A/n: I’ve decided to write something for Peter Quill

Prompt used:

“Okay, but I think we should do that again. For research purposes. For humanity.”

You hadn’t meant to kiss Peter, you honestly blamed the rush of adrenaline from defeating that asshole, the excitement of this fight being over and that was a lie.

That was a lie because you’ve been dying to kiss Peter ever since you joined the Guardians and so you did.

You kiss Peter Quill.

And he was kissing you back.

Peter was surprised at first but he wasn’t about to push you away, not since he finally recognized his feelings for you thanks to the promise. He had to bend down to kiss you but he didn’t care.

He didn’t care because this felt good, it felt right, it felt like fire works were going off but of course he just had to be a humans and humans did need air to survive.

Breaking the kiss, Peter took in a few deep breaths in as he gave you a rather goofy smile. His head resting against yours, his fingers clutching your hips as he held you close.

“Okay, but I think we should do that again. For research purposes. For humanity.”

Snorting, you gave him a sly smile as you let your finger trail across his cheek. “I think you’re right Star Lord.”

Shuddering, Peter’s eyes darkened for a moment as his lips grazed yours. “I love it when you call me that?”

“What…Star Lord?” You teased but a small yelp escaped your lips as you were heaved over his shoulders. “Where are we going.”

“Back to my room, research purposes. For humanity.” Peter gave your hips a squeeze as you let out a soft laugh.

The recent Marvel content I've consumed — Guardians of the Galaxy Video Game from 2021, and the absolutely MIND-BLOWING, award worthy, beautiful, too-good-to-be-true Across the Spiderverse — have been a firm reminder for me that Marvel spans far beyond the MCU, and as a long time Marvel fan, we DESERVE content like this and not whatever shit poop Kevin Fegie dumps into a toilet bowl.

I've been so conflicted with my love for Marvel ever since Endgame. It's almost embarrassing to associate with the very thing I've loved since childhood, especially as the MCU takes their low bar and keeps setting it lower than before. I literally cringe when I see whatever latest Power Rangers quality content they give their fans. It's humiliating.

But last night I got to see Across the Spiderverse, after replaying the GotG game for the second time. And I've never been more rejuvenated as a Marvel fan from these two entities alone.

The LOVE for the characters, the Grade A writing, the care taken into the content given to us — I feel *loved* as a fan from just these two things. Respected as a fan.

Meanwhile, the MCU keeps shoving down everyone's throat whatever CGI trashfest they can throw together in a blender as fast as possible — with writing that would make chatGPT embarrassed.

Nonono, I'd like to thank Across the Spiderverse and the GotG Game for reminding me the MCU isn't the only representation of Marvel, and Marvel is so much better than the MCU.

I'd love to end this with "do better, MCU" but I gave up on them right after Endgame, disowned them after No Way Home, and have no plans to return to the abuse. But godDAMN I've never felt better being a Marvel fan.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy video game really reveals just how badly planned the MCU was from the start. Why would you not include the Galactic War against Thanos and the Chitauri? Not only is that important context for nearly every single character in GOTG, it’s also what links them to the Avengers on Earth since they had to fight the Chitauri in their first movie. Not to mention it would have been a great way of setting up the upcoming threat of Thanos. But noooooo, James Gunn thought it was way more important to have dumb jokes about Kevin Bacon 🙄

The Guardians of the Galaxy game has pissed me off a lot due to it being on the buggy side. I’ve had to reload from last checkpoint and fight battles again numerous times because I cannot proceed to the next area due to the game thinking I am still in a battle after all the enemies of that area are dead. Several times I have said “ok fuck this game, I’m done” but then kept going.  The story and the characters are a lot of fun and I want to see what happens. This scene made some of the struggle worth it.
