favorite hockey father adopted son relationship
three cities you think deserve a team in the future
create your own hockey awards what would the first award be and who would you give it to?
12. favorite hockey father adopted son relationship
this is a difficult one because it is such a common and also . good dynamic. old man pavs and my comrade wyatt a good candidate but i think i have to go with ultimate dilf john tavares and his children mitchy and matt knies. about to make a controversial statement but i think notorious worm corey perry and notorious firecracker connor bedard are about to have THE sickest and twistedest evil parent/evil child dynamic
19. three cities you think deserve a team in the future
i wont say qc because frankly it's been said far too much but. here we go
atlanta . 3rd time will work i promise. not to praise the nhl but their two new expansion teams have actually done a REALLY good fucking job, not necessarily out of building a competent roster (i mean, vegas absolutely has done that and seattle looks alright so far) but by marketing the game and team to its city. i want whatever lone competent nhl management committee has done that to go back to atlanta. cmawn. please. please. please
houston . i understand the stars' current shtick is that they are the one team for the whole of texas but i firmly believe there's one thing better than being united through hockeyloving and that's SPORTS RIVALRY!!!!!!!. back to trashing the nhl: now that both the lightning and cats are allegedly good or at least competent they should market the hell out of the battle of florida. and you know what? they do not do that. houston v dallas though? texans are the albertans of america so you know they would be immediately down to watch a rivalry in the Sport Where You Are Allowed To Fistfight.
toronto (bear with me). what does the league have? an abundance of canadian fans all of whom seem to hate the leafs but most of whom live near toronto anyway. easy solution: give them a second team in the area thats not american (ew sabres) not out in Fucking Kanata (sorry sens) and that you can also conveniently market a battle of the centre of the universe . or something. it's always about the leafs !!
23. create your own hockey awards. what would be the first award and who would you give it to?
the bill barilko award for most iconically cursed player. current finalists are of course quinnifer himself and mcdavo. think i have to give it to connor atm tho considering. The Events.

On Doc Watching The Bear
Welcome to day four of Eight Days of Content! I hope you’ve been enjoying thus far.
Today is Dealer’s Choice, where from your pitches, I pick the one that appeals most to me. The choice was narrowed down to four, and then two, and then, honestly, I picked The Bear over A Place to Call Home because I can obtain the Bear easily with what I already have. Sometimes, this is how it is on this bitch of an earth.
But! It spared me from having to make the difficult choice, they both sound up my alley. Here is the pitch for The Bear:
An award-winning chef from a fine dining restaurant has to return home  to run the family sandwich shop after this brother’s death. This means  the show is basically about food and grief, which I know are two of your favourite topics.
lol you spell favorite with a u, how cringe for you*.
So, because this is one of the few shows this Eight Days I haven’t seen at all, or even heard of, let’s review the details:
Please don’t spoil me! I love getting to watch things with no idea of what’s going on, and you can help by not confirming, denying, or explaining anything!
If you’d like to chit-chat, there is the Discord!
If you’d like to follow it or block it, the tag is: Doc watches The Bear
*Because it occurs to me now that people have no sense of humor: I’m joking, I just like giving ~The Commonwealth**~ hell, as is the sacred duty of every American.
**I actually find the true definition of the Commonwealth, not just me making fun of the UK/Canada/Australia***/You get me, to be DEEPLY confusing as apparently it’s not just formerly colonized countries? Me and @ariadnearca were roaming around Glasgow trying to parse it out and apparently it’s like The UK’s Magical Friendship Club?
***Wait does Australia use extraneous vowels too? I would have said yes, but now I don’t believe myself. Canada both does, and does not. I think they do officially but my Albertan ex sure as shit spelled it favorite. Canada is an extremely strange nation, I love it so much.

What is your favorite era of music and why? Not TME or BB related but I’m still curious because you seem like a very interesting person.
this is so funny you can ask me whatever you want to it doesnt have to be fic related !! thank you for thinking i am a very interesting person tho jshdjsn
idk if i have a fav era ngl! sometimes i listen to 40s love songs and sometimes i listen to 1600s orchestral and sometimes i listen to 90s rock and sometimes i listen to 1800s opera and sometimes i listen to stuff that got released like yesterday [stream im so hot by chrissy], kinda just depends on the vibes im after! my parents were the kind of people to just blast random shit (dad had german sea shanties, gregorian chants, bluegrass, coal miners songs, and lady gaga to name a few, mum was into albertan country, cesária evora, sting, david grey, and fiddling in churches) so i think it's really just! whatever sounds good :)

super original here: Din?
mr. mando daddy himself
favorite thing about them
Is Din the darkest SW character? Not by a long shot. Is he still violent and protective and morally grey as fuck? YOU BET, and I love that.
least favorite thing about them
Guy would absolutely fall for the "if you look up the word gullible in the dictionary there's a picture of your face" prank. He gets taken for a ride by literally every character he meets.
favorite line
"If you put one mark on him there is no place you will be able to hide from me."
brOTP
BobaDin, every day, every hour. every minute.
OTP
Dinluke primarily but close second Dincobb these days
nOTP
Dincara just doesn't salt my apples, though I'm open to seeing if the recasting of Cara does anything for me
random headcanon
Din's absolutely demisexual and also a virgin. The first time he hooks up with someone, whether it's one of the many gorgeous ladies of the SW universe, Cobb "My Whole Town Wants to Fuck Me" Vanth, or perfect, radiant, angelic, can-sense-your-pleasure-through-the-Force-to-give-you-the-best-orgasm-ever Luke Skywalker, Din crumbles like an Albertan road. Lasts four seconds, tops. But is so incredibly feral after 30-something odd years of rarely nutting ever that he's ready to go again before his tears have even rolled to the bottom of his cheeks. Bro is pent UP.
unpopular opinion
Honestly, Din kind of... bores me. Idk, compared to the dozens of other magical, alien, and straight up insane characters in the SW universe, Din kind of falls short. Fanon Din is vastly more interesting, and I personally can't credit Lucasfilm for that. Their Din is the butter sandwich to fanon Din's glorious meatball footlong sub.
song i associate with them
Baby Shark and every other terrible, migraine-inducing baby song that modern Grogu absolutely listens to on repeat all day every day.
favorite picture of them
Worried daddy!

I torment myself by headcanoning my favorite Link with a New Yorker accent even though I'm from New England. Anyways what do you make of this information
Well first of all. Who is your favourite Link. because that makes or breaks the accent jzmskam.
Second of all. Iconic. i whole heartedly agree with giving the Link’s accents.
for example my TP Link has a Canadian farmer accent, specifically manitoban or albertan. My BotW Link has an improper English accent, think Eggsy from Kingsmen. lol!

CIGAR LOUNGES ARE COMING TO ALBERTA....MAYBE?
Tumblr media
NEW PROVINCIAL LEGISLATION COMES INTO EFFECT ALLOWING CIGAR LOUNGES JULY 31, BUT SOME WANT THAT SNUFFED OUT.
Cigar aficionados in Alberta have something to look forward to. The province announced that cigar lounges would be exempt in new smoking and vaping legislation to come into effect July 31, 2021. That is assuming the provincial government does not change its mind.
The new law would allow cigar lounges to operate subject to certain conditions:
No minors would be allowed
No food, drink, or cleaning services would be allowed in the smoking room during hours of operation
A separate ventilation system from the rest of the establishment.
Walls must go from the floor to the ceiling to separate the lounge
Naturally, anti-smoking advocates are outraged at this new exemption. Angeline Webb, with the Canadian Cancer Society, told CBC Edmonton "We believe it's a very regressive reversal of 13 years of effective public health policy that protects the public and particularly hospitality workers' from exposure to second-hand smoke. The allowance of smoking in cigar lounges serves the desires of a few." Les Hagen, with Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), told CTV Edmonton “It came out of left field and it’s disturbing. Alberta should be continuing to lead the way in reducing tobacco use, improving the health of Albertans and improving health outcomes.” It is obvious that anti-smoking groups are speaking out against this new law. Cigar lovers inside and outside Alberta need to start speaking up in favor of lounges to enjoy our favorite pastime.
The risk of brothers and sisters of the leaf not speaking loudly in favor of this new exemption is that the Alberta government will walk this back. Under premier Jason Kenney, the province has done that at least twice with its policies since his United Conservative Party came into power in 2019.
The first time was in December 2020 when the UCP government backed down on a plan to close and delist provincial parks to save money. Outraged Albertans had hounded the government for months to change its mind. The second time was in February 2021 when the province initially proposed to allow open-pit coal mining along the Rocky Mountains which which would have gone against policy dating back to 1976. That idea was also scrapped due to public outrage. It is conceivable the same could happen with cigar lounges if Kenney and his government feel enough heat from the public.
This is why it is important that if you are a cigar lover in Alberta, you should contact your Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) to let that person know you support this new legislation. Let us prove to Angeline Webb and people like her that cigar lounges serve more than a few lovers of the leaf. Cigar lounges can create jobs and be part of the post-pandemic recovery.

Best Non-Studio Hanson Tracks
(In no particular order)
Troublemaker - Billboard’s Mashup Mondays Sessions // This is definitely a favorite. It sounds nothing like the original and I think that’s a good thing? I like the original, don’t get me wrong, but this is like a whole different song and I love that fact so much. Go in with an open mind, there are some... interesting, I think is a good word. Interesting lyric changes, but it’s not enough to ruin the song.
Kiss Me When You Come Home - Tay’s Music Exchange // This song was one of my favorites already, but this version is so much closer to the way I remember hearing the song at the Stand Up, Stand Up EP recording. It’s a little bit more calming than the studio version, but doesn’t sacrifice the wonderful piano solo in the process of stripping it down.
Hey - Underneath Acoustic // Why is this not on YouTube????? This is far superior to the album version, even if you only base it off that bit with the jump to a higher note near the end that ISN’T INCLUDED IN THE STUDIO VERSION, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING HANSON?????
Strong Enough To Break - Strong Enough To Break // This one took some thought, I almost equally love the Underneath Acoustic version. The deciding factor was that this version showcases their voices just that much more. There’s something about the more stripped down sound it has, as well as the abrupt ending, that resonates with me in a way other versions of this song don’t.
Runaway Run - Chicago, IL 10-13-2013 // I’m so bummed that I didn’t have the chance to experience this one in person, but thanks to some amazing fans, it’s available to listen to on YouTube. This is the best version of this song, in my opinion. It’s got all the beauty of the Underneath Acoustic Live version, but somehow it’s better? I’m a sucker for songs that showcase Tay’s piano playing and this is an amazing example of why.
Gimme Some Lovin’/Shake A Tail Feather - Live From Albertane // Hanson are the kings of good opening songs, and this is a top tier example. The way they manage to amp up the crowd, the adlibs, and the way they manage to make the two songs work so well together, get me every time. Also, I challenge any fan to listen and not say the “It is great to be here in Seattle” bit along with Taylor.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Razorblade - The Best Of Hanson: Live & Electric // I’m still bummed this song never made it onto one of their main studio albums but this version makes up for a lot. The piano breakdown is something I didn’t know I needed until I heard it, and Taylor whining his way through the adlibs gives me a very specific brand of life.
Something Going Round - Anthem: Live In New York // Okay I love every single live version of this song I’ve ever heard but this is a standout. Not only are the boys completely on point (Zac’s drumming makes me so hyped up I want to take on world hunger by myself), the audience gives 110% when it’s their turn to sing. I blast this song in the car and hope people hear it and wonder “Who is this band that has such a cool fanbase?”
Thinking Of You - 5 Of 5 // This song has stood the test of time, and this version just shows how their voices dropping was the exact opposite of the problem critics were predicting way back when. This one shows that you don’t need to change a song to make it just as good 13 years after release.
Me Myself And I - String Theory // This song was amazing to begin with (if you don’t believe me, @changecanbebittersweet has talked about it already), but this version is even better. First of all, the fact that they re-recorded the vocals so it’s split between all three brothers, adds depth I wasn’t expecting. Additionally, the song’s pacing is better. While I loved it originally, having the same vocalist sing so many verses made it feel longer; this version just *feels* like a perfect length. Secondly, this song feels like it was written to have the orchestra and somehow it was released as a demo by mistake on Shout It Out. The strings are just so flawlessly integrated it makes you wonder why you didn’t realize it needed strings in the first place.
On The Rocks - The Walk Acoustic Live // I had a discussion once about this song, and without my prompting, the other person made the comment of this being the superior version. I had been nagging people about that opinion for a long time prior to that conversation and I’m still thrilled someone else gets the perfection of this track. There’s just something about how Zac sings “We’re gonna fight” that gives me chills every single time I hear it.
Use Me Up - Stand Up, Stand Up EP // I’ve had so many conversations about why I only listen to this version and they all boil down to two things: 1) the simplicity makes the song and 2) there’s one tiny little lyric change that ended up happening in the Shout It Out version that changed how the song hits and I refuse to give up this version.
Dirrty - Underneath Acoustic 2003 Tour // I don’t have anything to say about this except that it’s fucking hot and I would pay so much money to hear a full version of it.
Thinking ‘bout Somethin’ - ABC Greatest Hits // This one is perfect ‘cause Echosmith brought something to the table that I didn’t even realize was needed until I heard it. Also the video is adorable, Sydney of Echosmith just seems so happy to be playing with Hanson and I love it.
Hold On I’m Coming - National Post Music // While I’m sad that Zac wasn’t able to sing as much for this performance, the other boys doing his parts ended up sounding amazing. Also, I’m a sucker for the little interaction between Zac and Tay when Tay hits that high note.
Summertime Blues - Japan // This is amazing but I think I’d rather use this space to talk about how funny I find it that they sang this (very American, omg the lyrics are about the struggle of American teenagers) song for something recorded in Japan????? Why, Hanson?????
Lost Without You - Anthem: Live In New York // This song puts me in a very indescribable mindset, and I think part of what I love about this version is that the ending pulls me back to reality in the best way possible. The “I could be the one that you’re holding on to” outro just makes this version for me.
Where’s The Love - String Theory // Holy harmonies, Batman. As @tragic---love said, this song got the best glow up of all the songs from this album. I also think this falls into the same category as Thinking Of You for “songs that have stood the test of time”; this version takes a song that’s still amazing, and somehow makes it BETTER.
Waiting For This - Stand Up, Stand Up EP // I’m not sure why I prefer this version to the Shout It Out version, but I do. Maybe it’s the energy? I think this one feels more positive than the studio version? I’m not sure but I listen to this one almost exclusively. I also say the “You can’t deny it until you try it” bit every time I hear any version of it, you can pry those lyrics from my cold, dead hands.
Cecilia - Albany, NY 10-16-2009 // Even with almost the entire tour being sick with the flu, this performance was amazing. I had the good fortune of being at this show (the linked video is my footage), and I still listen to this one a lot. I’m realizing as I read this back to edit it, I’m Team Hanson Singing Older Folk Songs.
Teach Your Children - Underneath Acoustic Live // There’s something about the harmonies in the second verse that gives me chills every single time I hear this song. There’s also the added personal bit where this is the song that turned my mother into a fan.
Underneath - Underneath Acoustic // WHY DID THEY DITCH THE HARMONICA ON THE STUDIO VERSION?????????????? I literally can’t stand the studio version, but this version is one of my favorite Hanson songs of all time. I also need to draw attention to how amazing they sound when they sing “something missing”, it’s like I’m in the horrible relationship, they sing it with so much emotion.
Rip It Up - Underneath Acoustic Live // I need more Ike singing old school rock ‘n’ roll more often, this song is a blessing and I’m grateful for it on the daily.
Breaktown - Leaked Demo // I have talked about this before, but I’ll forever be bitter that this wasn’t released with Underneath, Taylor’s voice was absolutely perfect for it at that point and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this one over the years.
Madeline - Middle Of Nowhere Acoustic // There’s a place in my heart reserved only for the ending “woah”s of this song, and getting to hear them in the stripped down, more mature, version made me so happy. This song was so well written to begin with, and they make it even better when they play it acoustically, and this performance is the best example of that fact.
Save Me - Anthem: Live In New York // I love the piano driven sound of this track, and this performance just emphasized that part of it. I also love the “yeah” that Tay adds after the second “yes I’m wrong” for some reason, catch me singing it passionately alone in my room at 3 am.
Crazy Beautiful - Underneath Acoustic Live // #BringBackThisVersionOfCrazyBeautifulNextTour
Good Lovin’ - Jack Frost Soundtrack // I have heard other bands cover this song and every time it pales in comparison to this performance. It’s short but it never feels short? And I end up in such a good mood after listening to it.
Magic Carpet Ride - At The Fillmore // I remember coming across more recent performances of them doing this song and I’m forever disappointed ‘cause this recording just had something about it that they haven’t recaptured on recent tours. If you watch the video, there’s a girl in a white tank top, going balls-to-the-wall throughout the whole song, and I just relate so much.
With You In Your Dreams - 5 Of 5 // When Taylor talked about how they pictured this song with a choir, I was skeptical at first but holy crap the audience vocals just make it that much better. I also get chills when Zac yells “Like you mean it!” every damn time.

Everyone who’s like “oooo Gabriel’s weird around Aziraphale because they’re EXES” I hate to break it to you but that’s not ex energy, that’s “straight guy badly disguising his homophobia beneath a thin veneer of politeness because this is a professional environment and the gay guy is the boss’ favorite” energy
Gabriel says “fair enough” at least twice per day. Gabriel has never started speaking without interrupting someone ever in his life. Gabriel is ALWAYS trying to explain the “genius of breaking bad” to you. Gabriel listens to matchbox twenty. Gabriel owns fifteen pairs of identical white socks. Gabriel is every single one of my shitty albertan cousins, but especially the one who once shook my hand way too hard at my grandma’s 90th birthday party and crushed all my fingers together and I still don’t know why he thought that shaking the hand of a relative he’d already met a million times was, like, a normal thing to do

Here are 51 reasons why Alberta & Saskatchewan would enjoy better lives as citizens of a U.S. state.
1. No more French language
Say goodbye to French on signs, products, government documents. No more French taught in schools. No more being greeted in French when you speak to customer service.
2. Free to travel to sunny states for as long as you want
Want to live in Florida, Arizona, or Maui for a while without raising eyebrows with U.S. border patrol or risk being double-taxed by IRS & CRA?
3. 2nd Amendment rights
The right to bear arms is an inalienable right ingrained in the U.S. Constitution, which can't be taken away. In Constitutional Carry states, you can even carry a concealed firearm without permits or red tape. In Canada, you will just have to watch your family get mowed down by bad guys.
4. Donald Trump
You get the ultimate leader of the people, a non-stop machine who works for you 20hrs a day instead of Trudeau who uses you to fund his vacation.  You get an alpha male leader you can be proud of & truely loves his country instead of a sissy.
5. Protection from US military
You get the full protection of the Pentagon and its 1.3 million active duty personnel.
6. Safety of US dollar
You'll be earning US dollars which are the world's stable, standard currency and a safe haven of investment.
7. 1st Amendment
The right to free speech is ingrained in the U.S. Constitution. You are free to speak your mind without being fined or jailed for offending people.
8. Benefit from economies of scale
320 million people create a lot more buying power than 35 million. That's why prices of consumer goods and services tend to be better in the U.S. That's also why the U.S. has better infrastructure.
9. Better postal service
USPS is thriving in the digital age while Canada Post is cutting services to stay afloat. Order something cross country and USPS has it to you in 3 days or less at a fraction of the cost of Canada Post.
10. More banking options
You get a multitude of banking options rather than being stuck with Canada's banking oligopoly.
11. More phone & cable plan options
You get more choice of carriers and greater coverage in the States. Plans are usually cheaper as well.
12. More electronics, lower prices
There is so much more competition in the home electronics/appliances industries that it keeps prices lower in the U.S. than in Canada.
13. Cheaper car insurance
Car insurance tends to be about 40-50% lower in the U.S. than in Canada. Again, it's probably due to a larger economy of scale.
14. More famous restaurant franchises
You favorite U.S. restaurant chains will be more eager to operate north of the 49th when they're not faced with Canada's over-regulation of food, language and labor.
15. More affordable air transportation
How come you can fly from Phoenix to Las Vegas for $50 but flying from Calgary to Vancouver (same distance) is $200?
16. Better quality groceries, more choice
While Canada only has two big grocery companies that control 90% of the market, the U.S. has a multitude of options. With greater competition comes better quality and more options.  Also, many great food companies in the U.S. won't export to Canada because of the cost of complying with Canada's food and labelling regulations.
17. Don’t pay duties for online shopping
Let's face it, all the good stuff online is shipped from the States. Then it gets dinged for up to 35% by Canada Customs when it comes in. This won't happen when Alberta is a U.S. state.
18. Won’t get made uncompetitive by Carbon Tax
Canada's obsession with climate change has mandated a carbon tax that is about to render its industrial output unable to compete with countries that haven't fallen for this hoax.
19. Won’t get made uncompetitive by new US import taxes
Trump is going to play hardball on trade. When he has leverage, he will use it to the advantage of the USA. He will start making Canada pay for the protection it gets from Uncle Sam, and if Canada won't pay, he'll make it up on increased tariffs.
20. Tougher justice system
The prime minister of Canada doesn't even think terrorists should lose their citizenship. Canada is a very liberal country that is soft on criminals in hopes that they can be rehabilitated. Meanwhile, very bad people are walking our streets.
21. Fewer refugees
Trump is proposing a total, temporary pause on refugees coming into the US until they figure out a way to vet them properly. Canada is simply an open borders country that will invite in as many refugees as it can to prove a point about how liberal it is.
22. Melting Pot, not Salad Bowl
The United States with its melting pot culture encourages immigrants to assimilate into English-speaking American culture. Canada encourages immigrants to maintain the cultural identities and customs of the home countries. This creates a lot of tension and a lack of shared identity in Canadian society.
23. Military industrial complex creates jobs
There is no arguing with the fact that the U.S. military industrial complex, with its world-leading innovation and massive productive capacity generates a tremendous amount of jobs and economic output. Canada's is nearly non-existent by comparison.
24. More diverse economy than Canada’s oil & health
Canada has put all its eggs in the oil and health care industries. This lack of diversity is very risky, as witnessed after the fall of oil prices. All the brightest minds in Canada who aren't working in oil or health move to the States to work in other industries.
25. Get to vote for President, not just watch
No longer will Albertans have to just sit on the sidelines and watch Americans elect the leader of the Free World.
26. Get a national culture & identity (vs “post-national”)
Americans have a strong sense of shared identity, cultural practices and values. Canada's leaders have declared it a "post-national" country, having no single shared identity. This encourages Canadians to stay in their ethnic cliques rather than work together like Americans do.
27. America first vs. globalism
Alberta will become part of America; a country now lead by those who put American priorities ahead of matters abroad. Canada is becoming the last bastion of globalism and makes domestic matters take a back seat to "virtuous" acts of saving people in faraway lands.
28. U.S. conservative values align with Alberta's
Canada's political spectrum is sharply to the left of the United States. The Conservative Party of Canada would be to the left of the Democrats if it was part of the U.S. Alberta keeps voting conservative which means it belongs in a more right-oriented political system like the U.S.
29. No more monarchy
Americans had the balls to evict the Crown 240 years ago, while Canada is still appeasing the Royals.
30. Access to better quality health care
You probably know at least five people who have had to go the the U.S. for serious health procedures. Most affluent Canadians go to the States for procedures. Why would any good doctors want to work in Canada's socialist health care system, when they can live in the States, make more money and work with the best technology?
31. Shorter wait times for operations
No more waiting days in a hospital corridor to get your rupturing appendix removed!
32. Might get an NFL franchise
Sure, you love your CFL teams, but wouldn't it be more exciting if your local franchise was NFL?
33. Help MAGA
You get to apply your energy to making America great again, instead of being trapped in a socialist country where your blood, sweat, and tears (and tax dollars) go to a leftist government that makes terrible decisions which work against you.
34. Be proud of your country again
There has never been a better time to be American. Those who support MAGA are walking with pride as their country is rebuilt, while Albertans walk with hunched shoulders, not proud of the country that mocks and exploits it.
35. Don’t have to feel second class around Americans anymore
You will be a first class, American citizen rather than being teased about being from wimpy Canada, eh?
36. Earning $USD, you can go to BC and shop/vacation in CAD pesos
When Alberta becomes part of the U.S. and Albertans are earning $USD, they will be able to go to BC for cheap cross-border shopping and holidays because the $CAD will be worth less than $0.50 $USD.
37. Elected Senate
You'll get to elect your senators rather than having them appointed by the elites.
38. State that treats you like grown up, not a nanny
Albertans are freedom-loving people. Why should they be over-regulated and talked down to by a government that thinks it knows what's best for its people and treats them like babies? The American society treats you like a grown up by default.
39. No more CBC
No more of your tax dollars going to support the government-backed Canadian Brainwashing Corporation.
40. No more forced CanCon
You will no longer be forced to ingest watered down versions of Netflix, Pandora, iTunes or having to listen to Nickelback, Bieber, or Alanis 50% of the time by law. No more government-funded shows like Little Mosque on the Prairie.
41. No more draining equalization payments
Less of your hard-earned dollars will go to buying beer and cigarettes for unemployed Quebecers.
42. No more government in absentia
The ruling government in Ottawa currently only has 4 MPs from Alberta. Alberta voted conservative and now has almost zero representation in government. This is complete political alienation.
43. Lower corporate tax better for small business
Trump is proposing dropping corporate tax to 10-15%. This will give American small business a major boost and Canada's small businesses will be unable to compete.
44. No longer lagging 8 years behind the US
Isn't it frustrating to have to repeat the same historical mistakes as the U.S., 8 years later? Canada elected its Obama (Trudeau) just on the eve of America rejecting him.
45. Lower gas tax
Gas taxes are lower in the U.S.
46. Lower liquor tax
Liquor is taxed at a lower rate in the U.S., too. Why pay more tax if you don't have to?
47. Won’t be trapped in Canada by a plunging Loonie
When America steps up their economic & trade games to a whole new level, the Loonie is going to be driven down by so much money flowing from Canada to the U.S. This will hurt Canadians' ability to buy vacations, real estate and consumer goods from the US.
48. Your children will have more job opportunities
America's economic diversity, military industrial complex, and world-leading innovation provide orders of magnitude more opportunity than Canada's narrow oil & health focus. By the time your children are old enough to join the workforce, Trump will have made America even stronger with even more opportunities, which will dwarf Canada. With Alberta part of the U.S., your children won't have to leave to get jobs.
49. Your children will have more education options
As U.S. citizens, your children will benefit from having the choice of hundreds of great American colleges and universities where they can make great connections with the leaders of tomorrow, rather than being marginalized nobodies who graduated from some unknown Canadian school.
50. Cheaper to heat your home with no CO2 tax
No more having to choose between heating vs. eating in the frigid winter months.
51. Never be ruled by another Trudeau!
Nothing needs to be said about this one.
Feel free to copy n paste, I did.
