I finally completed my Jonerys Boatsex smut AO3 | FF.net

The dragons dance at sea from dusk to dawn: They share their first kiss when Jon backs Dany up against that door, undresses her & she eventually gets the lord’s kiss against that door as well with Jon finally bending the knee! Dany gets into bed to enjoy watching him undress. She touches his scars, even kisses them but tries not to talk about it when they talk about their lives before meeting each other right after the Boatsex scene. They go at it until the sun comes up. Jon wakes up first with a proud smile when he notices Dany sleeping next to him. His first reaction is spooning with her, which turns to more when he manages to wake her up, because…morning wood and he essentially moves into her cabin for the rest of the journey.

Hey Lights, you wrote masterpieces which became Jonerys canon. But, on the beginning, before Something stupid, and Remember the Time, there was Adrift, and one and only Oracular Spectacular, and OMG, and it is spectacular. I still remember the time when it was first published and how much spectaculared 😁 (I made up that word) I was, and I'm forever grateful ❤️

@starlitcuivienen PLEASE ACCEPT MY MOUNTAIN OF APOLOGIES for answering this so late, especially for an original ride-or-die, ESPECIALLY one who was around for the original posting of Oracular Spectacular. That's a deep track, deepest lore, my first foray into more graphic smut and my ode to Dany's immediate lady boner when Jon was just walking around petting dragons and what not in 7.04.

Ah, well. Here we are, four years later (at least from the start dates of those fics lol), still in this clown car. Will we ever escape? Who knows.

Let's see what inside scoop I can give you on those two fics:

Adrift - Originally I was going to write it in alternating Dany and Jon POVs, but I had promised @noordinarylines one chapter a day for 30 days of a boat sailing off into the North (though it took like a year for me to finish the last two chapters). But then I had the idea for Tyrion's chapter in that fic, of him just being tortured by all the fuck noise happening next door, and after that it was too hard not to write a Sandor POV, and everything just snowballed from there lmao. Hopefully to good results!

Oracular Spectacular - Okay, so way way way back then, I only had one fic going, Targaryen Loyalist. And I don't think I'd gotten to the smutty parts of THAT fic yet, so I was like hmmm maybe I should practice, it's been like a decade since I've written fanfic and hmmm, sex seems complicated to write, if I remember.

So this fic was kind of a playground for me to try a few things, and if you go back and read it now after the much smuttier things I've written it's pretty tame (and I don't even write the REAL smut spice). But I do love it, because it's also a very real case of 'write what you want to see' - back then there weren't a ton of fics concerning the immediate aftermath of Jon petting Drogon and Dany's reaction other than the look on her face that was like "I'm about to make this man a father". I was very, very nervous about posting it and worried that people would be angry that I was not working on my other fic.

I have clearly outgrown that fear in the years since because I do that all the fucking time now.

Thank you so much not just for the ask, but for gifting my silliness with a little of your time, and having a little fun with me. Life's always better with a little fun thrown in.

Hey my love! I’m happy to give you some recs and honored you trust my taste haha. I want to start this post off saying that I don’t read enough fanfic, and for that I am sorry. I am hoping that once I stop stressing about finishing writing my own fic, I will have some headspace to read more. Regardless, here are some fics I know and love, or know my friends know and love and am 100% sure are worth your time. I hope you like them!!

Literally anything by @muttpeeta. Everyone reading this is rolling their eyes because they saw it coming since I am a weird Amy fangirl and she is my favorite Jonerys fic writer :’) The first thing I ever read by her was The “Bittersweet Between My Teeth” so I’m biased toward and it’s one of my faves. It’s a boatsex and then partial s8 fic, but so perfectly done. Her currently ongoing multichapter “You Can Never Be Mine” is like a legend in the fandom and PRIME angst. Premise is Dany growing up as a ward at Winterfell, betrothed to Robb, but falling in love with Jon instead. READ THE THING! You can read the rest of her Jonerys fics here.

Another fave fic author is @iane-casey. She’s written a few really steamy one-shots that you can check out here. “Burning” is especially good.

Another I’ve been wanting to catch up on is “A Wolf in the Sand” by @notpmahlem. A really beautifully written canon-divergent AU that diverges in s6. I also like her one shot written for Secret Santa, “Unwrapped.” Her style is so pleasant to read and you can see the rest of her Jonerys fics here.

You should also check out work by her good friend and absolute sunshine @jalenmara. Their collab fic “Written in the Scars of this Heart” is a modern bodyguard AU where Dany is a supermodel. Read it! I also love her figure skating AU “Snowstorn - On Ice!” inspired by Tessa and Scott (you know I’m trash for them). Her other fics here.

I’m really excited about this new fic by the lovely @thescarletgarden1990, “Fated Allegiance.” It’s an arranged marriage AU! That’s my shit! Scarlet’s stuff is awesome and she is such a sweetheart in every way. Her other Jonerys fics are here.

Can I recommend human beings for being perfect? Because if so I would have to recommend @adecila. She is literally the nicest person I’ve met on tumblr, and a hugely supportive member of this fandom. She comments on almost every fic, long, detailed, ENCOURAGING comments. She betas for people. She reblogs people’s content. And she still writes her own stuff! And it’s good! Check out her modern AU, “Inevitable.” Her other fics here.

I honestly have abso-fucken-lutely no problem with shipping jonsa. Personally I wouldn't, but I that's just my opinion! If other people want to, go ahead. I remember back when I first started GoT I shipped Jon and Daenerys as a crackship, I never thought they'd meet ever! At the time I knew what it was: a crackship. I wasn't delusional and convinced it would ever happen. I hoped, I used the books and shows to make theories on how it might, how jon/Dany parallel each other and all that, but I also have no problem with Jonsas doing the same for their ship! It's fun, it's entertainment. It's not serious or will affect reality in any way.

What I find so interesting and disturbing though (jonsas look away now if for some reason you're reading this) is how far they are willing to twist Jon's character into a tool for their own enjoyment. Far before political!jon ever happened, back even when there were only about ten good jonerys fics on ao3, I would sometimes read jonsa fics. This is around when season 5 and 6 was airing. And the way those authors treated jon in their fics then was horrifying to me. I'm a Jon stan over any other character (Dany is a close second, but Jon is my #1 I will defend him to as many graves as he find himself in) and seeing the way the jonsas turned him into a sex craved, wimpy dumbass pissed me off. In almost every fic I read all he wanted was to have sex with Sansa. And he needed her to rule or do anything, without her he was as good as dirt. I've got no problems with smut for smut's sake, but they turn jon into something he isn't. Of course write him as a sexy guy who saves people but don't turn him into sansa's personal slave to do only as she pleases. What the fuck. So obviously I didn't spend long on that part of the internet, and thankfully I didn't have to because we soon got canon jonerys and boatsex.

But that was before jonerys, and they were willing to twist his character and utterly destroy his integrity. I hated that. And now once obviously threatened by the One True Ship they're willing to go to extremes to assasinate Jon's character for their own insignificant ship (ex political jon). BUT HONESTLY? It's not that that bothers me so much. It's fan fiction. You can do whatever you want. If you want to write a political jon au go for it. I hope you love it. What bothers me is that they try to apply their shitty au's and theories to the actual show and books!!! (I'm sorry but the books have nothing jonsa in them like one line at best). They apply this to the show and then put their fingers in their ears and sing 'lalalala cant hear you" when faced with facts. Of Jonerys and Jonsa, one of us has facts, canon, interviews, SCRIPTS, the fucking TELEVISION SHOW ITSELF, the title of the books is ICE AND FIRE ffs, and the other has.... theories. Okay. I know which side I'm on.

TLDR Twist and murder Jon's character all you like in fan fiction, but leave him alone in canon.

I just want to share with you guys one of my favorite Season 8 fics out there. It sort of flew under the radar, but I have to admit that I’ve read it around four or five times now all the way through. This won for Best Boatsex for the Jonerys Fan Fiction Awards 2017. And while the smut in this fic is top notch, it’s the relationship between the two main characters that constantly has me coming back over and over again. Read this fic. Read it now.
