Heyyyy everybody!!! We’re back!!! :3
Anyway our return post is calling out Devon Corp.
Insider info was recently leaked from their company, they have apparently been using life energy of wild pokemon to fuel their rockets at the mossdeep space center for the last 10 years, killing about 30k pokemon per year to obtain the energy they use.
@/teamplasmaofficial was absolutely right in some aspects. Big corporations like that are legitimately killing thousands of Pokémon per year for weekly rocket launches.

( @taraka-at-naranjauva Since the last ask went private, here’s a different one)
So you have an entire Island to care for Pokemon on? How do you get everything you need? Boat? Airplane? Underground tunnel? Maybe even teleporting? Oh, and Hi! I’m Cossie!
Hi Cossie! It's a small island off the coast of Hoenn, where Lynn and I are from. We provide a lot for ourselves, growing most of our own food and harvesting solar, wind, and water energy. For the things we can't produce, most of it is brought to us by cargo ship. When we are able to order from small businesses, it's either sent by the PC system or Pokémon delivery.
Pokéballs are fun to talk about: we have a recycling agreement with Devon Corp. in Rustboro. Almost all Pokémon come to us in some kind of Pokéball, and they all leave here in a Great Ball. We send all of our old balls back to the company and buy the Great Balls back at a heavily discounred price. A Rotom Drone comes by once a month to make the trade off!

Hello again! Twilight, was it? Welcome back to the Fossil Lab! What can we do for you today?
Hi! I have a fossil for restoration. Several, actually, but I'll have one of my research assistants bring over the others later. She'll be wearing all orange, you can't miss her. Right now, I'd very much like to watch the restoration process and learn all about the machine you use, if that's okay?
Of course! Right this way. May I see the fossil?
Here you go. We found a few others like it in the caves, but this is the best-preserved sail I've seen.
Oh, yes, that's a very nice specimen. I have no doubt the restoration will work with this. The machine is right here. We just have to insert the fossil here, align it like this... stay back from that area, please, that's where the resurrected pokemon is constructed.
Right. Is over here okay?
That's fine. So, how this works is, obviously we don't have an entire ancient pokemon here in the rock, so we have to extrapolate from what we do have: this sail. Most of what this machine does is simply finding the right material within the fossil that encodes the essence of the pokemon it used to be – and then making sure the data is complete enough to use. That's what it's doing now.
And it doesn't matter what part of the ancient pokemon is actually preserved as the fossil? The entire pokemon can be reconstructed from any piece?
Almost any piece. Sometimes we see fossils that are too small, or are more just the imprint of a pokemon's feature in the rock rather than the body part itself. It's always hard, telling trainers there's nothing we can do with the specimen they brought in, but we're not miracle workers here.
How does the actual reconstruction work?
From a purely technological standpoint, that's actually the easy part. Doesn't sound like it would be, I know, but... I suppose you could say we cheat a little. We have to, or it might be impossible. We use something called Infinity Energy, which is... you could call it the pure energy of life, perhaps?
Really? Fascinating. Would this be connected to the tales of the legendary pokemon Xerneas, who governs life?
Oh, very good! Some say so, yes – Devon Corp's founder included, actually – but the truth is, no one has seen any trace of Xerneas in ages. We actually collect the sap of an odd tree out near Geosenge Town and refine it, and that gives us enough Infinity Energy to work with. One bucket is usually enough to last a year of operations, two if it's a slow period for the archaeologists. Last I heard, I think someone was putting up a building around the tree, a science center of sorts. Sounds like a good idea, just to keep it safe from accidents.
Must be a special tree. There was something like that in the world I came from, actually. A blue, crystalline looking tree which contained immense magical power, specifically relating to harmony and order. The most powerful artifacts we had for defending Equestria came from that tree... though they had to be given back so the Tree could restore its power, and then... well, we–
Hold on, is it activating? Is that the reconstruction working?
It is! You brought a quality fossil, Twilight. Looks like we're getting a... probably an amaura. See the two sails forming on the top of the head?
Oh, this is so cool! Yes, I see, it's working so well! And so quickly, too, wow. I suppose I should get out a pokeball.
I suppose so! We've never had an incident so far where a reconstructed pokemon was hostile and had to be battled right here in the lab, thankfully, but a ball is usually good just as convenient transport.
And there we go! One amaura, resurrected from ancient times! What are you going to name her?
I don't know. I was going to offer this one to my friend Fluttershy to add to her team, since she's taking on the gym challenge.
Well, I wish her luck! Is there anything else you needed here at the lab?
Nope, not today. Thanks so much. Just keep an eye out for my assistant and that will be all!

OKAY OKAY ONE MORE POST ABOUT LISIA'S MOM!!!!
I think she never really liked the Stones all that much. I don't know how public it is that the Devon Company is using infinity energy or not, but regardless she always thought the company was pretty disrespectful to pokemon and it's environment. Then walks in the business meeting between Devon Corp ( the Stones) and their family for whatever reason. Remember that post I made about how Steven n Wallace first met? Yeah, so Lisia's mom was fully expecting to hate little Steven at the time, only to find out he snuck into the cave or origin, and dragged her admittedly stick in the mud little brother with him. On one end, she was upset that Steven disrespected their family's tradition like that, saying " it's a very Stone thing to do". On the other hand, she found it incredibly hilarious and liked Steven's grit. Especially when Wallace came home complaining about the whole thing. It was amazing, Steven immediately got on her good side lmao. I still think she thought he was annoying at times, like Wallace, but he grew on them both.
Okay, I think I'm done now. Sorry, the sudden brainrot is real.

voltagedoubler: [Continued From Here] ...“Indeed, you’re right. If it went over the limit of the energy it’s supposed to hold, it would most likely fry and then either needs fixing or explode. I would know because I’m an inventor and I tend to build inventions.” These kind of semiconductors especially from Devon Corp are quite expensive. “Oh, right! I’m Clemont!”
...
Turo's eyes lite up as soon as he heard Clemont was an inventor! He was so glad his instincts were right on that assumption! So joyous was this information to the man, he couldn't hide the excitement in his voice!
Tumblr media
"That's a beautiful thing! You'll the creating things that help progress humanity forward to a better future! Even if it's something big like streamlined teleportation of mass goods or something small like a soda can opener for the disabled, each invention can impact the lives of countless people!" While his dramatics could have gone on, his eye caught something with the machine they were both investigating.
"Ah! Do you have an electric pokemon? My Kilowattrel has Volt Absorb, so could handle any access charge this machine has. If we could see how it runs at max capacity, then we should be able to quickly pinpoint the most problem areas without having to deconstruct it!"

{ ooc. Jack got me thinking about Mr Stone/the devon corporation again in ORAS
"Let me first take us back 3,000 years, to the days when this story began… There was a great war at that time, in a region far from here. That war was finally brought to an end by a weapon created by one man. And what energy source could power such a dreadful weapon? Do you know? You see… It ran on the life energy of Pokémon. The energy that could be gained by the sacrifice of so many Pokémon… There are surely many people who would call it reprehensible. But my grandfather, the president of Devon before me, said this… "Couldn't we use the energy to improve the lives of people and Pokémon?" And so he developed our greatest creation here at the Devon Corporation: Infinity Energy."
This is an entire onion's layers worth of fucked up. At best, devon corp is mega evolving pokemon repeatedly to harness that energy. At worst, they're draining the life force from pokemon. Both are Not Good }

ESSAYER ENCORE
RATER ENCORE
RATER MIEUX
