if I were to write the script for a Heathers (1988) remake, I'd: 1) make it a movie misical (and by that I mean, combine the best parts of the movie and the musical into one) , 2) cast a girl to play JD, give her she/he pronouns, and make him a lesbian, 3) keep the romance/ chemistry JD/Veronica plot except now it's gay, 4) whoops Veronica (aka Ronnie) is now a non binary lesbian oops, 5) the Heathers are in a toxic polyam/thruple relationship, 6) at least one of the Heathers is a transwoman/transfemme, no i won't say which, 7) Kurt and Ram actually are gay for each other, 8) everything else is pretty much the same, 9) Veronica ends up with her best friend Martha at the end, 10) (somehow, not sure how) there's a happy ending :)

Coming to think about it, Veronica's actually a worse person than Heather Chandler.

Whether she's worse than Kurt and Ram, I'll leave it to the air, since both of their crimes are pretty bad — What's worse, rape or murder? Not gonna get into that subject.

Heather Chandler, though? What did she do other than being a general jerk? Sure, she was pretty bad - an asshole, even, but she didn't literally murder three of her classmates (true, Veronica didn't want to kill Kurt and Ram, but she still did, so it counts too).

In the musical, she addresses their deaths with more guilt, but in the movie she's pretty indifferent about them, especially Heather's. Musical Veronica takes in account the fact that they could have grown to be better people and doesn't even want to kill any of them in the first place. Movie Veronica, however, actually does want to kill Heather Chandler, and expresses so in a few of her diary entries.

I really like the fact that they made her feel more guilty about the murderers in the musical, although that doesn't take away the fact that, at least in my opinion, Veronica's a worse person than the three classmates that died at her and JD's hands.
