They can be Ace or Bi or everything else that incarnates each of the beautiful shades of the Rainbow Flag. But all these versions of them have one thing in common, and this is this Love, this Bond, this Ineffable Precious Something we gratefully share in this fandom and beyond.

Max time allowed: 2 hours instead of 8-20 on my previous projects (1h30 here, I had a rough day at work and I just couldn’t have the energy to draw a more difficult prompt)

Today's theme chosen by me: Rough day? So, what about a rougher night with your bestie. And an extraordinary amount of alcohol™. Aaaaand the weirdest waking-up ever.

As I was exhausted after work, I just wanted to draw a sleepy-lazy-drowsssy Snake!Crowley, and Turtledove!Aziraphale came along to the party. Yessss, a turtledove, not a dove. Turtledove, I like them, me. Why? Because in France, they are grey – so it seems perfect for Azi. And they have a collar of darker feathers, just like a bow tie. And they have the cutest softest soothing song I have ever heard. Aaaaaand I am positively sure that when they bond, they bond for life. *mic drop, goes back to sleep*

Hey the Good Omens fam. Still having fun? :-p

Well well well. I just realised this morning that this post will be my 100th.

I wanted to duly celebrate it, so I hope you'll like this new little sneak-peek.

Thank. You. So. Much!

As I am writing this, my “Good Omens Richard-II Kiss WIP” has reached 1216 notes. I WAS NOT expecting such a thing when I posted it almost absent-mindedly a few days before New Year Eve. This is so wild. Thank you SO MUCH.

And the pressure is so wild, too – yeah. Here I am. Searchingformytrustthatdoesntexist, me.

I am taking all the time I can before completing it. My Daily Challenge is quite effective, as I am doing twice as much more dumb mistakes and technical errors, I think I am doing twice as many more progresses too.

I really, really want to learn how to keep in the final version of my drawings the movement and the emotion presents in most of my sketches - and so emblematic of my "Richard II Kiss WIP". These sparks are often lost when I start colouring / shading and I WANT to resolve that.

Thank you so much for your support, your enthusiasm and your kindness. Your comments and tags made my day every day since this WIP mysteriously started to be uncontrollably spread out on Tumblr last week.

As I use a Graphic Tablet Pad since only 4 months and a half, I am exploring new things: how to use the G-Pen and differents shades and opacities. Gotta be quick, 2 hours this is so short for me... But I am glad of this first try.

(yes I know this Muse song has another sense in the On Thin Ice universe - for Crowley. Well, our Fallen Serpent will show us what IS a true Survival, tomorrow. ;-)

Max time allowed: 2 hours, as usual for my Daily Challenges. Well, this is a very special Tribute for me, and I was on a three-days break. So I didn’t really set a timer for the « On Thin Ice » sketches. Plus, I drew them quite in the same time and on the same file to be sure Crowley and Aziraphale would match. I guess I spent more or less 3 hours on the lineart for each one of them (the clothes and the figures needed a lot of time), plus 1h30-2h on the colouring/shading for each one.

Be aware that in my first sketches for this project, Crowley and Aziraphale were supposed to train on the same ice rink, and I dearly wanted Crowley to be watching Aziraphale, and Aziraphale was supposed to glance back to him. I had to give up on this idea later – because the figure I chose for Aziraphale definitely couldn’t allow such a shared glance. (but, hello, it will be a triptyque ! So, guess what? About the third part… :-p)

About Aziraphale, as my « Falling Angel ».

« On Thin Ice » author, @blairamok, describes the Hydroplane ice skating figure as very representative of Aziraphale, and the drawing reference pictures were numerous enough to get some solid inspiration. It’s a complex skating figure. I have watched some ice skating tutorials on YouTube – because I wanted the movement of the clothes and hair to be accurate and, if I understand everything properly, even a slight alteration in the position of the arms can make you fall. Such perfection ! That IS the right move for Aziraphale !

I told sooner on my Gymnast !AU challenge that I appreciated drawing Aziraphale with realistic curves more and more each day – even if it still triggers me sometimes about my own shaming roundnesses. I realised my way of doing art – and my mind too, maybe - was evolving when I got back to check references in the amazing Blair artworks (link AO3). A few months ago, I felt insecure watching Blair’s Aziraphale, which seemed to me too much plump and very soft – not a « good sportive look », I thought then. But now I like him more and more, so maybe my way of thinking is changing, and I think this is for the very best.

My Aziraphale is performing a difficult figure, so he is using all his muscles into maintaining his balance. He seems so statuesque, so powerful, yet very focused and oblivious to the world around him, with his eyes shut. That is why he couldn’t share a glance with my Crowley. T.T

.

Maybe this is my way to guess Aziraphale’s behavior in the so-awaited « On Thin Ice » next chapters. Focused on his own training, trying to ignore Crowley’s sassyness but still secretly impressed by his partner’s skills. Because they share the same love for Ice Skating, even if they don’t show it in the same way.

Blair, if you ever read this, thank you. For your artworks, for making us dream about a wonderful story that still remains to be told.

Thank you for « On Thin Ice », for your so-kind message last week, and for everything else.

I have faith. I’ll wait for your story. But even if it doesn’t exist yet, I am already dreaming about it, and this is priceless.

Tribute Time, so I threw the timer away, lol :-p. As for my Fallen Angel Aziraphale (link), I spent more or less 3 hours on the lineart, plus 1h30 on the colouring/shading.

Crowley, as my « Fallen Serpent ».

“On Thin Ice”'s author Blairamok describes the Cantilevers figure as « one of the biggest fuck yous to physics », and so one of Crowley’s signature moves. As I was searching drawing references about this amazing figure, I found a lot of ways to perform it, all beautiful and impressive. I finally chose this particular one (I am sorry I don’t know the original performer’s name on the picture I used, but to me he seemed so powerful, yet relaxed and happy on the picture, so I couldn’t resist). Though I had to slightly re-adapt the figure to Crowley who is taller, thinner and maybe even more flexible (ssssnaky, duh).

I had so much fun re-thinking his clothes for my sketch. I used the scrumptious💕 black and red « Serpent » clothing that Blairamok created, and I added my own « signature move » : wings – or, well, feathers. As Crowley is THE Fallen Angel here, the feathers are slightly burnt, some of them almost torn apart. They cover his shoulder blades, then spread out as a unique short and damaged wing at the back of his right shoulder, go down on his right flank, then cross his back as they slightly go embracing his left hip. The Red Serpent Pattern is quite the same as Blair’s clothing, but it still continues on his leg and circles his right ankle like a leg shackle.

I am particularly proud of Crowley’s eye and expression. Remember? I dearly wanted Crowley sharing a glance with Aziraphale while he was doing his Cantilevers, and Aziraphale was supposed to glance back to him. I had to give up on this idea later – because the figure I chose for Aziraphale definitely couldn’t allow such a shared glance. (but wait for the third part of this triptyque, it will be posted tomorrow!)

So, my Crowley still has this ethereal, strangely happy, almost enthralled expression. It kind of represents my own interpretation of the Cantilevers figure : it’s a proof of complete trust, in yourself, in your skills, in your art and your environment. And I like to imagine that if Crowley is able to have such confidence in himself, then maybe he can and will trust his partner Aziraphale with quite the same strength.

Day 24: "I miss you". - Good Omens, post-Season 2.

Got sad news. It's going to be fine but... Well. You know.

Just a simple idea. And I wanted to take a "break" with my current bigger WIPs. Well this "break" took me almost 8 hours. And yet it seems very simple. Sometimes, less is more, they said. But I guess I feel a little bit better. For now.

Day 10: “After my Turtledove!Aziraphale... Meet the Ineffable Birds!” – Good Omens

While we were talking about this dear Turtledove!Aziraphale, one of my followers @ineffablebirds, mentioned that they would have like to see Crowley as a black-billed magpie… the idea kept running a looong way through my head. So… here is a little gift, my friend! :-D

Today's theme chosen by me: So, of course Crowley is linked to the crow – and even more so since his little trick in the Job minisode, and the headcanon (?) about how he chose to change Crawly in “Crowley” in remembrance of this first adventure / collaboration with Aziraphale.

Buuut, Aziraphale is often associated with a dove (white hair, purity, Heaven and so on) and yet, yours truly decided that the turtledove was more appropriated (It happened right here!)

So why stop there ?

My reasons? Even if the crow is indeed very classy and matches well with Crowley, the Magpie does too. A specie said to be intelligent and altruistic, a signature chattering that is easily worth Crowley’s sniggering, and some touches of white in its plumage which furiously remind me of our demon’s not so dark alignment…

And then there is this old tale about how the magpies like to steal everything that shines. Between Crowley’s often showy getups and the fact that he did climbed the bloody Eden’s wall to capture the attention of the most luminous of all the angels, I don’t really know what more to say :-p

It's the Top/Dom/BAMF!Crowley Tuesday on the @goodomensafterdark subreddit, and whereas it's the occasion to repost whatever you have made/found (arworks, fanfictions, memes, etc...) about our dear powerful demon, i decided to draw something totally new for this special occasion - "Red style", of course, because it suits Crowley so well.

Today's theme chosen by me: I wanted to finally draw our Ineffable Wives – first time ever for me. I indulged in a « The-Great-Gatsby-movie » mood, and an intimate scene as they could have behind the scene. I love the way Aziraphale is trustfully watching Crowley. And I am pretty sure Crowley is blushing a little under this white powder make-up.

More trivia infomations after the cut. Thank you all for your kind words and your wonderful tags! Please, continue to share! I am so happy to see my artworks are appreciated!

Trivia : I had so many clothes, jewels and hair-dressing references for this one. But it was so difficult to do it correctly and I was lacking time, so I had to get a looooot simpler. I think I’ll come back to this one later, once my personal daily challenge is over.

Trivia 2 : I always try to draw them with David Tennant and Michael Sheen physical traits in mind – part of my challenge. But here, that was the first time ever I tried to feminise masculine traits. It felt very weird for me while I was drawing, could not feel satisfied until I smooth and smooth again their nose, their brow and their chin/neck… maybe I overdid. I wanted DT and MS still be recognisable as women here, I think I’ll do better next time.

Trivia 3: there is blue and grey in Aziraphale’s eyes and Crowley’s jewels. There is gold in Crowley’s eyes and Aziraphale’s jewels. Do what you want with this information, while I am dying of cuteness in my goblin’s corner.

Today's theme chosen by me:

You previously met my Magpie !Crowley, please now allow me to present you my dear Turtledove!Aziraphale (human form). I am so in love with his wings, inspired by the European Turtledove wings. These wings are quite different from the ones I drew before in my other Good Omens fanarts, but that's because my previous wings were here to express an emotion, a movement, an intention (just like in this WIP here). For this one here, because I really wanted it to be realistic, I had to use some references and flying turtledoves pictures. But I was glad to finally draw something realistic but still inspiring motion AND emotion.

Maybe I’ll use this new knowledge later for ulterior bigger projects.

For your information, Aziraphale’s coat is quite the same as Magpie!Crowley’s. The coats continue in their back then switch to become some long and beautiful bird-tail feathers. I hope someday I’ll be able to draw their backside, so you can see what I imagine for them.

Just so you know, I am a French midwife, so I usually find it hard to enjoy romance and AU fanfictions about pregnancy and childbearing/childcare – just like a lot of TV-shows, they often are way too irrealistic just like some silly fairytale, or medical situations are overemphasized or dumbly managed. So, not my cup of tea and it’s ok, I am probably just a little bit jaded about these subjects. « Glow », though, made a wonferful exception and has enlightened my poor black heart. Our two ineffable idiots/lovers/parents-to-be are so imperfectly perfect in this comics, their story is light, cute, genuine, sometimes quite angsty (and it is normal, pregnancy/parenthood can/will be angsty too !) and incredibly fun.

So, thanks @ineffableparents ! My colleagues and I are fond of how you describe the one who did the ultrasound scan for Aziraphale <3 Soothing, respectful, skilled and kind in their own way.

Day 3: "Laudanum" – Good Omens (Season 2, AU)

What if... Crowley wasn't called back to Hell after Edinburgh? Aziraphale would have to do some baby demon-sitting. As we say in French, « Sainte Patience, au secours. »

Personal challenge: a simple sketch each day

Goal: forcing me to keep things simple - inking, shading, just a few sashes of colour

Improvement pursued: to get the movement, the emotion, finding how to add depth, learning how to leave things barely finished

Max time allowed: 2 hours 2h30 🫣 instead of 8-20 on my previous projects

Today's theme chosen by me: just a silly AU idea about the Edinburgh minisode. And it’s gone waaaay too far in my head XD

I am pretty sure Aziraphale is doing this voluntarily – because OF COURSE he wants to protect his ineffable “partner in crime”. He might even think it's kinda cute to see Crowley -who has just saved a human from Hell!– so genuine and weirdly happy. BUT after spending a few hours dealing with a five-years-old-like demonic being who can do miracles, I guess even angels can lose a little bit of their biblical patience.
