Why has being a fan of the books and Anne Rice become so offensive to some people? You can just consume the show, that's fine, but why can't the series follow the line of the books if it was based on the original work? It doesn't make sense to hate Anne Rice and consume her adaptations and her characters, yes she loved Lestat and the show in the future will give him even more content , it's inevitable, and there is no perfect character, they will disappoint you, they all do horrible things, and there are unreliable narratives from everyone there, Louis can hide and lie of something like Lestat and other characters, if that's unfair so this will not be a show for you, stay in the first season.

It's funny when I see some fans talking about the need for iwtv characters to go to therapy as if that could be a thing in Anne Rice's universe. I imagine something like:

Therapist: Very good Lestat, we are learning about how important it is to communicate to our partner when we are upset about something! But what happens when our partner doesn't understand what we feel, and doesn't respond in a way that we agree? What should we do? Louis, what do you think? Can you answer this?

Louis: We... burn them?

Therapist: What?! No, Louis. We don't do that.

Lestat, raising his arms and swinging anxiously: Oooh, I know! I know! We burn their house!

Therapist, sighing: No, Lestat. We certainly don't do that. We don't do anything that involves fire.

Lestat, turning to Louis and muttering: It worked last time.

Louis shrugs.

Everybody wants Armand

I know I’ve talked about it before, but the way Khayman shows up in the midst of one of the most chaotic and tense scenes in the whole book and then just immediately starts to THIRST after Armand is pure gold.

Meanwhile, back on planet earth, poor Mael is sweating mother fucking BULLETS about the shit show that’s supposed to go down. What I love so much about this part is that, even after Khayman realizes Jesse is his great-granddaughter and gives his vow of help to Mael, he still fucks right off.
