OC Whump day four! Magic sick bus
Based off of a Tumblr post by justalittlehoarse
If anyone is confused, this takes place in an AU where wolves are a normal part of human society, pups go to school and most adults have jobs.
Ao3 link:
The trip had gone smoothly at first, the human children and the pups were enjoying it thoroughly. Even the adult chaperones, human and wolf, were having fun.
The school that middle schoolers from the clans went to had decided to take a field trip to an aquarium, where they had gotten to taste certain exotic fish and sushi. Much to everyone's delight.
The entire school was having a blast, although Shadow was slightly annoyed at the fact that they were all staring at trapped fish. He ended up threatening kids who started to tap on the glass.
However, Ajax still felt like the trip had gone smoothly. He and the other two chaperones from the clans, Shadow, and Atomic sat in the back of the bus, watching the children through small souvenirs at each other.
It wasn’t until they heard screaming that Ajax realized something was up. One of the human children at the front of the bus, who had been complaining of stomach pain, had puked all over the seat.
His friend was screaming for help and Ajax watched a human chaperone run up to them.
“Poor kid,” Ajax said sympathetically.
“Yeah, wonder what made him sick?” Atomic said.
Shadow just looked straight ahead, saying nothing, Ajax guessed he was angry at the human, probably thinking about how he deserved it for tapping on the fish tanks.
Ajax had thought nothing of it, then the second kid vomited. Soon half the bus was complaining of stomach pain and nausea. That was when Ajax started to get worried.
“We should check on the pups,” He suggested.
Atomic was already starting to walk around the bus, talking to their clanmates. Ajax was about to follow him when he realized that Shadow had not yet moved.
“You okay?” Ajax asked, hoping his feeling of dread was wrong.
“Fine,” Shadow snapped, getting up to follow the younger wolf.
“Ajax!” He heard his name called out by Arctic, his apprentice. “Scorch isn’t feeling well!”
“Spirits,” Ajax moved as quickly as he could though the jumble of worried teachers and children.
By the time he got to Arctic and Scorch’s seat he saw Scorch heave and spill his stomach contents to the ground, letting out a whimper at the cramping pain suddenly appearing in his gut.
Arctic looked like he was about to be sick as well. Ajax didn’t actually think he was going to be, then his stomach lurched and the pup clamped his mouth shut.
Ajax didn’t have time to worry about that as Atomic called to him, “Ajax! Birch and Ace just got sick!” He sounded worried.
“Shoot, what in the world?” Was this all sympathy? Was there some new virus that caused puking at the moment of infection and was very easily spread?
He heard the pained whimper of a pup as Arctic lost the battle with his stomach and heaved, hurling out the food he had eaten at the aquarium.
Despite the fact that he had just vomited minutes ago, Scorch started to lick Arctic to comfort him. Before he had to lean away as his intestines spewed liquid up his throat.
Now the entire bus was in clamor, half of the kids had already puked and the other half were clearly about to. Ajax watched pups hunching over churning stomachs before emptying them violently on the bus floor.
Atomic ran up to him, and Ajax could tell he didn’t feel well either, but hen was trying to hide it. “I think it was the fish we ate,” Atomic said, “The teachers are getting ill as well.”
He could be dense but he was actually not bad at figuring things out when he needed to. Which was definitely now.
“Right, that makes perfect sense,” Ajax nodded, “So, it’s just food poisoning?”
Atomic nodded but didn’t open his mouth.
“Did the bus driver eat the fish?” Ajax asked, suddenly terrified.
“Not as much as everyone else,” Atomic said, he was starting to pant. “I think-” A painful lurch stopped Atomic in his tracks, he doubled over, heaving until stomach contents spilled from his mouth.
Ajax grimaced in sympathy, “It’s alright,” He reassured, licking Atomic’s head. “Go lay down at the back of the bus, I can organize everyone with Shadow.”
Atomic gulped, “No, I-” Once more he was cut off as a surge of vomit shot up his throat and splattered to the floor. Gasping he whimpered, “O-okay.”
Ajax turned back to Arctic and Scorch, Arctic was curled into a pained ball with Scorch looking queasy but trying to comfort his boyfriend.
“Scorch, how do you feel?” Ajax hated to ask him to help but something told him he was about to lose Shadow’s help, and he couldn’t organize a whole bus on his own.
Scorch swallowed, “I-I can help,” He declared.
Ajax nodded, hoping the pup was telling the truth. “Okay, take Arctic to the back and lay him in one of the seats. We’re putting the wolves in the back and the humans at the front.”
Scorch only nodded his head, not daring to open his mouth.
Ajax continued moving throughout the bus, transferring humans and wolves. The smell was beginning to get overwhelming. Luckily, most of the students had managed to vomit in bags, leaving the driver to merely stop so Ajax could empty them in the nearest trash can.
While he was doing so, he noticed the driver clamber out of the bus and hurl his stomach out all over the grass.
Great.
Ajax returned to the bus, wincing in sympathy as he heard several students lose their lunch in a plastic bag. Scorch was walking around offering crackers and bags, but Ajax saw him trembling with every step. Gulping down the vomit that was clearly struggling to escape.
“Scorch, you’ve done enough, go lay down,” Ajax said walking up to the pup.
Scorch looked like he was about to argue, but he clamped his mouths shut suddenly and nodded, desperately trying to keep his stomach from forcing anything else up his throat.
The bus was full of groaning students and staff, sickly gurgling noises sounded from all around him, and the sound of retching and liquid splattering into plastic filled the air.
Ajax hurried around, now the only one able to help out, he had no clue we’re Shadow had gone. He had to clean, and comfort, and help. All the while, making sure they didn’t crash on the side of the road, as the bus driver continued to puke as he drove.
All in all, the field trip had gone from smooth to a disaster, and he still couldn’t not find Shadow!
He wasn’t mad, only worried. Shadow would do anything to avoid showing weakness.
“Ajax,” He heard the whimper of a pup, immediately he rushed to their side, abandoning what he had been cleaning before.
It was Moonfur, she was curled around her lurching stomach, letting out whimpers of pain as it gurgled and tried to force her to spew out what was making it sick.
“Firefur,” Was all she managed to get out before swallowing and squeezing her eyes shut at the cramps ripping through her abdomen. Moonfur had one of the worst cases Ajax had seen so far. The poisoning seemed not to rely on how much you had eaten, but on what you had eaten.
Moonfur groaned and forced out, “Firefur, he’s got a fever,” Before a cry was torn from her throat and her stomach spasmed, her mouth flying open and spewing out chunks of fish and acid.
She curled up tighter, whimpering and trying anything to ease her stomach. Ajax wanted to comfort her, but he heard Firefur’s pained moans behind him and quickly turned to the other apprentice.
Firefur indeed had a fever, he was sweating and barely conscious. “Ajax!” He heard his name called again, spinning around he rushed over to Red who lay curled next to his sibling.
Ace was shaking, their entire body seemed to be convulsing. Tears fell silently from their eyes, their retching had rendered their voice useless. Their pelt shimmered with sweat and as Ajax watched, their gut twisted, letting out a horrible, sickly gargle before shooting hot liquid up the pup’s throat.
Ace retched, their stomach spasming just as Moonfur’s had. Ajax was suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling of helplessness. He could not comfort Ace, he had no idea what to do, outside of keeping the place clean.
Red was licking his sibling’s fur, trying to offer comfort, even though he himself was groaning as his intestines twisted and cramped.
“Did they eat with Moonfur?” Ajax asked, desperate to find a connection and figure out who was going to get the most ill.
Red swallowed and nodded, suddenly looking very sick. The apprentice jerked his head away from Ace, still shaking violently on the floor, and spewed a fishy stream of liquid from his throat.
Gagging, he looked back up, trying to fully answer Ajax. But his stomach cramped again and it was all he could do not to scream, tears leaping into his eyes.
It killed Ajax to see his clan in so much pain, he wanted to stop and comfort every one of them, but he couldn’t. He had to go back to Firefur and figure out who else was going to get violently ill.
“I’m sorry, Red. You’re going to need to comfort them, I have to help the others,” Ajax said, his voice pleading.
Red just nodded again, too nauseated to even look up without risking expelling his stomach contents.
How had things gone bad so quickly?
Ajax rushed back over to Firefur, now dry heaving, curled up on the stained carpet.
. . .
The next few hours were a blur, Ajax was surrounded by puking animals and humans. The smell was horrible, despite his attempts to clean, and he had passed panic long ago.
It turned out, Ace, Moonfur, Firefur and apparently Shadow had all eaten from the same fish. Ace, Moonfur, and Firefur were lying on the ground in excruciating agony, moans falling from their lips, stomachs letting out wet, ill-sounding gurgles as their insides twisted and were spewed from their mouths.
Ajax had found Shadow long ago, the wolf had been helping out and avoiding Ajax as he was clearly just as ill, if not more than, the others.
He had found Shadow struggling to stand, stomach emitting a sound like water boiling over. He was heaving, gut wrenching spasms wracking his body and leaving him trying to keep down the vomit brewing in his churning intestines.
He had been horribly unsuccessful. And, once more, as Ajax watched, the powerful beta of the clan was violently ill. Tears streaming from his eyes, stomach tightening into agonizing cramps, a scream was ripped from his throat.
That had been enough to tell Ajax that, whatever this was, it was bad. Shadow never cried out, except maybe in Blizzard’s presence. He had been slammed against trees, spine nearly shattering, torn apart from the chest to kidneys, and still had made no sound except to cuss his assaulter out.
It was when Shadow accepted Ajax’s help that he started to feel ill himself. He had been on the bus, now jerking as the driver suffered from retching dry heaves, for hours. He had never liked cars, always getting motion sickness. The stench of vomit filled the air, and the sound of others around him spilling their stomachs out did not help. Anxiety was churning his gut, causing him to catch his breath as a wave of nausea rolled over him.
Ajax stopped, he had to take a break. It wouldn’t do anyone any good if he got sick now.
He felt the overwhelming urge to empty his stomach, the queasiness quickly shifting to horrible nausea. It only got worse as he stood there listening to his clanmate’s retching and groaning. He could feel the bus moving and his stomach started to churn faster.
He felt like his intestines had decided to go on a rollercoaster in his gut. A jet of hot liquid rocketed up his throat and he gulped quickly, forcing it back down to his stomach. He felt it settle uneasily before his stomach left out a wet gurgle and launched it back up his throat.
Ajax swallowed it back down again, it only made the nausea worse, but he had to push through. His clanmates needed him.
. . .
Finally, the bus driver drove them to a rest stop, encouraging everyone to get some food before they all drove the last stretch home.
No one wanted to eat, including Ajax. He was the one to leap out of the bus, his stomach did not appreciate it, and grab packets of crackers and bottles of water to bring back for the others on the bus.
He didn’t know what he should eat, but decided on something called jerky. It looked like meat, couldn’t be that bad, right?
The moment he reentered the bus he felt his stomach start to churn even faster. Nausea rose in his throat, but he was determined not to puke while passing out everyone’s crackers.
Atomic noticed his slow, deliberate movements. And could tell that he was in pain as well.
“Ajax, you should take a break,” He said softly when his boyfriend reached him. He had been trying to help, but his stomach had had a different idea, forcing him to retch so many times he could barely stand.
“I did,” Was all Ajax said before moving on.
By the time he was finished, his gut had twisted into such a tight knot he almost wanted to throw up, just to alleviate the churning pain.
He knew he wasn’t ill, just motion sick and anxious, both things he had vomited from before. But he was afraid to do so again, maybe it had to do with the pain everyone else was in?
Tearing into the jerky package, deciding to get it over with, he bit into the tough meat and forced it down his throat.
He felt it tumble down his esophagus before coming to an uneasy rest in his flipping stomach. He took another bite, and that was all it took.
His intestines twisted, letting out a sickly gargle, before exploding. He hunched over as hot liquid surged up his throat. This time he couldn’t stop it as the undigested jerky and stomach acid started to spew from his mouth.
His gut lurched, emptying itself twice before reducing him to gagging heaves.
“Told ya,” Atomic’s pained voice reached his ears.
Ajax could only groan as his stomach clenched and forced him to retch again.
He knew it wasn’t that long, but it felt like forever until his insides settled. Stomach still upset and churning, but he stopped heaving and was able to walk around, helping his clan again.
. . .
The rest of the ride seemed to mellow out. Less people were getting sick and Atomic had recovered enough to help out.
The first thing he did was make sure Ajax was alright.
“You’re shaking,” He observed.
“So are you,” Ajax responded.
“I’m ill, you’re not,” Atomic countered.
“Just drop it, please?” Ajax begged, feeling his stomach start to bubble again.
Atomic nodded, “Fine, how much longer do you think it’ll take us to get to the forest?”
“I don’t know, we just need to focus on making sure no one dies,” Ajax said stoically.
“Wait, someone could die!” Atomic cried.
“I’m kidding, calm down,” Ajax sighed, he still felt as if his stomach were twisting and flipping in his gut.
Atomic saw him swallow. “You still haven’t taken a break,” He said softly.
“No time, let’s check on Moonfur and Firefur,” Ajax said quickly, starting to make his way through the crowd of students.
Moonfur was still lying, curled in a tight ball, legs pulled up to her stomach, paws digging into her churning gut in an attempt to ease it. Clearly, she was not succeeding. A groan slipped from her lips, turning into a gagging retch before bile and acid dripped from her mouth. She whimpered, stomach burning and cramping as it tried to force out anything it could find in her intestines.
Firefur was barely conscious, his stomach seemed to be jerking up and down as if convulsing. Whimpers and groans escaped his mouth and chunks of food were being forced up his throat every few minutes.
Shadow lay curled around his apprentice, licking him and uncharacteristically trying to comfort him in any way he could. Despite the fact that his face was screwed up in a grimace and he kept swallowing, trying desperately to keep his insides down. He was constantly failing, having to curl away from Firefur and empty chunks of food, bile, and acid to the bus floor.
The whole bus was still filled with the sound of people and animals retching, of liquid hitting the ground and plastic, of groans, and of stomachs emitting horrible, wet, sickly gurgling noises.
Ajax felt like he was going to be sick again. Watching Moonfur writhing on the ground, Firefur barely able to move as digested food was forced up his throat, and Shadow squeezing his eyes shut in a desperate attempt to keep his stomach down, Did not help.
He felt liquid start to push its way up his throat, his intestines were twisting tighter. A soft groan fell from his lips as he felt the liquid rush into his mouth. He forced it back down, gulping and feeling it lay painfully on his churning stomach.
“Atomic,” Shadow gasped, his voice much weaker than Ajax had ever heard, “Can you help Glacier?”
Atomic glanced back at Glacier and Max. Glacier was shaking, body spasming as chunks of food were spayed from her mouth. Max lay beside her, clearly trying to comfort her. He failed as his stomach lurched and forced him to curl into a painful ball.
“Yeah,” Atomic nodded, glancing at Ajax who was still trying to keep the liquid from rising any higher.
Atomic hurried over to the two pups. “Hey, guys-” He was cut off as he felt something rush up his throat and start to spill into his mouth “Sorry-” He choked out before lurching forward, chunks of fish spilling from his mouth.
This field trip was indeed a nightmare.
Atomic looked up, panting and gasping for breath. “S-sorry,” He repeated, swallowing, “I wish I could help you, but we can’t really do anything except ride it out.” He tried to smile but it came out more like a weak grimace as he felt his gut start to churn faster.
A moan was ripped from Glacier's mouth and she jerked forward, dry heaves wracking her small body. Beside her Max whimpered curling tighter in a ball, small body lurching with his rebellious stomach.
Behind him, Ajax heard someone else calling his name. Scorch was crying out, painful cramps grabbing his stomach and refusing to let go. However, he was the one calling him. Arctic’s entire body jerked and heaved, quite like Ace’s, blood was spilling from the pup's mouth.
Fear caused adrenaline to push the liquid down Ajax’s throat as he dashed over to the apprentice.
“Ajax, he just started-” Scorch squeezed his eyes shut and a stream of fish filled vomit exploded out of the poor pup’s mouth. He moaned, trying to curl up while still staying wrapped around Arctic as his stomach lurched and cramped. He swallowed thickly, “Just started-” He was once again unable to finish as a cry was ripped from his throat. Tears were falling from his eyes as he struggled to explain what had happened to Ajax.
“Alright, I know. Uhh, he probably has a bleed, probably tore something puking so much,” Ajax stammered, he had never wanted Shard to be here more.
Then, suddenly, as if the spirits had answered his prayers, Blizzard’s voice filled the bus.
“What in all hell happened in here?”
“Oh, spirits!” Rusty cried, hearing the moaning of the students.
“I thought you guys were going on a field trip to the aquarium not to Anthrax Island,” Blizzard said, but concern had creeped into his voice.
The next thirty minutes were spent with Blizzard snapping at humans to move and unloading pups off the bus. Their parents or parent figures were waiting for them. Ajax watched as pups ran to their parents, tears of pain streaming from their eyes, before most of them were sick all over the ground.
Shadow was clearly trying to keep up the facade of being fine, it was shattered the moment he doubled over and emptied his stomach on the ground for what was likely the tenth time today.
The adrenaline started to recede and the only warning before Ajax hunched over and spewed sick all over the grass was a twisting, churning feeling in his gut.
“Told you you should have taken a break,” Atomic laughed, walking up to his boyfriend and brushing his muzzle against his.
“Shut up,” Ajax gasped.
But the clan was safe, the field trip had gone from great to horrible in a matter of seconds, but the clans, as always, had pulled through. They would not be killed by a simple human illness.

Nightshade as a warrior cats kid is perfect. They know all about cross factional drama and soap opera-esque events. They find out about SoundShift and just nod along.
NIGHTSHADE: Like when Whitestripe had been in love with Nettleclaw since they were apprentices but Nettleclaw was devoted to Silverstar who left the Shadeclan to join the Sunclan becoming Silverstream again because she was in love with Redstar. So then Whitestripe and Nettleclaw almost reignited their romance but it was complicated because Whitestripe found out she was having Firefur's kits who she only started courting to make Nettleclaw jealous but then–
MAKESHIFT: [internally while listening] what the heck
SKYWARP: No way! And after Whitestripe gave up taking her medicine cat vows to be with them?!
NIGHTSHADE: Exactly! And since Firefur pushed him off a cliff, Nettleclaw doesn't remember anymore and–
Now I know basically nothing about warrior cats, but from what I do know this makes sense
Makeshift is internally making one of those arrow boards just to keep up with it
And, of course, Skywarp keeps track (wouldn't be surprised if she picks up the books too)
Nighty keeps meticulous track of this, especially since if I got my information right sometimes these books have some decent continuity errors in them which must make things hard

LightningClan Moon 26-37
Moon 26
Cliffpaw gets his warrior name and is now Cliffcrash!
Also, Cliffcrash is hilarious. He's apparently so confident he's full of hubris. He's LITERALLY not the fiercest fighter in the Clan, but yet:
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Cliffcrash's littermate, Puddlepaw, is finally healed, but she is entirely blind as a result of the hare injuring her eyes. It looks like she's working very hard on her warrior training, though, so I think her goal is to still be a warrior (and contrary to what canon says, blind cats can totally perform all the activities that a warrior needs to be able to do), so here's wishing her luck!
Tumblr media
Toadclaw has whitecough
Flutterpaw is now Flutterwhisker, Jackdawpaw is now Jackdawclaw, and Jaggedpaw is now Jaggedfeather! So many new warriors this moon!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A patrol found a cat named Dakota and brought him home. He currently has a broken bone, but if he survives, as per usual, he will get a full warrior name.
Moon 27
So many cats are better! Lightningstar, Toadclaw, Willowtwist, Daisypelt, Blazetail, and Shine are all better!
Shine also gets a warrior name now! He is now officially Shinecloud!
Also, I feel I should note. Our neighbours are BearClan, BrightClan, and BrindleClan. We are currently at war with all of them. Good job everyone.
Jaggedfeather tried to hunt and eagle and got bitten for his efforts.
A loner named Bluff joined the Clan and is now named Bluffbreeze.
Bluffbreeze:
Tumblr media
Also a kittypet named Jewel joined the Clan, and his name is now Jewelbrook.
Jewelbrook:
Tumblr media
AND then a patrol that included Mosaicspots, Bluffbreeze, and Jewelbrook ended up finding a wounded cat named Jackal who, as per usual, will get a full warrior name if she survives. She has a broken jaw.
Jackal:
Tumblr media
Moon 28
LightningClan has claimed some of BrightClan's territory back!
A cat named Lady was found with a broken bone near the Thunderpath. As is Lightningstar's standard, if she survives she will get to have a warrior name.
Lady:
Tumblr media
Moon 29
Apparently the med cats are struggling to keep up with the demands of such a big Clan. There are three kits in the nursery right now, so I imagine they are keeping an eye on them to see if any would make good medicine cat apprentices. I think their eyes are on Oakkit right now, but we'll see how that goes.
Moon 30
Heatherheart was attacked by an eagle. She survived, but is in the medicine den.
Puddlepaw has been made a warrior, finally! Her name is Puddlestrike!
Tumblr media
Jumpdrift was injured in a border dispute with BearClan
Moon 31
Presumably that same eagle also attacked Cliffcrash, who survived and is healing.
Blazetail and Jumpdrift are healed!
Jumpdrift is also expecting kits. Presumably with Heatherheart, her mate (since I have same sex kits turned on)? We'll find out.
Stonekit is now Stonepaw and apprenticed to Grasshopper, Snowkit is now Snowpaw apprenticed to Jackdawclaw, and Oakkit is now Oakpaw, a medicine cat apprentice under Bugdapple!
Stonepaw:
Tumblr media
Snowpaw:
Tumblr media
Oakpaw:
Tumblr media
Snowpaw's going to be a stickler for the rules, I can already tell.
Dakota healed, and got his warrior name, Firefur. Unfortunately, he immediately got whitecough.
Jackal, sadly, died due to infection.
While on patrol, Weedshade was caught in a twoleg trap and stolen. Which. You would think he would know better, given that he was lost this way before, but apparently not.
Fogstripe was injured during a training session which surprised a badger, and his leg has been "mangled" in the ensuing confusion.
Shinecloud was scraped up trying to steal prey from a fox.
Moon 32
Jaggedfeather has whitecough
Shinecloud and Firefur are healed.
The Clan sits vigil for Weedshade, though he is only lost.
Toadclaw's leg was injured in a fight with BrindleClan BECAUSE WE ARE STILL AT WAR WITH ALL OUR NEIGHBOURS ahsdfjkasjdhkl
Moon 33
Heatherheart died from her wounds, which devastated her mate, Jumpdrift. Following this, Jumpdrift pushed her kits away because they look too much like Heatherheart.
The kits are Lilackit, Featherkit, and Snailkit
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Snowpaw fell in the water and has been coughing ever since, but Grasshopper, Jaggedfeather, and Lady are all healed up.
Lady's new name is Hornetstorm!
Tumblr media
Lightningstar picks Jackdawclaw as the next deputy.
On patrol we met a kittypet named Spam
Tumblr media
And a loner named Ponyboy.
Tumblr media
Bluffbreeze's ear was torn by a dog.
Moon 34
Piperfur has greencough, Jewelbrook has yellowcough, and Willowtwist has whitecough
Fogstripe and Cliffcrash have healed, but Cliffcrash has scars from where the eagle tried to carry him off.
Puddlestrike got frostbite from hunting in the snow.
The medicine cats found a tom with kits, which they brought back to camp. The cats are Bitty, now Palefern, Skykit, Silverkit, and Thunderkit (presumably named in reference to the Clan that rescued them).
Palefern:
Tumblr media
Skykit:
Tumblr media
Silverkit:
Tumblr media
Thunderkit:
Tumblr media
Moon 35
Piperfur and Toadclaw are healed.
Jumpdrift continues to not really connect with her kits, though she loves them. It seems that she may have some sort of infection, but I imagine her grief is also impacting this issue.
Cliffcrash has also been stolen by a twoleg trap.
A kittypet named Wisteria has joined the Clan and is now Wisteriadawn
Tumblr media
Moon 36
And this marks the end of year 2!!
Jaggedfeather and Wisteriadawn go out of camp together to watch the moon rise
Puddlestrike's frostbite is healed, as is Willowtwist's whitecough and Jewelbrook's yellowcough
Snowpaw's lungs are permanently damaged from the water that got into them. She is considering whether she should become a mediator apprentice, because that role would require her to exert herself less, but she hasn't decided yet.
Jewelbrook retires and becomes an elder.
I should also poitn out the Mosaicspots is ancient (126 moons)
STONEPAW was lost to a twoleg trap.
A kittypet named Camoflage joines the Clan and becomes Smokeheart
Tumblr media
And as is now tradition... it's the end of the year, and the game's RNG has refused to give me any mates so I'm going to go through and see if we have any new pairings.
Those are:
Jackdawclaw and Piperfur! Our first m/f pairing lol.
Podpelt and Palefern.
Smokeheart and Blazetail.
Fogstripe and Hawkflare.
Firefur and Splashfern.
Hornetstorm and Willowtwist.
Wisteriadawn and Jaggedfeather. Which is sweet, since RNG also decided to say they went on a date earlier!
Puddlestrike and Flutterwhisker. The only queer ship this time around, but also I think these two girls are very cute together, so worth the wait.
Moon 37
Mosaicspots finally becomes an elder
A kittypet name Queso joined the Clan and was renamed Sandblossom!
Tumblr media
and... whooo that's all for the evening!

Her kit following nose to tail, Sunbriar began the gentle ascent down the cliffside. Her paws shaking with nerves with each step onto grass or stone. Above, the clouds were clearing, revealing a full moon.
Beeleg stopped at the edge and watched her friend as she got to the bottom of the cliff, stopping to lick her kit's ear once over, and then look up at her with big, weary eyes. She was just a shape now, no more a cat than her shadow.
Beeleg felt heaviness in her paws, like she always had when coming to this place, leering over the cliffside, feeling the cool spray of rain and the smelling the sharp scent of blood all over again. The moonlight just like all those seasons ago, beaming down over the cliff, never quite catching anything.
Though Sunbriar could not see it, or feel it, or know it, Briarpaw's ghostly figure sat next to her, his tiny body, dripping wet as it always was, watching her with beaming pride. But his gaze soon shifted up to Beeleg, who still was standing on the edge.
"You have to go with her." Goldenpaw said, his star filled pelt appearing twisted below, blood gargling out of his jaws, "I've been waiting for you."
Beeleg jerked away, only now noticing Sunbriar had gotten up the other side. She pulled her kit up the last step by his scruff, watching as he then scurried behind her.
"Beeleg." Sunbriar called, "You can do it. It's only a few steps."
It was only a few steps. But Beeleg's paws felt overgrown and heavy, like she was once again a tiny apprentice, in a clan that no longer existed, but forced into the heavy, tired pelt of cat much older. She was still that tiny apprentice! She could see her standing at the bottom of the cliffside, looking for rabbits. She wanted to yowl out, sob, pull off the allusion of her own fur, and chase the apprentice away.
"Beeleg!" Sunbriar called.
Goldenpaw had climbed to the other side of the cliff and stood next to Sunbriar, as did Briarpaw. Then others appeared: Frogstar, Pinesnout, Flameeye, Firefur, and others- cats she recognized, but she'd never be able to name- and finally, floating down the stars above like a snowflake, Rabbitstripe, all standing side by side with Sunbriar like a protective force.
She called out again.
At camp there were hundreds of cats nesting in dens made for tens, their thinning pelts and holy snouts dedicated to StarClan above, a StarClan that was standing away from them, facing Beeleg instead. Cats that had died, and would let others die. She could see it in her mind, Fernstar standing above the cats that she had made her clan, still standing no matter what StarClan could've done to stop her. These cats, cats that Beeleg was to be fleeing from, were like ants in the lowlands-- one flood would wipe them all out.
Blood, and greencough, and the stink of infection, and a clan without a medicine cat. It hardly was a clan anymore. Rabbitstripe had died for it. Badgerthroat had died for it. It rang in her ears, the monster's last mew, I would never leave my clan without a medicine cat. His brutality, his claws, and he hadn't been willing to rip the throat open of his killer, all to save his clan.
Blood, and greencough, and the stink of the infection, and the mewling of newly born kits, and desperate wails of elders who were not quite ready yet, and the cracking of bones, and all the other things that Beeleg had never wanted, all the things that Beeleg clung to.
How could StarClan leave it all behind?
Sunbriar's meow broke through the noise, crying out, "Beeleg, please."
Beeleg felt her tail thrash, but her paws still couldn't move.
"I have to stay." Beeleg said, "If I don't, who will?"
Sunbriar turned to her kit for a moment, the moonlight embracing them both. When she turned back around, the warmth in her eyes had turned to a glare.
"Your responsibilities, Beeleg?" She said, "Ones that were forced upon you?"
"I cannot leave those cats without a healer." Beeleg replied, hoping to see recognition, "I will train an apprentice, and then I will join you, Sunbriar, but I can't leave--"
"No. You won't." Sunbriar said, "You will return to that clan-- to those cats, and you will take your seat next to Fernstar, as you always have, and you always will, Volepaw."
Sunbriar turned, nudging her kit forward, and disappeared into the darkness of the forest, until even her pawsteps were hidden by the breeze and the distant rushing of the river. StarClan, who had overtaken the land and coated it in the stars, followed her, leaving the sky gray and empty and vast.
Beeleg finally stood alone.

OC Whump Day One: Stomach bug?
Whumpee: Firefur
Ao3 link:
Cold water trickled down Shadow’s face, he glanced up at the clouds beginning to part, making way for the downpour that everyone had been dreading. He was walking to Firefur’s den to get the apprentice for fighter training, he thought about giving him the day off, he had seemed slower than usual the other day and he certainly did not want to train in the pouring rain. But Shadow was a firm believer, not in hard work, but in the fact that young wolves should train until they dropped. Pushing past the lichen that fell from the entrance of the den, Shadow walked up to Firefur saying as he did so, “Come on, it’s raining, we're going to practice fighting in bad weather.”
When Firefur didn’t react Shadow pushed his muzzle into his and snarled, “Get. Up.”
Firefur shifted and raised his head sleepily to meet Shadow’s, “But it’s raining,” He complained softly.
“Yeah, it is. Get up,” Shadow snapped, “We’re training with Rushwind and Scorch.”
“Okay,” Firefur sighed and forced himself to his feet. He inhaled sharply when he stood and staggered, struggling to stay standing.
“No, you’re not getting out of this,” Shadow growled, watching his apprentice uncaringly. “Let’s go,” Shadow turned around and walked to the exit. By now the lichen was dripping with raindrops and the sky had opened up on the forest.
Firefur shook his head, trying to clear the fog that seemed to be pressing in on his senses. Why did everything sound like it was coming from underwater? Suddenly he felt a stab of pain in his stomach. He let out a soft whimper, squeezing his eyes shut, no way he would let Shadow see he was in pain. He’d just get mocked and might get in trouble. Besides, it didn’t hurt that much, he could still train.
However, the moment he took a step it intensified. It felt as if someone had cut his stomach open. He gasped and staggered, everything went black for a moment and agony cut through him.
“Shadow!” He called out quietly, resisting the urge to collapse, curl up into a ball, and start crying.
His master didn’t hear him, even if he had he would have scolded the apprentice for being weak and told him to walk it off.
Firefur took a ragged breath and attempted to walk again, pain flared in his stomach with each step he took but he ignored it as best he could. He forced himself to walk across the slippery clearing. He didn’t see Shadow, he’d likely already made it to the training glade and was just waiting for his apprentice. Firefur knew he’d get in trouble if he didn’t hurry.
Halfway across the clearing pain exploded in his stomach and he felt his legs begin to shake. Nausea rose in his throat and he tried to swallow it down, taking ragged breaths and forcing himself to look through the pain, forcing himself to imagine how much trouble he’d be in if he did not hurry. But he couldn’t, the pain was too great. It felt like acid was rising in his throat, the bitter taste filled his mouth, and his stomach heaved as its contents were spilled onto the ground.
Firefur staggered back, taking shallow, gasping breaths. He felt slightly better, but it didn’t last long. Agony ripped through his stomach again, and he resisted the urge to scream, instead letting out a whimper as tears filled his eyes. He felt his stomach heave again and once more spill its contents on the ground. This time it made it worse.
He was looking through a fog of agony, as his vomiting turned to dry heaving, his stomach having been emptied. Tears fell from his eyes, “Please,” He begged, “Just stop.” He knew it was stupid, no one was listening. Not a single wolf had walked out of their den, the rain was too hard for any of them to notice the apprentice shaking where he stood but forcing himself to stand.
Firefur stood, knives piercing his gut, for what felt like hours. Finally, the agony receded slightly, giving way to a pounding pain. He felt like he was going to collapse, he was exhausted and freezing, every part of his body was shaking and all he wanted to do was curl up into a ball and cry. But he didn’t, Shadow would kill him if he didn’t hurry.
So, every step agonizing, Firefur slowly made his way to the exit of the clan. Hoping with every cell in his body that Scorch wasn’t a very good spring partner.
. . .
It was slow going, with Firefur having to stop every few minutes when pain pounded in his stomach again, but eventually he made it to the clearing where Shadow stood beside Rushwind and Scorch.
“Firefur, hurry up! You’re not getting out of this! Scorch needs a sparring partner,” Shadow shouted, blinking against the rain.
Scorch, standing beside his master, looked extremely excited to spar. His eyes were glowing and, the normally calm wolf, was practically jumping up and down. “Come on, Firefur, I wanna see if I can beat you!” He shouted in excitement.
Firefur forced himself to raise his head and walk faster, even as he felt his stomach turn and pain began to flare. “I’m coming,” He choked out.
Scorch ran out to the muddy clearing, grinning and waiting for his sparring partner.
Firefur walked over to him, every movement felt like a claw digging into him, but he had to do this. He couldn’t show weakness in front of his master.
“You ready?” Scorch asked cheerfully, dropping into a fighting crouch, tail wagging above his head almost comically.
Firefur swallowed another wave of nausea, “Yep,” He forced himself to say.
Off to the side Ruswind was frowning, “Does he look ill to you?” She asked Shadow.
“He’s fine,” Shadow responded gruffly, “Fight!” He shouted to the apprentices.
Scorch leaped at Firefur. Out of nowhere, it felt as if a vial of acid had broken in his stomach. Scorch landed on the other apprentice and knocked him to the ground. Firefur barely knew what was going on anymore, the moment he hit the ground the pain turned into a tearing agony. He felt like his entire stomach was on fire. Tears swelled in his eyes again and he curled up into a ball, a futile attempt to keep the pain at bay. Nausea swept over him, and his stomach heaved again. This time blood spilled from his mouth, accomiped by a cramping agony. He cried out in pain, tears rolled down his face, he tried to curl up tighter but it only made it worse.
Scorch leapt back, immediately recognizing that something was wrong. “Rushwind!” He cried, looking back at the masters, but Shadow was already rushing forward.
“Firefur, what did you do?” He snarled, running over to his apprentice.
“No-nothing,” Firefur choked out, before letting out a cry of pain. “It hurts! Please!” He begged.
“Shut up!” Shadow snapped, then spinning around to Rushwind, “Go get Shard, now!”
Rushwind nodded, “Scorch, come on!”
Shadow turned back to Firefur, “Why didn’t you tell me?” He demanded.
Firefur cried out as pain ripped through his stomach, “I-I didn’t want you to be angry!” He wailed.
“Firefur, I’m not going to be angry if you’re not faking,” Shadow said, his voice sounding strained, “I should have noticed,” He added, sounding furious at himself.
Firefur felt his stomach heave again and blood emptied from his mouth, the cramping pain flared even more. He hadn’t known it was possible for anything to hurt this much.
Shadow didn’t know what to do. He had never been the best at comforting anyone, but Firefur was clearly in agony and he had no idea how to help.
Firefur took a ragged breath, shuddering heaves wracking his small body. “Okay, uh, Shard will be here soon, just hold on.,” Shadow stammered. That was the last thing Firefur remembered before succumbing to the darkness at the edges of his vision.
. . .
“Firefur?” His sister’s soft voice floated to his ears, “Are you awake?” Moonfur asked gently.
“Yeah,” Firefur rasped weakly, not opening his eyes, his head was pounding and he didn’t want to make it worse.
“Are you still in pain?” Moonfur asked, Firefur felt her move closer to him, felt her warmth envelope him as she curled up next to him.
Firefur swallowed, the pain in his stomach had been reduced to a dull throb but the rest of his body ached, every small movement causing him to flinch. “Yeah,” He repeated, trying to move his mouth as little as possible.
“Soreness or stabbing pain?” Moonfur asked calmly.
“Soreness,” Firefur muttered, he was already exhausted again.
“That should get better soon, your body exerted all its energy yesterday vomiting.” Moonfur said quietly, moving closer to her brother in an attempt to comfort him.
“Is Shadow mad?” Firefur asked, a note of worry inching into his voice.
“No,” Moonfur assured him quickly, “He’s mostly mad at himself for not noticing. He was in here a few minutes ago but Blizzard called him to hunt, I think he wanted to give him something to distract himself with before he hurt someone.”
Firefur sighed with relief and seemed to relax, “What was wrong with me?” He asked softly.
Moonfur shook her head, “Shard thinks you had a stomach bug, but he doesn't really know.”
Firefur felt himself fading back to sleep, “Thanks Moonfur,” He muttered before letting the comfort of sleep take over. He hoped Shadow hadn’t beat himself up too much.

last warrior, Aldernose!
as you can see, Alder is missing their front leg. It is NOT from an injury, actually! they were born with it!
their leg was missing from birth; her mother having some complications with their birth. And with the pregnancy, in general. Though born without a leg, they were alive. And that’s what mattered to her parents the most.
any cats who wanted to gossip about her were immediately shut down by their mother, and soon the leader. They were not going to let their daughter be gossiped about because of a missing leg she was born with. And because of this, her mom tended to get in fights with other cats—eventually being wounded for life because of this.
they didn’t need to fight for her apprenticeship, she immediately made a warriors apprentice as soon as they were old enough. Under the deputy of the clan, Sootface, no less! So, they trained as a normal warrior until old enough to become one. Named aldernose for her wonderful hunting skills. Sootface is quite proud of his apprentice, as is Squirrelstar, and their parents—Salmonleg and Firefur (whom passed on from sickness). They are also aroflux and asexual, just forgot to add flags! Demigirl as well :)

@xjitenshax asked: SPOTS TO KISS + [15] -  a kiss on the jawline. @firefurred @ vlad <3
❈ --- A soft hum rumbled in the vampire’s throat as lips pressed to the cool flesh of his jaw. Arms that held the kitsune tightened, bringing him closer against him as they both lie in bed with the moonlight filtering through the drapes and casting a glow in the room.
“A final goodnight kiss?” He inquired, an eye fluttering open to glance at James. A soft, sleepy smile grew on his face and now he gazed upon the other male with adoration. “Keep that up and I’ll want more...”
