8th house your lesson part 1/2
8th house Aries cusp:
You were born with an aura of the independent pilot. The world itself seems to move slow and almost in a sense out of your orbit. You’re not at all a stranger to intensity or the idea of loss which can come as both a massive hurt to those around you but also an air of emotional absence in the times it matters most. Aries being the child of the zodiac translates to the realm of transformation and rebirth via personal immaturity which in itself means that you often travel down the road of trial and error longer than most and at times to your own detriment. Your lesson is to realize that as much as you’ve mastered self preservation you must also realize that the world is made up of plenty of main characters besides you and some of these characters love and care about you if you’d take your foot of the gas for a moment to see.
Who you share it with: Jay z, Madonna, Keanu Reeves, Walt Disney
Fictional characters like you:
Alfie Solomon & Arthur Shelby(peaky blinders)FX
Nora durst & meg(The Leftovers) HBO
Noah solloway(The affair)Showtime
☄️Arctic monkeys - if you were there
☄️The Kills - pull a u
8th house Taurus cusp:
You were born with a natural sense of stability. The world to you seems easy, people in your eyes throw a fit for nothing, for what reason is there to shout about your discomfort when you could simply create a comfortable situation? You always seek bliss and at times this can cause others to walk around you as if glass were laid about the floor as no one wants to be left in the dust after you deem them to much of a damper to your good mood. It’s easy for you to discontinue something that’s not providing in a sense which is both good and bad as sometimes those you let go are oblivious to the slow burn that’s been taking place underneath your unfazed exterior. Your lesson is to learn that others shouldn’t be casualties in your search for the sensuality and security you seek and security shouldn’t be your sole hold to this world! For what should happen where you to lose all you have?
Who you share it with: Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé knowles, Britney Spears, Adolf hitler.
Fictional characters like you:
Clay Jenson(13 reasons why)Netflix
Wolfgang & Lito Rodriguez(sense8) Netflix
Sydney Barrett(legion) FX
🍃Arctic monkeys - 505
🍃jack white - would you fight for my love
8th house Gemini cusp:
You were born naturally in a pair of two on a emotional level. Parts of you are presented to a situation as is whilst there are often entire personalities inside you bustling around like the streets of New York. Due to your back and forth and often immensely “screened” nature it’s hard for people to truly meet you, which is often further intensified by the way this energy manifest in true Gemini like fashion which is all around like a cyclone never directly landing on target. In emotional times it’s easier for you to hop into one of your varying personas rather than outright dealing with it thus causing venom to build up until it becomes its on separate persona. Your lesson is to realize that the more you try to hide in a crowd inside yourself the less you’ll be able to successfully bring out the real you; let go of the fear you have of confronting the real hurts in you.
Who you share it with: Nicole Kidman, Katy Perry, Bjork, Tom Cruise
Fictional characters like you:
Dexter Morgan( dexter) USA
Rosita & Eugene(The walking dead) AMC
Sansa Stark(game of thrones) HBO
🌴Daughter - dreams of William
🌴Daughter - no care
8th house cancer cusp:
You were born naturally with the ability to embody sincerity and the moon itself. Love and intimacy come easy to you but that same internal forethought is lost externally. It can be hard for you to express your more sensitive and emotive side to those whom you’re untrusting, doubly so to those you actually care for. With cancer here there is a tendency to get carried away with ones emotions often drowned in whatever sea of emotion they happen to be feeling be it anger, sadness, hate, love, and even nothingness is felt with a deep rooted intensity. Your lack of a healthy medium can at times make those around you feel like they’re being given a silent but overwhelming ultimatum. Your lesson is to learn to dial back the lever. Not everything needs to be a black or white end or be all sensation! Try and find a healthy calm before the storm.
Who you share it with: brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson, Bruce lee, Kim Kardashian
Fictional characters like you:
Jon snow & arya Stark(game of thrones) HBO
Barry brown & pope(animal kingdom)USA
Mr-robot, Angela moss & Darlene Alderson(Mr. robot)USA
🌑jack white - Love is blindness
🌑ane burn all my tears
8th house Leo cusp:
You were born with a inner flame that serves as a driving force between much of what you do. Your ego is both endearing and something to admire out of how through sheer will and individual reliance you push through much of your turmoil. The issue here lies in the spectacle you make of your own misfortune as some inner part of you needs to be recognized for your sorrow, your pain. The innate desire you have to be recognized at times devours the actuality of what you’re going through, it removes the depth that’s been bestowed upon you. Your lesson is to learn to navigate away from public recognition! Not everyone needs to know what lies deep in your closet-nor do you need to relish in telling them about it.
Who you share it with: Jesus Christ, Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Ariana grande, Virgin Mary
Fictional characters like you:
Micky milkovich & frank Gallagher(shameless) showtime
Ulrich Nielson(dark) Netflix
Francis underwood & Thomas Yates( House of cards) Netflix
⛅️The smiths - how soon is now
⛅️The psychedelic furs - Love my way
8th house Virgo cusp:
You were born with a rather reserved and impartial energy. There is a noticeable preference to stay out of involvement or as one would say to keep an observant yet detached liaison with ones surroundings here. Ideally you seek intimacy of the mind rather than physical intimacy outright which occasionally clashes with your unconscious need for “touch.” The cutting nature of Virgo is extremely amplified here often creating literal Barriers between you and the outside world around you which may be good in some cases but not always. Unfortunately your more sacrificing and caring traits are shadowed by the cold and often meticulously thought out side you present. Your lesson is to understand that people are flawed, but most importantly as a human your too are indeed flawed.
Who you share it with: Barack Obama, Megan Fox, Nicki Minaj, Russell Crowe, Naomi Campbell.
Fictional characters like you:
Doug stamper & Claire underwood(house of cards) Netflix
Javier pereira(good behavior) USA
Bette Davis(feud: Bette and Joan) FX
🍂The dead weather - rocking horse
🍂Johnny cash - mercy seat
8th house libra cusp:
You were born with a almost unbelievable amount of innocence and charm. Socially your impeccable always capable of giving the world and those around you exactly what they’ve wanted and more. Ironically the weighted nature of libra here actuality provides a bit of clarity on the darker themes associated with the 8th house. You find transformations something more on the side of beauty rather than something on the side of the vulgar and obstructive. There is a dying goddess syndrome associated with this placement being the fact that those whom have this seem to see a gradual death of their beauty only to be completely remodeled even more beautiful than they were previously. Though despite the ease presented here shallowness and inaccessibility cloud you, as often speaking upon real and dark matters with you seem to scare the child in you that wants to see the world as jolly and amicable. Your lesson is to see the beauty in not only the pure side of life but also the struggles and pains that exist; not to turn a blind eye but to see the truth before you.
Who you share it with: michael Jackson, George Clooney, Orlando bloom, David bowe, Whitney Houston.
Fictional characters like you:
Joshua ‘j’ Cody & Catherine brown(animal kingdom) USA
Tyrese, Gabriel stoked & Paul “Jesus”(walking dead) AMC
Celeste wright & ed Mackenzie(Big little lies) HBO
🐿nena - 99 luftballons
🐿Tracy Chapman - fast car
8th house Scorpio cusp:
You were born with an atmosphere of death, like that of a one winged angel out of sight of the sky. Much like Aries intensity is no foreigner to you Nor is the concept of darkness in the life around you. Unlike most you’ve seen the hardships, the falls, the wounds, the scars of the broken. Scorpio is at home in this house-often in such a way that these natives seem the most alive despite the overwhelming flow of contempt that surrounds them. You’re capable of deep healing-healing that could bring someone out of the very clouds themselves but this is something deep within you that just first require you to meet the winged demons lurking around in your own mind and soul. People are frightened by your true nature and because of this at times you wear a cloak around those be it a smile or an exaggerated sense of happiness just so they don’t leave you. Your lesson is to realize that just because people can’t expect your truth doesn’t mean your to much nor does it mean you’re evil or too dark it means your path is unique and your path is one unlike any others.
Who you share it with: Rihanna, Shakira, zayn malik, James Dean, Ryan gosling.
Fictional characters like you:
Ellen barkin & deran Cody(animal kingdom) USA
Maeve Millay & Dr Robert Ford(westworld)HBO
Sun(sense8)Netflix
8th house Sagittarius cusp:
Many sag in the 8th house natives are born with a very obscure but unique two Time life trait. Often these natives live life in stage one, infantile and erratic, living life without remorse or commitment-flying from the next fleeting feeling to the next then crashing into phase two the more quietly observant years-viewing the world yet reacting only when necessary, optimistic and deeply self spiritual in what they deem as the unknown. Commitment is something that you grow into, not necessarily something that comes naturally like with most people which can cause you trouble in the realm of romance and the realm of overall projects and even things as small as a job. At some point in these natives lives there is a turning point in which they no longer are a horse prancing about they become a true centaur capable of deep and often soulful commitment to another or whatever calls them forth but as with the 8th house this is a trait that takes time to cultivate. Your lesson in this life is to learn that settling down and committing in no way shape or form takes away any ability for you to live or explore the world any more than you would’ve been capable without! It’s okay to love and belong to something the world won’t stop moving I promise. Stop sabotaging relationships that are good for you just because you’re afraid of missing out on a party that’ll never come.
Who you share it with: Martin Luther king, Mikey Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Mariah Carey, snoop dog.
Fictional characters like you:
Kevin Garvey & matt lamison(the leftovers)HBO
Lenny busker & Kerry loudermilk(Legion)
John Shelby & May Carleton(peaky blinders) Netflix
🐎kid bloom - I kissed a girl and she kissed me
🐎Roosevelt - Montreal
8th house Capricorn cusp:
Ah Capricorn in the 8th your were born with wisdom, wisdom that both to your befit and detriment has aged you before you were even able to waddle across the ground. You have a more astute nature about you, one that makes it clear to others that you’re not to be trifled with. Often there is a heavy energy that shrouds you, capable of bringing a room to a complete stand still once mastered-though in the same token this ability of respect also causes alienation amongst those closest and dear. The world in your eyes is a constant high rise uphill battle, one you refuse for any reason to let get the jump upon you. The bravado and tenacity you’re capable of at times can get you to the top but at what cost? The question for natives of this placements is wether or not power and prestige tower over love and care? Money and glory or intimacy and vulnerability? Your lesson plain and simple is to open your heart, allow the inevitability or a let down or a sad day to touch your heart! Because even though you’d like it not to be true you feel pain and you need a gentle hug as much as the person besides you.
Who you share it with: Albert Einstein, lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
🐺Chris isaak - wicked game
🐺placebo - running up that Hill
8th house Aquarius cusp:
You were born with a natural detachment from your own body, There has always been a at times cold, yet alarmingly far away nature about you. These natives where often the unproblematic child when growing up on an emotional level, sure outburst were occupant from time to time-but that more childlike and often emotive nature present in us all just wasn’t there with these natives. The older you get the more detachment begins to embody you often leading to the creation similarly to Gemini of alter egos, varying emotional responses, along with altogether emotional alienation. The processing of emotions is either non existent-or a painful process for you leading to avoidance of the big picture which is usually that these natives repress childhood trauma and even present trauma to the point of numbness-leading to a plethora of random, and seemingly obscure emotional reactions at inappropriate moments or moments of aloneness. Either you feel it or you don’t and often times you prefer it to be the latter which can often create an aura of being out of reach which causes many who romantically or even are related to these individuals to seek out reactions from the natives by any means which only serves to further cause the native to dive into themselves. Your lesson is to confront the big bad red door that you’ve placed so many chains upon, take it day by day, year by year if need be and slowly but gradually confront all those demons! Learn their names, their triggers, their motives and their sob stories-and feel every painful rushing feeling-let yourself be alive.
Who you share it with: Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, bill gates, will smith, Mel Gibson, Tyra Banks & George w. Bush.
Fictional characters like you:
Legion(legion)FX
Elliot alderson & Joanna wellick(Mr. robot) USA
Lydia & Allison argent(teen wolf)MTV
🌫Stardust - music sounds better with you
🌫 Daughter - run
8th house Pisces cusp:
You were born with a deep receptivity to this world. Often times emotions much like Scorpio and cancer here are the theme but in a much more powerfully cosmic sense! You feel the world around you-it’s tension and quiet underflow which often can be easily overwhelming for these natives unknown to those whom happen to be close to them. Their is a sense of grief for these natives one that colors them even in their happiest moments it always seems like something is wrong and slightly adjacent. Intimacy is something that comes naturally for these natives but is also something that’s subtly avoided out of fear of being so dependent on another that the ego itself is lost in the transaction. They deeply fear the loss of their own selves through another which often causes a repulsion to the idea of sex or commitment yet Pisces nature always somehow leads them directly into the fray as if it were a moving train. Your love is very genuine and true but it can also be so honest and sincere that those whom aren’t ready often find themselves either attracted to what they can take from you or feel as though they don’t deserve you. Your lesson is to grasp yourself from the world of the spiritual-to create an earthy manifestation to ground yourself with, to learn and feel through the energy around you and see who’s deserving and who’s using you-to love the world but also to allow yourself to be loved in the same passion you do it. Stop absorbing all the personalities around you and cultivate your own otherwise you’ll lose track of the real you.
Who you share it with: Marilyn Monroe, Donald trump, Johnny Depp, Drake, Selena Gomez
Fictional characters like you:
Dolores(westworld)HBO
Alison Lockhart & Helen solloway(the affair) showtime

With humidity and city grime, chances are you suds up your strands more often in summer. But Whitney Bowe, a dermatologist in New York, suggests rethinking the way we wash our hair. “People love to lather,” Dr. Bowe said. “We’re obsessed with this squeaky-clean feeling and then putting on conditioner with silicones that act as a Band-Aid for your hair. Instead we should be cutting out harsh detergents. We should be preventing damage from happening in the first place.” She's hardly alone in her philosophy. Bare Beauty Naturals has created a plant based sulfate free shampoo that eliminates harsh detergents and sulfates from your hair routine. The single product, Mango Colada, the Curl Box, with both Deep and Leave in conditioners or Black Rose, the plant based, sulfate free shampoo with deep detox Activated charcoal can replace both your shampoo and conditioner and address all hair textures. The plant based products may be a change from your normal routine, but they can produce nice, hair-softening results.

18 January 2020
Day eight: more like day GR-EIGHT
Thea,
I am proud to say that I am NOT capitalism's bitch anymore! We had a bit of a wild morning. We were scheduled to meet for "class" at 9 am today, but at 8:50, Dr. K came in and told us some fun news. There's a dive shop/community that hosts reef cleaning events, so we were given the option of exploring the local gift shops (most of which are owned by a cruise company, but that's delving into a whole other injustice for the reef), or diving for trash. I will say, the thought of a free morning was very tempting, but I ultimately sided with jumping into the harbor so salty, that when drying off, visible chunks of salt were left atop my skin.
Why did I have to question whether I'd go? I was the only one from my house that tagged along, so there was some obvious "oh shit, is it ok if I indulge myself in some rest?" vs. "I have an obligation to my home. And this is my home."
We arrived early, and there were around 100 divers, ready to volunteer their morning to sorting out issues that are overlooked by those who use the island as a resource. I was talking to the lady running the event (and so help me, all I could hear was, "interview her and run it in the Observer!"), and she told me the dive community hosts maaaany regular clean-ups: the large one we went to today was their Quarterly clean-up (every 3 months, and it's typically off the piers where cruise ships dock [remind me to tell you the TEA about cruises!!]) ; every member will do a weekly clean-up of their home reefs (off of their own house); every other week they host a "community" clean-up for larger beaches, where there's usually about 20-30 divers.
Next to these large organizations, I feel so insignificant a factor in the fight for ecological justice. I don't know how I am to fight against those who only see value in what can be sold. I have a while to figure that one out.
After the clean-up, we were watching the volunteers sort through the trash, piling beer bottles into one recycling bin, corroded metals in another. There was something peculiar happening on the edge of the water, however. There was a man with a huge hollow tube, emptying the water from it. He then proceeded to pour (roughly) 15 lionfish onto the cement, pick one up, and began cleaning (gutting) the fish into the ocean. I must say, I've never seen someone so fearless or so efficient. He spoke mainly swedish, and with the help of the lady standing next to him, we had a good chat. Lionfish are an invasive species in the pacific, and they have no natural predators. He explained that after 15 years or so, there's one or two native fish who are beginning to hunt them. Because they're invasive, there's no regulation on fishing them, so he's been fishing lionfish since 2009, when the crisis went very public. He was a cool guy, with many stories to share, I wish we had the time to sit down for a bit longer.
I just want to learn from finding people who intrigue me and asking questions, and just exploring how it is they do what they do. People are so fascinating.
In the afternoon, we snorkeled off a beach composed of the softed sand on the island. Most of the beaches are chunky pieces of shells and have large pieces of coral washed up. This reef was the healthiest we've seen so far (and probably at all). There was an article published in 2011 about how the reefs of Bonaire were the last "healthy" reefs anywhere in the Caribbean; from what I've seen, there are no healthy reefs left here. There's a coral genus called Acropora, and the two most abundant in that category are critically endangered. On any given shoreline, there are chunks of washed-up staghorn and elkhorn coral, which has caused major shifts in the three-dimensionality of most of the reefs. White band is a disease that has devastated the reefs and almost completely eliminated its natural presence. I saw some today! Staghorn, to be exact. We saw the damage the disease had done throughout the week, but we were finally able to see the beauty which it has destroyed. They were growing through graveyards of its fallen relatives: piles and piles of bleached corals. Hopefully there's something inspirational to be said about overcoming what has broken down hundreds of ecosystems before.
This is my water for the day. I like to think that one day the river will slow and I'll learn to channel what it brings me. For now, all I have is my leaky boat to see what I can keep; however, I just wrote in my last email about learning to understand that there is beauty in what cannot be contained. Perhaps this is our uncontained beauty. We can strive to retain it all, but there will always be knowledge to seek, and knowledge forgotten.
I miss you, Thea.
yours,
olivia
(PS: hello this is wholesome again, could you possibly/maybe/definitely send me your Tshirt size just for funsies I just want to know for future reference there may or may not be birds involved, thank you in advance)
(PPS: You should definitely tell me so I can find something I can pull over your head before my hands slide down your body and my mouth follows their path)

Day eight: joie de vivre
Captains log:
Seven days until I can hold an Angel
Fun fact: Did you know that Spanish moss is called that because native peoples thought it looked like the hair of Spanish conquistadores’ beards?
This morning, I was privy to the conversations of the Tickfaw State Park’s canopy. I walked with the birds and observed the transient hours between night and day. I heard one avian neighborhood wake up as another drifted into the quiet hours.
Waiting to receive my destiny
Maybe this is it, that this shall be my life: to protect and know and serve these communities with all I have, for as long as I shall live. Although I am new to this area, we are not strangers. I have known these organisms with all the intimacy of textbooks and nature documentaries. We are mine, and I am theirs.
Robin Wall Kimmerer says that naming is the first step to justice. When I learn these species’ names, I feel like I am closer to who I’m supposed to be. And like I’ve made a new friend in the process.
To be surrounded by the presence of __ trees on all sides — that is holy and right. The peace I’m experiencing here that tempers my small fear of the unknown is unlike any I’ve known before aside from the circle of your arms.
I gave everyone nicknames by campfire last night, and I’m hoping they stick: Po’Boy, Bubba, Scout, Mudbug, Old Man River, Swamp King, Papí Tierra, Smokey, Chaps, Yessir, Big Ben, Ducky, Daddy Longlegs, Oregano, and Noodle. I’m Giggles. I think I would name you Ma Cherie.
Here’s a list of all the species I heard and/or saw today: palmetto, slash pine, gum cypress, barred owl, great horned owl, northern cardinal, swamp chestnut oak, duckweed, black willow, button brush, possum haw, hyacinth, salvania, Spanish moss, cormorant, great blue heron, great egret, penny wort, nut grass, October daisies, myrtle, and red-winged black bird!
Look at me, baby! Louisiana’s makin me a birder.
Some more movin pictures:
Captain Kim crackin jokes and tellin hunting stories and demonstrating four different osprey calls in a boat with thick nylon netting all around the bow to minimize the deadly risk of jumping Asian carp, which can get up to 50 lb. He’s grizzly and real sour about the “son of a guns” who fuck around the bayous (which means “little river” in Choctaw): doin highly illegal shit, leaving their plastic duck ponds, shooting gators and leavin ‘em to rot in the water. But it’s clear he really loves this place. After 17 years in army aviation, his home is the Atchafalaya with his 90 year old father and son, all of whom are boat captains. He’s also a Taurus!
Watching the carpet of nut grass and penny wort and hyacinth in Bayou Filip sway under the wake of our boat and seeing your face in the wonder of every petal the light touched
Treading softly on the earth of Whitney Plantation — the only plantation in Louisiana that focuses on the enslaved rather than the slave owners — after our tour guide said, “We don’t know where enslaved people are buried, so please have respect for the grounds.”
Stopping at Dollar General after our plantation tour and getting strawberry ice cream on a stick because yes we all ate our feelings
Listening to the St. James Infirmary Blues and cutting my eyes across the yellow ruderals popping up from the highway medians, which Louisiana folks call “neutral zones”
We walked the land that enslaved people were forced to serve and I have not completely come to terms with how I’m feeling yet.
It is just... land. I found myself shocked to recognize small white waters and rose bushes peeking up from the soul. There are nests in the myrtle trees and flocks of red-winged blackbirds making songs above slave quarters. There is the same sawgrass I touched in the Everglades growing next to thick tracts of sugar cane. I expected the land to bear some sort of brand: a scar that marked this place as the site of great suffering — great evil.
But the grass grows over all of us in the end. And maybe none shall know that we were ever there: what tragedies became of us, what victories we celebrated...
This land is flesh. This land is body. This land is struggle as much as it is earth. Our tour guide, Henrietta, can trace her ancestry back to a grandfather who sharecropped the land in the ‘70s (not nearly so long ago) and a white great-grandfather who was ostracized by his community for marrying a black woman. when she gives tours, she visits the quarters of her family.
There is still pain here and in the heart of this country, which tries to forget at all times its foundation of fear in order to escape reparation and personal responsibility.
We go to the Louisiana University Marine Consortium (LUMCON) research center tomorrow, and I am keen to have a day of rest (if you can call kayaking after a 3 hr car trip “rest”) after all this time. It feels like we’ve been here for months already.
I’ll see you soon, baby. Tell the coral I say, “hiiiii!”
Your girl,
TG
P.S. (NSFW - like,,, filthy)
I could go stupid thinking about the slickness between your thighs, the smooth parting of them after I wrest the roughness of your jeans from you. I swear I have been struck dumb by the thought of cupping the front of those jeans while I mouth at your shoulder, lest you forget that everything beneath my hand is mine. I crave the snag of your panties underneath my teeth and the grasp of your fingers in my hair as I adore you from the inside. But most of all, I long to identify the meaning of each whimper, each moan, each “please” and hope that you’re ready to learn how to beg.
P.P.S.
I’m a medium or a large :) What is YOUR t-shirt size?

Guide about premature skin aging and beauty sleep
Many things cause our skin to age. Some things we cannot do anything about; others we can influence.
One thing that we cannot change is the natural aging process. It plays a key role. With time, we all get visible lines on our face. It is natural for our face to lose some of its youthful fullness. We notice our skin becoming thinner and drier. Our genes largely control when these changes occur. The medical term for this type of aging is “intrinsic aging.”
We can influence another type of aging that affects our skin. Our environment and lifestyle choices can cause our skin to age prematurely. The medical term for this type of aging is “extrinsic aging.” By taking some preventive actions, we can slow the effects that this type of aging has on our skin. ZKO Anti Aging Cream Reviews http://www.antiagingwise.com/zko-anti-aging-cream-reviews-does-it-work
11 ways to reduce premature skin aging
The sun plays a major role in prematurely aging our skin. Other things that we do also can age our skin more quickly than it naturally would. To help their patients prevent premature skin aging, dermatologists offer their patients the following tips.
1. Protect your skin from the sun every day. Whether spending a day at the beach or running errands, sun protection is essential. You can protect your skin by seeking shade, covering up with clothing, and using sunscreen that is broad-spectrum, SPF 30 (or higher), and water-resistant. You should apply sunscreen every day to all skin that is not covered by clothing.
2. Apply self-tanner rather than get a tan. Every time you get a tan, you prematurely age your skin. This holds true if you get a tan from the sun, a tanning bed, or other indoor tanning equipment. All emit harmful UV rays that accelerate how quickly your skin ages.
3. If you smoke, stop. Smoking greatly speeds up how quickly skin ages. It causes wrinkles and a dull, sallow complexion.
4. Avoid repetitive facial expressions. When you make a facial expression, you contract the underlying muscles. If you repeatedly contract the same muscles for many years, these lines become permanent. Wearing sunglasses can help reduce lines caused by squinting. foods for dry skin and wrinkles http://www.antiagingwise.com/top-10-foods-for-dry-skin-and-wrinkles-anti-aging-diet-defense
5. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. Findings from a few studies suggest that eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables may help prevent damage that leads to premature skin aging. Findings from research studies also suggest that a diet containing lots of sugar or other refined carbohydrates can accelerate aging.
6. Drink less alcohol. Alcohol is rough on the skin. It dehydrates the skin, and in time, damages the skin. This can make us look older.
7. Exercise most days of the week. Findings from a few studies suggest that moderate exercise can improve circulation and boost the immune system. This, in turn, may give the skin a more-youthful appearance.
8. Cleanse your skin gently. Scrubbing your skin clean can irritate your skin. Irritating your skin accelerates skin aging. Gentle washing helps to remove pollution, makeup, and other substances without irritating your skin.
9. Wash your face twice a day and after sweating heavily. Perspiration, especially when wearing a hat or helmet, irritates the skin, so you want to wash your skin as soon as possible after sweating.
10. Apply a facial moisturizer every day. Moisturizer traps water in our skin, giving it a more youthful appearance.
11. Stop using skin care products that sting or burn. When your skin burns or stings, it means your skin is irritated. Irritating your skin can make it look older.
Note: Some anti-aging products prescribed by a dermatologist may burn or sting. When using a prescription anti-aging product, this can be OK. Just be sure to let your dermatologist know.
Never too late to benefit
Even people who already have signs of premature skin aging can benefit from making lifestyle changes. By protecting your skin from the sun, you give it a chance to repair some of the damage. Smokers who stop often notice that their skin looks healthier.
If signs of aging skin bother you, you may want to see a dermatologist. New treatments and less-invasive procedures for smoothing wrinkles, tightening skin, and improving one’s complexion are giving many people younger-looking skin.
A well-rested sleep is essential to waking up energized and alert, but if you get quality zzzs, will you also wake up prettier? There are many benefits that come from getting enough shut eye, and it turns out, there’s a reason some call it beauty sleep: "It's essential for repairing the skin," Debra Jaliman, M.D., a New York City dermatologist and author of Skin Rules.
While some might think it’s just a catchy phrase, beauty sleep is a real thing, confirms Whitney Bowe, M.D., a New York City dermatologist and author of Dirty Looks. “When we sleep, our stress hormone (cortisol) goes down and our sleep hormone (melatonin) goes up. Our body, and our skin, are in repair mode.” In other words, nighttime gives our skin the opportunity to recover from any daytime damage.
If you want your skin and hair to look younger and healthier before you even start your daily beauty routine, here’s everything you need to know about getting a good night's sleep the night before:
What are the benefits of beauty sleep?
Brighter, de-puffed eyes
“Lack of restorative sleep can leave your eyes looking puffy in the morning. Why? Because, when you’re under stress, your cortisol levels rise, and this changes the salt balance in your body. In turn, this can lead you to retain water – hence, puffiness,” says Dr. Bowe. For less puffy eyes, try the above extra-pillow trick to help drain fluids! "When you lie flat, fluid can gather around your eyes," explains Elizabeth Tanzi, M.D., a dermatologist in Washington, D.C.
Youthful, glowing skin
When we sleep, our skin is busy healing itself from damage we might have sustained in the day from UV rays or pollution. “In fact, studies show that new skin cells grow faster while you sleep,” says Dr. Bowe. “Take advantage of this period of skin renewal and restoration by cleansing skin before bed and choosing products that will optimize this recovery period so that you wake up with healthier skin." how can i make my hands look younger naturally http://www.antiagingwise.com/how-to-make-my-hands-look-younger-naturally
Fewer wrinkles and lessened signs of aging
Time might be passing as we’re sound asleep, but our skin’s clock turns backwards during that time. “If nothing else convinces you to go to bed on time, let maintaining youthful-looking skin be the one that does,” urges Dr. Bowe. To make sure you wake up wrinkle-free, both Dr. Bowe and Jesleen Ahluwalia, M.D., suggest you sleep on your back. "Repeated pressure on the skin, causing creasing, can eventually lead to set-in lines," says Dr. Ahluwalia.
“The deeper layers of your skin are working at night to repair damage from the environmental stressors they encounter all day long. Your skin is also working to build new collagen, which keeps your skin firm and smooth,” explains Dr. Bowe. “This is why you really want to choose your nighttime products strategically to optimize your skin’s recovery during those restful, restorative hours!”
Healthier, stronger, and longer hair
Beauty sleep actually contributes to beautiful, fuller hair, too “Sleep is actually needed for proper protein synthesis of your hair and it can impact your hormones, which will also have an impact on your hair’s growth and appearance,” says Dr. Bowe.
How many hours are necessary for beauty sleep?
When it comes to snoozing, the magic number falls between seven and eight hours of rest per night, but Dr. Bowe reminds us it’s not only the amount of sleep that matters, but the quality of our rest too. “Not all sleep is equally restorative,” explains Dr. Bowe. REM sleep happens at some point in the middle of the night, so rather than hitting the snooze button on weekends, Dr. Bowe suggests going to bed earlier and waking up at the same time every morning.
What does sleep deprivation do to your face?
“You look tired.” It’s easy for our friends and colleagues to tell when we haven’t gotten our beauty sleep thanks to pesky dark circles and lackluster skin. “Our body perceives loss of sleep, or lack of quality of sleep as stress,” says Dr. Bowe. “Those stress signals not only cause breakouts, but also make skin less capable of trapping moisture and it slows down skin cell turnover.”
What should you apply to your face before sleeping?
Face cleanser
Not taking off your makeup at the end of the day can cause pores to get clogged, which can then lead to breakouts. Dr. Bowe recommends,“a gentle, pH balanced cleanser that will not strip your skin of its healthy oils and that will maintain the slightly acidic environment your skin barrier needs to remain intact and healthy,” like Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser (a Good Housekeeping favorite face cleanser!).
An anti-aging night cream
Never skip your nightly cream or serum. These products work better during the "repair cycle of the skin," which is at night, Dr. Jaliman says. An anti-aging night cream cream or serum with vitamin A or retinol before bed will help counteract fine lines, says David Leffell, M.D., a professor of dermatology and surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.
These ingredients are “often added to topical skincare products to promote skin renewal, brighten skin tone, reduce acne and boost your skin’s collagen production,” explains Dr. Bowe. Alternatively, hyaluronic acid attracts water into the skin, which helps smooth wrinkles, confirms Francesca Fusco, M.D., a New York City-based dermatologist. Don't forget lip balm and lash conditioner, too!
