We sometimes flew up the eastern coast of Russia. 🇷🇺 We went into the Sea of Okhotsk, down the west coast of the Kamchatka peninsula around its southern tip and up the east coast to photograph the important naval base at Petropavlovsk. Here MiGs often tried to intercept us, but it was otherwise barren space. Russian fighters were not much of a threat, because they probably didn’t get above 60,000ft. One time we were flying along the east Russian coast and Rich said: ‘Look out the window on the left,’ where he saw a circle of contrails. ‘They’re waiting for us.’ I watched through my viewsight and saw them peel off and climb, one by one, trying to intercept us. I saw them through my viewsight, climb towards us, then fall out of the sky. We weren’t too concerned about missile threats; our electronic jamming equipment was very effective. Air-launched missiles had to be fired at us from the front, not behind. If we turned just 10°, that screwed up the missile’s aim. Lights came on in my cockpit that showed if an aircraft was locked on to us and if it was on the right or left side of the airplane and that our jammers were working. When a SAM [Surface Air Missile] came up I had two lights, ‘M’ and ‘L.’ The M told me that their ground radar was tracking us and the L light that they had launched at us.
The 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing initially operated from the UK on a semi-formal basis, but Mildenhall hosted a permanent detachment (Det. 4) from 1984

Jamming it up in Roller Derby
Had I been in this rink before? If so, it was back in Junior high school in the late 1970s, when roller skating added music, lights, and fun to a teen’s life. If you were lucky, the rink dimmed the overhead lights so strobes and fluorescent lighting illuminated the ground where your quad skates slid across the wooden floor. But today was 2024 and this ole 59’er hadn’t tried roller skating since she was a teen, making this new sport of Roller Derby an interesting prospect. The thing that happens as you approach your sixth decade of life is your center of weight shifts as your weight increases. Sure, I run half marathons, but that’s easy when your feet hit the pavement and nothing is rolling beneath you. I think my last 8-mile run, which took over an hour, was easier than standing on roller skates for one hour. New experiences give you realistic points of view you wouldn’t gain otherwise.
So, there I was, along with one other 50-year-old woman celebrating her birthday by trying roller derby, and twenty 20- and 30-year-olds, prime for the adventure. The women there were fantastic – friendly, some apprehensive like me, some excellent at the sport already, and accepting of all others in the room. No matter your size, age, gender identification, or skill, every woman was welcome, just like rugby. The Central New York Roller Derby organization based in my hometown of Rome, NY was well organized and coached. Their leaders made sure we had the essential equipment on – helmet, elbow pads, mouth guards, wrist guards, knee pads, and quad skates. For $50, you get all the rented equipment plus eight weeks of lessons and activity making it a reasonably priced sport to try. They were patient and helpful with the newbies.
Like every sport, we began with warmups. I particularly liked doing pushups and sit-ups with roller skates on. It added some weight to the exercises. Then it was time to stand up and try gliding on the skates. I say this with the hesitation that’s intended. It takes a while to find your center of gravity and fearlessness to push off, glide, and stop without falling down. Okay, I did fall two times until I figured out to lean forward not back in my stance. Like anything in life, you have to adjust to new centers of balance. Then we got off our skates and learned about the key derby positions of jammers and blockers and did a few activities like getting into positions as blockers to stop the jammers and how to become a pivot blocker if you receive the jammer star/cover when it is handed to you. What I learned only from this small exercise is I need to watch a YouTube video on roller derby to piece it all together so I understand it better the next time I try it. I did this before trying rugby and it helped my comprehension level immediately. Don’t call it necessary due to my age, but rather because I learn best by seeing, and not hearing.
As our two-hour stint came to an end, we gathered for a group photo as buddies who experienced something new and fun for the first time. I vowed to go back next week to try it again since I felt it needed more time to say I tried the sport. I already have a new group of Syracuse roller derby sisters who want to carpool to Rome and a new roller derby name to try out – Pinky Habanero. Every roller derby chick has a nickname. I met Squash, BAM, Dead, Sunshine, Meli, and more. All I can tell you is if you want to feel young again (in some ways) and old (in other ways), try out roller derby at your local skating rink. Put on those four quads, helmet, and find your center of balance, smile, give yourself a badass name, and get into the rink. I promise you’ll smile, laugh at yourself, and even realize you can be humble, and somewhat graceful while trying something new.

Last Mission
Three months ago, U-5282 welcomed a new addition to it’s squad.
It was new combat doll, already with a lot of experience.
This asset had something to it, ever since it interacted with her. She was asking a lot od questions, clearly excited about finally joining in a squad, after operating without one. And it brought it joy to answer.
It really enjoyed talking with her, which was something new for it. It usually avoided getting to know more new dolls joining it’s squad. They didn’t last long. But this one has been proving herself proficient. With each fight, which each word, this unit felt itself growing something inside it’s core.
It couldn’t name it. It was afraid of naming it. It brushed it of, time and time, focusing on her mission, to the point when this unit isolated itself at barracks from everyone. It couldn’t understand. It couldn’t come to terms. It was best to isolate. It was scared
But the other doll still reached out. It still kept contact. It still talked with it from time to time. But it also clearly respected it’s isolation.
Until one mission.
It’s intel was wrong, it got caught in a bad ambush.
It fought as best as it could, but it was surrounded. It dealt heavy casualties on the enemy side, but there were too many of them. There was nothing it could do but try to retreat, calling for backup. But the comms fell silent. No one was listening. This unit was left alone. Or something was jamming it’s communications. After it ran out of ammunition, it grasped it’s sword. But soon, the sword shattered, blocking a guided missile, that it was too late to dodge, making her body get peppered with shrapnel, it’s vision damaged, it’s hud full of glitches.
No one will listen. It will end alone right here.
It wasn’t afraid.
It was it’s mission. Its existence was to fight. Its purpose was to fell one day on the battlefield. It was not afraid.
Trying to communicate with any friendly unit in the proximity, it activated it’s self destruct protocols, setting up the timer for one minute.
But then a voice spoke on the radio.
It was that new asset in it’s squad. It was sent on a recon mission, as the base has lost communication with this unit. She was way outside of the fighting distance. Just close enough to break through the jammers.
Her voice made this unit’s core sing, even under such a bad condition. Even as it came to terms with its final destination.
They made contact. Unit, that was ready to self destruct, that has come to terms with this being it’s final battlefield….
It couldn’t bring itself to do it. The voice told it, it shouldn’t. This voice made it promise she will try her best to retreat. This voice promised her it is not her final battle.
Glitches cleared out. It’s core hummed, pushing itself to the limit. This is not where it lays.
Hours later, it was finally out of the range of enemy’s
radars. It spent so much time running, dodging, it’s fuel has run so low it was hardly holding itself in the air. But it was out of the jammer’s range. Turning on it’s recovery signal, it dove straight towards the ground, crash landing into a lilac field. It was missing it’s leg. One of her arms was dangling on some cables. It’s armour was shattered in many places. Systems were failing one after other. But it was safe. It was out of combat.
It delivered on the promise. That was not a place where it ended.
It’s hud was clear, but slowly loosing power. Laying there, in the ground, not being able to move, it saw something move on the sky.
A beautifully shape, reflecting on the moon, getting bigger and bigger. Its communicator was busted. It rose her arm towards that shape, trying to grasp it.
It couldn’t help itself but smile, as shape got closer and closer. With it’s sight going dark, it has hear the voice again.
It completed it’s mission
It survived

Top Gun: Maverick | Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x Fem!OC
Also published on my Wattpad (-voidheroes)!
Tumblr media
Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell had expected his day to go quite differently. Though, he couldn't say he was surprised to find himself in his superior's office being reprimanded; it had become a regular occurrence over the past thirty years.
Today was simply supposed to be the mach nine test for Darkstar, a program Maverick and his team had been working on for some time now. However, before the test could begin, the team received word that Admiral Cain was on his way to shut the program down. Maverick's heroic nature refused to let that happen, so he did what he did best: break the rules.
He suited up and took off in Darkstar right before Cain's arrival. The official mach nine test was a success, but to keep the program alive, Maverick needed to reach mach ten. And he did. In fact, he exceeded mach ten until he blew it, quite literally. He crashed landed in a nowhere town in the middle of the United States.
On base, Admiral Cain was waiting for Maverick's return, so he could officially ground the captain permanently. Except, a call came in with impeccable timing that would keep Maverick in the air just a little while longer.
Now, Maverick was being reassigned to the North Island or what's better known as Fightertown, U.S.A., the home of Top Gun. Since his graduation in 1986, he had tried his luck as a Top Gun instructor, but he quickly realized he was a pilot, not a teacher. After two months on the job, he quit.
Upon his arrival, the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School was just like Maverick remembered. The halls were decorated the same, but each year new memorabilia was added from the previous graduating class. One wall still held the photo of Iceman and Maverick after their first mission together. Then, behind him, was a photo of U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Maverick stared at the photo of his friend with honor and gratitude. Without him, the Navy would have quit on Maverick years ago.
Maverick was escorted to a room where Admirals Beau "Cyclone" Simpson and Solomon "Warlock" Bates debriefed him on his new purpose at Top Gun. A uranium plant was violating a NATO treaty, and the Navy was tasked with eliminating it.
The mission would be difficult. Satellite imagery showed the enemy had surface-to-air missiles, fifth-generation fighter jets, and GPS jammers. However, looking at the recon before him, Maverick easily devised his plan of attack.
"You misunderstood," Cyclone said after Maverick explained his plan. "We don't want you to fly it. We want you to teach it."
"Teach, sir?"
A handful of the best Top Gun graduates had been selected to be trained for the mission. After the three-week time period was up, Maverick would be forced to choose a team leader. Cyclone and Warlock displayed an array of candidates and Maverick recognized a familiar face, one that haunted him. It was Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, the son of his former RIO, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw.
To this day, Maverick was still guilt-ridden over the incident. He tried to be there for Bradley, tried to be the father he lost. But after delaying Bradley's naval career, the two men stopped seeing eye-to-eye.
"Is there a problem?" Cyclone asked.
"You know there is."
"I want to make you aware of another problem, Maverick," Warlock intervened.
Warlock pulled up the file of a female aviator, "Emerson Raye Blackwood, call sign, Raven."
Maverick stared at the screen before him. It was like seeing a ghost; there was something so terrifyingly familiar about her. "And that is, sir?"
"You need to watch out for her. She's a lot like you, Maverick."
"Dangerous is the word I would use," Cyclone finished.

cell jammer in the hospital, blocking the exits, lights r flickering, mason n corey can't leave without liam and know they can't wait around for help . so they go running to find liam. ummm melissa, scotts mom , finds nolan passed out in his blood and uses a smelling salt to wake him up. she asks if he's ok and he says he thinks so. "who knocked you out? one of my friends or one of yours?" "im not sure i have any friends right now." "im not sure i blame them" LMAOOO MS MCCALL PLEASE. and shes like "can you stand we're gonna need your help." "with what?" "taking back the hospital" so . basically thats theo and liams plot. only gonna focus on that. liam is still hiding in the ICU when the "patient" on the left moves their hand and pulls out a gun from under the mattress. one of them was faking. Nolan didnt know that. liam knew something was up so he moved before they shot . and threw them out the icu. liam was probably ab to go talk to the person he just threw but he looked over and heard guns cocking and 3 hunters including gabe were Right there. ans gabe says "wait. let me do it" RAISING HIS SHOTGUN. WHAT. and liam starts backing up down the hall and gabe says "go ahead liam. run. it'll be more fun that way." sir pls. you are a sophomore in high school. what are u doing. and behind liam is an elevator and before he reaches it , it opens and gabe starts firing and theo pulls him back and away by his neck and the doors close ans liam is like "??what are you doing here" ans theo said "i was just asking myself the same thing." <- what i meant by what he tells liam might indicate that was leaving. the elevator doors at literallt being lit the fuck up so theyre both squished to the side of it. next cut we see that its not being lighted up, and liam is listening to heartbeats outside (i can hear them.) and theos like "still out there?" theyre  like just standing normally in the elevator now. liam nods. and theo steps forward "look im not dying for you" and liam steps forward too bc they always gotta size each other up apparently and is like "im not dying for you either." and then he clicks his tongue and looks away and um theo looks Down. 2 theories on that : looking at his lips, or hearing his heartbeat. theres a rumor that idk if its true that they were supposed to kiss in the elevator but didnt cuz liam's actor didnt want to ig. but anyway that backs up the first theory, and then the other theory is not really based on anything besides it kinda looks like he looking at liam still but further down than his lips and he caught liam's heartbeat skipping, Meaning he was lying. idc either way. and anyway. liam looks away clicks his tongue "tch" and says "but. i will..." and looks back at theo "fight with you." ENTER PROLONGED STARE. and then he realizes hes been staring so he looks down and sighs and says "okay.  lets fight." AND THEY DO!!! bc they work so well together!!!! they literally have the best cheographed fights in teen wolf theyre so in unison, they Get each other. theo leans down and liam rolls over his back to kick a hunter in the face. liam snatches a hunters gun and senses theo coming and crouches down so theo can fly kick his ass. very entertaining watching them throw that last guy together. they turn around bc some of them like werent unconcious and melissa tases them  (she comes around the corner) and while they have their backs turned watching nolan and melissa knock their scraps out, gabe comes frkm behind thiam with a gun and nolan sees and tells them "GET DOWN" AND THEO PUSHES LIAM IN FRONT OF HIM and they run fall to the ground down the hall and theres a clear shot of his shoulder being nicked .  anyway something about thiam ans hospital elevators😭
they're in loveeeee

Split Lands (MSM AU) Info post.
Hello! Welcome to my new side blog for my MSM AU: Split Lands!
My main blog is BirbMonster btw
Anyways, Split Lands is an AU taking place on The Continent.
(TW for war and stuff)
MSM AU (alternate universe) of my headcanons:
So basically my headcanon is that when the Celestials first made the continent, the only monsters to exist were the single-elemental ones, and the other species were created through them mingling.
I have an AU idea where they didn'tmingle, and instead each species argued and seperated, going their own ways and staying mostly on their own lands.
The whole AU exists on the continent, and the statuses of each species arelike this:
Kaynas are a dominant species and dangerous conquerors. Their home base is at the top of the volcano, though they're conquering other lands, expect for the water lands, where they can't go as it's too wet.
Toe Jammers are safe and plentiful in the water lands. A lot of them retreated into the deeper oceans, meaning Epic Toe Jammers evolved a lotearlier and are more common.
The remaining Potbellies use their camouflage to secretly survive. Rare Potbellies born are left behind for the sake of survival.
Tweedles are still rather common, able to escape via flight, though a lot of the airlands are conquered, causing many Tweedles to be enslaved.
Mammotts are a force at war with the Kaynas. They actually stand a chance angaist them, and also have high ground and good technology. The conflict between them is known as the War of Flames and Ice.
(Apologies for any grammar mistakes in this. I wrote the original several weeks ago while sleep deprived)
Next post will have the protagonists of this :)

Bansui has a long history as an inventor within the Soul Society, even if some of his inventions / creations aren't widely used outside of the Kido Corps or the nobility. A few of these inventions are as follows....
KIDO GUN
A firearm-like contraption (resembling a Bolt-Action rifle), as the name implies, that discharges Kido spells in the direction it’s aimed. It is an extraordinary weapon that can be used by just about anyone,  provided they possesses enough Reiryoku to power the spells unleashed by the weapon-- even someone who has never cast a Kido spell in their entire life can use the Kido Gun to unleash spells of any classification (up to #50) without the need for incantations and with near perfect results (misfires can happen and they aren't pretty) to boot.
The Kido Gun can be personalized with up to seven chosen spells that can be switched between on the fly via a bolt-mechanism on it’s side, with the Kido Gun itself being powered through a link that is created between it and it’s user upon touch, drawing upon the user’s Reiryoku when unleashing a chosen spell.
After developing the Kido Gun, Ban pitched it to the Gotei 13, Onmitsukido, and Central 46 to be used as a ‘sidearm’ of sorts to be used alongside Zanpakuto, and to bolster the usage of Kido in general among Shinigami or other military minded Souls within the Soul Society, even for those individuals who struggled to use Kido on their own. This idea was shot down by the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukido, however, with various members of both military branches worried that the Kido Gun would make it’s users lazy and unwilling to hone or expand upon their own baser Kido abilities.
Central 46 concurred with the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukido’s concerns, but allowed Ban to use the Kido Gun within the Kido Corps itself if he so wished, which he did-- and to this day, every member of the Kido Corps carries one of these weapons, though they do not see much use outside of special situations and newer, more inexperienced members of the Kido Corps.
Ban keeps one of these weapons on his person at all times, too, not truly having a use for it given his skill in Kido but finding it ‘fun’ to use on occasion when he wants to toy with an enemy.
MAHŌSHIHAKUSHŌ
A lesser, though effective version of the specialized outfit Bansui himself wears, it is a series of garments that make up the Kido Corps uniform. The name of these garments might lead one to assume they are related to to the Shihakusho worn by Shinigami, but the process involved in weaving them and their styling altogether are vastly different.
The fabric of these garments are crafted in such a way that allows numerous Kido to be woven into them, making it so that wearers can imbue the fabric with Barrier Kido, turning their garments in lightweight but effective armor.
Like some of Bansui's other inventions, he tried to market these garments to the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukido, but neither was interested. Some individuals in the nobility, on the other hand, were happy to acquire some of these special garments, and to this day, the Kido Corps makes a small fortune selling them to the nobility
ANYWHERE STRUCTURES
A series of cuboid and spherical objects that, when thrown onto the ground, immediately expand into ready made, furnished buildings that can be occupied for various purposes. Bansui and the Kido Corps often use these to establish camps or forward bases in places like Hueco Mundo, the Valley(s) of Screams, or the World of the Living, and Post Blood War, these structures are gaining popularity among the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukido, as well
REIRYOKU JAMMER
A throw-able device that can disrupt the flow of a target’s spiritual energy when attached to their body, causing the target in question to have more difficulties in using their Reiryoku-related abilities. The device will have more of an effect the weaker an targets is, but even Captain-level and above targets will experience some disruption to the flow of their spiritual energy-- this can be stopped by simply tearing the device out of course, but its a painful endeavor given how the device implants itself in one’s flesh.
KIDO AMPLIFIER
A special wristband that both increases the distance a Kido users spells will be effective and reduces the amount of Reiryoku required to cast said spells. Every member of the Kido Corps receives one of these wristbands, and Ban always keeps one handy for himself.
This is another tool that Bansui tried to see adopted by the Soul Society's other military branches, but it was also widely rejected by the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukido over cost concerns-- it is an expensive piece of equipment to make, and neither group was willing to pay for large scale production. It was rumoured that the Twelfth Division of the Gotei 13 had begun working on a similar device of their own, but nothing has ever surfaced.
CERO BAND
A choker-like band worn around the neck that allows those with Hollow abilities (Arrancar, Vizard, baser Hollow’s, etc) to fine tune their Cero’s on the fly-- a user can make their Cero wider in exchange for reduced range, more beam-like and precise in exchange for breadth, increase its range in exchange for power, and so on and so forth. This is an invention Bansui naturally hasn't revealed to many within the Soul Society, due to the implications it might bring, though it is worn by some of his closer, and altered (Hollowfied), subordinates.
KIDO SCROLLS
Scrolls that come with Kido spells “prepared” and woven into them, that can be activated upon unraveling the scroll. Due to their size, only a few of them can be carried on one’s person, bu Ban always keeps a few handy for situations where he may somehow be cut off from casting his own Kido.
HOLLOW CUBE
A small cuboid device that, when split in half, draws large amounts of baser Hollows (Gillian, Adjuchas) to the user’s general location. The device is packed with a mixture of specialized Kido energy and sensory components that act as irresistible bait to lesser Hollows, making them think a given area is packed with high quality Souls for them to devour, and then once they are in that given area, a specialized chemical is released that enhances their abilities and drives them into a killing frenzy.
KIDO CANON
Nicknamed 'Hell's Gaze' by those within the Kido Corps, it is a massive, canon-like contraption powered by specialized Kido. It consists of a crystalline focus point attached to the top of a massive pole, with several smaller crystal structures circling up towards the main one, and it is capable of creating an energy blast that can level / engulf large areas. There are three of these contraptions mounted along the walls of the Kido Palace, and two along the outer wall of the Seireitei, where they act as fearsome defensive tools.
SPIRIT SCRAMBLER
Similar in function to the Reiatsu-concealing cloak created by Urahra Kisuke, it is a device Ban invented long ago to conceal the Reiryoku and Reiatsu related to his Hollow-like nature. The device filters out the user's true Reiatsu and Reiryoku signatures and projects whatever it is they wish the outside world to see. Bansui always carries on on his person for obvious reasons, and has given a few to some of his subordinates who he has bestowed Hollow powers upon.
DECOMPOSITION VIRUS
A nano-like virus that is part Kido and part biological, it is stored in spherical explosive devices that are thrown at targets, and infects a target through their Reiatsu vents, where it proceeds to decompose the essence of their Soul. Once a target’s Soul is decomposed enough, they are put through a phenomena akin to the Soul Suicide effect seen in Hollowfication, spelling the target’s end.
Individuals with stronger spiritual power can stave off the virus’s effects for longer, but without some kind of outside intervention, it is a death sentence.
Officially, Bansui was ordered to cease further production of this virus by Central 46, but unofficially, he keeps a stockpile of it for use by the Kido Corps, and himself, along with medicines that can halt the viruses effects. Bansui has theorized about one day changing its function, to induce Hollowfication on a mass scale, but research into this has been difficult…
TERROR TOXIN
A powerful drug that induces nightmarish hallucinations in the minds of those it is administered to. Once the drug has touched the surface of a victim's skin and seeps into their bloodstream, they lose all perception of the world around them and begin to witness lifelike visions of their worst fears.
While in this fearful state, a victim can be left to their own devices to suffer for the duration of the drug's effects, or their state can be further antagonized by interacting with them and playing into their budding trauma. A victim of this drug can also simply be cut down and slain quite easily, since they will usually be too wrapped up in their hallucinations to properly defend themselves.
Bansui, through multiple instances of testing, has found that the best ways to utilize the drug is to coat one's blade with it and strike at targets, or, as he prefers to do, mix it in with offensive Kido spells he intends to pummel enemies with.
This drug is powerful, however its effectiveness will vary when used on individuals who possess particularly strong willpower. The drug's effects can also be reversed by the use of Kaido, and seeing as Bansui has also developed a 'cure' for the drug in the event it's turned on him, it stands to reason that someone smart enough could create a cure of their own, too.

When is bigoot avatar releade
Jammer, our wonderful and joyous Bigfoot has always been here with us. To purchase your very own bigfoot avatar, please follow the steps below!
To launch this hidden feature, you have to be in your den by yourself and you have to have the “Switch Animal” option open. You have to click on the last “Make A New Animal” tab, then close out of it and repeat. If you repeat these actions with great abundance for an acceptable amount of time you will eventually obtain the hidden option of a brand new animal. The animal, as you would’ve guessed by now, is bigfoot.
Bigfoot is described as a brown color with a tan face. He has a towering height and default pitch black eyes. Unlike the other animals, this one wears a pair of high top sneakers on his bigfeet which are said to vary in color between users. The background around him shows him in a thick wooded mountain range. You will also notice that there is no “choose animal” icon for bigfoot so if you consider choosing a different animal, know that it’ll be very hard to select bigfoot again. This animal is known among the Jammers who have been through this as Large Grandfoot. This is because when you go to the naming process, the name is set and no matter how much you try to change it by pressing on those arrows, it will always be “Large Grandfoot”.
By this time, you will be hesitant on creating this animal. There will be that feeling in your gut that something is not right, that “don’t do it” feeling. Despite your instincts, your curiosity will get the best of you and you will bring this animal back into existence. When you switch to Large, you will notice that he looks just like any other common animal. His actions and walk cycle are considered what you’d expect from an Animal Jam bigfoot. There is one problem that you might notice with the character though. When you go to customize him, you will be unable to make any changes to his default design and the only item you can add onto it are the high top sneakers that will be given to you when you create Large. The sneakers will be the same color as the one you saw in the picture.
If you decide to switch out into another animal or log out, Large will simply disappear from your list of animals without a trace and the experience will be over. If a friend comes in, they will not see bigfoot and will instead see the animal you were playing as last time. If you decide to continue, you are allowed to leave your den and explore Jamaa. Just be warned, after you leave your den no one will be allowed to follow you.
As you click on the globe/map, you will automatically be teleported to Jamaa Township. When you arrive, the first thing you will notice is the scenery of the place. It will be similar to the weather outside your home, dark and quiet. There will be no one there except for you in the uncharted server known as The Ashlands. The doors to the buildings will be caved in as the buildings themselves are overgrown and decaying. The feeling of abandonment will set in and you will feel your hands sweat as you start to move Large. The ground will be covered in a thick layer of plant-growth and there will be no music playing. The only audio available will be the sound of the creaking woods and the crunching of pine needles as you move Large around to observe the area.
You will be unable to go to any other place besides Sarepia Forest and the Adventure Base Camp. As you arrive to Sarepia Forest, the trees become denser and you will find yourself in a maze of vines as you notice that the screen is hardly visible. You might eventually see Large in the plant-growth, and will notice that when you move him, he will only be able to walk slowly. At this point in time, you might decide “Hey, I’m going to try to change animals”, frantically opening up the “switch animal” option only to discover that all your animals are gone and the option to create new ones are blocked off. You are stuck as Large for the remainder of the experience. As you explore, you’ll note that the Sarepia Theater has been torn down, bricks and rotting fabric scattered across the zone.
Nothing is really different at the Adventure Base Camp, except that all the portals will be broken down and will cease to work. You cannot access any of the other adventures during this time but there will also be a new sign near the deteriorated remains of “Return of the Phantoms” that will lead to a new adventure. Allegedly, the adventure is called "The Great Darkness", and when you get there, the weather will be the same as it was in Jamaa Township. You will be on a path in the woods that leads to a cold mountainous area that you must explore.
As you make your way down the path, you will notice a small collection of abandoned items dispersed in the undergrowth. They are worn down and tattered to the point where you will barely recognize what the items were. As you continue down the path, the feeling of anxiousness only gets worse as you as if something’s creeping up on you, ready to pounce you at any moment with its dark intentions. You might shudder at the thought of being observed like some kind of mouse being hunted by a sly predator. At this point you will also acknowledge that Large’s health is slowly declining due to the weather, giving you the dark impression that he will succumb to the dark and cold soon if you don’t do something.
A chill will go down your spine as you get to the trail that ascends up the mountainous region; your hands will start to shake at the anticipation. Something’s up there and you can feel it, but there’s no other way around unless you want to quit. Some of the Jammers that have played this far usually stop when they reach this point, saying that they could no longer bear the aura that they were receiving from the game. The Jammers that have continued gave a more detailed description of the ridge. If you decide to go up the trail, despite your fear, then that you will soon pass a dark, eerie cave. The cave cannot be entered at the moment so there’s no other option then to go up to the top. Snow will start to fall once you exit the trees, and at this moment if you manage to make it up to the top, you will come across some sort of overcast clearing.
The worn down items are said to be abundant here and there are many stones of different sizes that are covered in the blizzard’s tears. Approaching them will result in the paw button popping up. If you click on the buttons the snow will be brushed to the side revealing their true intentions. From what people have said, they are suspected to be the tombstones of Jammers who have been permanently banned.
The tombstones, however, are not the most unnerving aspect of the place. Supposedly, Jammers have gotten more intimidated by the statues surrounding the area, and for good reason. The statues are in the forms of all the animals available in Jamaa. They are described as a solid blue color, similar to how you can roll in Appondale’s mud and go to a snow fort or the penguin party to turn blue. Jammers have specified that the bizarre statues are laid out in an almost complete circle around the graveyard and give off the most awful sensations of unease. There is a portal in the middle of the graveyard that is assumed to be the exit, but it has also collapsed and some of the parts are missing; leaving you to believe that there is no exit out of the gloomy world.
There is nothing else to really do up at the clearing and you are allowed to go back down the trail. This is when Jammers are allowed to enter the cave and it has been concluded that there are many different endings to the adventure. The theory is that the high top sneakers that you obtained at the beginning depicts what will happen to Large. Some of them remain shrouded in mystery so some of the information may be inaccurate.
The black and red sneakers are seen as one of the creepiest ending because it results in Large going deep into the cave. As you descend into the cave, it gets pitch black and you hear faint whispering behind you. You will hear the sound of Large supposedly being knocked out or killed, this being implied when all his hearts go out at once due to the sound. It is then followed by a slow dragging noise. Jammers have said that they felt a dreadful presence outside their house when the dragging started and felt like they were being watched. About a minute in, the dragging stops and the screen goes back to the clearing where you’ll see the statue of Bigfoot, completing the circle. The sneakers are tied to the branch of a tree and are blowing in the wind. The adventure apparently ends here. Many Jammers have said that the eerie presence outside their house continued for the remainder of the night after playing the adventure.
The gray sneakers adventure results in going back to the clearing to search around more for an exit. Eventually, you will find a hidden trail and go down it, leading to another forest. When you go into the forest you will hear something following you, branches around you will make a snapping sound off-screen and will get a feeling of dread as you make your way down the road. After about five minutes of being bombarded with ominous sounds, you will eventually reach a secret portal where the adventure ends and you will get a prize. Everyone that has played the part of the gray sneakers so far have said that they’ve gotten a rare or beta for a prize. Jammers reported that they heard creepy noises around their homes after playing the adventure and felt like something was trying to get in.
The black and gold sneakers puts Large in the position of a mini-adventure where the broken down portal is clickable. You will get a message telling you to find the remaining parts of the broken portal in a certain amount of time. Various parts can be found around the map and you are required to search every area that is available to you. It is advised to go back to the beginning to start collecting and check the cave out later. The parts appear to be hidden in random places around the map every time the adventure is played so check carefully. Large’s health will also decline slowly in the amount of time you have. When you start searching the cave, be very careful. Unlike the black and red adventure, you will obtain a torch when you reach the cave but it is crawling with what are said to be phantoms that will chased you relentlessly inside and outside of the cave. If you lose your health to the phantoms or run out of time, which is when Large’s health will be gone, the screen will darken and you’ll hear a heavy breathing coming from within your home that will follow you all around the house. Nothing has been seen yet but you should try to complete the adventure to the best of your abilities or you might hear it the whole night through. If you do manage to fix the portal, the adventure will be completed, you’ll get a prize and will seemingly be okay for the remainder of the night.
The pink sneakers have weird results. You will try to find a way out but will be given no options. After searching for a bit, Jammers have exclaimed how the game gets glitchy, which led to the belief that the pink version was never truly finished. Everything starts to become distorted and will begin to disappear. Even Large will start to become invisible and parts of his body will start to disappear. You will be allowed to go out of the adventure’s boundaries, only to be greeted by many colored glitch patches. The game will usually crash or freeze, causing you to refresh or exit out of the page. Jammers have noted that it is usually easier to do glitches in the game after this has happened.
The purple sneakers adventure is similar to the black and hold sneakers sneakers adventure, except that one must deal with the graveyard instead. When you click on one of the tombstones a second time it will give you information about the about the banned Jammer, such as their user and random accessories that belonged to them. You must retrieve these items by searching for them in the snow within twelve minutes. None of the Jammers that have been spoken to manage to complete this quest and explain that when time runs out. Large’s health will simply vanish and he will drop into the sleeping action as they are kicked out of the adventure. It is rumored, however, that this might be a way to un-ban someone’s account.
The cyan sneakers relates to discovering a bridge around the clearing that is assumed to lead to the bottom of the cliff though nobody has completely made it through the whole bridge. As Jammers have made their way down the bridge they were overwhelmed by anxiety and would start to sweat because the bridge looked ragged and old. The bridge will apparently break at any random moment one is on it but the results are different. If you haven’t made it halfway through when it breaks you will be exited out of the adventure. If it breaks when you’re almost to the bottom you will find a portal and treasure chest with a prize inside and you can leave. If you’re halfway through, it is depicted on how much health Large has left. Jammers have said that upon going to sleep they would have nightmares of falling from heights regardless of how it ended.
There is little information about the white sneakers, except that it has to deal with finding another hidden path to an area with a seemingly frozen pond. Jammers have exclaimed that the temperature in their homes drop dramatically during this version of the adventure and remain that way for the rest of the night. Jammers have also said that they were finding extremely cold wet spots on their floors and carpets. It is almost unknown what the red sneakers do because the Jammers who’ve had the red sneakers don’t want to talk about the experience. It is supposedly the most scary and gruesome out of all of the endings and some of them even stopped playing the game afterward. They have advised that if you get the red sneakers to not continue playing as Large at all and to abort the game or to refresh the page.
It doesn’t matter what high top sneakers you got and when you finish the adventure, the game will go back to normal. You will appear in your den or in a populated Jamaa township as the animal you were playing as before Large. All of your animals will return but Largewill be nowhere in sight. If you were rewarded with a prize you get to keep it, but the high top sneakers will be gone. Though the game goes back to normal, keep in mind the after effects it can have on you and your account.

What about a huge breakthrough in energy technology on levels that make lithium ion batteries look like a foot powered mill that allows for retrothrusters/turbines to offset weight and mechs/titans are used for urban combat where they can move over uneven terrain much easier? Maybe not general frontline combat but for breaching and hunter/killer roles that stay mobile and can be equipped with different loadouts like gundams (IE giant shield and 40mm cannon for infantry support, ATGMs or even electronic warfare jammers or even "mini" guns)
I mean really, that’s the only reason why’d you want to use mechs is to handle urban combat but you’d still want them to be durable enough to not be taken out by foot based anti armor. Even if they have good mobility it doesn’t mean anything if they’re being taken out by rpgs and the like. The other route is to make them ridiculous fast, almost like a ground based jet fighter. If you’ve played Armored Core or it’s spiritual successor Daemon X Machina that’s the kind of speed I’m talking about, where the only good answer is another mech capable of keeping up.
Otherwise mechs are going to remain a fictional concept. All the tech breakthroughs in the world won’t mean much if there’s no role for them, and even then, only if it would be better than equipping more conventional forces with said technology.

Anti-Drone Guns: Countering Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
Anti-Drone Guns: Countering Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, have become increasingly prevalent in both civilian and military contexts. While drones offer numerous benefits, they also pose security risks when misused. To address this challenge, various anti-drone technologies have been developed to detect, access, and engage with enemy drones. Among these countermeasures are anti-drone guns—devices designed to either destroy or immobilize target drones.Get more news about Anti Drone Gun,you can vist our website!
Types of Anti-Drone Guns Handheld Anti-Drone Weapons: These are portable devices similar to traditional projectile guns. They can disrupt drone operations by interfering with their communication signals or physically damaging them. Examples include radio jammers, zappers, and handheld firearms specifically designed for countering drones. Artillery-Scale Anti-Drone Systems: These larger devices are capable of engaging drones at longer ranges. They may use projectiles, directed energy, or other methods to neutralize UAV threats. Some artillery-scale systems integrate radar tracking and precision targeting. Smart Missiles: These advanced munitions are specifically designed to target and destroy drones. They use sophisticated guidance systems to track and intercept UAVs. Smart missiles can be launched from ground-based platforms or aircraft. Approved Anti-Drone Systems The U.S. military and other organizations have authorized several anti-drone systems for deployment. These systems fall into three main categories:
Fixed and Semi-Fixed Systems: The Army’s Fixed Site-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS) is an approved structure within this category. Other services, such as the Navy and Air Force, have also selected their preferred systems. Mobile Mounted Systems: These systems can be deployed rapidly and provide flexibility in countering drone threats. Coordination across the Joint Force ensures future upgrades and contracting for these systems. Handheld Dismounted Systems: Portable anti-drone weapons used by ground troops for close-range engagements. These systems enhance the safety of military personnel and critical infrastructure. Conclusion As drone technology continues to evolve, so do the countermeasures designed to protect against their misuse. Anti-drone guns play a crucial role in safeguarding military bases, critical infrastructure, and public spaces from unauthorized UAVs. By integrating these systems into existing networks, we can effectively address the growing challenge posed by adversary drones.

USAF U-2 Avionics Technician tells why S-300 and S-400 SAMs would not be able to shoot down the SR-71 Blackbird
The SR-71 Blackbird
The SR-71 spy plane, the most advanced member of the Blackbird family that included the A-12 and YF-12, was designed by a team of Lockheed personnel led by Clarence “Kelly” Johnson, then vice president of Lockheed’s Advanced Development Company Projects, commonly known as the “Skunk Works” and now a part of Lockheed Martin. The Blackbird completed its first flight on Dec. 22, 1964.

CLICK HERE to see The Aviation Geek Club contributor Linda Sheffield’s T-shirt designs! Linda has a personal relationship with the SR-71 because her father Butch Sheffield flew the Blackbird from test flight in 1965 until 1973. Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.
The SR-71 was designed to cruise at “Mach 3+,” just over three times the speed of sound or more than 2,200 miles per hour and at altitudes up to 85,000 feet.
During its 24 years of service, the SR-71 Blackbird gathered intelligence in some of the world’s most hostile environments. The Blackbird evaded all the missiles fired at it and, to this day, remains the only USAF aircraft to never lose a crewmember associated with it; whether in the air or on the ground.
But could the SR-71 be shot down by missile systems such as Russia’s S-300 or S-400?
SR-71 Blackbird Vs S-300 Vs S-400
But could the SR-71 be shot down by missile systems such as Russia’s S-300 or S-400?
‘Looks like I’m going to give the only “no” answer so far,’ Damien Leimbach, former USAF Avionics Technician on U-2 aircraft, says on Quora.
‘The S-200, S-300 and S-400 are amazing platforms, and given their stated performance, the 300 and 400 could probably hit a target at the Sr-71’s speed and altitude. But that is not the same as hitting an SR-71.
‘Now, could those missiles shoot down the version of the SR-71 that existed in the 70’s or 80’s? Sure.

S-400 SAM

‘But the question was could it shoot down the SR-71 if it were still in service, and if it were still in service, it would have received the same jamming and Electronic Warfare upgrades as other planes have.
‘Would these EW jammer upgrades make the plane immune from those missiles? Yes it would.
‘How do I know? Well, because I spent 6 years, recently, working on the sibling of the SR-71, the U-2 and as an electronics specialist I was directly responsible for installing and maintaining the AN-ALQ 221 jammer that made our high flying (but slow moving) plane immune to those missiles as well.
‘The U-2 and the SR-71 don’t just take pictures. They listen to cell phones. They monitor radios. And they also listen to, record and analyze the frequencies, pulse rates, variable modes and power outputs of enemy SAM systems like the S-200, 300 and 400.’
Knowing everything about S-300 and S-400
He continues;
‘We know everything about them. We know how they work, so it’s very easy to design systems to defeat them. The -300 is 1970’s Russian technology, which makes it about as sophisticated from an electronics standpoint as 1950’s American tech. The 400 is just an upgraded version of that. But we’ve had a long time to study them and build electronic countermeasures.
‘When the Berlin wall fell in 1989, and East and West Germany reunified, the very first thing NATO did was go in and scoop up all the Russian military tech it could find. We got T-80’s, We got Fulcrums and we got entire missile battalions worth of S-300 missiles.

‘When other very poor nations like Belarus and Moldova split away from the USSR, we bought other stuff, like Flankers, Hinds, and more missile systems.
‘Only Russia, China and India operate the -400, but as much as they want access to American markets, I’m more than sure we’ve been allowed to peek at the equipment, and a missile or two may have fallen off a truck somewhere.
S-300 and S-400 could not shoot down the SR-71 Blackbird
‘Maybe its cheating a little, but buying out the competition is the American way. The point is, we know exactly what their missile systems can do and we’ve known for a long time. We build those upgrades into the U-2 and if we still flew the SR-71, we would build them into it as well.’
Leimbach concludes;
‘So, no, if modern weapons can’t even take down the U-2, they could not shoot down the SR-71.’

The electronic system segment is expected to capture ~52% of market share in 2028. Electronic systems use radar, sensor, infrared, and GPS technologies to transfer electromagnetic signals to navigate and track the direction and speed of drones. These systems capitalize on a diverse range of state-of-the-art technologies to effectively detect, trace, identify, and mitigate drone threats. Radar systems are utilized to precisely locate drones and monitor their movements in real-time. Concurrently, radio frequency (RF) detection and jamming technologies disrupt communication links between drones and operators, compelling drones to return to base.
By application: detection and disruption application to account for the largest market share in the forecasted year.
The detection and disruption segment accounted for the largest share of ~80% of the anti-drone market, by application, in 2028. Detection and disruption systems work in two stages. In the first stage, the system, with the help of sensors or radars, detects drones, and in the second stage, with the help of an RF jammer or a laser beam, the unauthorized drones are disrupted. This application works towards developing systems that integrate diverse technologies and strategies to not only identify potential threats posed by drones but also neutralize them. Detection methods encompass radar and radio frequency (RF) sensors, which provide information about drone location and communication emissions. Acoustic and optical sensors detect drone sounds and visuals, aiding in real-time tracking. Infrared and thermal sensors pick up heat signatures even in low-light conditions, while LiDAR creates 3D maps for identifying low-altitude drones.

By platform type: ground-based segment to account for the largest market share in the forecasted year.
The ground-based segment accounted for the largest market share in 2028. A ground-based system tailored for countering drones is a specialized solution crafted to identify, trace, and neutralize unauthorized or potentially harmful drone operations. One variation of this system utilizes Radio Frequency (RF) Jammers, emitting robust signals on the drone’s control frequency to disrupt its communication link with the operator. Another variant relies on Radar Systems, harnessing radio waves to spot and monitor drones, offering crucial data about their altitude, velocity, and flight path. Equipped with cameras and optical sensors, Optical Systems visually spot drones by scrutinizing their dimensions, configuration, and motion characteristics.
By vertical: military and defense to account for a larger market share in the forecasted year.
The military and defense vertical are expected to capture ~68% of market share in 2028. UAVs or drones have become an integral part of military and defense operations. Developed countries such as the US and the UK have armed drones in possession, which are used to carry out airstrikes during the war. Presently, countries are also giving importance to adopting counter-drone measures to monitor terrorist activities, which would boost the demand for anti-drone systems in the near future.
Americas is expected to hold the largest share of the anti-drone market during the forecast period.
Americas held the largest share in the anti-drone market in 2028.  The Americas is a major contributor to the growth of the anti-drone market. The Americas is a home to a number of critical infrastructure assets, such as airports, power grids, and government facilities. These assets are increasingly being targeted by drones, both for malicious purposes and for espionage. In such instances anti-drone systems can help to protect these assets from attack.
Also, in 2022, AeroVironment, Inc. (US) received a USD 20 million contract from the US Department of Defense Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to provide Puma™ 3 AE small, unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), initial spares packages, and training to two allied nations.

“I see the danger, It’s written there in your eyes.”
Day No: 4
Prompt:n cattle prod
Fandom: Murdoch Mysteries
Medium: fic
Trigger Warnings: none
SFW
Ogden had a thrum of excitement and fear as she sneaked around the office building. Murdoch and her had entered the building, eerily deserted as they tried to find a person that was wanted in connection with a murder. Neither of their phones worked, which pointed to an illegal mobile jammer somewhere in the building. They had made way to go back outside and wait for backup from Crabtree and Higgins. Except the door had locked behind them, electronically as well.
Unsure on whether it was a trap, or a security function, the two decided to go further into the building. There had to be a person, or some sort of communication outside that they could find and figure out what was going on. Having gone through the first floor, and then the second, the third floor caused a bit of a problem. Searching two different rooms, the doors had latched behind them. And each produced a set of stairs. Hers went back down. Murdoch’s went up. Once they realized they wouldn’t be able to get back together, they went forward, being cut off from each other.
Admittedly, this felt like those cheesy spy films she watched late night while nursing Llewellyn. She still watched them when he started sleeping through the night, and then when she was cursed with writer’s block. The main character walking through an evil boss’s base trying to find the MacGuffin before it can destroy a nation or take over the world.
A lot funner than the stuff around Terrance Meyers and what happened in their last lives. And that blasted Allen Clegg. Thank someone that they haven’t come back to haunt them yet. She knows that Clegg will attack her family this time. Meyers might threaten them as well.
She heard new noises, coming down to this area. She was back on the second floor, she figured, but this was an area cut off from them this time. They had been seeing normal offices and cubicles. This was a much more threatening area. Industrial, it appeared to be the inner workings of the building. Water pipes and heating vents. She kept going, carefully looking around corners and making sure her footsteps weren’t echoing loudly. Thankfully, she switched shoes. Instead of the heels that she normally wore, it was running shoes thanks to joining William in the morning. She hadn’t switched before going with him.
The end of the corridor led back up and she shook her head before going back up to floor three. This time, she didn’t end up in the offices, but behind the scenes. Continuing forward, she wondered if it would also led up, and eventually she could find a door to rejoin Murdoch.
She had not noticed the item coming at her, had not noticed the person that quickly appeared at her left before something was shoved into her ribs. Something blasted through her body and she screamed in pain before dropping to the ground.
*Oh, bloody hell, that hurt worse than slipping on black ice and crashing to the ground during a Toronto February blizzard.*
Unable to move away, the item came down again and she barely saw before it was placed against the opposite side and triggered. It might have been the same amount of time. Might have been less or more. She couldn’t tell. Just let out another pain filled wail before her body registered that it had stopped.
After the pain managed to leave a tiny bit away from her mind, she noticed that the person was holding a long stick with two metal pieces at the end. *Prod, oh that was a cattle prod. Fucking bastard, I’m still feeling the shocks.* The person holding it was wearing a mask and covered well enough that she can’t tell who it is.
The thing came down at her again.
“Oh, don’t you-” she tried, before a third time caused her to scream in agony. Ogden finally fell unconscious when her body couldn’t handle it any more.

A portable US weapon that would temporarily jam Chinese and Russian communications satellites early in a conflict is running two years late for its first deliveries.
The first of a potential 30 of the Meadowlands systems produced by L3 Harris Technologies Inc. was originally to be delivered in 2022 but now is expected by October 2024, according to US Space Force officials.
Problems encountered during testing “have been resolved, and the program is moving into its final integration and test phases,” the Space Systems Command said in a statement to Bloomberg News. It said “the technical issues were due to unexpected challenges that required complex reworks of subassemblies.”
Charles Clarkson, L3 Harris general manager for space superiority, said the company worked with the command to increase testing to ensure the jammer “will have more robust operational execution and reduced risk.”
Disclosure of the Meadowlands delay provides a rare glimpse into the highly classified world of US “counterspace” capabilities against Chinese and Russian satellites. US military officials have been loath to discuss those capabilities even as they detail the array of offensive Chinese and Russian ground and space-based capabilities that they say would target US satellites in celestial combat.
