I am sailing off to London
I am accompanied by someone who always pays
I have found a wealthy husband who will keep me in comfort for all my days
He is not a lot of fun, but there's no one
Who can match you for turn of phrase
My Alexander, don’t forget to write

Look at Japan. Earlier this month, the Bank of Japan announced that it is not going ahead with plans to implement a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) after all. And why not? Because the people don't want it, they don't need it and they won't use it, that's why. Specifically, as the Asia Times reports, in the heavily cash-reliant Japanese economy, people understand that cash is safe, highly liquid and useful in emergencies. It also ensures equal access to services for the country's aging population, many of whom are not comfortable with digital payments. In fact, despite the widespread adoption of cashless payment services at various businesses in Japan over the past several years, cash usage has actually been rising. It seems more and more people are catching on to the technocrats' plans to use CBDCs as a tool of control and are running as fast as they can in the opposite direction.

regarding Talulah’s lines removed on CN server
This part in particular:
Tumblr media
I wasn’t going to (publicly) talk about this at first because the general consensus on CN side was ‘stop talking about it don’t get Arknights shutdown’ but then every reaction outside of CN spaces I’ve seen talking about it has gotten it wrong on how/why it happened so here we go
So there’s a post on twitter going around about the patched-out lines except the link posted as the source doesn’t even know why it happened and theorises that it’s about ‘covid lockdown back then in mainland’ which is. False. Why? because they talk of the lockdown as a past event when they’re still happening.
And the comments range from “If this was censored how come Lungmen Sewer wasn’t removed??” to “But it doesn’t just represent China it represents other countries too!!” which is just ????? It’s not some ~random~ censorship hit... The most amazing one I’ve seen has got to be someone going "(well) nobody gave a shit about the lockdowns in (their country)” after I explained the situation this one:
Tumblr media
I mean obviously it’s not commentary since it was published way before the Covid Zero Policy happened but guess what -- it IS somewhat because of the policy; just read the fucking news the lockdowns have not ended and some areas have it even worse
I don’t live there myself so I don’t have like first-hand experience or whatever but I go on Weibo frequent enough thank you Il Siracusa that I’ve seen plenty of posts discussing the links I posted above and I did see the OG inciting post on weibo and another one yesterday posting a screenshot of the changelog and saying something like “wow they really removed it” and the reactions were ranging from "uhhh for real?😅” to “Why are you making noise again it’s like you want them to get in trouble” to “Deleting it made Talulah's point even stronger so thanks HG”
TL;DR: china's strict zero covid policy has been going on for months and its still happening and still super strict(varies according to area ofc its not like barricades everywhere), people are sick and tired of it, someone posted those lines and it got viral online, game got patched quietly around midnight on the 10th because, yes it does hit a bit too close to their reality even if the rest of the world already treats covid like its ‘over’, I don’t think I need to explain how their government works right
“Did HG remove it on their own or because they were made to?“

The more common archetype for success, is the pro-social extrovert. While a charismatic or over socialized midwit will have economic advantages over an autistic genius, society dishonestly downplays the importance of networking, popularity, and social skills to economic success. The shift in the corporate world to becoming more managerial also selects for conformity, which has also disproportionately benefited women, who are generally more conformist and pro-social than men. Managerialism disfavors those who don’t want to put up with the BS, but rather carve out their own path, which are often the traits of geniuses. Both secondary and higher education, especially the generalized liberal arts model, also selects for compliant box checkers. The grading system and university admissions demands that students do well in all fields, rather than hone one specialized skill. This lack of specialization disfavors savants and penalizes risk taking and experimentation, which is needed for innovation. Geniuses would be better off under an independent study model of education. For instance independent bloggers often produce material that is superior to credentialed, overpaid academics, and corporate journalists.
