Hello people of tumblr and welcome to what I like to call “Drawing my Gender Envy list” a new series of art exploring the things in my life that have altered how I present myself these days, as a very masc leaning lesbian!
We’re starting off with Slash from Guns n Roses (real guy I know! The rest of the list will probably be fictional) and with good reason!!!
Behold. Slash from Guns N Roses. I might talk... awhile about this hold on to your seatbelts.
I first learned who slash was from Guitar hero III: Legends of Rock. I KNOW! The game was pretty new back then and we’d gotten it from a relative, and I was... enamored. Enthralled. By this warlord, this god of rock. I was probably 6-7 years old and this man set the course of my life with his 3D render from 2007
this very screen (not my screenshot but it’s still the game) is what altered my life permanently.
It progressed. I wanted to look like him so badly. So badly dude. Every time I would find a top hat or sunglasses I would spend as long as humanly possible wearing them just to stare at my shadow and go... woag I look like slash.... one time my brother ran away from home on st Patrick’s day and I had my silly hat on and I spent more time staring at myself than caring about where my brother even went.
I remember my brother talking about the les Paul guitars and how he wanted one bc it’s iconic and I just remember tuning him out going ... woag slash....
and on so many occasions from ages 6-12 ish I was so deeply bewitched by Slash from Guns n Roses. I don’t even really listen to Guns N’ Roses I only pretty much know their main few songs I just know...
