okay now that i have the information, this is a CarLando recap of Singapore gp 2023:

1. lando slapping carlos's ass and carlos's response was “ that was hard” , followed by a blush and momentarily losing track of whatever he was saying.

2. p1 and p3 in quali and cue to lando pinching carlos's boobie to lando brushing his hips against carlos's and cue to carlos following him like he's mezmerized.

3. lando replying “ vamos" under carlos's twitter post and “ CARLOOOOOOOS” under his instagram post. (we all think he's whining for carlos but alright-)

4. the carlando hug. it's beautiful. it's mezmerizing. I've seen it too many times. it's poetic.

5. the podium interviews before the celebrations with carlos and lando mentioning each other more often than they're breathing, the cooldown room where they're just “ ai , ai , ai " and “ oh- oh- oh" (sounded like their foreplay without context). lewis just walks in at the last moment without any background context and the sky commentators went like “ alright, if this is how the reporting for the race happens, we'd want this informative reporting every race weekend ;)) ” [ also cue to them recreating the “ ai ” and “ oh ” ]

6. the carlando podium. that spraying technique from lando onto carlos's mouth and carlos sticking his tongue out like that. and the way carlos's practically chugs champagne onto lando's mouth (for second one reference: check the video where fred is drowning carlos in champagne, it's for a very split moment , but you can see it )

7. the post race press conference with carlando in their married domestic bubble + third wheel lewis. also cue to CarLando sitting together far away from lewis and carlos showing lando something which causes them to smile and get giddy over idk, and carlos following lando quickly in the most babygirl way ever. 🏃🏾‍♀️

8. carlos's instagram selfie post dedicated to CarLando solely + an insta story of the same post, an insta story solely dedicated to an hd aesthetic picture of their hug, cue to lando resharing the selfie post on his own story with “ #CALANDO” as well as resharing the hug™ on his story, and posting the CarLando selfie on his p2 celebration post. a joint instagram post. 😏

9. to mclaren and ferrari admin celebrating carlos and lando. [ mclaren commenting “ vamos” and scuderia ferrari commenting “ good job lando :) ” ]

11. the post race interview again where carlos suggested lando and him should go out for drinks tonight and smiles whenever he mentions CarLando and tone implications of suggesting he knows CarLando works exist.

12. carlos's radio message of “ gap to lando every lap" and carlos intentionally slowing down just enough to keep lando within drs range , lando understanding the signal. when told by his race engineer about the gap (0.8) carlos goes like “ it's on purpose ”. the amount of precision, trust, teamwork and respect. freaking insane.

just read the new chapter and loved it!!! but now i have to ask for the landoscar and carlando lore you mentioned in the notes i'? so curioussss

ahh thank you so much, glad you liked the new chapter!!

there is truly SO MUCH LORE surrounding the background characters and couples in this fic and also we are big fans of both landoscar and carlando so it was initially hard to choose which driver we wanted lando to be with hahaha

ANYWAYS a (not-so) brief summary:

- carlando were together when they were teammates but broke up when carlos went to ferrari (the breakup was very emotional and devastating but now they’re friends)

- landoscar were nursing crushes on each other during 2023 (as evidenced by every video they filmed together last season)

- in ch 4 at jimmyz there’s a throwaway line about lando and oscar being flushed from the heat of the club, but they are actually flushed from making out in the bathroom (they don’t talk about it afterwards — idiots to lovers is our number one trope if you couldn’t tell)

- in ch 5 in santorini landoscar finally get together (charles and max of course don't notice or comment on this in their POVs bc they are soooooooo busy just STARING at each other the entire time)

- as mentioned in this chapter, alex, george, lando, and oscar obviously get lunch many times during winter break 2024-25 and just spill the tea on how max and charles are both so emotional and depressed about each other and why won't they just admit they're in love. oscar is so happy to be included

- no spoilers for the rest of the fic but…...it all comes back to carlando

I've been a f1 fan for a little over two weeks now (which is not a lot, ik) and I thought it would be fun to keep track of my favorite drivers over time.

The first drivers I got to know were obviously my first favorites:

1. Charles Leclerc

The clip of Charles signing his own gloves was basically what got me into f1 in the first place. It's a dumb reason but now I actually enjoy everything that comes with f1 and not only the pretty drivers.

2. Daniel Ricciardo

Danny Ric, my love, I still consider him one of the best people that have ever happened to f1. He is just such a sweetheart and I'm a sucker for simley boys.

3. Max Verstappen

I honestly have mixed feelings about Maxy. I love him for who he is but there are several things that he does or says that I personally consider not okay. I respect him a lot and I think he has a good heart but there are situations that make me think about that twice. But honestly his proud grin when someone laughs about one of his jokes is the best thing on this planet <3

My favorite drivers one week into liking f1:

1. Daniel Ricciardo

I really believe he makes the world a better place by simply existing. I don't think I have to elaborate.

2. Charles Leclerc

My crush slowly fading into the background while I'm starting to get to know the other drivers. Charles will always have a special place in my heart as the reason I got into f1. He is also probably the driver that I'm rooting for the most even though there are so many drivers that I want to see winning.

3. Pierre Gasly

Pierre being Charles best racing friend made me want to learn more about him and suddenly I fell in love. He probably has the most infectious laugh ever and the way he interacts with Yuki makes me melt.

My favorite drivers two weeks into liking f1:

1. Pierre Gasly

Pierre has officially taken my heart. I love him. Portect him at all cost.

2. Alex Albon

This one took me by surprise actually. I was watching stream highlight (because of Charles) a lot lately so I naturally got confronted with the sweetheart that is Alex Albon. I honestly can see him taking P1 from Pierre soon. But it somehow makes so much sense. Alex is definetly the kind of person I would want in my life, while Pierre and Charles are more like a casual celebrety crush ig. Idk, I can't explain it, but Alex Albon yall.

3. Charles Leclerc

Charles is definetly being a constant here. And I really hope he stays in the top three. My love. Always being the one I'm rooting for.

I was playing f1 2020 today and felt like cheating when I even considered driving for anything else than Ferrari. Thanks for that Charles xD

Carlos × Lando, love, just love, there's nothing else I can say about that. Plus the have the best shipping name. Just Carlando, it's perfect.

Alex × George, this came with my new found love for Alex. I could totally see them as only platonic but I want them to be lovers, because cute.

Pierre × Yuki, I am not like totally shipping them (as in platonic is great too) but they are just the cutest. The way they interact with each other is everything. I want a friendship like this please.

The chatter of the crew was a distant murmur in the background as Lando navigated through the paddock. The events of the qualifying round earlier that day were replaying in his mind, a tangle of ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys’ that did nothing but fray his nerves even more. The anxiety wasn’t new; it was an old friend by now, but some days, like today, it was a shadow he couldn’t shake.

As he walked into the McLaren hospitality, all he could think about was his teammate, Carlos, and how he needed the Alpha’s soothing touch. He found Carlos in his driver’s room, scrolling through something on his phone. He looked up as Lando approached, his easy smile quickly morphing into a frown as he took in his teammate’s clenched fists and the tight set of his jaw.

“Hey, what’s up?” Carlos asked, slipping his phone into his pocket, his demeanour shifting to concern. The paddock was their world, but in this moment, it felt like they were the only two people in it. Lando shuffled from foot to foot, the words a heavy weight on his tongue. They had done this enough times, found comfort in each other in the midst of chaos often enough, that he shouldn’t have felt embarrassed. And yet—

“Can I sit on your lap? I’m anxious, and you’re more comfortable than a nest,” Lando mumbled, almost too quiet to hear over the sound of people talking outside the door. For a moment, Carlos just looked at him, and Lando felt a spike of worry that he’d asked for too much. But then Carlos rolled his eyes good-naturedly, patting his lap with a huffed laugh. “If you get any weirder, I swear I’m filing a formal complaint,” he joked, though the warmth in his eyes was genuine, inviting.

A laugh bubbled up in Lando’s chest, easing the tension in his shoulders as he practically collapsed onto Carlos. He wiggled around for a second before settling, his back against Carlos’ chest, Carlos’ arms coming to rest around his waist. It was a ridiculous position, but Lando found he couldn’t bring himself to mind, not when Carlos’ steady breathing at his neck did wonders to calm the storm inside him.

“You’re a mess,” Carlos murmured, but there was no heat to it—only affection laced with a hint of worry that Lando recognized all too well. It was the same emotion that reflected back at him in the mirror after a rough race. “Mm-hmm,” Lando agreed, too soothed to be offended, his eyes sliding shut. They stayed like that, Carlos’ grip a constant pressure that kept Lando anchored to the moment, to the knowledge that he wasn’t alone in all this.

The noises outside the door faded into insignificance, and Lando’s thoughts stilled, the quali and the upcoming race were momentarily forgotten. In Carlos’ comforting presence, an embrace that felt like it was crafted just for him, Lando could find the resilience he needed, readying himself to face whatever lay ahead. He would face whatever came next, but for now, this was exactly where he both needed to be.
