Vincent/Chidi headcanons<3

Warnings: none<3

enjoy! <3

They started off as a bodyguard and boss

Vincent is a perfectionist at heart, he hates screw-ups because that would mean also screwing up because whatever his guys do, he does it too in the eyes of the Table

Usually, younger representatives get the harder assignments from the High Table

Obviously, Vincent needed someone who was competent enough to help him with the shit the High Table throws at him

And then Chidi came along

There was finally something refreshing

Chidi is brutal when it comes to doing stuff wether that be hunting someone down who even tried fucking with the Marquis

« How you do anything is how you do everything » after all

Chidi was aggressive and violent when it came to work which is normal under the criminal underworld(one can’t survive with morals in such a place)

Yet, Chidi was also professional and refined when he wasn’t shooting people in the head

Second-In-Command

Chidi managed to reach that role within just weeks which was such a surprise for working for someone like the Marquis

The two were…. close than just a bodyguard and his boss, always walking with eachother— and it might just be because of assassination threats or something but even in Vincent’s home sometimes Chidi was there

Vincent liked hearing his own voice it was really just obvious

He liked talking, a lot

Chidi just listened because most days were just standing by the Marquis

“Death is rare to be depicted in white.” Vincent said as he pointed to Döden

Vincent loved art, he couldn’t make it but he did talk about it

Or Vincent could be flicking through a Vogue magazine or something, eating a parfait or a small glass of icecream

And of course, Vincent would persist on making Chidi take a bite

Unfortunately for Chidi who doesn’t like sweets as much as his boss

Vincent is a skilled marksman, but that mean he’s gonna play his skills down when Chidi is there

Vincent is clingy as hell, he likes Chidi’s touch

Hugs that linger a second or two longer or being a little too close

Ayo do you have any headcanons about the marquis from jw4. PERSONALLY, I think he and chidi are a thing but I wanna hear your thoughts?

oh he definitely has a “right hand man for what? jerking you off?” dynamic w chidi lol but personally i imagine it’s not an exclusive relationship (for vincent anyways). the scenes w marquis and the tracker have a lot of sexual tension but i think the tracker fully despises him. he’s literally just a spoiled french boy twink and the tracker only has eyes for john (literally)

i haven’t really thought too much abt headcanons for him i’ll be honest but since i’m thinking about it now here’s a few:

• he’s definitely a coffee snob.

• he goes to/hosts parties just to find the sluttiest men to take to his bedroom. it’s fine if they don’t speak the same language (honestly better)

• he can be dominant, he likes having men on their knees for him but he also likes being up against the wall

• laughs at popular fashion trends & keeps a fairly consistent style but keeps up with some select designers and has a bit of a hyperfixation on them. he’s owned every collection piece he’s ever desired and goes through his wardrobe at the end of every year to get rid of anything that doesn’t spark joy anymore, but he keeps quite a lot of his clothes for years. he likes having the selection of old and new and bringing back attention to a popular piece from balmain 2016 fall collection when he decides to wear it for a dinner out. (i am laughing imagining him wearing that but it would also be kind of a serve)

Why I love Chidi’s existence (in honor of JW4 day)

CW: this may get personal, so fair warning?

Chidi is one of those characters who majority of the audience doesn’t like because he’s shined in a bad light (as antagonist; which honestly makes him cooler to me). Which most antagonists are, but I think people should appreciate his existence in the franchise.

What makes Chidi stand out

Yes, there’s all types of Antagonists in this franchise, but Chidi is the CLOSEST we’ve seen to being Wick’s disadvantage. I mention this anytime I’m defending the guy because it gives the movie more intriguing moments and concepts. Movies all have protagonist’s who win in the end, but they can never always win. There needs to be a point where there’s a weakness that’s hit majorly which causes a dip in the goal. Chidi was so close to tearing Wick down after months of the global chase after him. If it weren’t for the two supporting characters (Caine & Tracker), the antagonists would’ve gotten an unforgettable win. Chidi shows that John Wick of all people can’t keep getting up after every hit imaginable; there’s been cars, trucks, 15 foot buildings that he has just walked off and called it nothing; but nothing is more detrimental than keeping up with pace.

What he means to me

In the movie (canon) he’s portrayed as this loyal guard, one who will do anything for his boss and for his own satisfaction. He’s a rule-follower, as alike to most of the Table, but for me he reminds me of myself; a person who willingly follows rules and fights tooth and nail to keep everyone in check. Chidi’s very opinionated, loyal, and obedient (for lack of better words); just how I see in myself. Majority of his screen time is him following orders of the Marquis, yet he still catches all the blame for executing the plan. He’s just there to do what he is told and move on, even in uncooperative situations. I myself have experienced this too, being that I follow rules and procedures, and people get upset with me. It’s rare I relate to characters so much, but with him, I hated him at first; not realizing I hated him in the sense that he reminded me of my own struggles and resentment of those you can succeed so easily.

Actor: Marko Zaror

Chad Stahelski’s casting always seems to make unpopular actors shine in ways that give them all the credit that they deserve. Marko Zaror is a Chilean martial arts actor who grew up in Santiago and is quite successful now amongst the Latin side of action films. After watching JW4 (specifically the 2nd time), I continued to do so much research on him and watch a couple of his movies and I can’t help but just adore his style and work and frankly everything he does. In one interview, Marko answered the interviewers question (I don’t remember what exactly it was) in a way that literally left me in tears. He explained to the guy that he was so grateful to even be casted and to work with such amazing people who were there for him the whole way; even mentioning that Chidi wasn’t a Latin character in the beginning. Going on to explain how much the representation meant to him and his whole line of work, he left me in a state of pure empathy and admiration. Marko is a great actor and martial artist and I couldn’t thank him and all actors for inspiring me to follow my dreams in becoming one myself.
