hi hello! ive been here for prayer requests a few times, thank you and bless you for answering them so graciously and kindly.

im here this time more for advice, if thats okay? im conflicted at the moment. i dont go to church anymore after a few bad experiences there, but i pray nightly and talk to Mary every time i have a few minutes spare in a day. i recently was gifted a statue of Her, and the comfort it has brought me is so so lovely. i say my prayers in front of Her every night now, on a little tabletop altar i made, and i speak to Her throughout the day. however, i cant help but feel guilty for not going to church and instead relying on Her divine intervention and grace for myself. i hope that makes sense? i still talk to God in my prayers, but i feel like im letting Him down by not going to church

Hello! Welcome back it’s always good to have you. Sure, you can ask and I’ll do my best to answer. You’re welcome!

First off, I want to say that I am so sorry that you had bad experiences with the church in the past. I know how bad a mass can be, and even how the people around can treat us in the pew despite being there for the same reason. It must be difficult. I am, however, glad you still pray! What a beautiful gift and prays you make. Prayer is what connects us to God. Please know I will keep you in my prayers.

Ok. Now let’s see what our faith officially says for your situation (disclaimer I am not a scholar, a Seminarian, or part of the clergy I am a lay person so this is my best quote I could think of)::

2042 The first precept (“You shall attend Mass on Sundays and on holy days of obligation and rest from servile labor”) requires the faithful to sanctify the day commemorating the Resurrection of the Lord as well as the principal liturgical feasts honoring the mysteries of the Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the saints; in the first place, by participating in the Eucharistic celebration, in which the Christian community is gathered, and by resting from those works and activities which could impede such a sanctification of these days.

The second precept (“You shall confess your sins at least once a year.”) ensures preparation for the Eucharist by the reception of the sacrament of reconciliation, which continues Baptism’s work of conversion and forgiveness.

The third precept (“You shall receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter season.”) guarantees as a minimum the reception of the Lord’s Body and Blood in connection with the Paschal feasts, the origin and center of the Christian liturgy. —- #2042 pages 548-549. Catechism of the Catholic Church Second Edition.

You are required to come to Mass at a in person at minimum once a year. You know what I would do? I would go to a different Catholic Church you haven’t been in, don’t go back to the one(s) you had the bad experience in. You are not legally required to keep going to that church(es) that hurt you. Even if you need to travel, set a day one day out of the year. Sit in the back pews. You can practice what Mass will be like by watching videos of it on YouTube.

God alone knows your heart. He saw exactly what you went through and sees the pain you have. He isn’t disappointed in you, He loves you more than mom and dad because God is love. He sees how hard this has been for you and He is so patient, rich in mercy and kindness. He knows when you’re ready you’ll go back. For now, keep praying. You know what I would do? I would listen to Relevant Radio. Download their free app you can listen to it anywhere. They have a Mass you can listen to daily and have rich resources of prayers and past shows recorded for you to listen all you want about the faith. I listen to it just about every weekday, and I think it may be a great source of comfort for you in this season. I also recommend this ministry I found during Covid when they banned going to church, Word on Fire. Something else you can do, that helped me bring comfort, is watching The Chosen. Download their free app. It’s not specifically Catholic but it’s amazing I highly recommend it. It’s not a replacement for the Bible but it will help deepen your faith no matter how old you are. Another great resource to have is the USCCB. You don’t have to be American to use the USCCB but it’s interesting.

In its first military transport mission to participate in operational activity, the KC-30, the largest aircraft in the history of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), made an important flight to Chile. Follow on video and photos how this mission was.

The aircraft was responsible for the mobilization of 59 passengers and 18 tons of cargo from Rio de Janeiro (RJ) to the Cerro Moreno Air Base, in Antofagasta, in northern Chile, where the fourth edition of the Salitre Combined Multinational Air Exercise takes place from October 10 to 21.

Facing adverse weather and strong winds, the baptismal flight lasted four hours and took place on Saturday morning (08/10), crossing part of the vast mountain range from the Andes Mountains to the Atacama region, the driest desert in the world.

The Commander of the Second Squadron of the Second Transport Group (2nd/2nd GT) - Corsair Squadron, Lieutenant Colonel Aviator Marcos Fassarella Olivieri, reported that the KC-30 has already been fulfilling international missions since its incorporation into the FAB in July this year. "We have already made flights to cities such as Washington, Madrid and Lisbon, but this was the first operational mission, which demonstrates the resumption of strategic transport in the Brazilian Air Force," he stressed.

Captain Aviator Lucas Braga, pilot of the 2nd/2nd GT, explained that the flight was specially prepared to face the geographical specificities of the region. "The route we did requires a lot of planning, especially in the meteorological issue. The Andes Mountains is one of the largest mountain ranges in the world, and the great elevation causes certain conditions of turbulence due to the intense winds. So, we checked if this type of wind and these conditions would not affect the safety of the flight," he said.

Refueling in flight

Soon after the flight of the KC-30, six F-5M fighters and one KC-390 Millennium flew from Canoas Air Base, in Rio Grande do Sul, to Antofagasta. The KC-390 refueled the fighter aircraft in flight, transferring 14 tons of fuel, allowing the receiving aircraft to remain on mission for longer, extending their autonomy and range.

The KC-390 can transfer up to 25 tons of fuel to other aircraft, with a minimum ratio of approximately 360 kilograms per minute.

This is the fourth time that FAB has been active in the Exercise, whose last version was held eight years ago, in 2014. In this edition, the Brazilian delegation is made up of 75 military personnel and has the participation of seven FAB aircraft, belonging to the First Fighter Aviation Group (1°GAVCA) - Jambock and Pif-Paf Squadrons; to the First Squadron of the Eleventh Aviation Group (1st/14th GAV) - Pampa Squadron; to the First Troop Transport Group (1st GTT

In all, from FAB there are six F-5M fighters, a KC-390 Millennium, in addition to the KC-30, which made the mobilization to Chile and will demobilize the Brazilian delegation on the return to the country.

FAB KC-30

With the acquisition of the first Airbus A330-200, which was incorporated with the FAB registration 2901 and will be converted into Multi Role Tanker Transport, the MRTT, the FAB increases its capacity in strategic actions, such as in-flight refueling, logistical support and humanitarian actions, whether national or international. In situations of public calamity, such as natural disasters, pandemics or medical emergencies, the aircraft may also perform Aeromedical Evacuation Missions (EVAM) for a large number of patients.

Two Airbus A330-200 aircraft were acquired in a bidding process, won by the company Azul Linhas Aéreas, and will act with the registrations FAB 2901 and FAB 2902. The arrival of the second unit of the Airbus A330-200 should occur later in October.

The KC-30, 59 meters long, is the largest aircraft ever operated by the Brazilian Air Force, being able to carry up to 238 passengers, 45 tons of cargo and fly a distance of 14.5 thousand kilometers. Thus, the incorporation of the aircraft into the Corsário Squadron will result in a significant increase in the operational efficiency of the FAB in favor of the defense of the country and support for national development.

Christian Growth: Consider the Monarch

When we are required to transform in moving forward with our Divine Purpose, sometimes it can be a more gentle shift, one of initiation by water (baptism by water). There are, however, some things within us that need transformation that will not easily go, and these things are generally the things that we hang on to. In order to move forward, we are pushed into an initiation by fire (baptism by fire). It is being immersed in flames, metaphorically speaking, that burn away old patterns that no longer serve us. Whether it be a belief, a relationship, a community, or a job, sometimes we are not able to let go and go willingly. However, with an initiation by fire, it is going to be uncomfortable one way or another. That being said, going willingly - transforming and allowing the love and grace of Spirit to help you - is certainly easier than fighting it. What is required? GREAT courage and strength to knowingly step through the process of becoming fully you while letting go of the old you. It can be terrifying.Undertaking this kind of work means walking in the shadows of ourselves - digging in the dirt of our past to identify those things obvious as well as those things not so obvious that are hindering forward movement. You have the courage and strength to do this work. The question is, will you choose it? 🔥🦁🧡

True Blood Intro Analysis

True Blood (pro. Alan Ball, 2008-2014) is an HBO show set in southern America following a clairvoyant who discovers the existence of vampires. The plot is masterfully subtilely communicated in the opening montage to the song “Bad Things” by Jace Everett. 

How is it constructed?:

The intro is constructed through a fast paced edited montage. Multiple shots are cut up and spread throughout with b roll in between. The three key, reoccurring shots that are cross cut throughout include:

Flashing, overexposed shot of a couple having presumed sex

Red lit party, in which people can be seen dancing and fighting

African American congregation, where a christening can be witnessed

What type of shots are used? A majority of the shots are close ups and wide shots demonstrating the environment. Likely because the location, and the bizarre events that happen within it, are implied to be a key aspect of the story. Close ups are useful for obscuring as well as highlighting information, which is thematically appropriate for the mysterious aura of the show. 

 Tone / How is it conveyed? Mystery is also demonstrated through the types of footage used. Being a combination of found, historical footage and professionally shot reel, with the found footage containing disturbing imagery, that being of a baptism. A considerable amount of shots also contain a grainy, saturation filter, likely to make key colours such as red pop out more, as seen in the shot of children eating, this makes the images more uncanny and eerie.

The imagery throughout is linked by the themes of:

Death and rebirth

 The colour red 

Low key lighting.

Death and rebirth: 

Death most prominent theme and can be seen in almost every shot. It is first seen in the establishing shots of natural imagery, specifically the tilting shot of lush marshlands, which then cuts to the same marshlands, but dry and barren, demonstrating the death of the nature. Death is also communicated through contrasting shots of predator and pray, as seen between the snake and possum, these insinuate a message of death, and the food chain, linking to how the show is about vampires, and that vampires pray and feed on the blood of humans.

Rebirth is also prominent, however less so than death. Most blatantly demonstrated by the multiple flashing shots of people having sex, or implied sensuality, which can be viewed as an act of procreation. Rebirth is also displayed through the shot of a decomposing animal, and an insect shedding it’s skin and coming out anew. The reoccurring images of baptism and christian can also link to the idea of “coming out anew”, as baptisms can be viewed figuratively and literally as dying to be cleansed and reborn for god.   

Red:

Red is often used to denote many emotions and/or feelings, however is most often used to communicate death, danger and love.

Death: Blood - Links to the theme of vampires. The shot that represents this is the close up of a child’s mouth, messily eating a fruit that stains the rim of his mouth red. This is likely to be symbolic of a vampire who has sucked sucked blood. 

Danger:  Saturated red lighting is used for shots that take place at a party. Parties are known to house dangerous events as many participants may be drinking. This could be indicating impending danger, thematically hinting towards the show headed down a dark path

Love: Red can also be seen as the colour of passion, as demonstrated by the red lit acts of love such as the couple dancing. 

Low key lighting:

A majority of shots take place at night. This communicates the presence of vampires, as vampires cannot go outside during the day. Low key lighting also creates a dark atmosphere, generating a fear for the unknown, representative of the towns ignorance of vampires, which can also be seen as a local mystery .

How do I pray the rosary? 💜

How to Pray the Rosary:

1. While holding the crucifix in your hand, make the Sign of the Cross, followed by reciting The Apostles’ Creed.

2. On the first bead next to the crucifix, recite the Our Father (that’s the prayer Jesus taught us to pray.)

3. On the three small beads, recite the Hail Mary for an increase of faith, hope, and charity.

4. Next on the big bead, recite the Glory Be.

5. Stay on the big bead. You must now decide which set of Mysteries you will pray on. There are four different Mysteries for the Rosary which I will color differently:

Joyful Mysteries (usually said on Monday and Saturday):

The Annunciation

The Visitation

The Nativity

The Presentation

The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Luminous Mysteries (this is usually prayed on Thursday):

Jesus’ Baptism in the Jordan

The Wedding of Cana

The Proclamation of the Kingdom

The Transfiguration of Jesus

The Institution of the Eucharist

Sorrowful Mysteries (this is usually prayed on Tuesday and Wednesday):

The Agony of the Garden

The Scourging at the Pillar

The Crowning of Thorns

6. After you pick which Mystery you want, using the big bead you are paused on recite the first mystery. Reflect on it briefly.

7. Staying on the big bead, recite the Our Father.

8. Move upwards to choose a side you want to start on. Each set is called a decade. Keeping in the mind the first mystery. On each small bead of a decade, pray recite the Hail Mary meanwhile, meditate on the first mystery. (For example, if I wanted to pray the Glorious Mysteries rosary, I could meditate on The Resurrection for the first decade, while reciting the Hail Mary for each bead.)

9. When you are finished the tenth Hail Mary, notice there is a bead that separates the start of the second mystery. Recite the Glory Be (I like to make the sign of the cross with the crucifix when I do this) and then recite the Fatima Prayer.

10. Now you start the second mystery. Recall the second mystery, meditate on it briefly, recite the Our Father. Move onto the new set of decades and repeat the steps above until you are finished making your way around.

11. Go to the big bead. Recite Hail Holy Queen and concluding prayer. I’ve seen people do different ones but I like the Rosary Prayer {Verse) Let us pray, (Response) O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen.}.

12. To finish, use the crucifix to make the sign of the cross.

13. I personally like to kiss the crucifix afterwards as to say thank You to Jesus, but that’s not really required lol.

Those are just some of many videos that describe it. I love to follow along with Mother Angelica and her nuns. The videos made on EWTN show pictures as they pray on each mystery and really helps my visual mind stay focused. Here’s a link to one of the four:

When you say your Rosary, don’t rush through it like you’re reading a newspaper. There is no race. It’s no contest. This is your time to develop your spirituality and holiness. Some people have trouble finishing the rosary due to its repetition, especially when tired. One of them is me if I say it before bed. It is better to meditate one or two decades than to pray nicely on one and rush the rest. Try to make each mystery like a movie in your head. Also, don’t wear the Rosary around your neck like souvenir. It must be treated with respect, as the devil sees it as a sword.

There are a lot of amazing stories of the Rosary. I think my absolute favorite story of the Rosary is how it effected a man called Blessed Bartolo Longo!

Edit: I also highly recommend do not pray the Rosary while you are driving. I don’t want to hear about you dying. Keep your eyes alert at all times. (Don’t use your phone in your hands either. The Last Phoenotopia Blog Update

I debated how to open this blog post, but perhaps the main crux of this blog post is the best place to start. The blog is being retired.

The purpose of this blog was to be a "development" blog for Phoenotopia, and well, Phoenotopia's development is done. I'll still be doing bug fixes and maintenance on the PC and Switch versions, and playstation and xbox ports are underway (by a publisher). But I'm not going to be making any more major changes to the game. At some point, you put the paintbrush down and say it's done. Blemishes and all.

Recent Events

The game launched on Steam last month, and like any launch, it was hectic. Bugs Galore. This is our first commercial PC launch, so it was a real baptism by fire. Unlike Switch's one configuration, the PC has multiple configurations and factors to account for. The game needed to be able to handle multiple control schemes, screen resolutions, refresh rates, and more! I had a 60Hz monitor going into launch and didn't know anything about Hz (I do now). There was a troublesome stutter that some players were sensitive to that my whole team didn't notice since our eyes compensated it away. There were a few times where in fixing something at one party's behest, it introduced problems for another party. A few times, due to disorganization, I unwittingly rolled back a fix that was meant to be applied. For some, the game couldn't play at all (really glad Steam allows refunds).

It was messy. It was tiring. I.AM.BEAT.

I think the worst of it is over... I'll still be around to do the last updates and bug fixes, but I'm ultimately ready for what's next.

SO what is next?

What isn't next... is Phoenotopia 2. As you may have heard down the grapevine, the game couldn't be what you call successful. No one's earned even minimum wage on it.

Maybe there's hope in the game's long tail. A year or two down the line... maybe. I won't hold my breath though. At some point in the past few months, I finished processing (or grieving) and it's time to move on.

The game has at least earned enough for us to continue our modest operations. As long as we don't expand the team, and we don't take another monster six-year dev cycle like what Phoenotopia took, we can continue. We'll have to be smarter and faster. Perhaps the most valuable thing we gained from all this is experience.

The Experience

It is a dev blog. Here are some of the lessons I've accumulated from this game's development.

- Have a good menu design. Menus aren't just that in-between fluff before you get to the good stuff. Menus are KEY. Your menus need to be robust, expandable, and *understandable* (to you, the developer). Because once the game's out, you will invariably be asked to add more options. And if your menu design is bad, every time you have to add a new menu option, it becomes a whole new pain all over again. Support mouse from the get-go, etc.

- Focus on features that people will actually care about. For instance, I've never seen anyone praise the camera's zoom feature. In practice, people try that feature a few times and then never use it again. But that feature was a constant consideration factor for every level. Run through it multiple times to make sure the level didn't break, think about which zoom levels made sense, resize rooms because they worked at one zoom level but not the other, and so on.

- Don't do boxes that you can move around. Other 2D platformers avoid movable boxes because they're a huge headache to program and they really complicate the game space. Enemies need to respond to boxes you throw in their path and either navigate around or attack it. When you're moving the box, you have to worry about constantly changing your collision size and reconciling when the box gets snagged on the environment. The boxes were also a constant source of bugs because people can manipulate them to soft-lock themselves and more.

- More focused script. Phoenotopia's 100,000+ word script was panned more for being bloated than it was praised for being lengthy. Long scripts take a long time to write and make the game more unwieldy, increasing the costs of translation and upkeep. Every update we're addressing some textual error or mistranslation. There are some highly renowned games (e.g. Hyper Light Drifter) that do without a script at all!

- Be flashy! A bat and a lightsaber take the same amount of work to program, but the lightsaber will draw a lot more attention and interest.

- Slopes, surprisingly! Six years ago when I started, Unity was ill-equipped for 2D games. If you used the physics that Unity provided you'd have a really floaty character that wouldn't adhere to the slope when going downhill. There were a hundred different tutorials saying different things (use forces, use move position, use translation, etc). You can get rectangular collisions done in a day, but to do slopes took weeks. Meanwhile, games can actually get by fine without slopes. Most people won't even notice. Did you know the Phoenotopia flash game didn't have slopes? Neither does Hollow Knight or Rogue Legacy. You can save yourself a lot of work by avoiding slopes.

I could write enough little knowledge nuggets like this to fill a book! But I'd rather just make the next game. 

So… what IS next?

As mentioned previously, it's not Phoenotopia 2. Pirate and I are mostly just tossing some ideas back and forth right now. We'll go silent for a year (or two). Our next game's scope will be more modest in some ways, more ambitious in others. It will definitely be more smartly designed. (There will be a map!)

We'll announce it when it's ready for the public. It might be necessary for us to do a kickstarter. I've tried to avoid kickstarters having been burnt on quite a few myself and also because I worry that mismanaging a kickstarter would earn the ire of backers.

But I did keep this blog regularly updated for six years. So I've gained some confidence in my abilities to at least manage a kickstarter well.

Is it really the last Phoenotopia Blog update though?

Okay, not really. There is some news that I'll need to announce, and this blog is one of the game's main outreach channels. Here are the events that will cause me to update the blog:

Announcing the launch of the xbox/playstation ports when they're ready

If a physical edition of the game happens

If a new language is getting introduced into the game (Korean is a high possibility)

When we're ready to talk about our next game

If (BIG IF) we begin development on a Phoenotopia sequel. I do want to do a sequel one day if we have the means and the demand is there. 

Those updates will be more on a "when they happen" basis, rather than me reporting in every couple months.

As always, I'm very happy to see fanart of Phoenotopia. Major thanks again to Pimez for collecting all the artwork from the corners of the internet! Since this is the "last" blogpost, Sir Pimez can finally take a rest from collecting the fanart :P

ÆV made a series of pictures that tell a story. A Pooki is humanely sheared of its wool to create a hat. The Pooki is unharmed. Nice! Gotta love Gail’s expressions.

Amagoo Mazeru makes a stunning landscape shot of a full moon and shooting stars. It’s a sharp and clear vector art. I like the faint glow of the moon and the fire and the subtle gradient in the night sky. Very skillfully done!

Hah hah. I got a chuckle out of this one. I imagine this is how Gail's enemies see her by the end of the game. CaESar made this image based on TerminalMontage's famous youtube videos. Nailed it!

CrownStar drew two pictures of Gail. I'm a big player of JRPGs, so the first shot instantly reminded me of Persona 4's art style. (Hmmm... Phoeonotopia as a JRPG... there’s potential there...) Next, Birdy is shown carried off after her defeat. I really like Birdy's expression here - she just seems mildly uncomfortable.

There's a bit of a story behind the first image. As Firanka shares it, she wasn't able to defeat the Big Eye monster at the end of the flash game, so she believed a tall tale that what awaited after was a 6 armed Kobold boss. Hilarious! The second is a rendition of the lonely Anuri elder. A rare subject. The loneliness is portrayed well here. I feel lonely just looking at it!

Koo_chop draws the clash between Gail and Katash at the top of the towers. I really like this interpretation of the game's art style. It’s faithful to the in-game graphics. And the lighting, from the glow of Gail's bat, to Katash's sword, and the lightning in the background... Amazing!

Lime Hazard shows Gail with a salute pose. Very appropriate for this occasion. I also like how there's a slight tilt in the angle that Gail is portrayed. Those dynamic angles are always hard to get right, and Lime Hazard pulled it off very skillfully. See you next mission!

Lyoung0J with a digital painting of Gail posed sitting on a rock. I like how it almost seems like she was caught in a candid moment - she’s smiling, but also feeling self-conscious. Cute! The art style really pops, and I like how Gail is sporting what I call the old anime style nose.

There's so many goodies here. My favorite would be the one with Gail staring intently at the screen - it's like she's looking directly at you. You almost feel uncomfortable.

Next, there's an Animal Crossing villager dressed as Gail and sporting her pink hair. It even looks like a house Gail would live in. Gail is a connoisseur of the arts and likes Mona Lisa. Yes :)

There are various comics of Gail pointing out Gail's weird food habits. A picture of Fran looking really cool, and even Gail rocking a bathing suit. (bathing suit image linked here in case NSFW). Wow!

Pimez didn't just collect the arts, he creates them as well! This one, which he aptly named 'The Year 175' is a depiction of when the dragons invaded the towers as told by an elderly Daean woman. Great pixeling skills! I got a good chuckle from the ice dragon leaving with its stuff slung over its shoulder.

Quo made a stunning picture of Gail playing the flute surrounded by the 5 musical notes and the Phoenix logo behind her. The theme seems to be "fire" and it works really well. Gail herself looks awesome depicted in her red suit - it's like she's leading a marching band!

Rai Asuha depicts Gail in the late game with her red suit, and night star bat, and holding a lamp. She looks ready for adventure! I really like the white outline here and Gail's poofy shoulders here - the art style feels reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Seri also draws Gail bearing her late game equipment. Unique to Seri's drawing is how all of Gail's equipment is accessible from a pocket on her shirt. I also like how Gail is depicted with her lucky earrings - that accessory is often forgotten.

Treedude depicts Gail with a bat and wearing a funny smirk. She looks like she's ready to hurt someone!

Warotar returns with everyone's favorite Great Drake, Bubbles! It seems so happy to be featured!

Young entrepreneur needs help to be able to freelance

(This is a copy of my fundraising stament)

In 2018, I suffered a car crash that left me with a broken knee and shoulder. Health insurance only covered one month of medications and no therapy. I had to spend the money I had saved during many years working as a licensed nurse. Due to my new condition, my contract was allowed to expire. I was also studying to realize my life long dream of becoming a filmmaker, which had to also stop. In my effort to get my insurance back, I hired a lawyer that only took the little money I had left (about $1500) but never heard from him again.

I was struggling to eat and to pay rent as, at the time and since 2012, I was living alone. All of that led me to a mental breakdown that almost took my life. It took until February 2020 for me to finally be able to walk properly again and to overcome part of my deep depression and forget most of the extreme thoughts I had in my head, especially since I felt so alone since my brother died in an accident. Needless to say, it has been a couple very difficult years for me but I have high hopes for a much better future.

The situation with COVID-19 didn't help in terms of employment. A nurse with trouble walking is of no use, and still recovering for my depression but currently in good spirits. I'm getting better and I want to work. Sadly, I had to sell most of my video equipment: camera, tripodes, lenses, etc., in order to afford my therapy and costly medicine. Just living out of occasional freelance work and with the help from my parents as food and roof over my head goes.

The recovery process from this difficult time in my life was long and painful, not just in terms of physical pain due to my injuries, but also regarding my mental health, a state of despair that left me questioning why did I spend so much time, youth and money on education for the system to discard me so easily. It makes you re-evaluate life and if it's even worth living it. I won't deny it took me months to regain hope in this world and in myself, that I was able to do so much and if the healthcare system didn't want me because of an accident, I should pursue my vocation with much force, an area where I could be appreciated for my talent: both mental and physical abilities that have so much to give, especially since I'm still so young. So, I slowly began taking on small freelance work: a photo session for a baptism, a wedding coverage, restauring old pictures, edit short ad videos for social media pages; things that I could do without being moving too much, as I was still unable to walk properly.To be able to take pictures or videos I rented them, which lower the profits quite significantly but I also took it as a means to distract myself with activities I truly enjoyed. For editing, my trusty laptop was a true warrior for many years and helped me a lot. This way I was able to occupy my mind and lift my spirit that, along with constant therapy, worked wonders for my health. However, since late last year, the state of my laptop has been steadily degrading, and it will stop working soon. The freelance work I am successfully doing now is community management, copywriting, screenplay supervising, photography and video editing for small businesses in my area. But I won’t be able to do this, let alone aspire to better things: better quality media content, ad video recording, gigs at weddings or birthdays and other gatherings, once the COVID situation allows it; if I don’t have the necessary tools.

The goal of my funding campaign is to be able to get the basic equipment I need to continue the business I have and to expand into the growing online media world market, not just locally, as I manage English pretty well and to be competitive in a market severely hit due to the world economic and health situation and the huge unemployment rates around the world, including my country.
