#Great Disk Matoran

Plot bunny: A story that explores Teridax's POV as he chooses the later Toa Metru to destroy Mata Nui's plan of saving Metru Nui's matoran.
He doesn't realize that Mata Nui put a false message in the stars. Neither does he realize that he's subtly manipulating him to steer Lhikan to his actual Chosen: the Toa Metru.
Signs of this manipulation appear in Teridax's narrative but nothing he acknowledges. He's certain that he'd never be fooled- certainly not by Mata Nui whom he's made sick. He is the manipulator; never the manipulated. Or so he thinks.
He misses many cues that something is strange because he believes he's in control. He focuses on what he's heard about the Toa Metru's supposed flaws. They give a strong enough impression that it makes sense for him to think that they'll fail.
It never occurs to him to research deeper into his pawns.
Or sabotage the great disk matoran.
Or to follow his thoughts that it's surprising that he found six 'false toa' for Lhikan so quickly.
The dramatic irony has to metaphorically drip from the words.
Bonus / Sequel idea: Teridax shifts from glee about foiling Mata Nui's plans, to confusion, to mounting rage as the Toa Metru act so unpredictably that they destroy several of his plans.

If Teridax had accepted the Toa Metru when they presented the Great Disks, instead of discrediting them as imposters, his life would have been so much easier
Esp if under the guise of Turaga Dume he had convinced the Toa to help in small, subtle steps that seemed logical at first ("metru nui is too dangerous atm for matoran, they need to be gathered together" "toa lhikan was seen in this place, go eradicate the threats to find him") that are all individual pieces of his plot
Basically, you could have ended up with this situation:

The Toa Metru compared with the Toa Nuva are an interesting example of how a character’s alignment of lawful to chaotic good morality is dependent on context and circumstance.
As Matoran, we are given the impression that the Metru were all fairly law-abiding citizens for the most part. They didn’t have the same chips on their shoulders as the Great Disk Matoran (with the possible exception of Onewa). They were not universally liked, but at least garnered a decent amount of respect from their colleagues. None of them particularly like the Vahki, but they tend to view them as a necessity to keep the peace.
None of them had the inherent drive or the right life experience to make them say “hey actually, screw all this, this whole system needs to be overturned”- which is the attitude of a Chaotic Good.
But then, the story casts them in the role of chaotic good, regardless of their individual personality traits, when they see the system turn against them- “Turaga Dume” brands them as outlaws, and they find themselves running from the law and disrupting the “peace” rather than upholding it.
By contrast, the Toa Mata/Nuva are cast in the role of Lawful Good, regardless of individual opinions or temperaments. They are told by the Turaga, “This is Who You Are, and This Is What You Do,” and for the most part, they do it. They follow their destiny, they play by the “rules” that were laid out.
There’s even the case to be made that 01-03 and 04-05 are fundamentally different genres of story- a mythology inspired fantasy and a dystopian cyberpunk story, respectively, and those stories inherently frame their protagonists differently. Then you’ve got the Dark Mirror universe, which instead places the Toa Mata in the cyberpunk dystopia, where most of them are now functionally Lawful Evil, with the exception of Pohatu, who is now very much a Chaotic Good.
I know Greg disliked reducing characters to simple alignment archetypes, and I can see why. Framing it as an inherent personality trait without acknowledging how circumstances and narrative framing affect the characters’ behaviour ( and our perception of them) is flawed. But I think there’s some interesting conversations to be had about how the lawful-chaotic arm of the morality spectrum is presented in Bionicle.

There's something I think Bionicle fans might be sleeping on:
A swap between Takua and Vakama, more specifically if Takua became a Toa during the Metru-Nui story. It complicates A LOT, but just imagine it:
Toa Lhikan goes to give the toa stone and map to Vakama, COMPLETELY certain on choosing Vakama, but a chase throws a wrench in the works and the stone and map end up in Takua's hands instead. Lhikan ultimately tracks him down and tells him that what he has is SUPER important and isn't even supposed to go to him. Takua is even more cinfused, but no time to talk because the dark hunters arrive and attack, though while Takua hides the stone and map on his person, he's still used as a hostage, which ultimately gets Lhikan captured, despite Takua's protests. Maybe Takua would try to fight or try to help Lhikan get away, but the result is the same.
Later, after more hiding and some Jaller being suspicious, Takua goes to the Great Temple and meets the other Matoran who were given Toa stones, and they all become Toa, though rather than becoming a Toa of Light, Takua gets some gold as he transforms, like maybe along his arms, legs, torso, and maybe has golden hands and feet. It confuses the other Toa, but they also ask where Lhikan is because Takua saw him last. Takua would be more defensive, saying he tried to help, but he ultimately couldn't do anything because the dark hunters were too strong.
Nokama breaks up the bickering and the team are stuck trying to figure out how to reveal their new Toa status.
Remember: we're dealing with Takua, not Vakama. Where Vakama has his visions, Takua does not, so he's more or less stuck in the present.
The team quickly run into trouble and help free the city from the Morbuzakh, finding their disks along the way and even growing together as a team. Maybe as a sort of "background" detail, Takua can be messing with his mask because it moves a lot. At first, he's quiet, like he's keeping an eye out and gauging his new team, and ultimately gets them all to start warming up to him, sort of acting as Nokama's secind in command before he has to step up, figuratively sit everyone down, and get them to victory.
In this search is Vakama, who helps Takua, but in exchange for something: he needs the great disks to make something for Turaga Dume. The team is not happy about it at all, but Takua agrees, saying he'll hand the disks over if Turaga Dume doesn't want them.
When they pledge themselves heroes of Metru-Nui, Turaga Dume is not impressed, especially with seeing troublemaking Takua with a group of jesters. They get the crap beaten out of them and half the team is captured. Before escaping, though, Takua nabs Vakama and books it, his reason being that Vakama wanted the disks anyway and is long due for a vacation.
Unlike Vakama, Takua isn't really questioned because the team thinks he's cross-wired. Instead, he's questioned because he gives off, "accident" vibes. When asked what he does, he answers with, "What CAN'T I do?" When asked about which Metru he's from, he firmly says Ta-Metru even though the blue of his mask says otherwise, and the gold on his body does not help his case at all.
Onewa and Matau have the most doubt towards Takua, Onewa because Takua is not Toa material at all and is the reason Toa Lhikan is gone and Matau because he and Takua just get on each other's nerves.
Going back to having Vakama around, both Nokama and Matau think it's a bad idea, but it's too late to just put him back, so they bring him with, though they realize that they made the right call when Vakama reveals that Dume wanted him to make a Mask of Time, even more so when they realize that Dume is the Makuta Teridax in disguise and cannot give him the Mask Maker or the disks AT ALL.
There's more I could go into, but I'll save that for a future post. This is long enough as is😅

Vakama is baby, but he's done it before
ok so these posts by @crystaltoa and @goattypegirl have been orbiting each other in my brain for the last 36ish hours and finally coalesced into something hopefully coherent
if we run with the idea of the Vahi as a big "TIMELINE RESET" button which ensures both its own creation and un-creation, suppose it could also ensure the creation and un-creation of its own creator as an additional safeguard? suppose that, at the moment of its use, the Vahi reaches backward in its own timeline to trigger the birth/manufacturing of a Matoran imbued with the necessary metatemporal intelligence and potential for Toa-hood just in time for them to fully master the art of maskmaking before crafting the Mask of Time -- and simultaneously, resetting the new timeline to a point just before its maker would have been made. you can't have a metatemporal intelligence just operating freely, after all -- who knows what else a being of that nature might make when left to its own devices?
so: of course Vakama is only like 500-1000 years old when the Great Cataclysm strikes -- that was all the time he needed to master his craft before it was Vahi-o'clock. that's how it goes every time.
but this still leaves some issues unaddressed
canon shows no signs of the Vahi having capabilities like this. BUT we've only ever seen it wielded by Toa, who were not terribly good at it. if it takes higher levels of focus and control to unlock the timeline-resetting capabilities, perhaps it was meant for a bearer with more skill and power, experienced in the use of Legendary Kanohi...perhaps, in the event of a universe-threatening catastrophe, the Vahi was meant for Artakha to use?
but if that's the case, why would Vakama have respawned in Metru Nui instead of Artakha? maybe Metru Nui has better Maskmaking 101, maybe that's where the Great Disks usually manifest whenever the timeline resets, maybe he has showed up on Artakha's island some of the other times.....maybe he lands in whatever region the Disks have ended up by then.
so if it's not necessarily set in stone where in the MU Vakama might appear, master maskmaking, become a Toa, collect & combine the Great Disks, and forge the Vahi, then we'd need a way to ensure that the mask gets to Artakha as soon as possible upon completion no matter where it shows up. and THAT is where Voporak comes into play
inevitably, once a fresh timeline is stable, someone[s] will eventually be like "imagine if there was a Mask of Time, would that be fucked up or what" and imbue somebody else with the power to sense temporal anomalies (there'd probably also need to be a new Voporak after every reset - the Vahi would undo the previous one since someone with time-sensing abilities would likely sense that the timeline has been altered, and you can't risk that knowledge getting out if you want affairs to stay stable. gotta keep things tidy, no loose ends! so who knows how many different beings have been Voporak before our current timeline? there's no reason to assume it was a highborn Steltian every time). for an optimally stable time loop, Voporak would set out directly from Artakha, swipe the Vahi, and hightail it home
so now we can identify where the current timeline started to go askew: the Brotherhood sent our Voporak to Odina instead of Artakha, which leaves us with a Vahi-retriever loyal to TSO. at this point it still would've been possible to course-correct and undo the Cataclysm entirely, but then Vakama wielded the Vahi himself, which -- despite needing to be a Toa in order to successfully forge the mask -- he technically wasn't meant to do
(on another note, this all could inform Teridax's motivations for wanting the Vahi. perhaps he thought he could alter the timeline further in his favor somehow, in addition to speeding up the brainwashing of the Matoran)
as goattypegirl's writing on the subject already states, whatever Vakama achieved with the Mask of Time did successfully prevent the Cataclysm from destroying the GSR or wiping out all life inside, and the fact that Mata Nui's mission was a success and that Spherus Magna was restored in what should have been a doomed timeline -- essentially a time loop that never got closed -- is frankly a miracle
and the remaining Great Beings are definitely in for a shock when they learn that not only does the Vahi still physically exist, but so do Vakama and Voporak

Hii again, I'm just wondering if you have any headcanons/fun facts about the matoran/toa in your au that you'd be willing to share? 👀 the facts/headcanons can be random btw :]
Hello~! Hmm... let me see...
A little character tidbit I probably should get out of the way since I never mentioned it, Macku is trans in my au, so is Tamaru. An element may have a majority of a certain gender, but it's not strange to see other genders or see people transition in their society.
Glasses do exist in this au, for example, Matau needs them - but their design is more geared towards Le-Metru matoran life. So some glasses are typical looking in other Metrus, but Le-Matoran glasses were made to fit their lifestyle of transportation. This doesn't mean that every Le-matoran is visually impaired, but goggles/glasses were more typical for them.
When the time came to migrate to Mata Nui, Matau and/or the other Turaga definitely would've had a problem figuring out how to give matoran who needed glasses to them - most glasses were probably lost or broken during the move. So I imagine Vakama and Matau collaborated together to make a new type of glasses for the matoran and some still go to them for check ups and repairs, though the process of making them is being taught to other matoran.
Another thing about Le-Matoran I imagine is that most are ambidextrous or they throw disks a different way. Imagine every other Matoran on Mata Nui flinging disks from their arms like how they do in the sets (the same side as their throwing arm), but Le-Matoran fling disks like how we throw frisbees (from the other side of their body).
So I didn't get to showcase it much, but if you've noticed it, there are reddish markings on Ta-Matoran's/Tahu's foreheads that is meant to look like a single flame. I might change this fact, but on Tahu it was a sort of birthmark he got in the process of being created by Artahka, meant to signify his leadership. Once Tahu's visage was recorded and shared, some Ta-Matoran took to using that marking as a way showing support for their fire Toa. Though as time went on, the meaning for it changed. In Metru-Nui, it was changed to signifying that these Matoran had done great deeds or have created significant leaps in mask making creation. Though when it came time to migrate to Mata Nui, Vakama changed it to mean the Matoran were given a bit of Tahu's flame to fire up their spirit in battles - pretty much a blessing in a way.
During the Toa Mata's training with Hydraxon, Spinax was actually really nice to the Toa. When they weren't training, the Toa would always hang out with Spinax like he was "the family dog." Spinax especially preferred Pohatu since the both of them could keep up with each other when running and Pohatu was especially excitable around the dog.
Speaking of animals though, the rahi in this au vary in their organic-ness. Some look more robotic than others, but they don't look exactly like the sets. Like Keetongu is more organic than most other rahi, but their musculoskeletal system is more prominent than the Toa or Matoran. That's why the hordika have more metallic parts on their body too.
Gali's long, metal-ringed braid was given to her at a young age. (Since I imagine the Toa Mata were a special case and had been children at one point.) Vortixx had visited the island to drop off weapons designed for the Toa Mata to use, and Gali took notice to the long braid the lead Vortixx had worn and asked if the woman could give her one just like hers. (I kind of imagine the Vortixx were a little friendlier in the past, but time kind of whittled away at their hospitality) The Vortixx had agreed and told Gali exactly what she needed to do to grow and care for it properly. To Vortixx, the braid was a symbol of authority and power, but to matoran on Mata Nui, it turned into "Gali's iconic war braid." Some have tried to imitate one, but most found the commitment to growing one excruciating so most found it easier just to cut it off. Nokama had a hard time not mentioning what the braid actually was, since she knew Roodaka had one that looked similar. But she, and the other Turaga, never revealed what it actually represented to them.
I still think of Mata Nui and Makuta as brothers in this au. And this is a bit of a longshot headcanon, but Mata Nui and Makuta were originally Great Beings that volunteered to use their essences to become "leaders" of this universe. Makuta was jealous that Mata Nui was chosen to be the beating heart of the Matoran Universe, but once they transitioned into becoming a part of the Matoran, they would forget about all of their experiences as Great Beings. (But Makuta's jealousy still lingered in his heart) Speaking of which though, Velika was definitely jealous of Mata Nui and Makuta being the "chosen ones" though. But we all know how their story goes, especially with the whole "rule Spherus Magna" part of their plan too :')
---
I think I'll stop there for now. More things may pop up as they come along, but that's all I can think of that I haven't mentioned so far. I will always provide more context on my blog posts in the future, so it's always worth it to click those links! (I promise qwq) Thanks for the question, I hope this was the kind of answer you were looking for!

Important question to anyone who had any of either set of Bionicle toothbrushes (or have acquired these in some other way):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about and/or aren't Bionicle fans, context (and relevant Biosector01 pages) below.
Ok so back in the day, there were three sets of Bionicle-themed electric toothbrushes; one released in 2003 based on the Toa Nuva, and two released in 2004: one based on the Toa Metru, and another based on the Vahki.
The Nuva and Metru sets came with a unique piece that was essentially a fully-functional, single-moulded hollow facade of a 2001-style head assembly (image of what a normal one of those looks like below) attached to a clip that fit onto the toothbrush's top.
Tumblr media
They also came with the mask that a character from that set wore (the 2003 set had that year's organic-looking "Nuva" versions of the Hau, Kaukau and Pakari, and the 2004 set had the more-powerful "Great" versions of the Huna, Mahiki and Ruru; the other 2004 set, which I didn't know about until I started making this post, came with some of the disks that were the gimmick of that year's six small "Matoran" sets, as well as one of the main ones).
Me and my brother had all three of the Metru ones, since - for some reason - a local pound-shop was still selling them despite us getting them in around 2008. To this day I cannot think of any other uses for them besides decorating your toothbrush, but considering the sheer number of builds I've seen that incorporate really random things like canister-lids...

One thing the bionicle novels/comics are good for are filling in the gaps the movies left (how the toa metru found the great disks, how they created ships to ferry the matoran to mata nui) but then you get the books that stick rigidly to the movies' plots and suddenly it's like "oh yeah, vakama went from being malcontent to actively betraying his friends in the span of a literal day (and his friends located a mythical rahi in that same period)" when I always assumed there was more of a time skip in the movie, and I would have loved to see those two plotlines progress in parallel

Back in sixth grade, I attempted to write my own version of Bionicle: Rahi Beasts that was updated to include all Rahi introduced since the original 2005 release. I never finished it, given it was an enormous list from Biosector01 to work off of, but a great deal of the charm for me was writing the entire thing in the Matoran alphabet, to really sell the idea that this was an in-universe book.
Of course, the mental and physical labor of memorizing the Matoran alphabet and writing it, as well as my limited Elementary skills, made the entires fairly short and simplistic. I also included drawings for the Rahi, and clearly couldn’t decide if I wanted them organic and/or biomechanical in their depictions. I’ve included translations, with spelling and grammar mistakes retained for accuracy. I’ve still got two more posts on this due to photo limits, so here’s the first section;

Bionicle Rahi Beasts
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the world of Bionicle. There are many species in the vast world of Bio.
Some include Rahi. Rahi are the wild life of the Bio universe.
Some are small, and some are enormous.
From Acid Flies, to Energy Hounds, the rahi are all unuique!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Domain: Southern Continent
Acid Fly chasing Protodites.
ACID FLY
Acid Flies are dragonfly-like Rahi. Found on the Southern Continent, they can oftenly be found flying on the continent. Their main means of defense is spitting acid at its prey and predators. They tend to go after small insects, such as Protodites.
One strange, ironic thing is that while the inside of their bodies are immune to their acid (obviously), the outsid isn't. As a result, there have been a few rare incidents where an Acid Fly has been injur by itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Domain: Karda Nui
An Air Serpent enjoying the view.
AIR SERPENT
An Air Serpent is a reptilian creature that can glide for short distances and, like Acid Flies, shoot acid at prey and/or predators.
Living in Karda Nui, these Rahi often terrorize the Matoran living nearby.
Unlke Acid Flies, their acid does not harm them at all.
When Makuta Antroz, Bitil, Chirox, Gorast, Krika, Mutran, and Vamprah invaded Karda Nui, most of the Air Serpents were captured.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Domain: Metru Nui
The Archives Beast as an empty room.
ARCHIVES BEAST
The Archives Beast is a powerful creature that can take any shape it wished.
Like the Krahka, it has been once proposed that both species are related.
The only known specimen was stored in the same level as the Onu-Metru Great Disk. When Toa Whenua and Nuju were searching for it, they went into the same room as the Archives Beast. Appearing as an empty room, it tried to kill them, but they escaped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Domain: Onu-Metru
An Archives Mole on a stroll.
ARCHIVES MOLE
These small Rahi originally dwelled in Po-Metru, but had to migrate when the number of villages increased. A majority wound up in the Archives.
Of all Rahi, Archives Moles are probably among the best at working together. Being relatively defenseless against larger predators, they have learned to work togethr. They have been known to form living ladders and bridges.
When aione, an Archives Mole hides in a small area.

One thing I think that’s worth noting is that the “Fake Toa Metru” candidates that Mata Nui allegedly tricked Teridax with, the ones who were the Great Disk Matoran, were actually reasonably viable candidates for being Toa themselves.
Like all destined Matoran, they’re all a little weird. And hey, the best lies are the ones rooted in the truth. I legitimately believe that all of them are destined to be Toa, it just wasn’t their time yet back in 04.
Yes even Ahkmou. No, not as a Shadow Toa.

It works better that we don't know how and why Mata Nui choose who were going to be the Toa Metru and who were the Great Disk Matoran. A mystery works better for it. Especially with the reveal in canon that Mata Nui was barely aware of what was happening inside his body.
But narratively? Metru Nui's culture fostered individualism and a strong sense of competition if you wanted a better lot in life. Or so were the matoran led to believe.
So, it had to be Vhisola, Nuhrii, and the others who were the Great Disk matoran.
They had the inherent drive to look for the Great Disks because of their strong envy / desire to gain fame in their respective Metru. Even to the point that they'd use illegal means or endanger themselves and others to find them.
And the Toa Metru needed them to destroy the Morbuzakh.
Also, their personal troubles would've affected them more at doing their new duty than the Toa Metru's affected them at the beginning. They likely would've taken longer to understand that Lhikan's role wasn't as glorious as most of Metru Nui believed. But that it was lonely and difficult and all-consuming.
As for the Toa Metru? In their respective situations at the time? They wouldn't have looked for the Great Disks if they had learned about them.
While also unhappy in some ways - even if unaware of some aspects - they were complacent with their position in life.
They would've doubted the Great Disks' existence or that they could stop the King Root. If they researched them, I doubt that they'd have gone to the lengths of the canon Great Disk Matoran to find them.
So, Nokama, Vakama, and the others needed to be the Toa Metru.
They needed the shake-up of the change to become active and aware of the other issues plaguing Metru Nui. Because they were comparatively more stable than their counterparts, they could focus better on seeing the larger picture.
So. Each group needed to be in their respective role for the story to work.
That's not even taking into account the narrative parallels between the Great Disk Matoran and Makuta Teridax - envious of their counterparts' reputation and renown and pushing to eclipse / supplant them, thus driving the plot -
and the Toa Metru and Mata Nui - complacent, unaware of their counterparts' issues but also the larger-scale ones plaguing everybody, needing to be pushed to take action.
In this essay, I will-

AU concept: during the fight over the mask of time in time trap, the vahi gets activated and accidentally sends Vakama and Teridax back to a few days before the start of LoMN
Both remember the original timeline. No one else does.
Shenanigans include:
They're back in their time-appropriate bodies, so Teridax is wearing Turaga Dume's mask, while Vakama is back to being a Matoran
(Alternatively, you could set this during their first battle over the vahi. Depends on how raw you want Vakama over Lhikan's death vs still recovering from the Hordika arc, and how far along on the "i wish i was still a matoran"/personal growth arc you want him to be)
Teridax ensures the great disk matoran are chosen this time around, either by never planting the Toa Metru's names, or by convincing Lhikan to go with his first instincts
The great disk matoran certainly are. choices
(i.e. easy to manipulate, Teridax discovers)
Vakama struggling over whether he wants to put everything exactly back the way it was or whether he wants to find a way to correct his mistakes this time around
Also: the moral quandary of whether to tell Lhikan his fate from the original timeline
(Also just Vakama's general grief of seeing Lhikan again and knowing that, if he succeeds in restoring the timeline, he's sentencing Lhikan to death)
Vakama trying to gather the original Toa Metru and remembering, oh yeah, they really didn't get along at first
Like. At all
Teridax realising he still doesn't know how to make the vahi and so still needs Vakama (Vakama is definitely not going to cooperate... but that's what vahki and staffs of command are for)

Another level of awkward for the former Toa Metru returning as turaga to Metru Nui:
They are now in charge of the vahki, too.
I think canonically, the Vahki were all destroyed, either in the great cataclysm or by the Visorak, but in a scenario where Dume had been repairing them , or wanted them recreated... I think that's a hard "no" from everyone. I think the Rahaga would back them up on that.
Truth be told, I think Dume would have to be completely clueless to not know that Vahki had so many issues. I mean, smashing down buildings? Because that's marginally quicker than going AROUND them? Seriously? (Those things are probably the reason they started building regeneration disks into structures). I think he knew the problems they were causing. But there was a sunk cost fallacy involved, he'd invested too much time and resources into the Vahki project to cancel it now. Surely Nuparu's next software patch will sort it all out. Surely Matoran will eventually get the message that Crime is Bad and just stop doing any sort of mischief that would prompt the Vahki to chase them.... Surely it's better that the population thinks Dume's a ruthless iron-fisted tyrant than think he might have made a mistake...
I don't have a lot of sympathy for Dume, generally. But I think interpreting him as someone a bit lacking in empathy and in waaaay over his head with no support and unwilling to show weakness or fallibility is probably more reasonable than assuming he was just as much of an authoritarian tyrant as Teridax. The Turaga Metru don't particularly like him, and disagree with him on a lot of things, but he's probably grateful to have them and the Rahaga around rather than trying to run the city on his own, and grateful to have actual Toa upholding the peace instead of sadistic punishment machines.

Toa Kra
In another universe part of Teridax's plan involved the abduction of the Great Disk Matoran after the return to Metru Nui and their transformation into dark Toa with the use of Shadow Leeches and a stolen Toa Stone. These Toa wear dark armor and resemble a mix of Hordika and Rahkshi. Toa of Inferno- Nuhrii- With his shadow flames Nuhrii burns all he sees. A task made easier with his Kalis Mask of Laser Vision. He uses his Blaze Burner to launch flames as far as he wishes and uses the bayonet on the end for close quarter combat. Toa of Floods- Vhisola- Mistress of the shadow waves Vhisola loves to use her Lebab Mask of Incomprehension to confuse groups of enemies and pick them off with her Coral Crossbow. Toa of Mountains- Ahkmou- Ahkmou commands the shadow stones in battle. He uses his Fazet Mask of Density to phase through enemy blows and increase the density of his Meteor Mace moments before impact. Toa of Quakes- Tehutti- With his Xirak Mask of Fragmentation Tehutti shatters the very ground below his enemies with his Seismic Spear and buries them in shadow earth. Toa of Storms- Orkahm- Slow and methodical Orkham calls on the shadow air to fight. With his Lomos Mask of Slowness he brings even the fastest enemy to a crawl leaving them wide open for his twin Cyclone Cannons. In a pinch he can attach the cannons to his back as jet boosters. Toa of Blizzards- Ehyre- Ehyre's shadow ice chills to the core. His favorite tactic is to freeze foes with his Ice Sickles before shattering them with his Descari Mask of Power Scream. Toa of Shadows- Vultraz- As sadistic and cruel as always Vultraz leads the Toa Kra. Wearing the Kraahkan Mask of Shadows his control of the darkness rivals that of a Makuta. His Darkness Daggers can cut through even light itself.
