– Peste 120! Pe vremea când aveam I3 am jucat Watch Dogs pe…

purgatory one was such an irl fever dream
No One Made It Out Unscathed.
everyone on every day at the exact second the server opens, weekly or monthly streamers suddenly becoming daily streamers, chill players suddenly calculating out which food gives the best saturation or how to get 0.1% of a point better on missions, Tubbo having actual nightmares, Cellbit's voice that wasn't great at the start taking even more of a beating due to constant screaming, Roier fully losing his shit a week and a half in - leading to a completely player-driven reset of how the xp and enchantment systems were being utilised (Because Everyone Was Fucking Miserable), the point where the gay ninjas had been eliminated but not told what would happen to them so everyone was like really weirdly intensely stressed out for about 14 hours, Tubbo just being too actually psyched out to beat Phil in the 1v1, how REAL the emotions were from the creators when they finally saw their kids again and THEN THE ROOF STARTED TO CAVE IN, loads of creators just taking a full break from the server when the nuke went off with a bunch of them not returning for MONTHS, the creators later being asked if they want to join purgatory two and many being like "lmao, no ❤️" and two characters (very much main characters in terms of lore) straight up canonically dying in the nuke blast
and there was just... a vibe to it. our eggs will die if we lose. if we're not being lied to AND if we're not the cursed team. how do we know who's the cursed team? should we lose on purpose if we're not? we're obviously the cursed team (EVERY TEAM SAID THIS).
and the chatters didn't escape the psychological torture this event organically produced. our children have been missing for months at this point and it almost doesn't matter who wins because everyone is at the end of their tether and absolutely every egg could theoretically die.
Enjoy, Sinners.

Bennett is just so fucking well written, he's so good and kind and lovely and yet every single moment of anger he had was completely justified, i dont know how to explain it but he's a very satisfying character, similar to sybil, they really make you feel like you're in the story
in conclusion aabria writes npcs with so much heart and depth and it blows my mind every single time, i love her, thank you for coming to my tedtalk

The property of Violant is that it’s incredibly hard to forget instances of, right?
So if someone had violant lipstick, and left a lipstick mark on clothing or someone’s face, would that just… echo in the mind of anyone who saw it? Would you have like a permanent reminder of That Kiss on whatever surface the lipstick stuck to? Could you go like three days and meet someone and they still see the kiss mark clear as day? Burned into the memory of anyone who saw before you could desperately try to cover it up, and even then…
…Violant lipstick seems like a crazy scandal starter is what I’m saying.

I can't believe they actually tried to put The Sims 3 with its open world focus, detailed social interactions, moodlets, etc. onto the Nintendo DS (not even the 3DS, the original DS, although there was a version for the 3DS too)

just realized what my overarching pet peeve with the triple A visual arms race is - it's the god damn adaptive resolution. it's this umbrella telltale scam that contains all the snake oil we've been slowly fed and gives away the entire false equivalence of trying to one-up the competition by feature bloat on hardware that just doesn't handle it. games are so rammed up the wazoo with ray tracing and global illumination sims and trillion polygon models with performance modes and SSDs sweating for blazing fast speeds that everything just "secretly" runs at upscaled 900p now. and nothing is crisp or legible and anti aliasing is being retooled as a further smokescreen for it and that is our next generation playstation experience. it slowly crept up in the prev gen and absolutely exploded with this gen's idiotic ambitions and we all just took it and now every game looks like fucking mush. I can't believe the scam that's being run here. how do we not care about this trade-off?? seven-year dev cycle games with more polish than a chrome teapot roll out with LOD pop-in on a hero character's hair that dissolves into grain noise when you jerk the camera too much.
I've been exclusively console gaming for the past decade and just happened to need a powerful laptop for work this year - where I've now replayed some of my multiplatform faves. at like low-to-medium settings but with dynamic resolution forced the fuck off and all the masturbatory nonsense switched off and it is an incomparably better experience, and yes, I mean visually - geometry and shape language are legible, art direction is no longer hidden behind a screen of upscaled pixels and beholden to careful resource allocation for set pieces, and it all looks so utterly fine with the reflections and lighting being baked-in instead of mathematically simulated. I don't want to name names and start slinging shit at developers here, it's all a top-down industry issue obviously, but man. such dung being shoveled onto us for seventy dollars and they don't even give you the courtesy to make it legible at 1080p - a small desk computer screen. for fuck's sake. unreal engine 3 games looked fine. what is going on here
Bobbed and weaved for two years trying not to overpay for a PS5 from scalpers, finally got one at market value, and I still have yet to play a seventy dollar game on it that's as legible as its counterpart on a god damn laptop

Well!!!! I'm exhausted. BUT I'm content.
I know activity on some of my blogs here has been somewhat scarce, but I'm doing my best considering my situation. I have some commissions to complete, chores to attend, and work shifts to take care of.
GOOD NEWS, though;
I bought a new laptop, which will run a lot smoother and allow me to play higher-running games! It's set to arrive by the middle of next week :)
Bought two new bat plush friends to add to my colony!
I will be back in therapy soon!

I've read that "apology" by EA/Respawn for the busted Jedi: Survivor PC version and they pretty much said that they're using their consumers as beta testers ,,,, they're not even hiding it anymore. except no one is getting paid, only ripped off. now the whole Redfall fiasco which is a repeat of Forspoken and Jedi: Survivor
and they still have the guts to ask 70€ for these barely functional games that even people with nuclear reactor PCs can't run properly. we're barely halfway through 2023 and we're on AAA Game Controversy number 4 or 5 idk I'm not keeping count

Since you're my Monster Hunter mutual I gotta ask: I just saw that Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak are on sale on the Switch, would that be a good game to start with or not?
It's $40 so I dunno if I'll even get it now or not but I wanna keep it in mind
For your first Monster Hunter game, I'd say yeah. Gen 5 (World: Iceborne DLC, Stories 2, and Rise: Sunbreak DLC) are the most accessible MH games so far, with a bunch of QOL features, such as:
Being able to move and heal at the same time
Infinite whetstones (used to sharpen blade weapons)
Gathering materials is much faster
Automatic sheathing
Not needing to press a button to start climbing ledges
Part specific monster parts (rathalos tail for example) can be part of the generic carving/reward pool so you don't need to break that specific part to get said part
Can restock supplies at base camp
No negative buffs on armour
No negative food effects
No need for hot/cool drinks (Rise only)
And more I am probably forgetting!
...That makes the older games look really bad actually. Imo gen 3 onwards is good Monster Hunter. The first one is the worst please do not ever play that. But yeah Rise seems like a good way to go. If you like the games enough then I'm sure you'll be fine with playing older games like Generations Ultimate (also on switch, quite cheap secondhand. Here at least), especially with Rise as your first game as the Hunter Arts in it are quite similar to wirebug skills. You may also find Rise hard at first if you do go to buy it; This is normal. I will go into more detail on this tomorrow I was about to go to bed but a mutual asks me about good MH entry games and I go Feral
