#Homicide: the Movie

Terribly hungover this morning. I will go to work because it's taken me the night to work out yeah a happy(ish) ending does happen for Frank and Tim. There's a lot of years between 2000 and now. (2000 end has just happened to me yesterday because when I saw the movie on YouTube sometime midway between 2000 and 2023 and it was only in pieces and without the full story behind Ryland etc). Right so the ending (thank god for the sliver of ambiguity for the 2000 end) The only person who dreams on the show is Tim. The Gee/Crosetti/Felton card game is just a dream. No afterlife exists on the show ever death is death and nothing after. So yeah if Tim's suicidal so he probably did imagine the remaining chair was for him. But I don't think he offed himself because:
he's a tenacious bastard and he wouldn't give up on Adena and the others
he did confess to Frank and lanced the boil then instead of holding it inside
if he was going to kill himself it would have been after homeless man and he didn't
he would have paid by going to prison vigilante 'justice' needs an answer and penitence and tim would expect nothing else and that's why he disappeared fishing between 1999 and 2000 to work this out
just like he had to confess frank had to shop him in (hence blue marker on the board)
blue marker doesn't have a time frame and neither does blue marker mean that the criminal is dead
but frank wouldn't wait so yeah tim went to prison in 2000 there's a lot of years between 2000 and 2023 so lives change and people change
frank couldn't absolve him then but yeah that's a lot of years in between and then and now
(like COVID happened and so many of us changed from inside out)
i dont know if tim was in prison all that time probably not because pushing danvers aside and for the reasons he did killed he probably got a lighter sentence than expected (and life in prison is tough for a police officer so he must have spent a shit ton of time in solitary or something no good but he's a survivor)
all they have is a rooftop confession to a non Baltimore homicide detective and no real evidence unless he puts it in an official statement and he wouldnt do it because there's something self preservation there or maybe the confession was enough
get to 2020 enough nice round number and COVID frank forgives/absolves tim and him get together (haven't worked that out) but it DOES happen
mary's still alive because if mary was dead frank would never take it up with tim for the guilt etc.
but she cedes because idk she got nearly a full lifetime and the older you get the more stuff like this matters and less at the same time she knows how important tim is to frank and vice versa and tim has the rest, she's still around though because there's no way that they would part not when the children are around and also after nearly a lifetime
mary's left frank before
anyway a happier ending is so much more possible for me now that um nearly 25 years have passed and I dont have to imagine the future because i've lived it. i may not write this but i'll try to au gif it had to put it down messy as it is because i need to shower and get to work

abed, along with portraying many other niche aspects of being an autistic individual, is one of the only characters i’ve ever seen accurately represent what it’s like to feel genuine anger and wish misfortune upon people who harbor incorrect opinions about movies or tv shows. i get it man. i really do.

version of the story where liu survived and wrote a book about his brother is so fucking funny to me.
Imagine liu, sitting on a desk, pen and paper and thinking to himself "damn. this shit is gonna pop off with the true crime weirdos and weird fangirls"
if you suffered, might as well make bank off of that suffering, y'know

I never thought yesterday would happen.
For years I have theorized in my brain what it what I would do or say if I ever met Jhonen.
And I did yesterday. I met him. Face to face. Had a little conversation to him.
And honestly? It filled me with such a poignant existential dread that I wasn’t prepared for. Which isn’t bad? Just odd. As a fictive there is something to existential about meeting your creator, and it has a distinct edge of irony considering the events of the later JTHM comics. Also no, I mentioned nothing about this I am sure that would have weirded him out beyond comprehension. I was trying to avoid doing that as much as possible.
I have been watching Invader Zim since it aired. I recieved JTHM and Squee! for my 13th birthday and im 27 now.
This series (and by extension, this blog) have been so important to me for years. The JTHM fanbase has been very dear to me for a long time, actually!
I didn’t give him anything. I had planned to do a few art pieces for the event, but frankly I didn’t have the time. I didn’t want him to sign anything (and he doesnt like signing things anyway) so i just asked him about any projects he has planned for the future. He’s not, btw. He’s enjoying doing nothing hah.
It was also nice finally meeting a long-time mutual from here @hyenafan !!
So yeah, if anyone else attended the event, I would love to hear your thoughts! I would love to hear your unanswered questions and anything interesting that happened during your meet & greet with the C&C!

Bonus: the second image is Jhonen asking for the movie to be downvoted.
Bonus 2: my shirt was designed by @devnny !

what is important to me in the inevitable softboyifying of benson is that he is not actually all there politically. like. yes, he points out that malls are part of corporate greed. yes, he targets his shitty manager and a homophobic dickhead. yes he hates cops. BUT look at him. he insinuates unkind things about a black woman who is just trying to do her job and shoots her in the leg for calling him out on it. he pokes fun at mrs. beard's disability before threatening her life too. he expresses insane opinions and false stats about teen celibacy. i love this guy and he clearly has "stick it to the man" type of values. but also he's fucking nuts. please do not depict him as a paragon of virtuous opinions after watching the movie where he fucking shoots and threatens a bunch of people including random innocent cashiers and shit. i will go insane

Detective Conan for the osmosis ask meme
Dashboard Osmosis understanding of Detective Conan!
Main knowledge: it's an anime that's been going on for about a thousand years, and he shares a couple movies with Lupin!
Used to be a Precocious Teen who wanted to be? was? a detective. ~*Plot Things*~ presumably happen and now he's stuck in the body of a child and actively wants to figure out how to return to his grown up form. I think he may occasionally revert back but I have no idea what the mechanics are behind this. He also acts child-like but I can't tell if that's part of the curse, him keeping up a ruse, or if he's just Like That...
His father (guardian?) is a detective, but a bumbling one. Conan goes around solving all the mysteries but needs to be sneaky about it so people don't realize he's the one solving them.
He has a sister(?) with the most improbable and infuriating anime hair style I have ever seen and that's saying something.
Conan from memory... cute lil nerd
