i told myself i would stop being hater but the problem is over the fact that temuera morrison was supposed to show up as boba fett in season 3 of the mandalorian (RIGHT FULLY SO MIGHT I INCLUDE BECAUSE THEY STOLE EPISODES AWAY FROM HIM IN HIS OWN SHOW) and then it gets revealed that he didn't even get a call to come back??

you know what? i'm going to say it. it feels racist. everything recently feels racist. so you're going to take time away from the mandalorian's protagonist, played by a latino man, and give the spotlight to a white lady who's character has been OPENLY racist towards others (ESPECIALLY BOBA FETT) and give her the spotlight and make her ruler based off a technicality only AFTER she's lost it multiple times before? and then on top of that- you're gonna make a shitty ahmed best cameo ONE time that didn't even do him justice- AND THEN you're NOT going to include BOBA FUCKING FETT?? AND ANOTHER THING- YOU'VE WHITEWASHED THE BAD BATCH SO FUCKING MUCH THEY DON'T EVEN RESEMBLE TEMUERA AT ALL???? AND ALSO THAT ONE THING WHERE DISNEY CUT COMMANDER CODYS ROLE IN THE KENOBI SHOW??? so you take out two episodes away from boba's story in his own show. and then boba fett doesn't even get to show up in season 3 of the mandalorian. you take his role away, and then give the spotlight to bo-katan (i'm not even a bo-katan hater btw), who was openly racist towards boba because he was a clone and said that he wasn't deserving of his fathers armor. and then temuera morrison speaks up about it and NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING?? do you understand how fucking horrible that is? you've taken away so much from him and his influence on star wars- ESPECIALLY the influence on mandalorian culture from polynesian culture. like. i don't know how else to say this. i really don't. but it just feels so fucking racist. this is so wrong.

Whether I think my enemies and coworkers could successfully secure a perimeter:

The boy with glasses: No. He was very rude to me on the car ride back to my boss’s compound. He won’t secure anything with that attitude.

The Other Boy (Reynard I think his name was???): No. He, for some reason, broke down under my boss’s interrogation, when it turned out Martina Crowe was guilty, and he didn’t even do anything. So why did he look so nervous for no reason? He clearly doesn’t have what it takes.

Pink Girl: Yes. She was quite nice to me when I recounted my tale of glory. I believe she is more than capable, and that my story inspired her.

Wetherall’s Daughter: I don’t like her father, but she probably could with proper training. That bucket of hers does seem useful.

Wetherall: No, and it’s not because I hate him or because everyone thinks he’s so much stronger and better than me, so stop saying that. It’s because he nearly drowned because of a tiny eel bite. I was bitten by a cat once, and I didn’t nearly drown because of that. Wetherall is just weak.

Yellow Lady: She’d secure the perimeter and put up a good fight against most enemies, but against me, she wouldn’t stand a chance. The only reason her home was spared was because the boss told us to stand down.

Dr. Curtain (my boss): absolutely. No question about it. He’s a brilliant man.

My Boss’s Clone: Not many people know this, but the enemy my boss has asked me to track down looks suspiciously like him. I suspect he might be an evil clone. I plan to investigate this further, but in the event that I have to know which one is the real Dr. Curtain, my plan is to ask them to secure a perimeter. I’m sure Dr. Curtain is up to the task, but we’ve easily captured and electrocuted his clone before. That’s how you can tell the difference.

“Miss. Dipika Perumal”: She seems like a nice woman, but with such an obviously fake name and disguise, it’s unlikely she’d be able to secure the perimeter.

The Other Lady Working for My Boss’s Clone: I think she could do it. She found the root cellar pretty easily. But I’d need to see how she performs in the field first.

Dr. Garrison: No. We found her root cellar pretty easily, and so did a lot of other people. I don’t think she could secure a perimeter.

Jackson and Jillson: Absolutely not. They are not qualified to secure a perimeter or be in charge in Dr. Curtain’s absence.

Marlon: I don’t think he could secure a perimeter, but I don’t really think that matters, because I haven’t seen him in weeks. Maybe he quit?

Martina Crowe: No. She had the opportunity to walk away clean, and instead she betrayed Dr. Curtain for the traitorous Wetheralls. That was an unwise choice, and not the decision of a perimeter securing professional.

SQ: Yes. If his father could do it, then I’m sure his son can do it too.

Erika: Yes, but not as well as I could. I’m better. If Jackson and Jillson told you she was better, that’s only because they are jealous haters.

The Alpaca: No he could not. He’s an alpaca. I don’t know who started that rumor, but he could not secure a perimeter.

Flamebird Kon Guy again (I should start leaving some kinda signature), and Yes!! There’s so much about Krypton and it’s culture that cna be played with, and just barely gets touched on in regards to Kon and the other Kents and then being immigrants!! Like, on Krypton, clones literally had a civil war, and then centuries later, all of the children were born artificially anyways. Literally, Kon would be considered Clark’s kid by their standards, and that’s just never brought up or talked about!!

I’m a bit denier of the Bad Dad Clark fanon shit, but I do want to say, it would be so so INTERESTING to see this type of scenario played with. Kon who compares himself to Clark constantly, and has expressed insecurity over Clark keeping secrets from him and what he (Kon) means to him. And like, Clark has always rushed to assure Kon whenever these insecurities are made known, so something like this would have so much potential!!

But DC is too busy being Mfing haters 😒😒

Anywhores, sorry for the tangent. But this also plays into why I love Flamebird!Kon so much! Because there’s so much that can be explored with Kon taking that name. Imagine Clark telling him about Flamebird, a creature of passion who destroys not because she takes pleasure in it, but because it’s her duty to keep the spark from going out. Kon proudly wearing a name that Clark said he would be a good fit for, and every time they’re together or every time he’s alone, he can’t help but preen because it’s another name that Clark bestowed upon him, and that means something!!

anyway. yeah "bad dad clark" is my enemy and i'm setting this particular bit of fanon on fire and throwing it off a cliff. like... here's the nicest guy in the world! also he just hates this teenager for no reason. GET REAL. it's SOOOO much more interesting to give them a nuanced relationship (i also don't subscribe to them having a 100% nuclear family label in any way; i think it's somewhere between "brothers" and "father/son" and also both of them at the same time and also neither. no label fits them too well outside of simply "family"). but them having the struggle of "kon, esp younger early-in-his-narrative kon, craving parental affection from clark, who isn't quite able to give that to him the way he wants" is ABSOLUTELY my cup of tea and im so here for adding the extra layer of old kryptonian vs newer kryptonian culture as a further confounding variable. let them be complex and multifaceted!! the love is there but so are the issues, etc.

re: that last paragraph i can't also help but think of The Agonies... kon defining himself so much by clark's pride in him as a concept makes me wail into my hands. it's in-character Esp again when he's younger but also babygirl you are also your own person!!!! id love a narrative w flamebird kon where he first is so proud of it bc of clark but then grows to forge his own connection to flamebird's mythos and the deity herself too, in addition to the connection to his heritage through clark. kon's narrative re: individuality is just so gripping to me (even if we kinda have to imagine a lot of it bc dc does not want to deliver lmao) and that could be such a fun additional angle on it.

also this whole thing in general made me remember again how mad i am that rebirth just completely nuked the entire kon & clark relationship. clark just doesnt fucking remember him and by the looks of it/the way they wrapped it up so neatly re: house of kent arc, he never will. what the fuck!!!!! rebirth get out of my house bendis do NOT interact!!!!!!

Despite it being six years since The Last Jedi, the haters are still accusing Rian Johnson of 'demonising' Luke.

I have noticed quite a lot of them are Kylo haters...and argue that the ST 'made the OT heroes look bad' in order to 'make Kylo look good.'

Okay, we are all entitled to our own opinions...but at the end of the day, I, who LOVED the OT characters....didn't think it made them look bad at all.

Let me explain.

Some of the greatest heroes, in fiction but also in real life, have been crap parents. My bro, a HUGE Superman fan, read a comic where Clark was a father, and his son bemoaned the fact that he was never there...instead he was off 'saving the world.'

Many real life cops suffer from failed marriages because they had to put saving lives before being there for their kids. Male AND female cops.

Let's look at the OT characters.

Han - when we first meet him, he's a mercenary who refuses to help save Leia until he got paid. Yes, he did return and save Luke...but he was still a 'grey' character.

Luke - rash, impulsive and with 'much anger in him.' Luke eventually became a Jedi master, but made many mistakes along the way.

Leia - put the 'greater good' before everything else; even when her home world was threatened she lied rather than telling the Empire the truth. Brave to a fault, Leia still was more of a warrior/politician than anything else.

These qualities are why I loved the OT trio - I'd rather have a flesh and blood, human being as a hero, one I could identify with, than a Mary Sue like Rey any day.

The first two films in the ST didn't 'demonise' the OT heroes at all....in fact I believe they were true to character.

Leia candidly admitted that she had made a mistake sending her son away. Han admitted that he 'ran off' instead of doing something to get his son back. Both of them were emotionally scarred by their experiences with Vader - the man who tortured them - to the degree that every time their child had a tantrum they thought it was the dark side manifesting in him.

And then....Luke.

Luke also made a mistake....his mistake was looking into the future. It showed him Ben becoming Kylo....but, just as Anakin's vision of Padme dying was showing him what would happen if he 'fell', Luke's vision showed what would happen if something wasn't done to save Ben. It was a warning of how Ben's family were failing to see what Snoke was doing to him.

'Always in motion, the future.' Yes, Yoda.

'The future is not set' - John Connor, the Terminator.

At heart, the Skywalkers were a family haunted by tragic mistakes. Which is why Ben's survival and redemption was so very important to the final film in their saga, and why the choices made by DLF caused the entire trilogy to spectacularly fail. But, the first two films didn't 'demonise' any of the characters.

TROS did.

With Rey - reduced to an unlikeable judgemental skank. With Poe, reduced from the son of heroes to a drug smuggler. With Finn, reduced to Rey's groupie. With Kylo, whose wonderful development in TLJ was tossed down a garbage chute so Abrams and Terrio could turn him into a Vader clone (ironic as JJ repeatedly insisted he was anything but in TFA).

But most of all....with Leia.

Leia screwed up. She focused on rebuilding the Republic when she should have focused on her child, and what he was going through. But, in TFA Leia admitted it. She desperately wanted her son back. She sent him to Luke because she couldn't train him herself. And yes...she shouldn't have. But, she meant well. This was the Leia I loved in the OT.

I didn't know TROS Leia.

She was revealed as a half trained Jedi who could have chosen to train her troubled son herself. She chose not to. Instead, she chose to train his enemy. To in all likelihood kill him.

Even the scene where she 'reached out' to Ben almost cost him his life. And, at the end, she was 'glad' to take him with her in the afterlife...presumably because she had a nice shiny female virginal replacement.

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine Carrie being happy in how her character was treated. It broke my heart.

And yet years later, it is still the 'treatment of Luke' fanboys are whining about.

The fans that also ultimately are responsible for TROS.

Impression now: he's the wolf, he's the lamb, he's the sheep dog he's the shepherd, he's jesus christ. he's done unspeakale horrors he's a monument to the innate kindness of human beings in the face of mistreatment every parental figure in his life. he's been married for a decade and had a child with a man who i know owns more than one horny dakimura. he's the first video game character to ever say the word bisexual. he loves dogs. he's a clone of his father. his father who ignored him his entire life only told him he was his father to manipulate him before snake burned him alive with a macguyvered zippo flamethrower. kojima spend months modeling his ass. literally character of all time.

Favorite moment: "i'm not like you, i love life" "life is worth living even when it hurts you, even when you hurt it." everytime he does that shoulder grab and soulful eye stare at otacon, sunny, or raiden when they're filled with despair.

Idea for a story: he lives another happy fifty healthy years after the end of mgs4 i know this i learned this in a psychic attack from kojima.

Unpopular opinion: people who look at this man and see someone other than a bottom.....girl i cannot help you.

Favorite relationship: otasune my beloved. also him and sunny (father and daughter of all time 🥺🥺🥺, him and raiden (weh), whatever deranged shit he and kaz had going on take that how you will, and him and frankie 😩😩😩

Favorite headcanon: i have never gotten over that one post about hal putting on the first pokemon movie for sunny and dave seeing it and fully cat crying dot png because mewtwo's just like him fr

Luke is supposed to be Grogu's Jedi Master, but how is he supposed to teach Grogu how to let go, when he himself struggles not to hold onto parts of his past?

The answer: the trio go on stupidly a dangerous cross-galaxy road-trip in the rebuilt Razor Crest to a lost Jedi library in search of Jedi training tools. Pairing: Dinluke, DinMaul(ish).

As I learn more about star wars, I find myself such a little Jedi Knight hater?

They don't dedicate themselves of their own conviction, they get taken as babies. They're quite literally anti love and attachment - seems like maybe Luke would have taken a moral lesson from his father about that when creating a new school, but no. They're cops. They don't even wear cool armor. At best, they seem to be somewhat uncomfortable with the immorality of using the clones but can compromise their ethics for the convenience of an army. At worst, they don't care how the clones who don't want to fight care at all.

I'm finally watching clone wars and getting to the Boba episodes and I'm like, wow. Love the Jedi. Love how they *checks notes* arrest children with PTSD.

The light sabers are definitely more civilized though, that's fair.

Boba Fett is the most interesting example of a character retcon (or evolution) imo. First we have supertroooper/supercommando in white armor then Holiday Special cartoon and then movies. He is given some backstory in pre-prequels EU* books (is from Concord Dawn his real name is Jaster Mereel and he is journeyman protector and he, if im not mistaken!!, killed officer for ra*ing his wife and Boba was banished from Concord Dawn for good) but is still mysterious and also comics made him badass and mandalorians and mandalorian culture in born. He survived Sarlacc in the books and in the comics (he fall back in sarlacc twice in the comic!). Before AOTC premiere there was a comic in which we learn that he is/was married (Sintas was eighteen and Fett sixteen years old!!) and has a daughter (that EU* storyline was retconed and making a return (r*ped wife)) and he was not good father or husband. AOTC made him a clone of Jango Fett. This fact is present in all of later materials. Then there is also an EU* book series Legacy of the Force in which he trained the daughter of Han and Leia to fight his brother who turn to the dark side. Fact that he was married and has a daughter (and granddaughter) from the EU* material and the fact that he is a clone is present in this books and he is a leader of all the mandalorians. Of course canon Clone Wars gave him more character than in the movies (and gave us origin of the dent in his helmet in unfinished Clone Wars arc with Cad Bane. Then he suppose to be a main character in 1313 canceled game :/ Finally we see him alive and well in The Mandalorian series. The Bad Batch gave him a code name 'Alpha' and a sister Omega. He become a crime lord and ruler on Tatooine. New Marvel canon comics are good. And don't get me started with his appearance/armor evolution! From concepts to movies, animations and tv series maybe 15 different armors/outfits!!!!!! That's a lot!!!!!!!!

The fact that some of the early EU* facts made canon is promising. I'm talking about:

-Mandalorians and their culture

-Jaster Mereel (from Boba's name to adoptive father of Jango Fett)

-the fact that he survived sarlacc

- he is a ruler of people, maybe he will end up as Mand'alor like in EU* books!! Sorry Din you have no experience in this matter 🤷🏼‍♀️

And i'm happy that his marriage is no longer a thing.

The annoying thing about turning the tables on the whole 'if harry had been a girl' argument and framing it around sirius is, despite it being constantly directed at snape you will never see sirius being accused of anything even though theres arguably more text to support it. Like if it's bizarre and gross to say about sirius, then it has to be about snape as well, they can't have it both ways. its the same story when snapes teaching is picked apart, but the marauders bullying glossed over.

There's a few reasons why Sirius will never seriously be accused of such things when Snape is.

First, I’d like to believe that Snape fans, as a whole, are more mature than Sirius/Marauders fans. Older too, and while of course there are plenty of very mature Sirius fans, the loud majority that we see on social media are high schoolers, who are much more likely to simply repeat what they’ve read elsewhere without doing the minimum critical thinking required (and no, “critical thinking” doesn’t mean “say negative stuff about something”).

Second, heteronormativity. I’m straight, so maybe (definitely) I’m not the best person to be talking about this, but I’ll still tell you what I think. As Snape fans we’re often saying that Snape’s love for Lily could have been platonic, and it’s true. However, I do think that JK Rowling’s intentions where to make us think about romantic love. I’m also going by the fact that since she didn’t say anything about Snape’s and Sirius’ sexualities (like she did with Dumbledore), they’re both supposed to be straight.

So... if someone says that Snape could have been a pedophile if “given the chance”, saying the same thing about Sirius is way more harmful because then you’d “change” his sexuality from straight to gay/bi, and a pedophile. We all know that Sirius didn’t give much of a damn about Lily except her being his best friend’s wife, so Harry being a girl wouldn’t have changed much for him. But Harry being a boy, who looks like his father, and, in the “what if” AU, also acts like him (Harry being basically a clone of James) would appeal to him a lot more.

“I headcanon Snape as being creepy towards girl!Harry”, doesn’t sound the same as “I headcanon Sirius as gay and being creepy towards Harry”. Both are extremely disturbing, but one also has the added bonus of being homophobic.

Add to that the fact that people who say such things about Snape usually think of themselves as social justice warriors, who are against any form of discrimination (except against people who disagree with them, but hey, LOGIC, ammiright?), which makes them think it’s okay to accuse a straight white man of one of the worst crimes possible, but they draw the line at doing it for someone that in this alternate universe would be gay.

(again, this is coming from a cis straight person, so please correct me if I’m wrong)

Saying that Sirius could have acted inappropriately towards Harry is, like you said, more supported by the text than Snape’s towards girl!Harry, and yet in some ways feels like less of a stretch? I don’t know if I’m really clear here, but ugh, words are hard.

I do think that it’s not something anyone should say about any character. It’s not an argument hate on a character, it’s not clever, it’s not a “hot take”, and it makes the person who suggest it sound extremely creepy and disturbing for even thinking that it’s an acceptable thing to say.

”Oooh, what if Vader had decided not to kill the young Padawans but instead captured them for his own ‘enjoyment’, huh? and you still like the character despite that? you’re disgusting!” sounds particularly stupid. But then, haters aren’t known for their brainpower
