Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007, The Strause Brothers)
05/03/2024
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a 2007 film directed by the Strause Brothers.
The film was released in the United States on December 25, 2007, in Germany and Australia on December 26, 2007, and in the rest of the UE on January 25, 2008.
From the corpse of the Predator Scar, infected at the end of the first film, a Predalien emerges, a Xenomorph born from Yautja and therefore much stronger than a Xenomorph born from a human.
Mrs. Yutani is the one who will soon co-found Weyland-Yutani.
Work began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver, also changing the name several times.
In Italy, viewing of the film was prohibited for minors under 18, while in the United States only for unaccompanied minors under 17.
However, it received heavy panning from critics, recording a 12% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also received two nominations for Worst Prequel or Sequel and Worst Pretext for a Horror Film at the 2007 Razzie Awards.

Holy embarrassment! 'Batman v Superman' loads up on Razzies - CNET
Batman fought Superman, but you might say, it was the ticket-buyers who lost.
On Saturday, the day before the Academy Awards get handed out for outstanding achievements in movies, the Golden Raspberry Awards were given out to the worst movies of the past 12 months. And holy embarrassment, Batman, you might say it was a Super year for feeble films.
The title characters of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, won for worst screen combo, and their film also won worst screenplay, worst supporting actor for Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor and for worst remake, rip-off or sequel.
youtube
But in a year where politics dominated the news cycle, it made sense that a political movie shared the Razzies' pain. 'Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party," based on a book by Dinesh D'Souza, tied "Batman v Superman" for most Razzies by also claiming four. "Hillary's America" won the big award -- worst picture -- as well as worst director and actor for D'Souza (playing himself and also narrating) along with worst actress for the unnamed woman who portrayed Hillary Clinton.
"And the reason you're giving it to me is that you're very upset that Trump won," D'Souza said in the Razzies video announcing the winners. "You haven't gotten over it, you probably never will."
The Barry L. Bumstead Award for a movie that "cost a lot, and lost a lot," went to "Misconduct," starring Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins. It cost $11 million (converting roughly to £8.8 million and AU$14.3 million), the awards site reports, but grossed only $15,150 (roughly to £12,150 and AU$19,700).
Meanwhile, Kristen Wiig won the worst supporting actress award for her role in "Zoolander 2."
There was one positive award given. Former Razzie nominee Mel Gibson won the new Razzie Redeemer award, honoring "a humbling transformation from crap-meister to creative genius, or at least the inkling of a solid attempt." Gibson was honored for directing the Oscar-nominated "Hacksaw Ridge."
"From rant to rave, miracles do happen," Razzies video narrator Bill A. Jones notes while announcing Gibson's award.

The 2018 Razzie Awards: Check Out The Full ‘Winners’ List Here
Tonight, all of Hollywood is assembling for the Academy Awards, where the best movies of 2017 will receive their Oscars. However, before this celebration of a really solid year of movies takes place, the 2018 Golden Raspberry Awards — better known as the Razzies — as announced its list of "winners." A counterpoint of the Oscars, the Razzies award the worst movies of the year, and the nominees this time around include the likes The Emoji Movie, Fifty Shades Darker, and Transformers: The Last Knight. The "winners" have been announced and The Emoji Movie is going home as the worst movie of 2017.
Worst Picture: The Emoji Movie
Worst Actor: Tom Crusie, The Mummy
Worst Actress Tyler Perry, Boo! 2: A Madea Halloween
Worst Supporting Actor: Mel Gibson, Daddy’s Home 2
Worst Supporting Actress: Kim Basinger, Fifty Shades Darker
Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel: Fifty Shades Darker
Worst Director: Tony Leondis, The Emoji Movie
Worst Screenplay: Tony Leondis, Eric Siegel, and Mike White, The Emoji Movie
Worst Screen Combo: Any Two Obnoxious Emojis, The Emoji Movie
The worst of the worst have been decided. Taking the top award this year, The Emoji Movie has been named Worst Picture. Otherwise known as the movie where Patrick Stewart voiced poop, The Emoji Movie was an animated film that explored the world inside of a smartphone, where all the emojis are alive and all the apps are places to visit. It’s like Toy Story or The LEGO Movie, but with none of the class or genuine thought applied. The film featured the voice talents of T.J. Miller, James Corden, Anna Faris, and Patrick Stewart. The other nominees in the category included The Mummy, Fifty Shades Darker, Baywatch, and Transformers: The Last Knight. These movies aren’t great, but they are more mediocre than bad, so, yeah this goes to you, The Emoji Movie.
The other "top" (I’m starting to get irony overload) winners for the Razzies include Tom Cruise from The Mummy and Tyler Perry for Boo! 2: A Madea Halloween for Worst Actor and Worst Actress, respectively. While The Emoji Movie took the most awards, Fifty Shades Darker was right behind it. The capper to the Fifty Shades trilogy didn’t impress critically and definitely didn’t sit well with whoever it is that decides these nominations in the first place. Even though Transformers: The Last Knight had quite a few nominations, it didn’t win any of the categories.
Not many people were a fan of The Emoji Movie and that was certainly the case for the Razzies. I’m typically against the Razzies on the grounds that they are more mean-spirited than fun jabbing, but The Emoji Movie was certainly no diamond in the rough. It also made Jordan Peele quit acting, so yes, give that sucker some Razzies. As for the other nominees, I don’t think many of them are outright terrible. Sure, Baywatch and Daddy’s Home 2 aren’t smart (or funny) comedies, but they are more harmlessly bad than outright terrible.
We can’t promise that 2018 won’t have some stinkers in the bunch, but you can plan accordingly and see them all for yourself by using our 2018 movie release schedule. For more movie news, keep it right here at CinemaBlend and we’ll keep you updated with new information as soon as it becomes available.

Even the Razzie Awards are getting political.
A documentary criticizing U.S. Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton tied on Saturday with superhero ensemble “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on a list of the year’s worst achievements in film, winning four Razzies apiece.
The annual tongue-in-cheek Razzie awards, which serve as an antidote to Hollywood’s Oscars ceremony, named Dinesh D’Souza’s “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party” as the worst film of 2016.
D’Souza, a conservative commentator and best-selling author, was named worst actor for narrating his documentary and worst director alongside Bruce Schooley. Worst actress went to the person who portrayed Clinton in the film.
“Hillary’s America” took in a modest $13 million at the North American box office last year.

The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry awards, follow a Hollywood awards season marked by outspoken speeches and protests against the policies and behavior of U.S. President Donald Trump. The season culminates with Sunday’s Oscars ceremony.
“Batman v Superman” also won four Razzies, including worst screen combo for “Ben Affleck & His BFF (Baddest Foe Forever) Henry Cavill” and worst “remake, rip-off or sequel.”

The annual Razzie Redeemer Award went to veteran actor-director Mel Gibson. Gibson has been welcomed back into the folds of Hollywood with his war drama “Hacksaw Ridge” a decade after a drunken anti-Semitic rant made him an outcast.
“Hacksaw Ridge” is nominated for six Oscars on Sunday, including Gibson for director.
Winners of the year’s worst films are given a gold, spray-painted trophy.
Winners of the Razzies are voted for online by around 1,000 Razzie members from 24 countries, who sign up online and pay a $40 membership fee.

No major blockbuster in years has been this incoherently structured, this seemingly uninterested in telling a story with clarity and purpose. It grumbles along for what feels like for ever, jinking from subplot to subplot, until two shatteringly expensive-looking fights happen back to back, and the whole thing crunches to a halt.
Robie Collin, film critic for the Daily Telegraph
The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry awards, follow a Hollywood awards season marked by outspoken speeches and protests against the policies and behavior of U.S. President Donald Trump. D’Souza’s new film, “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party,” might be described as propaganda that shades off into paranoia. It asserts that the Democratic Party was single-handedly responsible for slavery, the genocidal killing of Native Americans, the Ku Klux Klan, and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Owen Gleiberman, chief film critic for Variety
