Thinking about makoto is so so so essential to plot of THH and the future of the rest of the series (even v3 to some extent) that if everything in sayaka’s plan went according to plan and she managed to pull a Tsumugi and get the main character killed, the game would honestly be over and then the rest of the series never happens. OR the game would at most last till chapter 5 because of Kyoko and then STOP because no one really cares after that after she dies.

#like no matter how much you try to switch who in THH becomes the protag these guys are just not cut out for it #the only person who I could see getting them to ATLEAST chapter 5 is Kyoko and maybe Byakuya #but then the train stops because with everyone having in alibi and no scape goat named Makoto. Kyoko is FUCKED. #and we all know Byakuya despite being intelligent isn’t going to look around the school for clues let’s be honest🧍🏾‍♀️ #so the four rot in that school till the day they die or Junko gets bored then kills them #also none of them have sheer optimism that man has in him #like you not going to sit here and tell me some like sayaka Leon or literally any of them have that capacity of either of those #(other than well Hina but that’s more on the optimistic side of things) #the second most optimistic person is hina yet even in chapter 6 she despaired too #you need someone who is naive yet strong in their optimism and puts a lot of faith in hope that things despite how bad situation is #will see the greener grass on the otherside and won’t let any doubts stop them from seeing that grass #the only other way if is Mukuro has a change of heart before she’s killed or DR:IF happens #12 am thoughts yippee!!! #(aka me coming up with shit on the spot instead of sleeping) #makoto naegi #dangan ronpa

How did you find out about Danganronpa and what drew you to Sakura?

I always knew about Dangan Ronpa, and just decided to get into it… randomly. Because it was popular and the game was being offered on Switch.

At first I didn’t like it, the game seemed offensive, especially with characters like Touko (awful DID stereotype) and Sakura (racist/colorist caricature(?) but despite Sakura striking me as a colorist caricature AT FIRST, she ended up being a wonderful and amazing character. I misjudged her. She breaks a TON of stereotypes with how sweet, noble, caring, loving she is. She would NEVER even hurt a fly, unless the fly was evil and hurt Hina or any of her friends.

Something still draws me into the game, despite it still being a trainwreck. And I will always love Sakura and Hina, and their relationship. It’s so moving. They’re my new OTP for sure.

I just realized something about the ending of DR1: Asahina is basically reversing what happened in the fourth trial here. She’s stopped imagining the idea of Oogami hating everyone else as a motivation to get all of them killed and instead she’s thinking about what Oogami would really want from her and using that to give her strength to pull ahead of this situation.

She’s no longer scared about what the killing game might take from her next like at the start of Chapter 3 but she’s now only concerned with what she can stop it from taking: that being her willpower to keep striving ahead instead of staying locked in place by fear and anxiety. Staying true to the bright, sunny, and energetic Aoi Asahina we all know her as.

I just thought that was pretty neat.

Anyway, I like to headcanon that Makoto Naegi doesn’t like Ryota Mitarai, even before any of the events of DR3. Not for any particular reason - just, y’know, sometimes people just rub you the wrong way, or your personalities clash, or whatever.

Except, Makoto Naegi is someone who feels like, neutral to positive about 99% of people he encounters and he absolutely does not know how to cope with this. There’s at least one frantic bitch session conversation with Togami like “Byakuya, I don’t know what to do!” and Togami is just sipping his tea like “I don’t think you need anything, Makoto, it’s fine.”

Okay, so. I headcanon certain characters in Dangan Ronpa to be black, or at least partially black.

Even though they all have Japanese names, I feel some of them are like… black-coded, mostly due to appearing dark. A lot of them even are questionable black stereotypes as well. (Yasuhiro, Sakura. I don’t have problems with them as characters because ultimately they aren’t bad, but I feel like they are darker skinned because the creator “could not imagine them being pale,” per se?)

Sakura and Hina are my favorite characters though. Sakura is black, and Hina is half-black, in my mind.

SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIERTY OF DANGANRONPA TRIGGER HAPPY HAVOC After Sakura's death, Aoi decides to kill herself. She ends up in a bizarre world of in-between, a place for people who have been the victims of murder. If you have committed suicide, you have 10 days maximum to decide whether you want to stay there or go back. Hina thinks it is best that she stays with Sakura, but Sakura is determined for Hina to live. It fluctuates between fluff and angst, and is very hurt/comforty. Also a lot of cheesy romance. Tw for suicide, panic attacks, survivors guilt, thats all I can think of rn, but I will say which chapter has what specifically. I do bend the canon a bit, but not too much. Also in this Mondo and Hina are close friends which is rarely shown. The two ships in this are Sakuraoi and Ishimondo, though the ishimondo is smaller than the Sakuraoi. I reposted this from my wattpad, because I cant sign into it, so yes this is my work. Also this is the first fanfic i ever posted so please be nice!
