In Christianity, apotheosis is a process of divinization of an individual, meaning that a person crosses the dividing line between God and people. Eastern Christian theology says that it is a transformation that aims to reach the likeness of union with God. The featured 19th-century Russian icon by an anonymous icon painter depicts the scene of the apotheosis of Basil the Great, known as one of the most influential trailblazers of Christian monasticism of his time.

His parents' names were Basil and Emmelia. We're On The Case// Closed RP// basilthegreat

Rosemary walked through the streets of Storybrooke and looked around at what seemed like another quiet day. Nothing really out of the ordinary, which before her accident wouldn't have been a problem. The woman used to be rather restless and adventurous, but now she calmed down after the coma and death of her fiance.

A little further down the street though, Rose saw a crowd, a rather big one, already an odd sight to see in Storybrooke, but when she saw the police lights flashing she hobbled over as fast as she could to investigate.

When she reached the point of the commotion she saw a white sheet, covering a rather large form, it almost looked like a body, but murders never happened in the small town, peaking the red heads interest even more.

Today we celebrate the Synaxis of the Patron Saints of SOPHIA USyd, Saints Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John the Chrysostom. During the eleventh century, a dispute arose among the Christians as to which Hierarch of the three were greatest. The Christians split in three groups calling themselves Basilians, Gregorians, and Johannites respectively. Through the will of God, the Three Hierarchs appeared separately and then together to Saint John the Bishop of Euchaita saying that they were all equal in the eyes of God and that “there are no divisions among us, and no opposition to one another.” Therefore, the Bishop ordered that the disputes cease and that the Church in her wisdom ordain a day of common commemoration of the Three Hierarchs on this day, thus ending the controversy in peace. The three saints together are considered the Patron Saints of education, and have thus been adopted as the Patron Saints of SOPHIA.
