X MEN 97 SPOILERS AHEAD

I know it wasn't intended as comedic, but when Scott was talking to Jean about Charles and how he failed to ask him about how to be a father, I genuinly laughed out loud because

Charles is many things - a dreamer, a good teacher, a kind person, incredibly smart... but a good father? That's not one of his redeeming qualities.

Erik/Magnus may be a manipulative little bitch, but he would destroy entire worlds if anyone dared to lay a finger on any of his children. Even after the comics took away his lineage with the twins, he'd still say he loved them as if that never happened. He still considered Wanda and Pietro his own children, he still saw Billy, Tommy and Luna as his grandchildren. When he learnt he couldn't bring Anya back, he was devastated (never forgiving them for that they did him real dirty). He loves Lorna even if he hides it behind the though love facade.

Charles loves his x-men, sure. But he's sacrificed them no problem many, many times. And let's not even open the box of good-old Chuck abandoning not one, but two children of his in two different planets: David and Lilandra.

Scott was hurting and he's always been soft on Charles, that kind man who took him in no hesitation. But his eyes are as tinted as his ruby glasses, and often fails to see that Charles and Erik/Magnus are two sides of the same coin.

Ah how I love my mutants, not many characters are so well constructed and filled with true conflicting layers.

Hey so you have what I assume is an extremely coveted url. I’m curious, do you remember when you snagged it? I feel like it must’ve been super early Essek days, is there a story there?

Hello! Honestly, I've noticed the CR fandom is a lot less into character name urls than previous fandoms I've been in (and often even fandom-specific urls—I see a lot more generic D&D or fantasy urls than anything else), whereas I come from spaces where if you didn't have a correctly-spelled character name as your url, lol, sucked to be you. I don't see that these days, which is, in my opinion, very positive! So I don't know that I'd say that it's coveted by any means, since I don't think that's as much of a thing around these parts.

(It's also a letter off of course, but... regardless, lol.)

I actually didn't pick up this url until sometime around 91 because that episode made me go 👀 about Essek—I binged all of the show very quickly until I caught up right before the Cathedral sequence, and I still had an old Star Trek url even though I hadn't really been in Star Trek fandom in years, and at that point I was very ready for a vibe change anyway. Honestly I don't even think I planned on keeping it for very long at the time? I grabbed it as a placefiller at first in lieu of anything more clever, but it worked so I kept it.

I definitely did not go "this funky little agnostic is gonna be my brand for four years running" but you know. Here we are.
