’t talk down to someone having an attack, and the five senses thing doesn’t work for everyone. It’s seen on the internet a lot of the time, but someone in the middle of a panic attack won’t be able to stop freaking out long enough to look around the room they’re in to see what’s in it. They’ll be lucky if they can even open their eyes, let alone see anything that isn’t blurry with tears. 

This isn’t to say that you can’t write a panic attack! Just do your research beyond a google search, and don’t spring a panic attack in as a plot device out of nowhere. Do a leadup or something, I don’t know, I’m not an expert. I’m just an annoyed disabled person seeing fandom bullshit for the billionth time.

Hot Take! XD lore w Foolish is one of the most interesting arcs, it tied a lot of shit together, it gave more people main lore focus (Karl, Foolish, Bad, Sapnap- just to name a few)

I'm a Foolish stan so maybe I'm biased but I looove the way dream and Foolish are going about it also bcuz it gave Foolish a way to explore his character's backstory w out having to make "flashback" streams

And also I'm a sucker for the fooshxd dynamic so...

I cant WAIT to see the c!Dream/c!Foosh dynamic as well

dxd tieing in so many plot lines that otherwise seemed kinda outta place (sorry karl I love tales but it didn't feel very connected to everything till the karlnapity breakup but adding dxd definitely makes it feel more relevant)

it also brings sapnap back into the dsmp storyline but in a way cc! sap can have fun with it (causing chaos)
