"Originally written in 1994 by the New York-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter, like many of the songs off Bronx Cheer, “Flying” was one story that was sitting around for nearly 30 years without a home. I'm assuming by the types of interactions I have with you all here that if you're not familiar with Head Automatica that you're at least aware of Glassjaw, but in case not, here's the quick version: Glassjaw is an incredible band thats been around since the 90s and they're sort of hard to pin down but they're screamy/hardcore/sort of emo maybe/really artistic/and have a REALLY GREAT sense of style and branding. Head Automatica was a REALLY leftfield sideproject by Glassjaw lead singer Daryl Palumbo that was the antithesis of Glassjaw, really. It was fast, it was poppy, it was dancey, and it was wall-to-wall earworms. I will say that the Venn diagram overlap of people who loved both Glassjaw and HA are is probably relatively small, odds are if you love poppy electronic dance music, you'll dig the hell out of this one.
