Building on the favourite animal ask, another Very Important Question: favourite PREHISTORIC animal? And why? (I've always loved gorgonopsids and pterosaurs like anurognathus, but a new favourite is aquilolamma the eagle shark. They're just very cute).
I feel like my top favorites are pretty pedestrian, but I like prehistoric deer a lot!
due to circumstances (stuck in my house feeling like a caged animal bc of wildfire smoke) I have crocheted another fish! I stuffed this one with old clothes instead of polyester fiber filling like the previous ones I’ve made, and I actually like it way better bc the extra weight makes the fish so realistically floppy! and it’s perfect for whacking people with! >:)
Alt text for video: Two short clips of my hand holding the crocheted fish and flopping it around to demonstrate how the weight makes it move realistically. In the first clip I’m holding the fish by the middle and flopping it up and down. In the second clip, I’m holding the fish by the tail and making it wiggle from side to side. In the background of both clips you can hear my brother practicing the mandalorian theme on the piano. End alt text.
I was tagged by @babyhoneyheslt to post a snippet. This is my fic for @1dsongfest (locally known as the swimmer fic) 🏊🏻🩲🌊
The announcer in the arena announced the first heats, but he didn’t bother looking up as they rattled off the names in the relay groups. First the women and then the men. They hurtled through the races so quickly that he’d only read half a chapter when he heard Harry’s name called over the intercom.
He looked up sharply and scanned the swimmers on the blocks, spotting Harry all the way in lane number seven. He was pulling at his cap on his head adjusting it before shaking out his arms and leaning down to the starting position.
He nudged Liam and said, “he’s in lane seven.”
Liam looked over and then Louis watched his eyes tighten as he squinted. “I don’t know how you can even tell.”
He couldn’t say he’d touched every inch of that body, the curve of his waist, the muscles in his legs, gripped the strength in his shoulders.
So, instead he said, “they called his name. You must have missed it.”

Some character designs I created for my uni course last year as part of a “trope smashing” brief! I really enjoyed how these guys turned out - I see them as a private investigative pair in a fantasy victorian-esque setting, with perhaps some sci-fi elements. And yes, they’re husbands.
