"Israeli occupation forces sent drones with speakers threatening civilians in Masafer Yatta, south Hebron (West Bank), not to resist in any way." (source)
the messages translates to: "we are in a time of war. we advice you to look after your children. anyone who thinks of doing something, we'll reach them. and if necessary, kill them."
palestinians, on the other hand, reply to the drone by saying "we're not doing anything. we're staying in our houses, minding our business. leave us alone." the other one just laughs at it, saying "okay, sure." at the threat.
perhaps this is the most fucking dystopian thing i've seen until now.

Regarding this thread, in which I am blocked from responding:
@trailofstardust the thread was specifically about Hebron and so was my response, particularly regarding the unrelenting cruelty of forbidding Jewish access to the Tomb of the Patriarchs for 700+ years.
"Something their grandparents did" - again concerning Hebron, yes. "Fearful that Israeli soldiers would exact retribution for the 1929 massacre of the city's Jewish community, Hebron's residents flew white sheets from their windows and rooftops."
But this did occur in other parts of Palestine too, precisely because death-level oppression of Jews had been so widely enjoyed. As Mahmoud Abbas said about himself and his parents in Safed: "People were motivated to run away... They feared retribution from Zionist terrorist organizations - particularly from the Safed ones. Those of us from Safed especially feared that the Jews harbored old desires to avenge what happened during the 1929 uprising... This was in the memory of our families and parents... They realized the balance of forces was shifting and therefore the whole town was abandoned on the basis of this rationale - saving our lives and our belongings."
As for "groups being interchangeable": there certainly were multiple distinct groups oppressing and massacring Jews over the years, and you can check my tags for a lot of content specifically about Muslims or Christians or Ottomans or Arabs or Palestinians each. In the specific context of the ugliness and tensions in Israeli-occupied Hebron, the point is that all prior landlords were worse.
In the 21st century, "what your grandparents did" should not determine how people are treated. I want better conditions for Palestinians in Hebron and elsewhere, including their own contiguous state. But I will not sit quietly for an ahistorical litany of how bad things are in Hebron only NOW, after the Fire Nation attacked.

After seeing the protests in Hebron on I ran to the snap map to see and y'all that's not the only place. Jenin & Tulkarm are protesting, too. And they aren't small protests, either 👀
Also, posted an hour ago: the people in Al-Shifa Hospital seem to be raising each other's morale, but I don't speak their language so I'm not sure. They seem high spirited for sure though. Around the same time someone north of the hospital posted some more of...something in the sky, an attack for sure. I have a screen recording of it all if someone wants to help translate.
Otherwise: some more updates from Aljazeera

Where can I find information about Hebron? Some person on here “hero-Israel” account with a blog with screenshots in relation to one of your posts where you talked about Israel’s continual and previously documented abuse, I can’t find the post though and I’m very interested in the information for research that I’m doing. Any references to resources on the topic of Israel’s long timeline of colonial abuse would be much appreciated.
I think you're either referring to this post or this post. Let me know if one of them is the one.
Please check out my tagged/hebron as I have tons of posts there documenting the situation in Hebron, including so many video of child abductions and detentions, so many stories documenting land theft and home demolitions and settler violence amongst so much more.
Outside of my blog, look up Shuhada Street, the Ibrahimi mosque massacre, the demolition orders of beduin villages in Hebron like Um el Kheir and Susiya and (gruesome) cases like the murder committed by Elor Azaria for a start.
