平河天満宮

ランチのお店を探しつつ、お天気がよかったので少し足を伸ばして麹町、半蔵門をぶらぶら。

ひっそりとした日曜のオフィス街の中に突然現れた「平河天満宮」が気になり、ランチ後、行ってみました。

江戸平川城城主が、菅原道真公の夢を見、1478年に創建したのが始まりという歴史ある神社で、この辺りの地名・千代田区平河町は、この神社が町名の起源と言われているようです。

銅鳥居は区指定の有形文化財で立派でした。中は石製で銅板を巻き付けているとのこと。手間がかかっていますね！

鳥居の両方の柱にはいくつかの丸い傷が。空襲の際の機銃掃射によってできたものとの説明看板がありました。

戦争の恐ろしさがこんな身近に残って存在していたとは…。本当に平和って当たり前じゃないんですよね。

super absurd fic idea

Post-MVA, but pre-Jaku war.

A giant planet-destroying asteroid is headed towards Earth, and despite scientists-from-all-around-the-world's best efforts, there is no technology that can stop it. Heroes - and complex combinations of Heroes - can't stop it either. Whatever solution whoever has come up with just won't work. Earth is doomed...

Except when someone in Japan realizes maybe Shigaraki Tomura might be able to do something about the asteroid with Decay, especially since it can get totally disintegrated without the danger of big fragments flying to Earth.

Basically, for whatever reason, the world has absolutely no choice of avoiding this asteroid collusion except for Shigaraki decaying the whole thing.

fic is not about that tho. It's about the HPSC sitting down with Shigaraki and the League and the PLF executives trying to negotiate a deal.

“So,” Shigaraki said, single red eye from behind that awful hand staring down Hawks and the HPSC president. “You want me to go out to space, and destroy the asteroid.”

Shigaraki asks for total and eternal immunity for him and his army, and total control over Akihabara in exchange for this job. Then he changes his mind to get the whole Chiyoda Ward instead, might as well.

Toga pipes in that she wants Shinjuku, so Shigaraki adds that into the deal. Then she remembers Shibuya, so that gets added too. Seeing how they're just asking for anything, Mr. Compress wants Minato - but Shigaraki doesn't want it, too many Heroes stationed there. Compress says there's really good restaurants in Minato and besides, they can just kick all the Heroes out. Before long, they're asking for all of Tokyo as like. idk. independent city-state where the PLF rules.

ReDestro pipes up that they wanted the whole country, didn't they? Shigaraki says there's no way the government would hand that over, they rather become extinct by asteroid than lose that much dignity, so he's currently just asking for Tokyo. besides, when he comes back, they could always just try taking over the country with Tokyo serving as a base.

This is all discussed openly in front of the HPSC who tries to enter the conversation but always get shut out.

Someone eventually gets fed up and asks, Doesn't Shigaraki want to save the planet he's fucking living on?

Shigaraki shrugs, says he was planning on destroying it anyways, so not much difference. He doesn't care. (The League goes along, because they know Shigaraki knows they don't want to die either, but he needs to put up this act - and he does it so convincingly.) On the opposite end of things, tho, it's clear that HPSC/the world cares a lot but doesn't have any choice, cuz otherwise they wouldn’t have come groveling to him.

Fic ends with Shigaraki and the PLF giving a whole list of absolutely absurd demands, as well as Shigaraki requesting the whole League goes with him to space, because he knows

Heroes will definitely try to do something while he's gone

They're get to ride a freakin' spaceship.

Oh, and he's taking a a few very important hostages like world leaders and celebrities as well so Earth doesn't try to blow up the spaceship after the mission is completed.

anyways, the League goes on what's essentially an all-expenses-paid vacation to outer space. And all Shigaraki has to do is spacewalk out and touch the asteroid.

[Babalon] "And yet in spite of this, I've done nothing but snatch these children and toy with them, leaving emotional scars on them, ending with just fear towards me."

[Babalon] "-- I'll give anything. Even if it rains, I'll give them a lashing." "I've always wanted men to look at me with the same passion as I did-- so I gave myself away." "It's always been like that-- Even up to this point, it was like going through a bunch of cattle in a pen just to pass time, that was just how I lived." "It was like handing out fodder to a wild animal that you plan to hunt down-- it was no different from hunting." Nevertheless, I didn't want anyone else telling me how to live my life. But--

From Chiyoda ward and Mina ward, it was tied together through a tunnel and inside of it was a woman looking for a ride from the side while cars moved fast in quick flashes.

It was rather impressive of her to do so, bold and charming too. Her smile was ever present and her long, black hair was being blown by the wind.

-- During those times, she has acquired an abundance of acquaintances in Tokyo.

However, no matter how many there'd be, there would only be one person for her. For Babalon, there will only be one special person for her--

Those countless battles that were overcome, laughing together, crying together-- Slowly, that distance between them would fade, inching them even closer together.

Before they could notice the change, the two had shared a mutual affection for one another through the uttering of each other's name till this very day, where they then have decided to meet up.

Ito just arrived, carrying tickets, while Babalon black hair sways around upon approaching.

Everyone from the neighborhood turned their heads to look as their eyes notice the two people standing out, the atmosphere completely changing.

[Babalon] "My, you seem to have arrived so fast. We still have time before the actual meet up, you know--" "I've had other things to do, you see. I had to do errands by myself but you knew about that already."

[(Call her mother.)] [(Call her lady.)] [(Call her by name.)]

[Babalon] "Hmm, you're being so cute today, Ito. I wonder if I should let that slide."

Babalon smiled warmly at her, and Ito felt a blush run through her face.

[Babalon] "It's just as I expected, there's a huge crowd of people today, I wonder if I should be worried for you. I may be your mother but what if you suddenly called out to me and said it out loud then? I would've gotten extremely embarrassed and wish that you'd drop dead right then and there." "So, what're your plans? Do you plan for us to go somewhere today?" "Usually, we don't have much time to get to know one another and merely not enough to meet, so let's go."

Just as Babalon said that, something occurred to her and grabbed Ito by the hand.

[Babalon] "Well, it's a bit too soon, but let's depart already. You did after all when through the trouble to ask me out on a date." "Oh dear, why're you making that face for. I was only stating the fact what you wanted to do, but was I wrong?" "I've strung up these clothes and accessories so that you can comment on it during our tea time, but I don't mind it at all since we'll also be walking around while at it." "Yes, I am fine with it. We came out together, after all. It's just you and me for now so you're free to stare into my eyes however much that you want…"

Continuing to accompany Babalon, she casts a bewitching smile whilst she gazes into your eyes.

The two arrived at the roppongi area, one of the most gigantic commercial complex .

From the clothing store, general store, and even the restaurant were affordable and was furnished by such high class furniture.

[Babalon] "Oh my, I did expect that it'd be high class but this is beyond my expectation, everything is operating in such a affordable price, too. Did you plan for us to go here?" "There's so many things I wanna see and there's so many things that're happening that I fear that I might lose my way… Let's tread carefully first, how about we head to the clothing section?" "It's not just the clothes that I only want so I'm not letting you go till then. Today, you'll be accompanying me and afford it for me. I'll be thankful for you then, so could you?" "It's fine if it's a mess. Even accessories to toys, there's also dinner that you need to take into account-- Hey, please spoil me rotten, okay?"

["Leave it to me."] [(Be prepared to spend coin till the very depths of your soul.)] [(Hand her every clothing that she wants.)]

[Babalon] "Ooh, fufuh… You don't have to be that worried. I have just enough cash to spend from those miserable casino pigs." "You're asking… How much? Oh dear, that's such an ill manner way to ask about it." "I can tell the greed building from a person who's addicted., just the despair they're making through those faces. But you on the other hand, you're just simply asking for how to increase coin from that bag of yours." "In regards to it, there are meaningful ways to get some. For example, how about you look at me with such a delighted expression on your face.. Something like that?"

As Babalon speaks, Clothing were being picked for Ito.

[Babalon] "… Look, see how lovely you are. The sharpness of this black, makes the redness of your face shine like a star." "My, isn't this one of those character inspired items? I wouldn't agree that this be the way to gain one's attention, but I suppose children would be delighted to see it, I suppose?" "Oh well, I guess this would be one of those things to gain something from. Would you think it'd be safe to walk around like this at night?" "Look.. This here… Oh my, what's wrong? Is there something you wanted to talk about? I was only looking."

[(Say you're not satisfied with the choices.)] [(Say that you'll choose on your own.)] [(Suggest clothes similar to your taste.)]

[Babalon] "… Are you really choosing one for me? Aah, I'm so happy. Thank you, Ito." "You seem to be pretty confident with your sense of style but as always, I fear that it might leave a bad rep with the neighbors if they see me wearing it. Besides, there are too many emotional conflictions coming in, so it's best we end it at that." "Still, I still think the best part of this was being together with you. Look.. I think it's wonderful." "… Your taste and mine and colliding with one another. I've realized it only now, but today, this one is particularly special to me."

The two of you finish off your plans in the clothing section and started to walk again to the next department store.

[Babalon] "Look here, Ito. That store there, I wonder if it's a florist shop. I do wanna have a look if they sell any miscellaneous goods there." "I plan to decorate my house with some small ornaments here and there and wanted to see if they had some. Hey, don't you want the two of us to have a matching one?"

The tension within you eased the moment you see Babalon's soft smile. At this point, there are no classmates that you know that are looking.

[Babalon] "Well, I wanted a glass angel to have the same pattern as my chalice to put on my guild, you see. Fufuh, if someone religious were to see it, they might faint." "-- I am aware of this world's custom and that there are many to be frightened about, so I am trying to be respectful here. Still, there miscellaneous stuff in tokyo that is too good to pass up… It is a rather refreshing feeling." "Still, Yes-- The origin of this world's aura is yet to be overthrown, and there is a limit to how much I can do in this tokyo." "To be blessed or to be cursed, they will still utter out the same deity's name in this town… It is wonderful for someone like me that is revered a indecent and blasphemous to be able to exist in tokyo."

Babalon stirs her emotions to a neutral line and clears her throat, with Ito turning to look at her.

[Babalon] "-- I'm fine with anything, but at the very least I want the two of us to have matching items so that we can be of equal footing." "Tokyo's affection is proof enough that there are items that can have us match up and balance with one another, that is to say the custom here is." "I did consider that you've already had a relationship with another one. And so, I did think that you would never pick me."

Babalon urges you to another store and Ito takes in the view of the store's interior--

[(Choose a pair of mugs.)] [(Choose a pair of pendants.)] [(Choose a pair of rings.)]

[Babalon] "… To pick matching rings of all things, that is… Fufuh, I feel like I am exaggerating something so miniscule of an action." "[A ring of pledge] is one of those that you shackle someone with but if that's what you desire.. Then I'm also fine with it." "Instead of that… How about I pledge myself to you for choosing me?" "Me and my children will tyrannize you and all the hate in this world that I harbor will be your punishment.. Just kidding, I'm just joking, alright?"

Ito gracefully accepts it with emotional eyes poking through, leaving Babalon with a satisfied smile.

[Babalon] "Fufuh… It seems we still ended up choosing the same thing, I did wanted to surprise you by getting something completely different. Somehow, I'm feeling a bit giddy." "I wanted to jump in front of you. Come on, let's go settle it with a check."

The two of you decided to go into some bit of mischief, with Babalon calling out to an employee just nearby.

[Babalon] "-- There's a crowd forming there. I'll go from behind that person and kick them." [Employee] "Oh yes, I've heard. I'll go send it right away, thank you very much."

An accountant employee seems to have finished selling their merchandise and has concealed it, each with it's respective luggage, all in a circular manner.

[Employee] "Welcome back, pair items can be bought in this way, if there's anything that catches your way do tell, I will offer you something of decent price." "Of course, there is a much larger one of stock… I am sure you would look great in it, miss." [Babalon] "Oh my.. You and I are matching, the fabric on those arms are like flowers. I'll be happy to get it… Sweetheart."

As soon as she said that, a sinister smile hovers near her face, placing her hand to gently comb the employee's hair, landing a kiss on it.

[Employee] "Huh… Hm? .. I-it's embarrassing, miss." [Babalon] "Fufuh, that dark look of yours is rather cute, perhaps in response I'll ramp up it."

As Babalon gazes back, you start to remember something and close your eyes.

The moment it springs into your head, Ito raises her head back to look.

[Babalon] "… You seem to be lacking in spirit, Ito. I was just causing some bit of mischief, don't let your mind run of to things that aren't there, alright?"

That was all Babalon said as she continues to walk ahead to wherever destination she wanted to go.

She walked together with Ito, with Babalon gazing into her eyes and putting a hand over.

As you watch, you start to recall things, memories that you were in rome, winning for the seventh time in a row.

A long time ago… Where your past self was still living, you were due for some royal fern that you were farming during the reign of a certain emperor.

Large quantities of blood spurting out from above-- And your prize was to have a beautiful woman.

A pack of angels watch as the prize descends down out of duty as those below point and shout.

The most detestable woman on earth was to become a mother to those participating in this degenerate game of spilling blood all for Babalon.

With those words, I sneered at them, honestly-- I was just a mere working girl, doing various sexual favours that have given me this name that they now call me by.

And so I retorted back at them. Both men and women looked at me through their all high and mighty positions, and in response, I returned the gesture back just to survive out here.

To them, being a women means to be violated. All of them, with their own hands, violated me in return.

To be a woman out here means they are free to gladly trample all over you. Was anyone even happy to be treated like prey out here?

You'll only be worth anything if you were the head of the household, if I had any children that were women, I would still love them-- The angels then pointed the goblet.

The women came over to tilt the goblet and satisfy the thirst of the one watching. To be violated, gawked at, trampled at by others has drained any tears and instead blood took it's place.

Only but the blowing of wind had the strength enough to take the pain from my face away, the anguish I am harboring-- Became a curse.

I damned them all into oblivion that day, and with each drop, the goblet continues to pour it out continuously as the men look towards it.

A committee member that was accompanying the group of angels expelled a flash of red, his face ridden in red out of intoxication, raises his voice at the women.* *(It's Bael.)

That's right, the women were mostly loved by the men there, but most of them were too arrogant to admit it, so in return we were punished.

And so I went against their wishes for me to hand out love to them, I didn't want them saying it was a mistake, when they cried over me as they yearn for the love that only I can provide them.

So I handed out punishments and my love along with it, wondering when will my next life come up and take me somewhere new but it didn't happen.

Why did I even think that someone like me would be able to participate privately as one those with a role. Why did I assume that someone like me, would ever be brave enough to become a wife to begin with.

Yes, even this woman who was despised by all desired a man to sweep her off her feet and chased after by one till the end of time in this joke of a paradise.

In the end, she went to search for the draconic serpent that was the very base of their origins, the main reason for why they were chased out of paradise to begin with. The parent of all draconic serpents out there--

There were three angels assigned in Eden, and they told her: [We are the ones who killed the draconic serpent that day.]

The main reason for why she came her to look for that individual was to have a child that she can love in the times they live in, and ask whether she was still able to produce one-- But it was a rule out here that once a life was lost, you are to remain empty.* *(She became infertile after her child died.)

There was no way for someone like me-- Encaged by the Babylon tower, similar to when I was put in tokyo's city… That you would ever come and see me.

And so I left it all to you-- On the next actions you'll take.

I wanted a child from you that I can love and see-- And I left it all up to you if you were willing to have me as your wife.

However, you were alreadly in love with another, and there wasn't any space in your heart for me to be in it.

I have come to an eventual agreement that the love I harbor for you will be severed from this world. Even as the annoying angels, continues to provoke me by calling me mother--

I'll still love you even if you love someone else, in this world, and the next following future that will be left behind.

You will be the living proof for the next future of the hill you climbed on, caught on, and grieved on.

Me never becoming a mother will be the curse that'll forever haunt me. For that reason alone, is why I will stubbornly be the mother to those that'll want me--

[Babalon] "-- Aah, sorry about that, Ito… I was remembering some past memories for a bit." "Before you know it, we've arrived at destination, haven't we?"

This was Chiyoda ward, Ootemachi. Currently at the garden terrace of one of the commercial businesses' rooftop.

[Babalon] "This is one of the best places to go on a date, you can see everything that this city has to offer from below, don't you think so?" "I am also the type of woman to enjoy luxurious things. Anywhere that has the sight where you can look down from the very top, I really love it… Fufuh."

Babalon lets out a laugh, and slowly, your eyes adjust to see the entire picture of the city.

[Babalon] "The neon lights of the city reminds me of that fabric we saw. But there are over 20 pillar lights in the way though.."

[(Stand next to Babalon.)] [(Place an arm on her shoulder.)] [(Embrace Babalon by the shoulder.)]

[Babalon] "Fufufuh… You're so cute. Alright, you can come closer--" "Ah.. Don't underestimate this Babylon tower now. Did you know in tokyo, they also call it the Babel tower?"

As Babalon speaks of it, she flexes what the tower stands tall over, shimmering like an iridescent pillar, and most of all, is bigger in comparison.

[Babalon] "I also have seen this same tower from my world. As for my thoughts on it-- It is but a gravestone for me." "For example, in a world where we are to be washed away by a great flood, this will never topple over no matter what. That's just how it is." "During those times, once a certain amount of years had gone by, I would eventually tell my child about it." "What it means to me is nothing but an annoyance now… What difference does it make whether I deemed it important." "And so, below this tower here, is a storehouse where they go to die. Back then, we would put children in here, those poor darlings.."

As the night approaches, the mountains starts to engulf the surroundings and Babalon stares at you.

[Babalon] "I wonder if you also wanted to talk with me… In regards as to why I can't become a mother." "I've always wanted to be called a mother-- I've always dreamed of becoming one. Do you understand where I'm getting at?" "A child of my own, watching them grow up to the very end with my own eyes, something that I will never have…" "Do you know what present I want for today? Something that will substitute the act on it's own.." "I want children of my own, I wanna raise them on my own and feel what I wasn't able to experience. That's why, I want something to fill that gap for me." "I'm just a girl playing house by myself. Fufuh, you don't mind if you give me something of yours?"

[(Laugh.)] ([Don't laugh.)]

[Babalon] "Honestly, I'll still love whoever who you choose to love in this world.. I will leave the next discernible future up to you." "All that's left is a yes from you. I just want some bit of sympathy and nothing disagreeable out of you." "That's why-- From this day onwards, I want you to see me as a mother from now on."

The me that was detested by those angels in Eden. I want to be the one this time to shout it out loud, I will become that obscene woman known to the others and become a mother.

In spite of it all, I still disobeyed from Eden's belief, and only I was the only one who fell down from it.

[Babalon] "It's such a horrible thing to talk about and fit all together in one frame. That's why I will only think of it as this one small frame."

Perhaps someday, you and I-- Might find something to fill it with.

[(Approach Babalon and stand alongside her.)] [(Take Babalon's hand.)] [(Take a step forward to Babalon and kneel on one knee.)]

[Babalon] ".. Ito."

[(Tell Babalon that you'll create a new family for her.)] [(Tell Babalon that she is a strong individual.)]

[Babalon] "… [Create a new family.].. Not like parent and child, and not father and mother either." "Right, if that's what you see for us out there then it shall be. At that moment-- It felt like you were my spouse saying that." "I really have such an interesting bunch with me, and I'm not even a mother-- But at this point I'll take what I can get." "Honestly, what's with you, that arrogance of yours could rival the enemy I have upstairs… And I don't want you to lose, alright?"

-- Babalon's charming smile flashes. It will be unknown when will these limits of this world ever crumble down, but little by little there will be change.

[Babalon] "For a very long time, I've seen the world for what it has to offer and gone across it. From this point onwards, I will make sure that you will always answer me by then." "From the very depths of this earth's soil, I would hope there would be a time that I will have a child to love of my own, and someday I will meet one, along with those who also wish for a child in the future. 狂音INC. (read as KURUNE INCORPORATED) Is a rap group representing the Chiyoda division consisting of the CEO and division leader Fusao Ise, electronics design engineer Raiden Otoha, and graphic designer Chiyuri Seiguni.

The group’s colour is corporate blue(#3669ad), blue is a colour often used for corporations as it symbolises trust and reliability, the members also generally think it’s a nice colour.

The group’s logo is a speaker, their company’s best selling product.

The group’s symbol is a line graph which to them, symbolises uncertainty, may that uncertainty be of their company or of their daily lives. Every member has some kind of line graph on them and they all show different data, Fusao has it as a pin on his scarf (in an unstable state), Raiden has it as a tattoo on his neck (resembling heartbeat) and Chiyuri has one printed on his vest (constantly rising).

The group’s hand sign on the Rhyme Anima would be them making something similar to the finger heart on their dominant hand, except the middle finger is also in a similar position as the index, this gesture is often associated with money.

The group’s name, 狂音INC. translates to “crazy sound inc.”, this name was picked out by Raiden, it doesn’t really mean much… I think.

They appear to be just a group of typical businessmen at first however they are… ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇

They have established mutual trust and respect for each other that goes beyond their office work life

Chiyoda is a special ward in Tokyo Prefecture, it’s Japan’s political centre where the Imperial Palace is; it also houses the business district Marunouchi, where major companies like Mitsubishi and Hitachi lay their headquarters on.

after dying in the engine room, goro played the reaper's game. by the time he won, though, the phantom thieves had already taken care of shido, so he saw no point in returning to life and elected to become a reaper. since he died in a palace located at the diet building, he is stationed as a reaper in the chiyoda ward.

the chiyoda reapers game: chiyoda is the least populated ward in tokyo. its ug sees little traffic, and therefore games are infrequent. when they do run, they are customized for the current player(s), leading to low erasure rates and most game victors either reincarnating or becoming reapers. imagination in chiyoda tends to lean towards business and economics, rather than art like most other districts, and this is reflected in the ug and how it's run. unlike in shibuya, reapers do not need to earn points to keep from being erased and are unionized, regularly communicating with the conductor as a proxy for the composer to negotiate rules for the game and compensation for their labor.

moreover, because chiyoda is so important to both tokyo and all of japan, reapers spend much of their time on the clock maintaining the ug, managing noise levels and other tasks that keep both the ug and rg running smoothly and without interference. the use of imprints is strictly forbidden without extensive prior discussion so as not to accidentally interfere with political and economic affairs.
