what's your favorite background for kara? not necessarily one single canon one, it can bit a mix-and-match of canons (for example, i like the n52 'older than kal and sent alongside him from krypton', but the post-crisis 'lived in themyscira and then with lana lang', etc (i also really like the danverses, but i can't make sense of a random couple adopting her without having clark just drop her at an orphanage, which doesn't make sense, or them being cops, which ew)). also, do you prefer her bio parents being alive or dead?
(hi i'm the previous anon who asked about kara's background, sorry to send another ask, i just thought of something) how would you feel about a combined backstory where lana lang married fred and edna's son before taking in kara? that way they could still be related to her but without either the orphanage or DEO plots happening (i know lana is dating steel rn but checks wiki jan danvers could still die at some point after their wedding)
thank you so much for the question this is going to be a little long <3
i really liked kara's origin in woman of tomorrow where it mixes some of her different backstories together. so she was born and raised on krypton (and is older than clark) and then lived briefly on the surviving chunk of argo city after krypton's destruction before getting sent to earth.
as for why she arrived so much later on earth after clark had already grown into an adult, i think i like the new 52 version best where her pod kept her in suspended animation while it orbited around the sun before eventually crashing down to earth. i don't actually remember why her pod did that, but i'd just explain it as her ship got damaged somehow on the way to earth and malfunctioned causing it to keep her in suspended animation for longer than it should have.
okay, now for her adoptive family: i've thought a lot about how to justify the presence of fred and edna danvers in kara's life in modern comics and i think the easiest way to incorporate them is to make it so either fred or edna are related to the kents in someway, probably on martha's side of the family (i think i'd have it so edna is martha's younger sister, so she's clark's maternal aunt) so in this scenario clark isn't dumping kara with a couple of strangers, but rather he's placing her with his own family that he already knows and trusts.
i like your idea of having lana be related by marriage to the danvers since i also really love kara's post crisis relationship to her, but ultimately i'd still want the danvers to be kara's adoptive parents. i'd just make it so clark is more active in kara's life and takes her to smallville often to see where he was raised. and then there kara and lana can meet and develop that same kind of bond they used to have.
and finally, my favorite version of zor el and alura being alive (and what i prefer above anything else) is from the new krypton storyline. like that exact version of them and the exact events that took place are the only way i want to see them alive. i'm also fine with them dying along with everyone else on argo city, but if they're going to survive somehow it'd want it to be like how it was in the gates/igle run of supergirl vol 5 (i really did not care for the cyborg superman arcs in supergirl vol 6 and 7).

okay so before i jump into whatever happened to the man of tomorrow i decided that i'd list my superman reads so far! this is a rapid-fire list so i'm not going incredibly in depth here, i'm not really someone that writes reviews. if you care to follow, my goodreads is here!
with that being said, here's my rating system!
1 star = terrible, and more than likely didn't finish. i don't give one stars very often though so hopefully we won't be seeing them here but it's worth mentioning
2 stars = okay story, just not for me!
3 stars = solid story but a little forgettable
4 stars = loved it :)
5 stars = adored it! would read it again!
now since i'm doing these in order let's start with
all-star superman: a solid 4 stars! i love the sci-fi stuff and i love stories about clark's mortality
superman american-alien: might seem surprising but i genuinely adored reading this book so it gets a 5 star rating. it was a fun read, what can i say?
superman 2023: okay im a bit iffy about rating an ongoing series but all the issues have been 4 stars for me through and through. i love jamal campbell's art and supes is just <3 i would recommend this for newbies actually since it's pretty easy to follow even if you don't know much about superman.
superman: secret identity: sorry but i just thought this book was boring and pointless. 2 stars. why was this on a list for newbies to read i'll never know.
superman action comics #775 aka what's so funny about truth, justice, and the american way?: this is the only issue of the action comics i've read because i've heard good things about it (also because one of these days i'm gonna watch the adaptions of these comic books) and i can see why! a solid 4 stars for me. this is why you love superman, what more can i say? i think it needs a bit more breathing room but it's still a pretty good one.
superman for all seasons: i bumped this up to a 5 stars since im a little stingy with them lol but this is one of the books i'd read again. it's an easy read and i love tim sale's art, and i just wanna hug clark that's all
adventures of superman: jon kent: annnd we're back to 2 stars. i hate injustice but at least jon is a nice character. just please any other book besides this. sigh
superman smashes the klan: an easy 5 stars! i literally loved this book so much i bingeread it in a day! i recommend this to anyone and everyone, even if you don't care for superman pick this book up please!
supergirl special #1: okay, i know this is a superman list i don't care supergirl is getting thrown in here too. i'm gonna be honest i don't have much to say about this book so i guess it might be surprising that it's a 4 stars for me, maybe it's getting carried by the pretty art. i dunno, it's nice, that's all. i guess a 3 star rating would be more accurate lol
superman: the harvests of youth: this is a sweet book but it's about smallville so i don't have much attachment. 3 stars. it's got heart and i like martha with pink hair :)
superman: birthright: i think this book is a little dull but it mostly shines with clark and lex's relationship. lex growing up with clark adds an extra layer to their relationship that i like. 3 stars because i honestly don't remember much outside of that
supergirl: woman of tomorrow: this is a fun sci-fi adventure and the art style is honestly breathtaking. if someone wanted to know who kara is as a person this is the book i'd show them! 5 stars!
okay, that's about all i have so far! i'll come back to this post and update with any reads i finish later :)

supergirl special rewrite-ish
my main gripe with the supergirl special is that it didn't clarify anything about kara's actual life.
i feel like we need just a liiiittle break from kara stories focused solely on how sad she is about krypton?? like don't get me wrong, i like a lot of those stories but i feel like first she needs to actually get reestablished on earth because right now we don't know shit about her personal life.
in my version the story would be focused on kara and her secret identity because right now we don't know where it stands. we know she probably has one because she has her own apartment and regular people clothes, but we don't even know anything else :/ so basically quick bullet points about my version (i took a bit of inspo from mistah kuppaberg and sg v2 #plagerism)
-kara is up supergirling and stuff, pretty practised and routinely. she's clearly been at this for a while without break and is at least kinda on autopilot when something(idk yet, i told you this was a rough idea. probs seeing clark or someone else in their secret identities?) snaps her into introspecting about that herself.
-she thinks about how right now she hasn't really been caring about her life as linda lee (danvers? idk what the adoption status of kara is right now. i'll stick with linda lee) and through this introspection we can explain where she's at and what her status is right now, something we haven't gotten yet within dawn of dc
-the sunday family dinners can still be a thing and i would have a similar thing happen like in tamaki's comic where kara is lost in thought and staying at the table. clark would ask her if she's good and then she would ask to talk to him or something
-then they'd have a lil heart-to-heart about how she feels like she's supergirl all the time and wants more for herself and by the end she decides to move to a different city (or country idk. could put her in canada like in jlu lmao) to establish her life.
-the comic would probs end with her on the train to her new home (very sg v2 issue 1)
so yeah! that's it. very rough but that's kinda what i would've done. i tried to keep it within what i could've done in 38 pages but if i had more there were some things i probably would have added. i might make another post of how i would do the first issue of her solo that takes place after this

I'm actually fairly new to superman comics overall, but you seem to have an investment in the character from a wide variety of places, and I've mostly only gotten the same two or three stories suggested when I ask (or just superman/batman stories. which are Fine some are good but I'm pretty neutral on them as a pairing which is a LARGE portion of Clark content in general)...do you have any recommendations for favorite Superman stories? feel free to put this ask aside if you don't want to go through the trouble. 👍
Thank you for asking my opinion, I appreciate it!
So I approached making this list by asking what I would give someone who's read all the typical introductory stories and wants to get a little deeper. But full disclosure, I haven't extensively read all eras of Superman, so this list only pulls from the late 2000s and a little from the bronze age.
Standalone issues:
Action Comics #847 - A story about Superman taking Pa Kent to space, written by Dwayne McDuffie. This story was a pivotal reason why I realised that I can't agree with people complaining about "silly silver age" aspects being brought back in modern stuff.
Action Comics #850 - I think this ties into a Supergirl arc I haven't read, but those aspects are just a framing device and it's not too obtrusive. It's essentially a "hits" of Clark's life and it's a good take.
Superman Annual #13 (2007) "The Best Day" - Just a cute little filler story about the superfam having a picnic on an alien planet.
Action Comics #884 - I'm recommending the Lois story. It takes place during New Krypton, but I don't think you need to read the whole event to get the gist of what's going on.
Superman 80-Page Giant (2010) - An anthology with no specific theme or timeline. The best stories are the first two, "Cold" and "Patience-Centred Care", but you can read the rest if you want. They're all decent!
Runs:
Superman: Confidential
A 14-issue anthology series from 2008. The first arc 'Kryptonite' is the best remembered, a decent story which portrays the characters as flawed; the second arc (#6-7) isn't great but still fun in a weird way (everyone in Metropolis gets turned into mermaids, what more could you want); and the rest is pretty good with some good character insights. The series definitely has STAS vibes, especially the artwork in the first arc which is by the same artist who did 'For All Seasons'.
Kurt Busiek and Geoff Johns runs
Especially: 'Up, Up and Away!', 'Camelot Falls', 'Last Son', 'Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes', 'Brainiac'
Busiek just gets it. He's a very underrated Superman writer who handled just about every character well. Unfortunately, his run gets interrupted with Countdown tie-ins and James Robinson issues, which I tried to exclude from my doc as much as possible. (Robinson is better at writing Jimmy if that's any consolation).
Geoff John's run is decent as well, it ties into 'Secret Origin' as you might imagine. This era included the infamous reinvention/character assassination of Cat Grant, and also brought back Steve Lombard of all people as a member of the Daily Planet staff. But his writing of Clark, Lois and Kara is solid.
The 'Brainiac' arc leads into 'New Krypton', but I don't think you need to read that event because it had no lasting effects. The only story directing addressing it was 'Grounded', which is ooc and reactionary, and then the New 52 happened.
Link to my reading list for the era between Infinite Crisis and New Krypton.
Pre-Crisis:
This needs its own category because reading pre-crisis needs a different headspace. It's a separate canon as well as just a different context and stage of the character's history. I'm not reccing silver age stuff because I haven't read enough of it to be comfortable doing so.
DC Special Series #5 - A good "taster" of pre-crisis Superman. It has a fairly interesting conflict, and includes all the major characters so you get a sense of what was going on with them. And it has that particular brand of pre-crisis weirdness, which it is very sincere about.
Superman #296-299 - A story which explores the fracture between the Superman and Clark Kent identities, and has him come to a good conclusion about his identity imo. I think the first two parts are skippable, as #298 recaps what happened anyway. (But #297 does have the first clois hookup and the origin of boeuf bourguignon).
Action Comics #510-512 - You know that cover of Superman stealing Luthor's bride? That's from here. This story is fantastic though, it really steps up Luthor's level of evil with the reveal, but doesn't make him boring in the process. The whole thing gave me Morrison vibes.
And if you want to dive into origins after that, Action Comics #500 and the Superman: The Secret Years miniseries both delve into the backstory and psychology of bronze age Clark.

I suppose you already saw the new DC Gods and Monsters announcement by gunn. What are your opinion and speculations?
Anonymous asked:
Commentary on James new DCU plans ?
At long last: the wait is over.
youtube
Running through the list:
Film
Superman: Legacy - Not really much to go off of other than the name being rather boring. Probably chose it over something like Superman: Man of Tomorrow simply to make sure people wouldn't confuse it for a MoS sequel. It's coming in 2025 and will be the first "proper" DCU film, which means we will get casting by the end of 2023 at least. I've seen some folks speculate that "Legacy" means the real focus will be on Clark mentoring Kara or Jon and I don't see that happening. If that was the plan then there's no need to drop Cavill, since he just would be playing support. Whoever the new Superman will be, he will be front and center.
The Authority - No one saw this one coming. How the hell this will work in the DCU is anyone's guess. I think they'll have Manchester Black form the team as a reaction to Superman, and ultimately there will be a clash between Supes and the Authority that ends with Black being ousted in favor of Jenny Sparks. Perhaps it will even lead into an adaption of Morrison S&tA given the Morrison influence seen elsewhere in the slate? Either way I'm very excited to see what Gunn does.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - I loved the mini, I'm excited for this.
Lanterns - I get both of my favorite Lanterns in the DCU! Surprising that they would scrap Berlanti's show right after signing a big deal with him. I'm going to guess that they discover evidence of the White Martians invading, and that's what leads into the DCU JL forming.
The Brave and the Bold - Skipping right to Damian is surprising but that might be to avoid stepping on Reeves toes. I guess there will be another age gap between Superman and Batman?
The Batman Part II - Batman fans eating good, you'll get solo gritty dark Batman and more comic-y Batman.
Swamp Thing - As if you needed any more confirmation that the Abrams JLD projects are dead. I love Swamp Thing but I'm going to need more info.
Television
Creature Commandos - Exact sort of obscure property we were expecting Gunn to love. Good to see DC is investing in animation still.
Paradise Lost - Might be good if they look to Historia for inspiration. "Game of Thrones with the Amazons" could go sour really quickly depending on how they characterize the Amazons.
Waller - If Bloodsport shows up here I'll watch it, otherwise I think I'm good.
Booster Gold - Never really cared for Gold myself but this character is exactly the kind of character Gunn loves. If he casts Pratt in the role all hell will break loose and I would be there for it.
Misc.
Seems like Levi, Gadot, Momoa, and even Miller(!!!) might get to continue in their roles. You won't see actors play two characters at the same time in the DCU, so I guess Momoa won't be Lobo after all? Look, part of the problem is that Gunn can't say anything that will negatively impact the box office returns for 2023, meaning he's not going to say they're done even if they are because then people might go "these don't matter", and stay home. The Wrap claims that The Flash is going to get the Elseworlds brand which makes it unlikely Calle would continue on as Supergirl, but it's too early to say at this point.
Keeping any of the main Leaguers in their roles is going to cause the same kind of continuity clusterfuck as the New 52 not rebooting Batman and GL did, but you know what? At this point I don't care. Not my problem, all I want are good Superman and Supergirl movies, with some exciting spinoffs like LoSH too. Don't give a rat's ass if the JL film sucks or the continuity makes sense as long as I get what I want. I'll follow the projects that look interesting and ignore the ones that don't.
There's a "brain trust" of writers advising Gunn, one of whom is Tom King which is sure to piss off plenty but leaves me rather happy. Maybe King is even writing the script for Supergirl? Morrison and King are clearly Gunn's guiding lights, and far as Superman goes they're two of his best writers. Adam Strange fans are in for a rough ride no doubt.
Gunn also confirmed that they continue to plan on synergy across multiple mediums which makes me nervous. If his Superman sucks then I'm going to be stuck with a take I don't like showing up everywhere in a way not even Snyder/Cavill's take did. On the other hand the emphasis that the synergy will include DCU games makes me hopeful that maybe we might finally get a goddamn Superman game, and if that happens then I'll take that synergy. S&L may get to run for 1 to 2 more seasons - wasn't clear if S3 is included in that 1 to 2 more - but that will hopefully let S&L last for 4-5 seasons which is a solid tenure for a show. Not sure how MAWS will fit into Gunn's plan, but I hope he just lets it run and makes his own Superman cartoon if he wants one.
Tumblr media
Feels nice to be excited after years of flinching and dreading every DC announcement. Not a perfect slate, not what *I* would do, but there's a healthy mix of A-Listers, B/C-Listers, and oddballs that appeal to Gunn. Not all of the slate has been revealed, and I'm sure we will get another JL movie before the decade is done, but for a starting slate I think DC's future looks bright.

Bart and Kara?
who hogs the duvet
Bart, like Thad, is a tornado sleeper, so he alternately hogs the covers and kicks them off the bed, but Kara doesn't get cold and has also learned to sleep through everything that's not an emergency, so it doesn't matter.
who texts/rings to check how their day is going
Neither, Bart just shows up.
who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts
Bart. Kara gets cool stuff from space but Bart's brain works in completely unexpected and delightful ways.
who gets up first in the morning
Kara, but Bart canonically sleeps in short bursts so it sort of depends on timing.
who suggests new things in bed
I think both of them! Bart has a curious mind and zero shyness, and Kryptonians Hear Things.
who cries at movies
Kara. Any movie that is even a little bit sad or extremely happy.
who gives unprompted massages
Hmm, I don't think either of them, honestly.
who fusses over the other when they’re sick
Kara. Bart is DELICATE, she needs to TAKE CARE OF HIM. (Bart also very very rarely gets sick so it is actually worrisome.)
who gets jealous easiest
Neither of them is jealous by nature but they both have things that irk them. Bart can get sulky about Kara's friendship with Owen. Kara felt A Lot Of Ways about Bart's love life before she realized she had a crush on him.
who has the most embarrassing taste in music
Kara listens to like 97% Taylor Swift. Bart's taste in music is wildly eclectic. So I guess Kara, marginally?
who collects something unusual
Bart collects comics. What a NERD.
who takes the longest to get ready
I mean...they both have super speed, so I guess Kara by a margin of about 4 seconds?
who is the most tidy and organised
Kara. Bart is a human tornado.
who gets most excited about the holidays
Bart, although Kara has cheerfully embraced Earth holidays.
who is the big spoon/little spoon
They trade off, at least until Bart starts flailing (see above re: tornado sleeping).
who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports
Kara. Bart's competitive until he gets distracted.
who starts the most arguments
Bart.
who suggests that they buy a pet
Bart already has a dog! And Kara has like 25% ownership of Krypto.
what couple traditions they have
what tv shows they watch together
what other couple they hang out with
I don't really have strong feels about ships for any of these characters, but I guess...Tim, Kon, Cassie, Cissie, and/or Steph, and whoever any of them happen to be dating, whether or not it's each other.
how they spend time together as a couple
Exploring the planet, since both of them can go basically anywhere and it's exciting to have someone who can keep up with them.
who made the first move
Kara.
who brings flowers home
Bart. All of the petals have blown off by the time he runs home, but it's the thought that counts.
who is the best cook
Kara. Thanks, Martha!

Supergirl Season 6 Thoughts
This is gonna have finale spoilers, so watch out if you're one of those people who didn't finish the season.
First off, some general, overall stuff: this season was too short. The pacing was off, and too many things happened offscreen. There wasn't enough time for everything to happen in a way that felt good. I particularly felt this with Lena's arc, but basically everything in the second half of the season felt that way.
The fact that a giant cat attack that lasted all of six minutes onscreen was a highlight for me explains a lot about my experience, I think. The best part of the season was the Midvale stuff(not just because I love Peter Sudarso) because it was actually paced okay and felt good. The characters were handled well, even Kenny(i thought he might show up in the present but no) and it actually wrapped up nicely without feeling incomplete.
Everything post Phantom Zone was... eeh. Nyxly was a good character, but I feel maybe for the final season a villain we already knew would have been better. Some people have suggested Brainiac, which I approve of, though one wonders if it would have been the one from the Krypton show. I'm not sure myself, maybe just Lex would have been good, but the fact is that there was no time in the second half of the season. Zero reprieve for characters or viewers. I missed seeing National City as a setting that the characters actually lived in.
Characters who got decent arcs were: Alex, Kelly, and Kara. J'onn was just sort of there, Nia's arc was ???, and don't even get me started on Brainy(he gets his own paragraph later). I do feel like Alex and Kelly's adoption and marriage was a good progression for them. They are very wholesome lesbians, but c'mon y'all this is the CW, the best we'll get is Nia yelling and wanting to murder(very good work Nicole). Not even touching Lena and Kara, they were fine. Just fine. I think Lena needs friends more than anything else. Nia was great this season but her arc was just so not. I mean I get that she wanted her mom, but they just glossed over that in season 5 so it felt really out of nowhere. She just seemed all over the place in season 6. Lena's arc was paced poorly, and while there's nothing wrong with magic, there hasn't been much precedent for it in Supergirl(except maybe in crossovers? idk) so same as above. I have no idea what to say about Kara revealing her identity. I guess she felt it was the right choice, but doesn't she realize what will happen? You've got enemies Kara, and they've already come after your friends, now they'll come after even more of them. I suppose it was meant as a conclusion to her ongoing identity crisis but man, literally anyone who's read the comics knows why superheroes have secret identities, especially the Superfam. This problem could have been solved the way I thought they were going to seasons ago, by having Kara go to the future to join the Legion, but that would have required a very different procession of events, for longer than just season 6. Do I mean KaraDox? Yeah, I guess, but I no longer care at this point. Supergirl is just a little disappointing, in general.
As for how they massacred my boy... Brainy's characterization and arc for the first part of the season were not bad. I feel like they gave up and just made him a joke character, but also tried to keep giving him depth? Most opportunities for deeper exploration were passed over in S6, including his relationship with Nia. They hardly spend any good time together in this season, and I'm expected to believe he said "sprock the timestream" for her? I barely believe it even if I can hear Jesse's voice in my head as I type. His end-of-season arc was just so random and poorly executed. Those sorts of things can only be meaningful if the character goes through with it! But they just said no, he's gonna come back without sacrificing himself actually. I'm also certain it was out of character for him. He'd rather Brainiac 5 die saving his planet, because then he's finally redeemed his family name, and there will be no more Brainiacs(presumably, in this universe). Do you agree, fellow Querl Dox syndrome havers? I think having him go and not come back, and showing him giving up his sense of self to the(so-called) Big Brain would have been a meaningful end for him.
*sigh* I've run out of steam, but this post is long enough. Thanks for reading.

action comics 1053....
love to see more of steel and metallo. I'm not sure how I feel about this metallo but I am interested in what happens.
what I am far less interested in is Jon and the warworld twins. like sorry man I literally went through the jealousy of younger siblings and I Still Do Not Care. it is boring. sorry.
now, the Jon and the alien princess story, I like. It's much lighter in tone and feels much more like an adventure story, even though their threats are still as large and looming.
the power girl story .....well, I still want to see where it's going, but I liked the last issue better. i hate to say it but it feels a LOT like that tweet where characters are talking like they're in therapy instead of a story, which in turn makes it feel a bit like power girl fanfiction, even though I think the concept of "solving strange problems other heroes are having by venturing into their minds in a literal sense" is really fun (and as a concept it makes sense that it's more emotionally-minded, but I still think the characters don't have very strong voices of their own- they all sound like just a writer speaking, as opposed to hearing something through Kara or omen or superboys mouth, which is important in a character focused story.)

It had officially been a week since Y/N and Lena had broken up and Y/N had left the DEO. An anger had been bubbling up inside her that she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to contain before it burst at Kara and her friends for so easily moving on from the pain Lena had caused her. No one cared that they had been in a committed relationship. No one cared that Lena had gone to Kara not a day ever she and Y/N had broken up. No one cared about her.
Except for J’onn.
He was her saving grace, as he promised to lend her name to a few of his friends for work, and Y/N couldn’t be more grateful, especially as she had left her position at the DEO so suddenly and without warning anyone.
The woman had just returned to her home after a long day of failed job hunting, because even though she had J’onn’s help, it was better to be safe than sorry.
She locked her door, took of her coat, and promptly flopped on the couch, her limbs hungry from rest with their endless aching. She complied, letting her what-now-felt heavy eyelids flutter close.
The ringing of her phone felt 10x louder in her sleepy clouded haze, as she was almost asleep when her eyes flew open, wide, and she nearly tumbled off the couch.
Grumbling, she pulled her phone out go her pocket and saw that it was an unknown number. Y/N had nothing better to do so - she answered.
“Hello?”
“Can I speak to Y/N Y/L/N?”
“This is she . . . Who are you?”
“I’m Batwoman. J’onn recommended you for our Crisis team and if you’d like, we want to bring you to our headquarters - paid by us, of course - and test and see if we should recruit you.”
Y/N could of sworn she was dreaming, and had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn’t. It took a couple moments for this all to process in her head . . .
“Uhh, you still there?”
She suddenly realized she hadn’t answered for a bit and scrambled to compose her thoughts. “Yes, sorry! Just digesting everything . . . it’s a great opportunity, thank you so much and . . . yeah, I think I’d like that,” she said, clearing her throat.
The warmth of Batwoman’s chuckle instantly calmed Y/N’s frenzied-state like a spell. “Awesome, I’ll text you more details soon,” the superhero said.
After ending the phone call, Y/N laid back on the couch, jaw open and an awed, dazed look in her eyes. “Wow,” she whispered, hardly believing it.
Little did she know that she would get accepted into the team and would have the greatest time ever - working with the team, gaining new friends, and the best one of all would be falling for and dating Batwoman herself, Kate Kane.
. . . . . . . . .
A couple months later and the couple was happily sitting at Y/N’s apartment, having a date night (which mainly consisted of watching cheesy and classic movies, eating chocolate, and gossiping about their teammates).
Kate had just started ticking Y/N (the former trying and struggling to get away from her strong grip), laugher bouncing off the walls.
“This is too adorable,” Kate commented with a grin, enjoying her girlfriend’s smile and giggles.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “NnnnnOoOhHOO,” she got out through her laughter, attempting to combat Kate’s fingers as she dug them under her armpits, making her squeal.
Knock knock knock!
“Saved by the bell,” Kate remarked with a smirk, leaning back.
Y/N just smiled, glad that the tickling had ceased for the time being but also wondering who was at the door. She climbed off the couch and walked over, first checking through the peephole.
She had to do a double take when she saw who it was. Turning back to Kate, Y/N said, “It’s Lena.”
Kate furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but nodded, encouraging her to open it.
“Hey, Y/N. I’m sorry to do this, I just . . . My feelings for Kara were so stupid. It was just a passing thing, a crush, and . . . God, I miss you so much. Would you consider, uh, taking me back?” Lena rushed out as soon as Y/N opened the door.
Whatever she thought her ex-girlfriend was going to say, it wasn’t this. Y/N stood there for a couple moments, letting the words weave itself throughout her mind.
“Um, I’m sorry Lena, but . . . no,” she said, unsure of how else to voice it.
Lena blinked, shocked. “What?” She asked, obviously not expecting this.
Y/N shifted the weight from one foot to the other, fingers tapping against the door quietly. “I’ve moved on. I have a girlfriend,” she clarified, opening the door to show Kate on the couch, who awkwardly waved.
Lena’s mouth dropped, tears in her eyes. “I... I didn’t expect you to-”
“Move on?” Y/N cut in, taking a breath. Her grip on the door got tighter. Shit, she knew she was past Lena, but the hurt was still there.
Silence filled the air, Lena not knowing what to say and Y/N looking at her intensely. Finally, Lena huffed and looked at her, before spinning around on her heels and walking out. Y/N sighed, closing the door, but Kate snuck up behind her and was there to tickle and hug and cuddle the pain away.

Okay! So! Just finished RLs and it was better than I expected! Definitely liked Soule's run WAY better than Milligan's, he had way better character development and made you actually care about the RLs (especially the side ones) way more, plus he actually got me to enjoy Red Lantern Guy Gardner, which was a feat in and of itself. That said, both Atrocitus and Dex-starr weren't really too likable in it, and more often than not, stood as antagonists or even villains, so I could see where fans of them would get fed up.
Like even throughout Milligan's run, which was pretty Atrocitus focused, you weren't really siding with him, and were kind of just sitting there watching him punch people and cry about rage until it swapped back to something interesting, like whatever Bleez was doing. Also SPEAKING of Bleez, I don't think she was really used to her full potential in either run. You see bits of it and both, and a bit more in Soule's run than Milligan's, but the writing surrounding her is just unbearable at times. For the majority of the comic, she's the only female main character and is just so sexualized all the time. Like almost all of her interactions with men are just so weird and almost disingenuous to her character??? Like idk especially in Milligan's run (but a bit in Soule's too just w a diff. vibe) a lot of her scenes feel very male gazey and whatnot. Compare all that to my two favorite Bleez scenes, (one Milligan, one Soule) both of which are with another woman, and you really get a much clearer and more compelling look at her character. The first, between her and Fatality of the Star Sapphires is semi early on, maybe abt half way through, and you really get a good look at her anger and pain, but also that first inkling of her being able to change and find peace, in Bleez almost joining the Star Sapphires. It's a great moment of conflict, and really shows you some of the potential later down the line w/ her character. The second is between her and Kara Zor-El (when Kara was a Red Lantern) and has to be one of, if not my no. 1 fave moment of the series. There, Bleez is injured, and feeling emotional after Rankorr just saved her life (ugh Rankorr 🙄) and Kara asks what it means to be a Red Lantern? What the point is, what makes it all worth it? And to that Bleez tells her something she'd been thinking about for a while, saying it's to make sure that there are no more Red Lanterns, which really is just such a sweet moment, and it really reminds you that these people were victims. They became these things because of their pain and suffering, and it really paints a picture of what the RL corps should be. Also Bleez and Kara decide to be friends, it's a really great moment.
And on that note, I really like where Soule ended it. I mean I think it probably could have ended two or three issues earlier, but I do appreciate him keeping it going just to wrap up Guy's issues and why he became a RL again in the first place, but that said, I'd be VERY disappointed if DC went and undid all the good stuff that happened at the end of this run. (And I'm sure they have already, this ended in like 2014/2015 and it's comics so it's probably been fucked up by now but STILL). Like it was definitely not the best for Atrocitus and Dex-starr, but the things they did with Ratchett, Skollox, and Zilius Zox??? DUDE. They (along w Bleez) really grew the most out of this series and I will be absolutely devastated if I learned that someone undid their deaths. I feel what they did is really the goal with RL characters. Their rage is unsustainable, they can't go on like that forever (that's how you get an Atrocitus) but having that second chance to fight back against those who hurt you, growing and changing yourself into a better person in the process? Like dude. That's what a RL book should be about. Especially that bit with Ratchett, where he grew past his rage and let go of his ring??? DUDE. and like Zilius Zox? Which I cannot BELIEVE Soule got me to care abt Zilius Zox, the dude is a total asshole, but him and Guy together were just so great. I mean never have I ever laughed at a death scene like that. Comparing him to a giant testicle? Just wow.
Anyways this has been way longer than I thought but to summarize: character development on side RLs good, Atrocitus pretty unsympathetic and who cares, Rankorr (I forgot to talk about him) literally so bland, I don't get the hype and it was weird how attached Bleeze got to him tbh (and how like he was sooooooo special because he was a human dude), but going into it this was definitely a series I had low expectations for, and it started out pretty trash mediocre with some good moments, then jumped up in quality with the author change, surprising me with some really GREAT character moments near the end. I think if they had kept these developments (which I'm not sure if they did, bc comics, and I've only ever read one RL appearance after this series ended) than they had a foundation to build something really great with the Red Lantern Corps

Yes, luthors completely ruined the show, I fucking hate that they sidelined danvers sisters and were focused on Lex/Lena in S4,S5. Who the fuck even want to watch Lex/Lena shit? Instead we could have got a lot of danvers sister moments. S5 was a total flop because they didn't focus on Kara at all. So much unnecessary drama from both Lena and Lex. You know I really like Lena but these SCs are only overdosing us with Lena to the point its nauseating. Whatever happens in the episode they will be tweeting Lena under Supergirl tag. Recently few Nia, Dansen fans called out their hypocrisy. I swear they don't care about Kara's character or development. Only around few Scs genuinely care about Kara and her story arc. Rest of them don't even give a fuck about her, only be posting Lena's pics 100 times under supergirl tag!
This is the “why we even needed Lex if he is not Kara’s enemy in the comics”. Like... there are multi other people who could have been the asholes of the season, even fuckign Leviathan that was teased as somethign big and in the end we got ... meh. The worst thing is, Lex is still there, still not punished. Plus the whole crisis shit, instead of fixing things ruined the plot more, made more holes and the writers instead of using smartly, they just go the easiest way and treat it as deus ex machina. What is super annoying.
As for Lobotomizer, we all moaned here about her more than 10000 times, but seriously, who wants to watch a whiny, butthurt white privileged and extremely rich bitchm, who thinks she is always right, is judge, jury and GOD and never pays for her shit and victimizes herself all the time. We have this shit in fucking NEWS. So give me a BREAK in a fictional show about a girl who has superpowers, flies and is screwed by a green rock.
UGH
I mean, holy fuck, we have Alex, we have Dreamer, we have Brainiac, Kelly, J’onn and M’ghan and instead of focusing on them, we watch how they waste the time for Lobotomizer who has the same problems since ep 1. How boring it is.
And I think the saddest thing is that I didn’t mind lena in the begining, but their fans made me hate her. Also, thanks to them I will never ever watch anything with KmG. So, congrats Scs.

Now about the recent news of Batwoman
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Status Post #9461: Apparently, there will be a new character becoming Batwoman for the Arrowverse show, according to recent casting info, instead of recasting Kate following Ruby Rose's departure due to number of reasons (whether it was due to either almost being paralysed as a result of herniated discs in her neck caused by stunt injuries during filming, the backlash she suffered from online trolls for not being Jewish like her character along with said trolls saying that Kate should not be played by someone who identifies as genderfluid like her or due to creative differences as someone close to the show said that she wasn't happy on the show and her stress during filming didn't make it a great experience as the crew grew irritated but I certainly believe it's due to health reasons relating to the first possible reason).
Now, I don't even think it would ultimately result in the upcoming second seasom becoming an improvement over the first season (the show has been considered to be the weakest of the Arrowverse, especially due to it being the lowest ranked of the shows on IMDb with a 3.5/10 score, along with pandering towards PC culture) as I do think the show should have a whole new writing staff who actually cares about the character and are fans of the source material along with that I'm not buying it at all since no-one involved in the show has outright said this is going to happen. From what we know, it could be just be ultimately a casting side for someone who will ultimately not replace Kate but in fact Holly Robinson, who in the comics, is Catwoman's ally and temporary replacement.
One Twitter user said that Cassandra shouldn't be Batwoman, but Batman and that The CW should use either Stephanie Brown or Harper Row instead after someome suggested that she should be the new Batwoman in the Arrowverse.
Here's the thing, I don't think Batman has ever been a mixed-gender mantle like Robin (notable female Robins include Carrie Kelley, Stephanie Brown, Helena Wayne [N52 Earth 2] and Riko Sheridan) and Nightwing (Cheyenne Freemont, Kara Zor-L, Stephanie Brown [possible future in the last pre-Flashpoint issue of Batgirl] and Barbara Gordon [Smallville]), so I'm not sure about that.
I think it's better to take this with a grain of salt.

ok but going about the logic of comics history isn't it brainy and dreamer a thing in the comics too? like i get that some people have different preference for ships and that's ok what i don't get is why you guys are always saying that if brainy and nia get together he is gonna mess up the timeline but dating kara it is okay isn't that double standard? I mean brainy soon or later have to go back home how do you see that play out if he dating anyone?(And sorry if i sound snappy )
It’s okay anon, I don’t think you’re being snappy. And I’m sorry if I sound frustrated at all, I promise I’m not frustrated with you. I’m actually just frustrated with the show’s apparent refusal to make these really important things clear to people who aren’t familiar with the comics.
(Though I have to be honest, I don’t actually read comics myself (yet). I just have a lot of friends who do. Most of the things I know about this stuff comes from @kara-querl, but I’ll do the best I can to explain the basics and hopefully clear up some of the confusing stuff for you. Again, it’s not your fault that you don’t know these things - it’s the show’s fault for not explaining them.)
Now, as for Brainy/“Dreamer” being a thing in the comics… you’re sort of right, but not in the way you’re probably thinking.
There is one version of Brainy (from a comics run called the Threeboot) who ends up with Nura Nal, aka Dream Girl. I’d highly recommend reading this summary of their story on twitter (just prepare yourself, because it’s a looong thread, and also, uh, the story is probably not what you’d expect it to be… especially towards the end).
However, Nura Nal is not Nia Nal. They’re two completely different characters, and both of them very much exist in the CW show’s universe. A lot of people watching SG don’t seem to know about this distinction (because the show has not outright explained it yet), so when they hear that Brainy had a relationship with “Dream Girl” in the comics, they assume (like you did) that Brainy/Nia is a comics canon couple like Kara/Brainy is. But that’s not actually true.
Nura is also the reason why so many people are worried about Brainy/Nia messing up the timeline. But more on that later.
For future reference, this is Nura (with a bonus Brainy in the background):
Tumblr media
She’s not really anything like Nia, in either personality, looks, or her dynamic with Brainy. They have basically the same powers (though Nura could never shoot “dream energy” out of her hands), and the writers seem to have borrowed aspects of Nura’s relationship with her sister Mysa for Nia and Maeve’s storyline, but that’s pretty much where their similarities end.
(The rest of this is gonna go under a cut, because it’s a LOT of information. I know you didn’t ask for a meta, anon, but that’s just kinda what happened, sorry. Hopefully it’s not too overwhelming.)
Nura is a descendant of Nia, the character that we have on the show. She lives in the 31st century and is a member of the Legion of Superheroes, just like Brainy. The fact that Nia is Nura’s great-great-etc-grandmother has been confirmed in multiple interviews. Here’s a quote from Queller (one of the show’s EPs) from SDCC, before the season even started airing:
Tumblr media
Hints about Nura were dropped in the show as early as 4.02 (which was probably close to being filmed around the time of SDCC). In that episode, Brainy asked Nia if he already knew her because she “looked familiar”, and then there was that look of recognition on his face when she told him her name…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then in 4.08, when Alex asked Brainy if he knew about Nia Nal in the 31st century, his only reaction is this:
Tumblr media
Because it’s not Nia that he knows, it’s Nura. But he didn’t want to reveal too much about the future by saying that.
However, Brainy isn’t perfect, and eventually he slipped up. He accidentally called Nia “Nura” later on in the episode, showing how closely he associates them in his mind.
Tumblr media
This is the moment in which Nura’s existence was officially made canon on the show.
There’s also the moment towards the end of 4.08 where Brainy told Nia that she “contains greatness,” but he couldn’t tell her how he knew that. This isn’t directly a reference to Nura, but it stands to reason that Nura is the “how” answer to how he knows this about Nia/her family.
Nura is also presumably the person that Nia and Brainy were arguing over in 4.13, whom he refused to talk about. (Tbh, I think the fact that the show apparently skipped over Nia first learning about her descendant is a grave oversight, because for non-comics fans it probably appeared to come out of nowhere.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, just to be completely clear: Nia has never been Brainy’s love interest in the comics (in fact, she doesn’t even exist in the comics at all - she’s an original character created for the show), and Nura, Brainy’s actual love interest (again, specifically only from the Threeboot comics run) definitely 100% exists in the CW show’s universe. We know this because there have been multiple references to her on the show throughout the entire season.
Based on the fact that Brainy is so familiar with how Nia’s powers work and how to train her, it stands to reason that he and Nura are rather… close. We just don’t know how close yet, because Brainy refuses to say anything about her to either Nia or us, the audience. At the very least, they’re teammates and friends. At most… well, they were engaged in the Threeboot, so…
So, to get back to your original question about shipping: From what I’ve seen, the fact that Brainy and Nura had a romance in the comics is actually a big reason why a lot of comics fans don’t ship Brainy/Nia. I can’t speak for everyone obviously, but I know that for quite a few people, the idea of Brainy dating Nia basically feels like him dating his girlfriend’s great-grandma (especially since Brainy’s references to Nura have made people wonder if they might actually have a romantic history on the show, too). It’s not quite on the same level as Marty McFly’s mother trying to kiss her own son in the first Back to the Future movie, but it’s still just… kinda squicky in a smiliar way, you know?
Nura’s existence is also what people are typically referring to when we talk about Brainy/Nia disrupting the timeline. If Brainy were to get with Nia, then that would essentially erase Nura from existence. We know that Nia’s timeline would get seriously messed up if she got together with Brainy, because she has a traceable lineage of descendants going at least 1,000 years into the future. If Brainy got in the middle of that, if he changed Nia’s destiny by allowing her to fall in love with him, then that whole timeline - Nia’s entire legacy, which Brainy is clearly familiar with - would be drastically altered.
What kind of person would Brainy be if he agreed to date Nia, knowing that doing so would erase Nura (and her sister Mysa, and anyone else related to them) in the 31st century? Knowingly and willfully wiping out an entire lineage, including someone that he personally knows and cares about? Does that really sound like something Brainy would do?
This is probably the biggest reason why Brainy/Nia just doesn’t work for a lot of us, particularly comics fans who have caught all the Nura references so far this season. It’s not about personal ship preferences - it’s about character consistency, specifically Brainy’s. We don’t want him to get with Nia because doing so feels wildly selfish and out of character for him.
(In fact, Brainy interacting as much as he already has with Nia personally stresses me out, because by pushing her to be a superhero and training her himself, he’s already altered her timeline in some unknowable way. We just have to hope he knows how far he can push it.)
Tumblr media
We’ve already seen Brainy caution Nia about them potentially creating a paradox, and it seems like they’ve had a similar argument to this one at least once before off-screen. He must know what the dangers of doing something as serious as getting romantically involved with her would be, because he listed them all off to Alex and Kara in 4.08:
Tumblr media
His Keanu Reeves movie quote excuse in the most recent episode (4.15) was flimsy at best, but when he says that he and Nia can never be together, his tone of voice noticeably changes to become more serious, making it obvious that he means it.
Tumblr media
With all of that stuff in mind now… do you see why so many of us are confused and even upset by the promise of more “will they/won’t they” for Brainy/Nia?
Why would the showrunners make Nura’s existence canon if they’re not going to even touch on the issue of how Brainy and Nia getting together would obviously erase her? It’s almost like the Brainy/Nia thing has to conclude with them not ending up together, because otherwise, what does that say about Nura, and the future that Brainy knows? It would change a lot - Nura, who has existed in the comics since 1964, would be GONE - and given how much Brainy has been shown to care about the future and the timeline, I just can’t see him going along with that. I just can’t. (And neither can a lot of other people.)
But of course, this is Supergirl we’re talking about here, so I don’t have a ton of faith in the EPs or writers. They could very well just ignore all that stuff and shove Brainy and Nia together anyway. So, this isn’t me saying that Brainy and Nia will definitely not get together. After all, I don’t write the show.
This is just me explaining why a lot of people don’t think that this Brainy/Nia storyline makes sense, given the show’s own references to Nura, as well as their establishment of Brainy as a character who cares deeply about the timeline. Brainy dating Nia would directly contradict both of those previous writing choices.
And why would the writers do that? Why would they directly contradict their own setup? Fans who are familiar with Nura and have picked up on all these clues are just frustrated because we don’t understand this.
TLDR: Brainy/Nia is not comics canon. Nia Nal is the ancestor of Nura Nal, Brainy’s actual love interest from the comics, who also exists within the show and lives in the 31st century. And Brainy/Nia getting together would erase Nura, and thus mess up the timeline.
Okay, that was a lot. Hopefully that cleared some things up for you about both the comic history, as well as the whole Brainy/Nia timeline issue. I’m gonna address the rest of your questions more briefly bc I’m tired now lol.
Why won’t Brainy getting with Kara mess up the timeline like it would with Nia?
The simplest answer to this one is that we don’t know what the future is supposed to hold for Kara. The Legion made a point of saying last season that their knowledge of the events of Supergirl’s future are vague and largely unknown. We don’t know anything about her having any descendants, or a specific legacy that needs to remain intact like Nia clearly has. (If they didn’t want to create this problem for Nia, then they didn’t have to establish those things for her either… but they did.)
What about Brainy going back to the future eventually?
I kind of already talked about this whole thing here, so you can just read that post to see my take on it. The bottom line is, I don’t think that’s the biggest issue here, largely for BTS/casting reasons. Basically, I think it’s very unlikely that Brainy is going to go back to the future anytime soon. And because of that, I don’t think it’s really necessary to bring it up as an argument against either Brainy/Nia or Brainy/Kara.
And finally, with regards to the whole “why do people keep saying that Kara/Brainy is THE comics canon ship when other ships like Brainy/Dream Girl also exist in the comics?” thing, which is kinda the whole point of your ask from what I can tell, I recommend that you check out this post and these tweets, which (briefly) outline all the different versions of Kara and Brainy that have existed in various media over the past 60 years, and how many of them have ended up with each other. (Spoiler Alert: There’s a very good reason why most comics fans are also Karadox shippers.)
So, in conclusion, can people ship Brainy/Nia if they want to? Of course. People can ship whatever they want. I ship Brainy and Winn after all, even though that’s not ever going to be canon, because I like their dynamic and shipping is supposed to be fun. If people want to create fanart or fics or whatever for Brainy/Nia, then they can totally do that. My issues aren’t with what ships people personally prefer. My issues are with what the actual show is doing in canon, especially within the context of the entire Supergirl mythos.
Look at it this way: If the show doesn’t have Kara eventually fall for Brainy, then CW Kara will be the only version of Kara who had a version of Brainy in her story, and did not fall in love with him.
Like, wow. Talk about going against history.

Any thoughts on the new Zod series and the other Superman-related announcements at SDCC ?
Seems like most of the actual exciting announcements came from the DC Connect leaks. Despite this SDCC being hyped up as a "return to comics", DC didn't seem ready to actually reveal much (nor did Marvel to be fair).
Tumblr media
Biggest announcement that I care about is Joe Casey making a surprise return to DC for a Zod book! Solicit sounds like a dream come true, my own idea for a Zod book was him making moves to establish New Krypton as a power with influence in the United Planets, and this is doing something different but intriguing nonetheless. Need to reread Casey's Superman, I believe he did some cool stuff with Pokolistan Zod previously, but this is his first time working with the genuine deal. Seems Ursa and Lor are gone/dead. I have a theory that this is spinning out of the 2024 Brainiac event. Williamson had Supes and Zod divide Kandor between themselves, and my hunch is the event will be Brainiac trying to reclaim Kandor. I predict he will reclaim Zod's half and also bottle Ursa and Lor too, which Zod will blame Kal for. Can't wait to see what Casey does, this might finally give us the big Zod story we've been waiting for.
From the leaks we know that Tamaki/Patridge are doing a Supergirl Special that hopefully is a prologue to a new Supergirl book, similar to what just happened with Power Girl. Tamaki's Being Super was good, my only qualm is that it turned Kara into Clark Lite. That's not what I want for the mainline Kara, I don't want Kara wearing glasses, or being a journalist, or even having a secret identity, none of that appeals to me. I don't think it makes sense for her character, nor does it make for an interesting character. If DC wants me to check a Tamaki Supergirl book out, I need to know Tamaki gets that Kara isn't Kal and won't try to make her fit his mold. Especially after King's excellent miniseries, Kara needs someone who is going to tell stories with her that you could only do with Kara.
Neither Williamson nor PKJ want to do a Mxy story per their own words which is a bummer. Maybe PKJ was trolling/lying since I've listened to interviews where he said he liked Mxy and had story ideas for him, or maybe he changed his mind like he did with Toyman. PKJ had a surprise villain appear in the Metallo arc with Cyborg Superman, I'm betting another classic Superman villain will be involved in this upcoming Blue Earth arc. Ultra-Humanite is my guess since PKJ has said he wants to deliver on those two dangling plot threads that Morrison set up. Williamson has a new villain coming in the Chained, and also teases stuff coming for Livewire, Parasite, and Toyman. I continue to be pleased with all the love the Superman Rogues are getting.
No announcements/appearances from Taylor at the Superman panel which is giving me the slightest bit of optimism that he's well and truly done with Superman for a while. He'll probably shove Jon onto the Titans team but I don't care about that. Jon wasn't even mentioned at all, he's well and truly flopped at this point. Until he gets a new creative team to try and salvage him, I'm fine with him playing support in Action and/or on the Titans.

JLvGvK sounds and looks fun as hell, keep the JL on Earth 0 disbanded forever and do more crossovers like this instead
Anonymous asked: What do you expect from this rumored Crisis on Infinite Earths animated movie?

This has been rumored for ages, so maybe they were able to get Conroy in the studio before his death? Otherwise just have Terry be the DCAU Batman, because there's no way the DCAU guys aren't going to show up. Rumor was every animated DC incarnation was going to be involved, and I'm morbidly curious to see if they're actually getting the budget to pull that off (my hunch is no).
Adams claimed that the Tomorrowverse will continue after this, so my guess is that this is going to be them incorporating other takes into the Tomorrowverse - I expect Stana Katic Diana to be folded into the Post Crisis Earth, maybe Keaton Hal Jordan too - and this will mark the end of the Multiverse stories for a while. If Adams is lying then this will kill off the Tomorrowverse so they can switch to making DTVs for the DCU. Warworld wasn't good so I'm fine with them ending the Tomorrowverse, they made a lot of weird choices there anyway.
Oh and DC is adapting Watchmen again. I can only assume this is laying the groundwork for a Doomsday Clock adaption down the road, because otherwise what's the point? Animation guys are not going to turn in a better script than Snyder did, nor can they match the budget of the Snyder movie either
Otherwise...
Ram V signing a DC exclusive is welcome news, I expect Tec will remain his main book for the duration of his two year contract, but this means we will keep getting great side books like the Vigil or Swamp Thing.
Gotham War sounds boring, I'm eager to get through it to the other side
New Outsiders book that is basically DC Planetary interests me, good to see Batwoman moving back to being the Bat who does weird shit rather than being "the soldier"
Seems Wells will remain on ASM for another year, bummer. Slott's getting two Spider-books
At least that Spider-Man 2 trailer looks great! Spidey's gift and curse is that he always has something good coming even when his books suck, which lets me scratch that itch without the comics, but also seems to uplift Spidey's sales even when his books suck. No matter how bad his books are they always sell, leaving Marvel no incentive to purge Spidey editorial the way they need to
Hickman's Ultimate Universe reboot announcements did not materialize, did they decide to save those until after Invasion ends, or are there already troubles behind the scenes?
None of the X-Books are appealing to me, I'm sticking with Gillen's Immortal but once that wraps I think I'll be done.
Pretty boring SDCC honestly. Obviously NYCC 2022 was a rare blowout event, but SDCC didn't even try to match that energy.
