Most Kudos - This was This Is an Essay for years, but has been passed recently by Goes the Neighborhood, House MD, Teen, House/Wilson, set after episode 4-9. One month into their permanent positions, the new fellows catch a case on the weekend and have to track House down.

Most Comments - The Private Personal Blog of Dr. John H. Watson, Sherlock (TV), Teen, Johnlock QPR. WIP in blog-post format, currently 21 chapters, 9,757 words. I need to get back to this, as we have so much more story to cover. :)

Fourth Most Kudos - My Fathers' Son, House MD, General Audiences, House/Wilson, Major Character Death. House and Wilson, as seen through the eyes of their son Jack as he grows up. Written in the summer after S2, this was both my first angst fic and by far my best received fic on LiveJournal in both count and depth of comments (probably the most recced too).

Most Words - My Fathers' Son has the second most words at 25,850; the fic with the most is its sequel Keeper (Agnates in Elysium) at 29,621 words (House MD, Teen, multiple relationships, Major Character Death but not as angsty as My Fathers' Son). House and Wilson’s son Jack passes one of life’s crossroads and makes an unexpected connection. In Keeper, my "MFS" fanfic universe crosses over with another writer's House MD fanfic universe (the "Churchverse" in which House and Wilson's kid, Christian House, goes by Church).

This fic is for the play Prodigal Son by John Patrick Shanley. In the world premiere of the play Robert Sean Leonard played the teacher (Alan) and Timothée Chalamet played the student (James). (The priest is in an OC.) The Awful Daring is the only fanwork on AO3 for the play. Let me know if you know of any others elsewhere!

Joshua Edward Blackwall Senior - Anita's father. 57 years old. 6 foot 5 inches. Salt and Pepper pompadour. Pinkerton Detective. Gentleman through and through. Likes to dress nice no matter how hot it is, and is the influence for Anita's sense of fashion. Smokes out of an elephant ivory pipe.

Gertrude Leita-Ann Blackwall. - Anita's mother. 54 years old. 4 foot 11 inches tall. Short and chubby grandma of a woman. Interior Decorator as 24/7 occupation. Always seems to be ready to gossip about any of her own friends regardless if they are in earshot or not. Worried about Josh Jr and him struggling with his depression. Continously tries to get her husband and Anita to stop smoking, if not out right they should at least smoke outside.

Joshua Edward Blackwall Junior - Anita's twin brother. 28 years old. 5 feet 9 inches tall. Black hair with speckles of white. Assistant Manager at McDonalds. Former Highschool Boxing champion. Litterally peaked in Highschool. Lives in a Volkswagen Van which is on cinderblocks in their parent's drive way. Dealing with a heavy set depression from losing his fiance to a car accidnet. At odds with Anita due to her calling him his fiance's murderer by allowing her to drive drunk.

Veronica Marie Blackwall - The youngest of the three Blackwall children. 23 years old. 5 foot 2 inches tall. Hair the same as her older sister. Had botched jaw surgery at 13, has to wear braces permanently. Cheerful and bubbly, despite being pastel lolita goth. Lives with Anita and doing online college as starter for Forensic Science courses. Huge Otaku and loves shojo. Can play the piano with her toes. Live streams video games as a mini-career to pay for her online courses and pay her rent. Terrible at fighting games.

Natalie Sarah Blackwall - Anita's adoptive daughter. 9 years old. 4 foot 6 inches tall. Brilliant ginger hair that fades to blonde at the tips. Scars from being in a perviously abusive household which Anita removed her from while on a case. Heterochimeric eyes; one blue, the other hazel. Mimics Veronica a lot, mostky her fashion sense and love of video games. Guest stars on streams for co-op games. Loves DOOM and Wolfenstine because of this, and is far better than Veronica at both. Tends to end up sleeping with Anita and Penelope due to bad nightmares of her past. She's mute so has trouble making friends at school.

Penelope Adams - Anita's high school sweetheart and best friend. 27 years old. Long swirly strawberry blonde hair, normally kept in a braided bun. Know-it-all Mom friend. Works as a resource teacher to help children with special needs. Tutors students on all subjects every other Saturday at the library during the school year. Can perfectly vocally mimic any animal she has heard, even if she heard it only once. Is always concerned what type of games Veronica exposes Natalie to as she doesn't want her to be scarred further. Refuses to play middleman between Anita and Jr, despite thinking her girlfriend is out of line with calling her brother a murderer.

Does church have any hobbies? Does he pick any new hobbies or skills up from the rest of the tadpole party?

His main hobby is drawing throughout the series! That and dancing, although his style of dancing is a more spirited style from his village. Wyll teaches him a bit of the courtly stuff, which he enjoys learning as well (even though he’s relatively clumsy at it. :’) )

One hobby that Church hones after the events of the game is experimenting with fragrance. This skill comes from him originally having to make his own incense to commune with The Mother, so at first it's not something with which he has a positive association.

However, after spending time with Astarion and seeing how he blends his own perfume oil, Church begins to have a bit more appreciation for the craft and eventually goes from making incense to trying his hand at perfume.

In the same vein, while not a hobby, Church grew up often having to make and repair his own clothes as both a child living alone and an adult on the road. This was out of necessity, but gradually both he and Astarion find a small sort of joy out of it as they sort of help each other with repairing and embellishing things throughout their journey. (Spoilers for HHH I guess???)

Other hobbies and skills he learns from the rest of the party include:

Swordfighting from Lae'zel

Fighting with daggers from Astarion

17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you've just posted and wait for feedback?

Oof so this is where I make my confession — the answer is VERY obsessively.

I swipe to refresh for hours — between meetings, between gym reps, half-asleep in the middle of the night — checking to see if the kudos and views go up, and I get such a serotonin boost when I get comment notifications in my inbox. ^_^;

So yeah, I definitely experience also the opposite — getting bummed/down when there’s little engagement. I don’t want to say that to guilt anyone into validating me haha but I know it’s a fairly universal fic writer experience too! The AO3 subreddit has been a nice place to know I’m not alone in that. And it’s also something I’m working on for myself!

Honestly, as a newer author I feel so lucky to get any engagement at all! Especially after my very first fic was a long fic in a small fandom. Writing for BG3 been a very different experience for sure!

43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.

I have felt really blessed to have had so many things to smile about — especially ever since rejoining tumblr. I wish I had done it sooner! I’ve found a little community here with readers, shout out especially to those I’ve gotten to chat and ramble with: @avashnea, @lumienyx, @the-cutest-deviant, @thetoastyurge, @agent-jaselin , and @kasumitanart.

I’m going to feel bad for missing anyone because I’m not confident about matching readers’ AO3 names to their tumblr names, but I’ve also been so grateful for @autumnlassitude, @grovyrosegirl, @chamtong, as well as a couple of the others listed earlier for so often leaving enthusiastic comments with every update.

If I didn’t mention you but you know you’re a recurring reader, it wasn’t intentional! Please introduce yourself in the comments so I know who you are! :D I wish I could thank you all individually. ❤️

One positive experience in particular was towards the beginning of my tumblr return when I decided to read a fic of a mutual, touch too much by @lumienyx.

I really loved it and it was the perfect comfort fic that I needed after some post-Mirror, mirror burnout (and generally a stressful week.) After I commented, they quickly replied so sweetly and enthusiastically, mentioning that Tipping the Scales was part of what inspired them to write the fic in the first place! I think I actually got teary-eyed to learn that someone not only loved what I wrote, but was inspired by it!

We then ended up chatting for hours (until like 3 or 4 AM my time haha) and I was just so excited to realize I had truly found my people on here.

So thank you, @lumienyx. :’) 💙 You were exactly who I needed to meet and chat with during the height of writing burnout!
