6. does your self insert have any pets?

Emmett doesn't have any pets, officially, but they do take in injured animals pretty regularly so if one went into their apartment there's a pretty solid chance you'd find one or two creatures residing there at any time! I guess Daisy the opossum is the closest animal to a pet Emmett has seeing as she lives there permanently (she is unable to be released back into the wild due to some congenital birth defects)!!

Extra: Emmett was worried, at first, about how Daisy and Murdoc would get along but both are menaces to society so they hit it off lol

7. would any other characters (besides your f/o) have a crush on your self insert?

YES BC IM SUPER HOT/j/lh

Nah but fr, I did make it canon to my selfship AU that Mac used to have a crush on Emmett when they were studying together at MIT! He doesn't anymore and they are just good close friends now! At the time, Emmett was just starting to come to grips with their gender identity and transitioning to a male aligned gender. And while MacGyver supported Emmett of course, it also made his crush on them a little weird for him and helped him come to terms with his own bisexuality! It was the first time he'd ever liked someone who wasn't a woman and it was definitely a little eye opening for him haha!! He never told Emmett until years later when they were drunk and chatting one night after a mission. The two had a good laugh about it and moved on without any strife!

Tldr; Emmett is MacGyver's bisexual awakening lol

Gender: transmasculine nonbinary/demiguy

Sexuality: bisexual (male lean)

9. who are your self insert’s closest friends?

Definitely MacGyver and their other coworkers at the Phoenix Foundation! Mac's friends became Emmett's friends very quickly too!! There's a certain comradery in sharing a secret as profound as their jobs with each other and each other alone!

10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o’s relationship?

Angus 'Mac' MacGyver: not thrilled about the fact that one of his closest friends has chosen to get into a relationship with the man initially sent to kill him, that man being Murdoc, ofc; more chilled out about it though than most of the others, especially when Murdoc starts working for the Phoenix Foundation (off the books ofc, can't have a former assassin as an official employee); he isn't over the moon about the relationship but Emmett clearly is in love and he wouldn't be a good friend if he stood in the way of that

Jack Dalton: NOT A FUCKING FAN OF IT; bro is NOT happy about this at all; even after Murdoc starts consulting for the Foundation, he still doesn't trust Murdoc in the slightest and is convinced that Murdoc will end up betraying them and moreover, hurting Emmett; pretty much always ready to clock Murdoc in the face if the opportunity arises

Riley Davis: super suspicious of Murdoc's intentions with Emmett; may or may not have implanted spyware into Murdoc's phone to monitor his text conversations with Emmett; much to her surprise, all of them are actually...really sweet?

Wilt Bozer: scared shitless tbh; the first time he met Murdoc was when he'd broken into Bozer and Mac's shared house to kill Mac; Bozer is terrified of Murdoc as a person but tentatively accepting of the relationship seeing as he seems so...different when he's around Emmett, so ... tame, almost?

Matilda 'Matty' Webber: keeps an incredibly close eye on Murdoc; she knows she went out on a limb using his expertise to catch other killers but she, being Matty, knows everything, and knows that Murdoc really does care about Emmett, she knows he won't do anything that would put Emmett in harms way, they have that much in common, at least

11. what kind of outfit(s) does your self insert wear?

Emmett wears basically various iterations of the same outfit every day lol. He wears dark grey/faded black jeans, red high top converse, a solid color (usually cool colors like blue) t shirt over a long sleeve black/dark grey shirt!! Sometimes in hotter weather, they forgo the long sleeve undershirt in favor of just the t shirt! But the pants stay. They don't like shorts much ahaha!!

Their outfit may vary a bit more depending on the context of the episode but is almost always more masculine in presentation. For fancier events, they usually wear some type of suit!

12. how would the fandom view your character?

PERSONALLY, I think that the fandom would like Emmett but they would kinda woobify him a little?? like, i get it, im kinda pathetic, but I am SOMEWHAT capable LOL!! I just think the fandom would take Emmett's naturally sweet disposition and reduce them to that and that only, ignoring the fact that they're incredibly intelligent, empathetic and surprisingly capable with several projectile weapons ahahaha!!

But on a more optimistic note, I think there would be a lot of positivity around the representation that Emmett provides as a canon plus sized, trans and neurodivergent character!! I think people would appreciate that!!

This is Dalton Family’s genealogical tree.

It starts with Dallas and Osvald Dalton,far cousins by paternal side.

Dallas is a dangerous criminal,never been arrested in 50 years of honored service,and represents the really bad side of the family.

He got married with an other robber,a beautiful woman,Moira.

They have had 3 sons together,Maurice,Jason and Henry Dalton,worthy of Dallas’ fame.Moira has died when they were just three kids.

Dallas decided to marry again,this time with a quiet farmer,Tiffany,an honest woman,who didn’t like his immorality,but loved him too much.

His sons never accepted her,or got well with their dad’s three younger sons,their half-brothers.Abigel,Pac and Robbie Dalton.

The first one is a bank robber,with a strange passions for cows’ breed and in general rural life,inherited passion by Tiffany.

Pac is an honest man,dishonor of the family,who works as a banker;he’s very appreciated for his cunning in discovering skulduggery.He never smiles,and Averell thinks that he seems a mummy.

Robbie is the youngest of Dallas’ sons,a grouchy man,but with a big heart.He’s a good robber,and cares a lot about honor.He believes in immorality,but he kills just in occasion of need.

Osvald Dalton,Dallas’ cousin,represents the “good” side of the family,who generally only steals and rarely kills,but doesn’t seem to be very able.

He was obviously a criminal himself,but when he got older,decided to leave all for dedicating to his family,his sweet wife Marie,and his children Joy,Brigitta and Bill.

Bill Dalton is the first son of the the couple,he’s stolen to his own sister Joy her treasure,the “Mona Lisa”,who she steals herself first.Escaping,he taked refuge for 15 years in a cave,and later found and arrested.

Brigitta is the middle daughter,a woman who steals mainly jewels for herself.

Joy is sweet,strong-willed,aged woman,who married Robbie Dalton as young,and had 5 children,Joe,William,Jack,Averell,and the youngest Wendy.

The first four ones work together as not credible robbers.

Joe,the oldest one,was his dad’s favorite one,the only one who seemed to have a bit of cruelty in his heart.Jack is the calmest and shiest one,William is a cultured type,while Averell is the most childish and stupidest brother,who makes all plans fail,but also his mum’s favorite.He isn’t bad at all and is secretly a great artist.

Wendy,a saloon can-can dancer during the day and a criminal during the night,was only 3 years when her dad died,but the one who most loved him.He’s taken after him her incredible precision and ability to shoot-when after a period of distance,her mother called her for trying to help her brothers to evade,she finally meets them again.No one of the guards succeeded to take them,so the prison’s director called the only one who could do it,Lucky Luke,now retired.He accepts to return to work just once yet.

He meets Wendy,the fifth Dalton,and falls in love with her,without realizing it,but she hates him,for have arrested her brothers and for being better than her with the gun.

In the end,she understand to feel something for him,but doesn’t want to betray her brothers,particularly Joe.Averell is stupid,but understands her emotions and complains Luke in name of all his brothers,accepting their love.Joe can’t do anything but the same,continuing hating him a bit,anyway.

The two oldest and more capable Dallas’ sons,Maurice and Jason,have both had kids.Jason and a rich,flawed and beautiful girl of Boston,Jennifer,had four daughters,Josline,Jackline,Willialine and Aba,four women by the same personality of Joe,Jack,William and Averell.He lives in Boston.

Maurice,the best one of Dallas’ sons in stealing and killing and all these things,had with his wife and associate,Chantal,four sons.

Bob,Grat,Bill and Emmet are the really dangerous and evil version of Joe,Jack,William and Averell.They have died in a shooting,by Lucky Luke,and their cousins decide to face up to him for revenge.

Emmet survived,and had a son with a singer,Emmet Jr.

On October 5, 1892, the Dalton Gang was in a shoot-out at a bank in Coffeyville, Kansas. Their specialty was robbing banks and trains and they had decided to try a big heist - 2 banks at once. The townspeople fought back and 4 members of the gang were killed - Grat and Bob Dalton, Dick Broadwell and Bill Powers (shown). Emmet Dalton (not shown) was shot 23 times and after being paroled from prison, he became a real estate agent, author and actor in Hollywood. Two members of the gang survived because they were waiting several miles away with fresh horses, but the gang was wiped from existence.

hello, all ! for the sake of new members (and also current members. and certain admins 😭) at the end of every cycle we will be publishing a summary of all clues found via investigation during that time. and, even though ic only one day has passed, our players have found a ton of leads and evidence, but... very little way to make sense of it. i mean, anti-depressants? a plethora of missing teenagers? a vintage serial killer? a smelly man in a bush??? read below the cut to find out more !!!

raf & wally in sam’s apartment (morning)

his go bag, his gear, all of his monster hunting equipment was gone

took sam’s laptop

took a shoebox full of notes

took a list of names pinned to his conspiracy board, accompanied with a map of deepriver forest full of pins with identical years to those on the list.

took the phone number of professor sean guthrie they found in sam’s backpack.

raf & wally both remembered that those names in the first section match the names of the only serial killer wheldrake has ever known, davis shaw aka the deepriver digger.

also, based off sam’s own notes on the board, he suspected the deepriver digger was actually hochne-related.

raf got sam’s roommate’s, beth buckley’s, number.

ava & saaleha at deepriver clinic

sam is not at the clinic, however upon mentioning his name, a nurse behind the counter perked up.

this nurse is jodie gardner, and after some persuading, she finally revealed to them that she knew about sam’s hunt for the hochne, and that she thought he was in trouble.

she mentioned other people concerned for sam (”we’re worried about him”) but upon questioning, jodie clammed up and left.

skip & daniel in deepriver forest

they follow the trail of sam’s timberlakes until they vanish, and it’s around there that they find two pill bottles of a drug called nardyll.

when bending down to pick one up that rolled into the bushes, however, they came across a bedraggled, smelly man named gene carney, who seemed to be collecting the pill bottles, claiming they were scattered all along the forest floor.

unfortunately, shortly after introducing himself, skip, daniel, and gene were spotted by deputy dalton blevins, and while gene managed to escape, skip and daniel were caught.

blevins, not wanting to admit he lost gene carney in the inevitable report, decided to let skip & daniel go with a warning.

kennedy on king street

discovered npc reggie denison, and received the contact information of both reggie denison and james moss.

raf subsequent investigations (because he rolled two nat20s 🙄)

nardyll is an anti-depressant, an irreversible mao inhibitor, that is rarely used because of its strength and its plethora of interactions with other drugs. there are no known recreational uses.

upon googling the deepriver digger, found that davis shaw was caught directly after killing his last victim, and died in a maximum security prison on the other side of the state back in 1997.

upon googling the names of the people on the list, found very little information on those in the second section, but for the disappearances after 2006, discovered the social media profiles and facebook pages of young wheldrake natives, all aged 13 to 24. the profiles were filled with heartfelt messages, and the pages were regarding missions to find these missing children. some of them have since become inactive.

one person heavily involved in all of the pages is called cadence williams.

the police don't seem to be helping, and the only time they mentioned these missing people on any social media referred to them as a "scourge of runaways"

emmet and nigel attempt to break into sam's apartment, both via the window.

nigel breaking the lock gets them caught; emmet reveals herself by knocking over a pile of books.

they almost get campus police called on them

we meet sam's roommates : beth, luca perry, and renee porter

cam & gwen hacking research

cam managed to hack into sam's computer. nothing of note was found on his hard drive, despite some random notes about the missing persons list.

using the links raf sent him, cam found some forums where the missing children were discussed. sam, under the user theduncanfiles, was threadbanned from all of those started by user enolahollmes. enolahollmes had herself lost a son, named troylen.

checking facebook, they quickly find and hack into cadence williams' profile, discovering that she is enolahollmes. she works at the local high school in wheldrake as a janitor.

cadence is friends with nurse jodie, and they managed to find messages between them where they reference sam, mostly referring to him as the conspiracy kid. it seems sam was asking cadence for information and, at the implication that a fucking cryptid took her kid, she basically booted him from this search community.

hacked jodie's account to find messages between her and another nurse, lauren woods, discussing ava and saaleha visiting the clinic and how something odd was going on, though they didn't know what.

The Dalton Gang after being killed in a raid in 1892. Frank Dalton was a U.S. Marshall who was killed in 1887, but Gratton (Grat), Robert, and Emmet turned to crime when not paid as lawmen. The gang was notorious for bank and train robberies. Left to right: Bill Power, Bob Dalton, Grat Dalton, Dick Broadwell. Emmet Dalton was later captured and served a 14 year prison sentence.

Teddy Wright Dialogue (Far Harbor)

Teddy Wright is the doctor in Far Harbor. He’s nursing a patient named Andre, gives the player the quest to do the Captain’s Dance, and is overall a good guy in a crappy place. He’s hard of hearing, so a lot of his dialogue starts with him repeating a line or confused.

Intro Scene

Mariner: Meaning no disrespect, doc, but if he ain't getting better... Andre promised me his gun. I got a writ for it here. All official.

[Disgusted] You want his... what? Gun? His body's not cold yet, so what's his stays his until then.

Mariner: Mr. Lee's lined me up a deal. More than enough caps to get off this cursed island. I need that gun.

A miserable rascal like you doesn't deserve to be on this island. You should be praying for your "friend" instead of reading up on his will. Now. Get the hell out of my clinic.

Greetings

[Irritated] You another vulture circling over Andre's body? He ain't dead. Wait. [Pleasantly surprised] No, it's a mainlander. Welcome to my little clinic.

If you need doctoring speak up. I wish I had time for some proper conversation, but my work's never done.

People around here have had a hard go of it. And manners on this island are a bit... sparse in the best of times. Mainlanders tend to be a bit friendlier all told, so I always enjoy the extra company.

[Player heals Andre] Well, I'll be. I think you may have done it.

[Player heals Andre] I'll keep looking after Andre, but I think thanks to you, he's got a fighting chance.

[Player heals Andre] Your patient, Andre, he's walking around. If I'm not too careful there's going to be two doctors in the Harbor. *chuckle*

[Player doesn’t heal Andre] Dark days. Lost another patient - Andre. It never gets easy. Please tell me you're feeling well, at least.

You are a curious specimen. Despite our "friendly" town doing its best to chase you out, you keep helping us ingrates all the same. I got to ask: Why do you keep at it?

“You're good people in some dire straits. Figured you could use a hand.” Huh? *chuckle* You running for office? If that's the truth, we don't deserve you.

“I think I'm done helping you guys.” [Apologetic] Well, hold on now. There's reasons for people's... color.

Most folk here are set in their ways, yes? Makes no difference how hard you try to get in good with them. Heck, it took my family three generations before the Daltons would sell us a heel of bread. But there's a way - a downright insane way, mind - that you can turn even the most stubborn fool around.

(Player says no) [Thinks it’s the right call, but still persuasive.] Prudent. But, if you change your mind... The Harbor needs you, even if they're too stupid to realize it. Most of the folk on this rock believe they've been given the God given right to walk here. Way I figure it, if you got the moxie to survive - you earned your place.

Change your mind? There's a way to make these damned fools respect you.

(Player says yes) [Enjoys telling the story.] Legends say the toughest, meanest, and outright craziest hopefuls would... chum the waters and lure out the worst the island could throw at them. Once the would-be Captain killed the Mirelurk Queen, or Fog Crawler, or what have you - they'd invite the whole island to feast off the bounty. [Serious] You do this, well, you won't be made Captain - but you'll earn respect. Everyone's respect.

"Why are you helping me?” My job is to heal people. And not just from the physical type of injuries. The island's in trouble like it's never been. And you might - just might - be the medicine we desperately need.

"So if we throw this... dance it'll really change their minds?” [A little nervous] The Dance hasn't been done in living memory. Some people think the tradition is dead. [Confidently] But its history is soaked deep in this island. You do it, and it'll turn heads for certain.

“I'm ready to be become a legend, then.” You what? Ha! You crack me up.

“I'm not sure about this.” I'd think you were a fool if you were. But... if you want to do it.

There's an old Mirelurk feasting grounds by Emmet's Causeway. A treacherous stretch along the coast. Go there and throw any kind of meat you got into the water. All that blood and viscera will be sure to attract attention. And then wait. I'll make sure there's a witness or two. Prove to the rest of these clods you belong.

Feast (after the Dance)

Everyone. Everyone. Times are hard, but this here feast is proof that we can turn things around. Now I know mainlanders have been responsible for all manner of harm. But this one is special. This one did the Captain's Dance.

Witness: It's true, I saw it!

So in my book, he's not a mainlander any more.... He's one of us.

After Speech

[Amused] If these knuckleheads don't trust you now... Well, fuck 'em, right?

I expect folk will be more talkative now, might even have some more work for you. Maybe hit up Mitch at the Last Plank.

"Seriously, thanks, Teddy.” You are the most peculiar main... person, I've ever had the occasion to meet.

“Haven't I helped enough?” Wha-What? *chuckle* Hell, I got no idea why you've done half the things you do. If you're done lending a hand, can't say I blame you one bit.

“Have any leads on a paying gig?” What? Why yes, Mitch, he owns the Last Plank. I think his family is in a spot of trouble. And I heard some of the dregs at the end of the dock were looking for help, too.

“You need anything else, Teddy?” [Belly laugh] Ha! You just don't quit. No, no I don't need a damned thing. Ha.

Take this. And, if you're inclined, socialize. It's your party after all.

Settling Land for the Harbormen

Avery: Well, I won't stop you. But until we deal with the Children of Atom - settling the island again... It could blow up in your face.

At this rate, we may be running low on medical supplies inside a week or two.

Avery: We're expecting another boat soon. Small Bertha: Excuse me.

[Irritated] Smalls, we got no time for you.

Small Bertha: The mainlander cleared out Echo Lake Lumber Mill. But we're no good here. Harbormen need their own land. Something to protect and hold.

[Thoughtful] I was wrong about you.

Avery: What?

[Dissmissively] Not you. [To Small Bertha] You.

Bertha knows this island better than you, Avery. We give folk some Condensers, materials, and a chance to build defenses and we'll survive all right. And thrive even.

“I can lend a hand, too.” You would? Then their odds are sure to be better.

"Anyone wanting to settle this island's crazy. It'll kill you.” It's been trying all my life. Hasn't done it yet.

"For the price of a few Condensers, you give people real hope. Sounds like a good deal to me.” And even if they don't make it, they go out with their heads held high.

"Could this really work?” I don't see why not. And even if it doesn't, instead of starving on a pier they die on their own land.

Give them the Fog Condensers, Avery.

Avery: Come, Bertha.

You might want to check up on Echo Lake. Bertha's friends would no doubt welcome you. And take this. You never cease to amaze.

Examining Avery’s Skull

[Asked to examine a skull] Not something I hear every day.

There are some tests I could run. Seems important to you. Hand it over.

This? This can't be? It's impossible, right? [Realizing] No, no. Avery's been dead for years now. Acadia's done rigged the game, haven't they? [Scared] This proof you got there. What do you plan on doing with it?

"If you were in my shoes what would you do? Have a good long drink is what I'd do first. On one hand, people need justice, and criminals need to pay. But folk can go from god-fearing to lynchin' awful quick. The real question, though, is what you're planning on?

"I want to resolve this with the least amount of collateral damage.” Collateral what? Ah yes. You got good instincts there.

“I want DiMA to pay for what he's done.” Make him what? Pay. No argument here. It's... diabolical.

Listen, I ain't telling no one nothing. If a single word got out... Well, it'd be whole mess of bad. If you have a powerful need to bear your soul... talk with Avery herself. I know she ain't human, per se, but I know her. She's a pain in my side but a decent sort. Whatever you do, don't tell Allen Lee. Otherwise there'll be a whole lot of blood.

Misc Comments

I fear something terrible happened to those synths by Acadia.

It's hard to lose an appetite for hate. Might be best the Children of Atom are gone.

A lot of blood spilt both ways between us and the Children of Atom. Not an easy thing to forget.

DiMA's a poison. Give it time to take hold, and this island will tear itself apart with accusations.

I suppose if we exiled Avery, she'd just be someone else's problem...

You just couldn't keep Avery's secret? Dark days ahead.

Might be the best damned thing you've done on this island is making some folk realize just how small Allen Lee is.

People are coming around to you. Tradition is a powerful thing.

Acadia did us wrong. But... So much blood.

Heh? What? You have to speak up.

Heard anything from Small Bertha? The dock rats went to the Lumber Mill and haven't been heard from since.

I haven't heard anything from Small Bertha. I worry for that girl.

Taking that Lumber Mill's the best news the island's had for months.

Nothing good's going to come from those condensers that got sabotaged.

[Teasingly] If you need to convalesce after your epic fight against the Red Death... *chuckle*

One way or the other, a doctor's gonna be necessary.

If it must be done, might as well see it done right.

That skull I looked at for you... It's better if it stays buried. Forever.

Well, you know where I am.

I have a feeling we'll see each other again.

Defeat Blight: For a wishlist of plot ideas for our muses.

Idea 001. “Son” of a senator, hmmm? That’s exactly the type of friendship that would benefit Clann Nuadha - really help them get that word out. Hell, if they could even convince any of the Daltons to join, that’d be a real win. A chance encounter, a light friendship, work Nicky for everything he’s worth, Emmet. Except, that is the last thing Emmet wants. All this newfound knowledge with the Fey and the Clann? He doesn’t want to spread the word, he doesn’t want to get more people involved. Catch Emmet actively foiling any plots to entrap the Dalton family in the cult - not that he knows any of the Fey things that Daltons are already embroiled in.

Idea 002. Sean needs some friends, Nickel needs some friends, Emmet's a friendly guy save his desire to kill the fey. Let him befriend them both and then suffer with the eventual nuclear Nickel/Sean war on the horizon. Perhaps he learns some things...some....things he should not in the scuffle 👀.

Idea 003. Art school, you say? You know who used to be the model for figure drawing class? Emmet.

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?

Season 1 Episode 8, Corkscrew (the episode when Murdoc is first introduced as well), is when Emmett makes his entrance. Having only been working at the Phoenix Foundation for a short while, Emmett is understandably a bit daunted by the thought of having to profile a criminal as dangerous as Murdoc but they are able to do just that and help put him away in federal prison, at least, for awhile anyway...

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

Angus 'Mac' MacGyver: close friends; met at MIT while Mac was briefly in college and Emmett was studying as a transfer student there and hit it off! Remained in touch after both left (Mac, dropping out to join the army and Emmett moving back to Stanford); later reunited after Mac suggested Emmett join Phoenix and Matty subsequently recruited them

Jack Dalton: good friends; met when Emmett joined Phoenix; looks out for Emmett, realizing they are a little defenseless, being recruited out of academia as opposed to already being in the intelligence world; protective of them but still prone to ribbing them a bit, he's not trying to be mean, that's just Jack :); easily the first person to throw hands at whoever misgenders Emmett

Riley Davis: good friends; met when Emmett joined Phoenix; bonds over shared interest in computers, though Riley is infinitely more adept at them than Emmett; Riley teaches Emmett some of what she knows in her spare time; Emmett soaks it up eagerly, learning new things and spending time with a friend, perfection!

Wilt Bozer: good friends; met soon after Bozer had learned the truth about Mac's work and the Phoenix Foundation; eager to get to know one of Mac's other friends, seeing as he's Mac's oldest childhood friend; Emmett is the only one who welcomes Bozer's cooking endeavors and is happy to eat whatever he cooks, save for meat items; in turn, Bozer learns some new vegetarian recipes for his newest friend

Matilda 'Matty' Webber: good friends; met when Matty recruited Emmett out of academia at Mac's suggestion; initially Emmett was incredibly intimidated by Matty and she wasn't exactly friendly, but over time the two get fairly close and its obvious they care for each other; Matty is willing to pull strings to take care of her employees, including Emmett

4. would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?

Emmett is a side character in the way that they don't appear in every episode, but enough of them that the viewer gets attached, even if they are consorting with Murdoc, a known antagonist. Despite their affiliation with Murdoc, they still are considered a protagonist of the show due to their working for the Phoenix Foundation with MacGyver and the others!! (and the fact that in my canon, they kinda domesticate Murdoc a little lol; he eventually works with the Phoenix Foundation, helping catch other criminals!)

5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?

No special powers or abilities aside from being freakishly smart with a freakishly good capacity for retaining information! They also are surprisingly adept with projectile weapons, including several types of guns and of course with a bow and arrows, owing to their archery training in formative years. Not that they ever are using these weapons in actual combat unless in dire situations in the field, of course.
