Can someone PLEASE explain why there was a big 90s toy craze and a bunch of spinoffs and films about Elmo, but not *these guys??* Can I join that timeline? Oscar and co. have way more charm. And having a pet with beady dot eyes/being silent barring just lil squeaks or a tiny occasional phrase is SO much more appealing for a toy mascot, seriously it is 100x more cute.

When I was like two years old I had one of those Elmo toys where you could input things about the child through a computer program (favorite animal, favorite color, name, etc) so when it would turn on it would say "Hi [insert name here]! Let's play!"
But the thing is. It was light activated. So when the batteries started dying, the light from car headlights passing our house at night would activate the Elmo doll, so I would hear Elmo say in the infamous Dying Battery voice:
"HI [DEADNAME]. LET'S PLAY."
