As another girl who takes impeccable care of her skin and hair I must object. Three hours? The only times it's taken me more than a single hour, shower included, has been in preparation of cosplay or the likes. And I do take long showers, Lynn was glaring at me just the other day for using up all the hot water.
... Hey so what's that really happy feeling where you look in a mirror and feel happy?

As you can see from my user name and profile picture, I love mimikyu. The one in the profile picture is my own named Lilith. I came here because I wanted some advice about something weird happening. My cousin recently adopted a mimikyu herself, named Ash. Ash had been behaving fairly normally for a while, save his avoidance of cameras, but recently someone tried to take his picture and he freaked out! Lashing out at the person, snatching the camera and even breaking it. He then went into hiding and we couldn’t find him for a couple of days. He’s calmed down but he’s been sulking for a while. Is there a possible reason for this behavior and is there a way to help him?
Well this could be a lot of things. Since you are a Mimikyu trainer yourself, we can probably knock a few things off the list that you would have already caught, such as diet or enrichment issues. There could be a problem with their costume, either in need of repair or it doesn't suit them. Some Mimikyu prefer to wear different popular Pokémon costumes other than Pikachu. The avoidance of cameras in general could also be related to that. If nothing else works, you could reach out to the shelter Ash was adopted from to see if they have any insight. Shelters keep records of the Pokémon they've rescued, so if this behavior was noticed before they would be able to tell you.
Glad to see some love out there for ghost types. They were feared for so long because of misinformation permeating even through official records like the Pokédex, so it's good to see so many people adopting them even in the "off season".

Some Skitty varieties! The hoenn forest skitty is actually the original version of this cat pokemon. After being domesticated they were bred into many different breeds, like the munchkin, siamese or skittish fold.  Each of them can come in all kinds of fur patterns like striped (munchkin) or calico (forest skitty) but most common are the simple fur patterns (like the skittish fold). The pretty fur pattern breeds are a perfect choice for pokemon contests, while the wilder type is great for battles. But of course they’re all just great as pets too!

It's baby season! The spring garden is sprouting with all kinds of little guys. We've gotten some lovely light rain today, perfect for curling up with a good book or maybe a studio ghibli movie. My adorable stupid little dumb dumb Meowth is mooing around the house begging for cuddles and snacks.

Pet that belly, its not a trap. He'll make air biscuits.
Everyone we follow seems to be miserable and stressed lately. Does anyone have anything fun and silly to lighten the mood?

You can get it non-dairy too! Made from nut or oat or soy milk. Also, bananas, nanab berries, and the fruit you grow on your head are often frozen and blended to make "nice cream", so you can get something similar just by eating those fruits!
It's snowing outside, so obviously now I am going to do the logical thing and eat ice cream.

I'm designing a logo for the facility, which Pokémon do you think should be featured? My Drifloon, Dusk, is the whole reason I am on this path. My Gardevoir, Pearl, makes breaking down communication barriers with my patients possible. And the uniform has Swablu on it even though that has nothing to do with us. What do you guys think?

I'd like to add on to this, if that's alright. If you are considering retraining your Pokémon for ranger duties, you should think about what their strengths are. My team is mostly suited for search and rescue, and specifically large groups quickly.
For example, my Torterra is a variant with a large, flat back, who I spent years with training the trees to grow in a circle around the edge of his shell. He can carry several hundred pounds at a time, and is an excellent swimmer, making him ideal for flood evacuation.
My Gengar has unmatched teleportation speed and accuracy, meaning he can blip in and out of burning or crumbling buildings to find the exact location of those in need of rescue and deposit them in a safe location.
My Charizard is an endurance flyer, not built for speed but can stay in the air for long periods of time, over the ocean or a forest fire, or rescuing Pokémon from one of those stupid evil team hot air balloons.
Lucario uses his aura sense to find out where victims are and the level of priority in who needs rescuing first, as well as being able to deescalate situations.
They all can battle, and most of them have had to, but they are also trained to avoid causing any real harm. We trained dexterity and speed over physical strength, and explored the creative ways that basic moves can be used. Vine Whip can be used to slap your opponent or to grab and restrain them.
As for rising in the ranks, Honey is completely right. I'm 32 years old and have been with the rangers since I was enrolled in the academy at 16, thats literally half my life. The closest thing I have to acknowledgement of my skills is that they agreed to let me settle down as an area ranger on Foster Island with the caveat that they can call on me at any time until I retire.
Also be warned, just like any organization, the rangers do have their issues. Endless red tape, paperwork, and fighting even against your superiors when you know you're right. There is always going to be something to complain about with any job, but at least with this one you know you are making a difference in the world, even if its just for a few people and Pokémon.
- Ranger Lynn Pulse
Thinking of becoming a ranger, can you be both a ranger and a pokemon trainer? Is it difficult to rise up the ranks? What kind or people will I have to interact with besides other rangers?
I would say - kindof. Being a pokemon trainer absolutely has benefits for applying to Ranger school, especially if you want to work in places other than Almia/Fiore/Oblivia. Anywhere that pokeballs are a staple to everyday life - Pokemon rangers mostly act like Trainers.
That being said there are also a lot of hoops to jump through. Training a battle pokemon and training a ranger pokemon are two different things. Most of my pokemon would lose in a flat out battle - but thats not their primary goal.
My two Nidorina are trained for crowd control and rescuing people from debris or accidents. Lamp the Sizzlipede is espionage and stealth - something we use a lot to deal with situations non-aggressively. Sol is basically a non-combatant, he exclusively works in urban enviroments to help deal with emergencies where people are trapped on upper stories of buildings. As an ariados he can safely attach anchor points or even carry small people or pokemon. Sully is in training to not be a little bitch 24/7 and my Fidough Zelda is a bit too young for serious work, but we are doing scenting classes and she's on her way to be a cadaver dog.
I think Sully is a good example of what could potentially happen with battle 'mons. They often are aggressive in stressful situations because thats how they have been conditioned. Battle is inherently stressful and not necessarily in a bad way. But a battle 'mon might not be able to distinguish between "battle stress" and "ranger emergency stress".
TLDR - Retraining a pokemon is a very long process - its not entirely impossible but it is something to be aware of when applying.
As for rising through the ranks - it isnt all that its cracked up to be. If you want prestige stick to being a trainer - you get no badges or accolades in this job.
And Uhhh to answer your question about people - its a mixed bag. You get to help a lot of people but also have to throw down with scum of the earth. Think of it like high stakes customer service except i can get the Karens arrested bc usually they are doing a funny lil thing called 'a violation of ethics'.

How lonely, but also how amazing, isn't it? That no two beings are exactly the same. Even those of us who are related; I have brown hair, blue-green eyes, and am relatively short, compared to my siblings who are both tall, one with darker hair and icy blue eyes and the other with lighter, curlier hair with bright grey eyes. I have met many Pokémon I could speak to, however I bet your voice would be a different experience entirely. But isn't it wonderful that there are so many different kinds of life? That despite all our differences, across different universes and the vast expanse of time, we are all alive in our own ways? We share so many things in common, needs for shelter and substance and compassion. We all begin our lives so small, and grow and age and die, and are all made of stardust and will one day return to it.
You may find others of your kind, or similar, by checking out the @aether-foundation-pr and other similar organizations? And if you simply wish to talk to other Pokémon, I could arrange a visit here for you where you could speak to Pearl or Olly?
I feel lonely. I haven't met anyone else like me in person since I arrived in the human world.

Hi Ellisa first I would like to thank you and Lynn for taking care of Bud during my … while I was indisposed and while I am recovering . Second over the past few days, I have been informed that during my recent medical emergency I alarmed many people, and would like to apologize for any inconvenience. I put you and Lynn through.
Bud was an absolute joy to have, hanging out with our other grass hybrids (Jean, Oliver, and Baggins), and keeping them out of trouble. We saved a handlful of cuttings and seeds if you're interested in any of those. We have not yet tried to germinate the seeds however the cuttings are growing roots in a glass of water in the greenhouse. I assure you, you caused us no inconvenience.
The caretaker in me wants to bop you in the head though. What were you thinking, preforming such a dangerous experiment all on your own when you know your friends would have helped had you asked? Please don't ever put your life in danger like that again! Also, not to pry, but if you ever want, we have top of the line therapist connections here at Foster Island. You've been through so much, but you have so many people who care about you and want to help.

Hey Professor? I was wondering if you think something like this could be used to help the "natural shadows" and Nimbus?
I've been doing a lot of research on the Pokémon affected by the Shadow Sky and how to return them to normal. Aside from maybe gene therapy, which I am not qualified to speak on, this seems to be the most promising and effective method I have seen for driving out the shadow energy.
It’s funny Alex is the person I usually have develop tech for me. It’s an art I’ve not mastered like them . It won’t be as pretty, but it should work.
