I am Lebanese. I used to be really white washed when I was a kid. I used to wish I was completely Australian and not have any Lebanese in me at all.
Just recently have I started embracing my culture and heritage as a Lebanese woman and I dreamed of visiting Lebanon again so I could absorb what I missed out on appreciating as a child. The language, the history, the food, the people.
Israel is currently bombing Lebanon as well as Palestine and Syria. This isn’t the beginning, but it’s scary. People have died/been injured, including children. I fear that the country that I used to not acknowledge as my native land, the country that I now hold so much respect and love for, the country that I wanted to come back to after I graduated so that I could finally embrace my rich culture, will be reduced to rubble.
To my Arab friends, Israel is already counting on people to forget and be apathetic about their actions. They spread lies and hatred about the Middle East and its people. They terrorise the inhabitants, steal their land, destroy their homes and try to cleanse them of their ethnicity. If Israel is already doing all this to try and eradicate our history and culture, we cannot assist them in this process.
Be proud about who you are, now more than ever. Be loud. Be irritating. Be the flies in their ear, they already see us as insects. Don’t ever be ashamed of where you come from, who you are. Your culture, values and beliefs are instilled in you from the moment you are born and are attacked the moment you are born. Keep them close to your heart because you have a heart, a functional one. One that feels empathy, compassion, kindness, love, joy, appreciation. In a world where these things are in such short supply, they are more valuable than ever.
Be MENA and proud in a world that tries to tear you down from the moment you rise.
Free Palestine.

If you’re ever struggling to think of comments that won’t shadow ban “political” content, just ask something open-ended while being “playfully controversial”. Examples below:
“What color notebooks do you all use for sience? I use orange”
“What do you all drink on a hot day? I drink a lot of hot chocolate”
“What temperature makes socks and sandals justifiable?”
“Do you all set your toilet paper towards you or the wall? I sit mine on top of the holder.”

Graphic design artist Moataz Abu Sakran/ @moatazart has provided extensive documentation of the genocide against Gaza. His photos and videos have been used—often without credit—by major media outlets, and his posts are featured on this blog regularly.
Moataz and his wife and baby girl are trapped in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital complex. The area has was under complete siege for 13 days, and made life even more difficult and dangerous than before. In addition to the physical violence of the siege, the occupation’s famine has made food extremely scarce—Moataz and Mariam can no longer find milk and nutritious food for baby Maria.
They were able to raise enough funds to begin the paperwork involved in evacuating to Egypt, but exorbitant processing fees have totally depleted the money they had reserved to find a place to stay in Egypt. They need funds to procure food and shelter while they rebuild their lives in Egypt (God willing), otherwise they will be homeless and destitute.
There was an increase in donations after we initially shared the link on this blog. We are hoping that will happen again. Please support Moataz’s family via this link so that they can reach safety. Even just a few dollars will help. If you can’t donate, please share the link on all your social media accounts.
This is the primary link to donate and share. You can copy and paste it onto other posts and social media sites.
If the primary link does not work, try this link

lmao the worst thing about being Palestinian is you’ll be fucking grieving and you are STILL expected to articulate all your thoughts in the most coherent manner IN ENGLISH and have at least 25 citations backing up any point you make, even if you’re just talking about the way you are feeling . otherwise the west is just going to paint you as a barbarian

What makes me extremely sad is that we are all trying to do what we can to find Mansour, someone who was helping by having an organization there and is also Canadian so they can get legal help from Canada to find him. However there are so many Palestinians missing and it's like, they are all deserving to be found.and another example is Lama who is a 9 year old Palestinian and is now the youngest reporter there and ppl are reaching out extra to get her out of there. Idk if this makes sense. It's not the "we shouldn't do that for them because they aren't much different than the others there" it's more of
" there are just far too many and we don't know their names and what they do aside of the fact they are going through the same thing, and we can't provide them all that same extra treatment to get them out as well"
Like yes! Let's do what we can to help Lama and Mansour! But we need to remember there's another 9 year old girl out there too, who's not a reporter, a little boy who shares his drink with his friend, a mother who makes desserts to keep her kids happy, a guy pulling out water from his tent with a small bucket, all who are just trying to survive just as much. Who is deserving to get that help just as much.
And it just feels like the government would just pick and choose who is worthy. THEY ALL ARE.
It's frustrating, it's sad, it's heartbreaking.idk if this makes sense.

TW// SA, RACISM, ISLAMOPHOBIA AND DEATH THREATS
I know I’m not supposed to interact with Zionists, but I did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was on a post about a three year old girl being murdered by the IOF. I was expressing disgust at this when this lovely person decided to share their views about her, her people and my race.
Israel proudly boasts about how it is the “most moral army in the world” and claims that its country is simply defending itself when it’s own people don’t even believe that. They know the disgusting things that their army does, and they support it and regurgitate the propaganda that their government teaches them from the moment they are placed in schools.
I’ll try not to interact with people like this again when they comment things like this to try and provoke me, but it genuinely hurts my heart to see people have no empathy, no emotion, not a modicum of kindness in their hearts. I was taught that humanity is inherently good but when all of this has happened, and for so so long, my faith wavers and I feel disgusted that I share the world with these people. That I breathe their air.
I should clarify that none of this means antisemitism is okay. Always remember that the Palestinian cause is against Zionism, not Jewish people. Don’t interact with the ugly people even if they interact with you, don’t become desensitised or silent and never forget your empathy, your compassion, your kindness. Because apathy is taught, and it spreads. Don’t let it spread to you.

Palestinians are starving. Its a deliberate tatic by the IDF to kill them as a part of their zelous genocidal crusade. It's a huge humanitarian crisis at unprecedented levels. They are resorting to eating animal feed and skinning cats. Drinking seawater. Suriving on one, what could generously be called a "meal" per day.
I worry that this may become a new norm or a stereotype. Like, think of those poor starving kids in Africa will become think of those poor starving kids in Gaza. It'll become a way to gulit you into eating more instead of calling out politicians and sending aid. Do you know what I mean?
like, the great Chinese famine (1959-1961) produced a stereotype that China eats dogs, it was used as a basis for undue prejudice. It was taken as a sign of their barbarism and inhumanity rather than a sign of their great desperation. Do you know what I mean?
like, Ireland still hasn't recovered from the Irish Famine (1845-1849) in terms of population and its affects are still in place. Ireland still has reasonably strong ties to the native Americans who sent them aid then, Irish Americans are tracing their ancestral roots and Bram Stoker's Dracula only exists in part because his mother's bedtime stories about the famine gave him vivd nightmares as a child. I sort of wonder how this Palestine will affect our culture, and it will affect our future because of how much its affecting us now with the footage, and the protests and everything. Do you know what I mean?
I don't know what I mean
