Outburn: 13 years, 60 issues, 20 covers. I first picked up Outburn when MSI were on the cover and just a few issues later… issue 31 (2005) I had my first spread in Outburn as a contributing photographer, two issues later I became a staff photographer, and 8 issues later, issue 41, I got my first cover with As I Lay Dying. I have been with them since issue 31… which was 13 years ago. Exactly 60 issues after my first and I have the cover for the 20th time. 60 issues (and counting) as this marks 13 years with this incredible magazine run by just two incredibly dedicated people. No team of editors, designers, etc. just the two incredibly passionate people putting out this amazing magazine for 20+ years. I have had spreads and photos in each and every one of the past 60 issues, but to this day, I still get excited every single time a new issue comes out and I get to go page by page looking at their/our work. I don’t think I could ever fully put into words how much I truly appreciate Outburn and their belief in me/my work since I was a young photographer fresh out of school. I remember seeing Pauly (I am forgetting his last name, sorry Pauly!) doing a shoot with From Autumn To Ashes outside the Palladium, and immediately I thought… WOW. That is what I want to do. That is my goal! That is what I want to be doing! Little did I know at the time, that the shoot was for Outburn, and just a short time later, I was doing the same thing. I am endlessly fortunate to have Outburn as a home for the majority of my photo work, and as always… cannot wait to work on the next issue. That feeling of getting a cover never changes. Its always so exciting and meaningful and exciting to me and has not faded from the day I got my first cover assignment with AILD. I am forever thankful to Outburn and how much they have done and continue to do for me as we work together on each and every awesome issue. one issue is $5 a one year sub is just $11 and well worth it!! you'll see my work in every single issue, along with tons of awesome interviews, reviews, photos, and more.
