Who’s Loss  • England Lionesses

Request:  If you write this type of thing maybe R X Lionesses where it's a big game and R found out that her sibling has been put in the hospital or one of her parents died. Throughout the match R is playing terrible and is missing shots,passes,touches and Leah shouts at them on the pitch and half time or end of the game everyone it shouting at R and blaming them until either Jill comes in and hugs R out of nowhere or R leaves at some point to the hospital (unless they have already passed away) and the team found out what happened and u can decide

You have no idea what is going on with you but you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Your football isn’t working, whatever you try you fail at it. Your passes aren’t connecting, you let the opposition foul you as if you are blind to their presence near you and you’re playing your worst football.

The look on Leah’s face would be an understatement for how you felt. It was an incredibly important match against Germany who were here on a revenge tour for the lost Euros, worst time for revenge at least for England because you were in a World Cup semi-final and it looked like you were losing. 

You didn’t want to think in such a negative way, it was still only the 38’th minute of the game, nowhere near being finished but the score was 1-0 to Germany and you doubted you would be able to help your team to a goal, not with the way you’ve been playing. Or not playing, that’s what Leah shouted at you the last time she passed you exactly two minutes ago.

It was rightful of her to be angry at you as captain. It was her job to make sure the team could give their all but you weren’t co-operating. You were trying but once again, nothing was working and you helplessly watched as the ball rolled over the side line under your foot, you mistimed it. 

“Y/N THE BALL FOR GOD’S SAKE!” Leah’s shout is louder than the screaming of the fans and you’re met with a harsh glare from the blonde. The rest of your teammates are sporting similar looks, many of them refusing to even look your way and you let yourself take a glance at Sarina.

You were playing terribly but if Sarina kept you in she must think differently, it could cost her and England a World Cup though and you definitely didn’t want that, much less to be the reason for the loss. You realize she might just sub you off at half time and for a mere second you’re relieved about it.

Leah has been on your ass the whole 40 minutes of the first half and she made sure you knew just how much she wanted you off the field in this moment, you did not blame her, once again, but the comments and constant glares did hurt. 

You knew why you weren’t doing your best, scratch that, why you were playing like you’ve never seen a football. Recently your older brother had been diagnosed with cancer and he fought hard but it had been late and the chemo therapies were doing little to help him and he spent most of his days tied to a hospital bed. Not literally, but it felt like that for the both of you.

The two of you were very close despite the five year age gap, he had always been someone you could rely on, he was the reason you started playing because your parents were against the idea until he talked to them and they allowed you to try yourself out in the sport. 

He knew he didn’t have much time left but you’d always deny it despite seeing how weak he was getting, you were in denial you didn’t want to lose your big brother. 

His condition got a lot worse two days ago and he was rushed to urgent care, hence why you weren’t able to focus on the match you were supposed to be playing. All your thoughts were consumed by the well being of your brother and guilt at not being there with him in the hospital on what would undoubtedly be one of his last days with you. 

When the half time whistle is blown you’re bent over, hands resting on your knees as you breathe in deeply and you watch as both teams make their way back to the tunnel and their respective changing rooms. You feel the presence next to you but you don’t dare to look up knowing exactly who it is, instead they lean down to your height making sure no one else would hear.

“Get yourself together Y/L/N or I will have you subbed off and you’ll watch your team lose on the bench.” This isn’t the Leah you know, and you know she’s not herself right now, the girl is under immense amount of pressure and you were not helping her case. 

You give her a small nod and she leaves you there, eventually one of the staff members walking onto the pitch to escort you to the changing room after your teammates.

Whispers are what you hear first when you enter the room and none of the girls notice your presence as harsh comments are thrown around, all of which are about them wanting you on the bench or that you’re threatening their chance of winning the World Cup.

You let them whisper, too consumed by your own thoughts until loud cheers interrupt the negative and hopeless energy.

“JILL!” in an instant the girls are piling on the retired footballer who greets them with a big smile and gives them a short pep talk about not giving up.

Her eyes are set on you however and she beckons you over, the look in her eyes making you hold your breath. The girls watch confused as Jill guides you into the corridor before the door closes in Leah’s face and whispers are exchanged again, this time about whether you were going to get an earful from the woman or not.

Just as the whispers die down they’re replaced with loud booming sobs and wails, your crying echoes off the walls of the hallways and if anyone were to take a look out their door they’d witness your collapsed form that Jill tries to hold up, her own tears running down her face. Instead your team just assumes you were, thankfully, going to be sent off the pitch. 

The sobs quiet down after a few minutes until the area goes silent and the next time your teammates see you you’re ready to walk back onto the field, much to their surprise.

There’s a fire in your eyes, along with something else they haven’t yet figured out but the second half of the match it’s like you’re a completely new person from the one before, you’re yourself.

Aggressively playing the game you were so passionate about and Leah isn’t shouting at you as much as before, but it’s not enough. With the score at 1-1 by the end of added time, the teams are forced to go into a penalty shootout.

It’s beyond stressful and you can’t help but bite at your nails as each player takes a shot.

Fran first, German player, you’re too focused on the ball to notice who on the other team lines up, Lauren then German player and so on until England’s fourth player, Lauren Hemp has taken her shot. Both teams are still at an equal, three shots in one shot missed and as Germany miss their final penalty, you know this is England’s final chance at winning the semi-finals.

Leah looked around for someone to take it, usually you were England’s key free kick and penalty taker but she was doubting your capabilities right now, especially after the first half of the match.

Nonetheless, you approach your captain with a determined look.

“Please Leah, let me take it, please I promise you” you’re begging her at this point, desperately pleading with her and she contemplates. For a moment she looks to Sarina only to find the manager enthusiastically nodding as if she hadn’t seen the way you played the first 45 minutes. But if Sarina believes in you, and she does then so does Leah. 

Your eyes zero in on the goalkeeper and everything around you goes silent, focus on getting the ball where it belongs in the back of the net. Much like the past two hours, your mind wanders elsewhere and with the feeling of your brother next to you, waiting for your big moment you take a final breath and run up.

You strike the ball, a strike that barely has the ball spinning and it’s in slow motion as the goalkeeper dives in the direction of the ball. 

You could practically hear Leah cursing herself for letting you take the shot but then suddenly the ball changes directions and ends up in the upper left corner, opposite of where the goalkeeper had reached. 

Screams of joy are heard throughout the stadium as you run towards the corner flag before falling to your knees. You dedicate it to your big brother as you point to the sky, head tilted upwards as tears flow down your cheeks and your body shakes as you’re overwhelmed with emotion.

Teammates pile on you and hug you but you pay them no mind, eyes set on the starry sky above until Sarina reaches over and pulls you out from the pile.

You let yourself drape over her shoulders as she hugs you and congratulates you, she was the only one apart from Jill who knew about your brother’s condition. She believed in you too, just like he had.

“He’s so very proud of you Y/N” she lets you know and you nod into her shoulder, letting her go after a few moments.

You avoid eye contact with your teammates, all who share guilty looks amongst each other and you head for the German team to thank them for the game and console them. Many had been your club teammates just a year ago. 

Leah watches as your form gets smaller as you walk further down the pitch to Lena and she turns to Jill.

A few other girls crowd the former England player demanding for answers to their questions. The next time Leah turns to you, the blonde has a sorrowful look on her face, one she shouldn’t have after winning a World Cup semi-final but she feels like she’s betrayed you.

The English girls glance at each other, defeated and guilty expressions as they learn about your brother. You avoid all of them as long as you can and your captain has known you long enough to realize what was next. 

You were going to turn off your emotions, it’s what you did when something became overwhelming and you were hurt. The way you chewed on your lip to keep the tears at bay and the looks some of the German players shot told her enough and though to the outside world it just looked like the Germans were salty about the loss, Leah and the team knew it was something else. 

Her thoughts are far from the World Cup as she holds her head, now more upset with herself than anyone else as she remembers what she has said during the game. 

She was a complete asshole and she let your friends do the same too, she didn’t know if you’d let them back in again, if you were going to be willing to call them your team again.

New Season Pass Prices

I'm seeing a lot of misinfo going around about this. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY 20 FOR EVERY SEASON PASS GOING FORWARD. And please don't spend anything like that on a whim! I will include a full math breakdown of how much you need to spend depending on what you want to buy.

Please don't spread the misinfo online. Telling people that they need to cash out 20 for every new season pass is a lie. When this lie is corrected and a more reasonable explanation is given, people will feel like the actual pricing is more reasonable and will not be inclined to complain. We WANT people to complain. We want people to tell Bungie that we want to be able to purchase the exact amount of silver needed. If people stop complaining, this will never happen. But complaining with lies will not get us anywhere because they are lies. Our chances of making this happen are slim to begin with, we don't want to push people away from trying. We also don't want people to spend the wrong (extra) amount for no reason.

The math

The latest TWAB states the following:

Season Pass: 1,000 Silver -> 1,200 Silver Season Pass + 10 Ranks Bundle: 2,000 Silver -> 2,200 Silver

The current price of 1000 silver is $10/€10 (gonna be using $ only for simplicity, but it applies to euro as well. This is obviously different in different currencies but the rate should be comparatively the same). The current cost of a season pass is 1000 silver.

Going forward (starting with Season of the Deep), the cost of a season will be 1200 silver. This amounts to $12. The problem is that there is no 1200 silver bundle. Silver is available in the following bundles for these prices (same on all platforms):

500 silver = $4.99 1000 silver (+100) = $9.99 2000 silver (+300) = $19.99 3000 silver (+500) = $29.99 5000 silver (+1000) = $49.99

Please read under if you want a full breakdown of best combinations and how to pair these bundles for your needs without having to spend too much on something you don't need:

In order to buy a single season going forward, the minimum (and recommended) thing to buy would be to grab the 500 bundle and the 1000 bundle which amounts to $15. The 1000 silver bundle will also give you extra 100 silver so with this purchase of $15 you will have 1600 silver.

You will spend 1200 on one season which will leave you with 400 silver. If you do not spend any of this silver, this means that in order to buy more seasons, you only have to pay $10 for the 1100 pack. This means that if you buy Season of the Deep for $15, you will only have to spend $10 (same as you do now) for season 22. Thats $25 for two seasons, an increase of only $5 from how it is right now. Don't let people convince you that you have to give $40 for two seasons.

The full example for this specific scenario (buys Deep, wants to buy the next two seasons):

-Season of the Deep only = 15$ (500+1100 silver). You now have 1600 silver and the season costs 1200.

leftover silver = 400

-If you decide you want season 22, you will need = $10 (1100 silver). You now have 1500 silver and the season costs 1200.

leftover silver = 300

-If you decide you also want season 23 (final season this year), you will need = $10 (1100 silver). You now have 1400 silver and the season costs 1200.

leftover silver = 200

This means that you have spent $35 on three seasons, which until now would've cost you $30 (increase of $5). You also have a leftover of 200 for the future which means that the future season you want to purchase will also only cost you $10. So a single purchase of $15 will reduce the cost to $10 for four seasons with leftovers before you have to spend another $15.

Is it worth getting the more expensive bundles ($29.99 and $49.99)? Let's check!

First and foremost, the biggest pack ($49.99 for 5000 silver+1000 extra) is not worth it. This will be enough for 4 seasons and a significant amount of extra silver, but if you know you will play all 4 seasons, you might as well just get the deluxe version of the game which is cheaper in the long run and also includes the dungeon key right away.

What about the $29.99? We figured out that for the next three seasons you only have to spend $35. Can you buy three seasons with the pack for $29.99? Let's see. This pack will give you 3000 raw silver + 500 extra. Each season is 1200 which means that 3 seasons are 3600 which means you will not have enough for 3 seasons if you buy the $29.99 pack. You would have to add another pack of 500 which means you'd essentially have to spend the same amount of money ($35), but would have a leftover of 400 silver total, instead of only 200 at the end of the year. If you want more leftover silver for less money, this might be worth it for you.

This might be worth it also if you already have leftover silver right now. If you have 100 or more silver in your account right now, you can grab the $29.99 pack and be able to buy the next three seasons. This also only applies if you KNOW that will be buying 3 new seasons in the future.

What about the $19.99 pack? This pack will give you 2000 silver + 300 extra. Same as the pack before, this will leave you 100 silver short for two seasons (you will have 2300, but you need 2400). That means, again, you would have to add 500 for $5, making the cost of two seasons $25 and with a leftover of 300. This is the same leftover that you would have if you spend $15 for Deep and add $10 for season 22, meaning that this option is exactly the same. You can buy Deep for $15 and add $10 for the next one ( = $25) or you can grab the bundle for $20 and add $5 to get the same value for two seasons with the same amount of leftover silver. This is worth it if you know that you will buy at least 2 seasons in the future.

A lot of this depends on you never spending your leftover silver. If you spend it or if you buy more silver packs during the season, the count might get off. What you have to know, in case you're spending, is to always leave a minimum of 100 silver in your account. That means that you can grab the $10 pack which gives a total of 1100 silver. With your 100 leftover, that's 1200 for the season.

I want to make something clear: if Bungie makes a silver bundle of 1200 for $12, then three seasons will cost $36 instead of $35 they do currently. Making a season pass bundle will actually increase the cost by $1. However, it's important to account for the psychological impact of leftover silver; having leftover silver makes people bound to the game. They don't want to leave an account that has unspent money on it and that makes people more likely to not just want to keep investing, but also to spend that leftover. And since that leftover is not really enough to buy much of anything, that pushes people to buy more packs. This is why this is a predatory practice in the first place. It's the illusion of having more options and getting extra leftovers, but in reality that just makes people spend more.

Not only that, but this is also obviously confusing and requires you to plan ahead and weigh your options all the time. It would be much better if there was just a way to get the season directly for the exact amount it actually costs = $12. With these math shenanigans, you will always have to spend a minimum of $15 for a season, which is $3 extra that you shouldn't have to spend, even if it gives you extra silver.

However, you never have to spend $20 for a single season. You could, and you could end up with a lot of extra silver, but if you want to buy another season, you would have to add a minimum of $5 to be able to buy it. Technically you can absolutely spend $20 for a season and use all of the extra silver on cosmetics, but that is NOT required. It's up to your personal spending interests and capabilities.

If you only want Season of the Deep, grab the 500+1100 bundles ($15). If you decide you want the other two seasons, you will only have to add $10 for them.

If you're sure you want at least 2 seasons, grab the 500+2300 bundle ($25). If you decide you want more, you will also only have to add $10 to any subsequent purchase and you will have slightly more leftovers.

The ultimate goal is to ask Bungie to allow us to purchase seasons directly for the exact price. We want to complain (civilly, of course. Do not yell at employees, they don't like this either) to make Bungie create a bundle for seasons only or simply allow us to purchase a season with money directly. The increase is not as drastic as some people make it out to be, but that doesn't mean it's not bad. With the current silver system, it's absolutely bad and relies on people not looking into it and not doing the math because it's a lot to work out and think about. We should be able to purchase a season for the exact amount the season costs ($12) instead of having to wrestle with math charts.

Players would not be so angry about it if we were treated with respect and not preyed upon by these practices. For most, $12 is not too bad and we can all understand that costs of everything are shooting up. These $12 pay for 3 months of content, which means that the monthly subscription for Destiny is, essentially, $4. This is less than any other online game and even other media services. Even if you buy the whole expansion with all seasons for $100 per year, that amounts to $8,3 monthly subscription for Destiny, still among the cheapest online services. Obviously, it depends on the person whether or not this is worth it.

But we definitely do not enjoy this half-assed increase which advertises as being $12 but it doesn't allow you to only spend $12; you have to spend a minimum of $15 and then we are being baited with extra silver leftovers. This should absolutely be something we're mad about as it is. We don't have to lie about it being $20 or double the current price. The misinfo will just make people more complacent. When they realise that it's not actually $20, they will think of the real price as reasonable and will no longer be mad about it. Don't do some marketing CEO's work for them and don't make people think they have to spend more than they do.

No matter what, we as players deserve to be able to buy the season for its real price which is $12. We will currently have to spend a minimum of $15, which is not as bad as $20, but it's still a bad precedent to set, especially when you pair it with this amount of work to figure out which combination of bundles is best for you.

I want to make that clear. Just because it's not $20, doesn't mean it's good. The situation isn't ideal as it is and we as players should absoultely ask Bungie to not treat us this way. Maybe the silver bundle prices can't be changed right now due to various possible issues with how their contracts work, but this is something I want to see changed in the future.

Honestly. I'm 40/60 on whether they had some Awareness of Life Before (no specific memories, or maybe nothing past childhood, but some understanding of what earth was like) or just really no definite memories at all.

I think it's slightly more likely that it really was a complete mindwipe - just because we spent so much space in NtN on Nona's POV of waking up without memories in an adult body, with little awareness of society but a very strong sense of identity and personality that was dictated by her soul. Occam's razor etc; I think doylistically TM wrote all those pages for a reason. Assuming she's going to return on the subject of the memory wipe in AtN (and it's possible, because Pyrrha remembers earth) I think it makes more sense for the audience to be able to link to to the amnesia plot we have already read about, instead of having to introduce a new "and this is how I woke up with missing memories" description.

Anyway! That said. I think John wouldn't have talked about earth. I doubt the og gang (the first gen disciples) remember much if at all, and I don't even know if they would have cared to find out. There's a brand new world to create and THEY are the chosen few who get to shape it; who cares about the past? And later as they get more disillusioned with John, they probably associate "remembering life before" to "being fucking obsessed with revenge" and once again, what's the point in asking how it worked if it's gone anyway?

As spring break started, Marija and I decided to go on a quick trip to Slovenia. We went by a bus, because none of us drives (yet:)). The time spent in the bus was amazing because we were able to sleep the whole time (which was also the best sleep of our lives). 

The first stop was Lake Bled, where we had a nice welcome from the tour guide. He was very friendly and throughout humour, told the history of Bled, that goes all the way back to the Stone Age, when humans were first traced there. The most interesting part of Bled's history for me, was about Bled Island and Bled Castle. 

Bled Island  (Blejski otok) is famous for the church that is placed there called the Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja) that was originally built around the year of 1470. However, the church's current form was re-built in the 17th century. Tourists are able to visit this place and come by a canoe. The time needed to come to the island is around 40 minutes. A part of the church is a 52 m long tower. Weddings are frequently held here and as part of the tradition, it is considered good luck for the groom to carry his bride (on the day of the wedding) up the 99 stone steps that are placed in the tower. Unfortunately, since it was cold and raining, we weren't able to go this island (this time).

Bled Castle (Blejski grad) is the oldest Slovenian castle, firstly mentioned in 1011, in a May deed donation issued by Emperor Henry II. It is placed above the lake and it takes around 20 minutes to get to the castle by steps. Marija and I were a little complaining here because it started to rain and the jumpers and havy coats that we wore that day, werent practical. After we got the top and paid 30 euros for the entrance, we were really disapointed becuase other then a good view and skin products store, you can only see stone.. 

When we came to Ljubljana it was already late, so we ended up staying there for only 2 hours. 

All in all, we had a really good time as always, and we are looking forward for our next trip together.

In the song, Winans pleads to his lady to keep her dirt secret. The smash, which spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in February of 2004, was a sample of The Fugees “Ready Or Not”.

Coi Leray gave us yet another TikTok sensation with her 2022 song “Players”. What you may not have noticed is the sample of Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five’s “The Message”. Coi’s record was released as the 1982 terminal hit turned 40.

Grandmaster Flash and Leray actually met for a celebratory dinner where Flash blessed the record and Coi’s hard work!

UK breakout artist Central Cee is another artist with a knack for making viral hits. One of his most notable 2022 records – “Doja” –  is derived from a sample of Eve & Gwen Stefani’s 2001 hit “Blow Ya Mind”. You may have heard the often-recited lyrics of “Doja”, “How can I be homophobic? My b—- is gay.” However, you may not have been privy to the fact Eve personally signed off on the Euro Hip Hop track calling it “everything”.

On BBC’s 1EXTRA RAP SHOW, the Ruff Ryder’s First Lady explained the rizz that made her instantly approve the sample.

First of all, knowing and living in London, his name’s already been ringing and I liked him. I was like, ‘Yo, he’s a dope artist.’ And then we got the song and I was like, ‘This song is everything!’”

The song samples Donna Summer’s 1976 disco classic “Could It Be Magic”. However, the track was noticeably absent from Gunna’s album, “DS4Ever”, when it dropped on January 7, 2022. In an interview with Complex, Gunna reveals that the song was delayed over clearance issues.

“I originally sampled Donna Summer,” Gunna said. “I don’t even know her, because I’m so young. But she was a legend and her estate couldn’t get back in time for my album.”

If you’ve been out to basically any gathering or event this summer, you’ve probably heard “Good Love” featuring the City Girls. This feel-good dance jam has made waves from social media to the skating rink to family cookouts.

The familiar bump in the bass and repetitive rhythm takes us back to the ’90s and ’00s when denim cut-off shorts and gold door knocker hoops were in their prime. In Its First Monopoly Trial of Modern Internet Era, U.S. Sets Sights on Google (NYT) The Justice Department has spent three years over two presidential administrations building the case that Google illegally abused its power over online search to throttle competition. To defend itself, Google has enlisted hundreds of employees and three powerful law firms and spent millions of dollars on legal fees and lobbyists. On Tuesday, a judge in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia will begin considering their arguments at a trial that cuts to the heart of a long-simmering question: Did today’s tech giants become dominant by breaking the law? The case—U.S. et al. v. Google—is the federal government’s first monopoly trial of the modern internet era, as a generation of tech companies has come to wield immense influence over commerce, information, public discourse, entertainment and labor. The trial moves the antitrust battle against those companies to a new phase, shifting from challenging their mergers and acquisitions to more deeply examining the businesses that thrust them into power. Such a consequential case over tech power has not unfolded since the Justice Department took Microsoft to court in 1998 for antitrust violations. But since then, companies like Google, Apple, Amazon and Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, have woven themselves into people’s lives to an even greater degree.

US slips to fifth in ‘best country’ list (The Hill) U.S. News and World Report released its new annual Best Countries ranking, revealing that the U.S. dropped a spot Wednesday. The U.S. moved from fourth to fifth place in the rankings from 2022 to 2023. Switzerland again topped the rankings, followed by Canada, which moved up a spot, Sweden, which jumped two spots and Australia, which jumped three. The fall of the U.S. in the rankings is the first time in years the country has done so since 2018. Brazilian flood toll tops 30 (CNN) At least 31 people have died as a result of the extratropical cyclone which hit the Brazilian area of Rio Grande Do Sul. The storm is expected to continue impacting the region until the end of the week. According to CNN Brasil, this week’s rains are the worst natural disaster to hit the state in 40 years.

Russia says US supply of depleted uranium weapons to Ukraine is ‘criminal’ (Reuters) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday that the US supply of depleted uranium weapons to Ukraine was “a criminal act”, state media reported. The Pentagon on Wednesday announced a new security assistance package worth up to $175 million for Ukraine, including depleted uranium ammunition for U.S. Abrams tanks. A by-product of uranium enrichment, depleted uranium is used for ammunition because its extreme density gives rounds the ability to easily penetrate armor plating. Critics say there are dangerous health risks from ingesting or inhaling depleted uranium dust, including cancers and birth defects. “This is not just an escalatory step, but it is a reflection of Washington’s outrageous disregard for the environmental consequences of using this kind of ammunition in a combat zone. This is, in fact, a criminal act, I cannot give any other assessment,” TASS quoted Ryabkov as saying. In a speech at a security seminar, he also reiterated previous warnings by Russia about the risk of a nuclear war, because of what he called Western “pressure” on Moscow.

Belarusian President Cuts Off Exiled Citizens With Passport Ban (Bloomberg) Belarusian embassies will no longer issue passports, a move that may hurt the diaspora’s ability to stay abroad legally unless its members risk a trip home where repressions continue unabated. President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on Monday which only allows people to apply for new passports in Belarus. It also requires that owners of real estate and cars to either be physically present in order to sell their property, or produce a power of attorney signed inside Belarus. I was asking her to come up to bed for an hour before that, and she insisted in staying downstairs. I know one shouldn’t blame victims, but it’s just upsetting. I am so hurt.

Anyways, I did my internship for 12 weeks, Ellie did hers for 8 or so, maybe 9. Every weekend Ellie and I would go to Aldi and get food to make a large batch entree for us to take to lunch. Mostly casseroles. She would pack my lunch most times, that was sweet of her. Her and I make such a good team. We got water bottle flavors and white cheddar cheese crackers. Oh, something else to mention is that Colby kind of got me the internship, so that was nice. He works there too. It was my first computer science related job and I loved it. I got to sit at a desk and code all day. My boss, Jaicub, was kind of needlessly mean sometimes though. According to my coworkers he used to be worse. Like, he would put “:)“s in his emails and I couldn’t tell if they were genuine or passive aggressive. It was definitely a good experience. I worked with Java for the first time. Learned a lot about Bash, Git, Perl, sed, tmux, and other things while making utilities for myself. I was paid $16/hour, which is less than I would have liked. Near the end of the internship my boss and his boss talked with me in the big boss’s office and we discussed next summer and what my plans were. They said that they already had it approved for me to get $30/hour next summer, which is exactly what I was planning on asking for, so that made my day to hear.

With about 3 weeks left in the summer we moved out of Roy’s apartment because the lease was up. Luckily, the lease expired at an opportune time for Ellie to move in to her apartment at the university that I mentioned in my last post. She got the job, she likes it so far. It is a private university and very old. We got to experience the first few weeks there together which was nice. I am so sad that she will not be with me at my current university this year and next. I have cried so much over this, but it is for the best in the long run. We will still see each other almost every day because she still takes classes here, but it will not be the same. She won’t just be 2 minutes away and always there for going to the dining halls or events. I feel very lonely. I like being alone a lot, but having friends around for when I want them. Right now, I don’t know anyone on campus. 2 of my close friends graduated, and the other 2 live off campus now. Chris lives with his girlfriend like 10 minutes from campus, and Colby lives with his girlfriend like 20 minutes from campus. I am alone this year and next. I live in a room that is less than 100 sqft. That is alright though because it is just me, and all I do is sit at a computer. I don’t like communal bathrooms though. I just sneezed. The apartment that Ellie is at is really nice. Her brother is also living there with her because he is 26 and was still living at their parents house. He is most likely on the autism spectrum, so moving out is a bit scary for him and this is probably a good step for him. When Ellie had the idea I did not think much about it and its implications, but as time went on I got a bit sad that I wasn’t her person. As a graduate assistant she gets to have one person officially live with her and that person gets a special parking spot (like her) and a meal plan (also like her). It makes me sad that I am not that person. I didn’t realize it would bother me until it did. But luckily that university gave me a 6 month visitor pass that allows me to park in a lot of places, including the special spots. That made me feel a bit better. I will be living there during the summer and winter breaks, but that is secret.

This post is getting to be really big and it is kind of late. it is 10:40 PM on a Wednesday. Tomorrow is the first day of classes this semester. I am going into my senior year, sadder than any other year. My first class is at 9:15 AM so I shouldn’t be up for much longer. I might have missed some details, but that is the most of it.
